Great place to stay
Everything was great
On arrival , towing a new to us caravan , the staff accommodated this by arranging a parking space for van and car , And once this was organised showed us to the room and the over hospitality was above and beyond,
NOTHING
A real warm , welcoming vibe - not just because of all the fairy lights.. the old building, decor & furnishings create a lovely ambiance.. it begins as you walk towards the Inn .. the signs, the lights - drawing you in .. it’s cosy , warm and inviting. It’s done perfectly - not cluttered by too many objects, ornaments etc The bar is well organised and clean and tidy, everywhere is clean and tidy. The staff are genuinely lovely , friendly and welcoming. Check in was easy - shown to the room , carried my small suitcase, clearly explained things . The room was homely - bedding clean , bed and pillows were very comfortable. Kettle in the room & teas n coffees. And a folder with a bit of info. Breakfast was superb. Full English and cereals - other options available too. I loved staying here, if ever I‘n back in Beverley , I‘d stay here again . Location is excellent- very close to the town centre, theatre and Minister.
Nothing
Location and breakfast
Room small shower had stiff glass panes which shattered on me , water so hot not bearable, couldn’t sleep till late as pub downstairs v v noisy till late
Location was convenient to parking, which you pay for in a public car park, breakfast was nice.
Room very small, problems getting on WiFi, bathroom in dire need of refurb, mastic breaking away, grubby. In evening had to close windows as you are above takeaways so get all the odours.
Perfect location. Clean room.
Very comfy beds , very clean , very friendly staff , brilliant place

Breakfast and location very good.
Great location and breakfast
On arrival, there's no clear signage for people staying. We asked at the bar and a young lad came to take our information. He wasn't very friendly, his attitude came across quite uncaring. Also, it was a shame the corridor was quite noisy so you could hear people walking up and down
Pleasant warm and friendly
Location, great for overnight stay, breakfast was lovely served by lovely staff, parking near by £8 overnight
Nothing
The location was brilliant, perfectly central for shops, bars etc. Accommodation had all amenities you would require for a nights stay. Super friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Great breakfast.
The only thing I could say was the shower in the bathroom could maybe do with an upgrade but it was warm and the water pressure was good.
The location and the bar
It was a little noisy from the floor above. I was in room 11.
Great location. Loved the pub. Breakfast and meals were good.
Liked it all. Would like to stay again but felt the basic room a bit small so might go for a bigger one next time.
Location & good breakfast available
Needs refurbishing
Lovely place,we'll situated in town.
Greeted by friendly staff on arrival. Busiest pub in town! Storage in a courtyard for cycles, though we had space in our ground floor room. Right in the heart of the town.
Nothing we didn't like.
On a weekend evening there was a lively atmosphere in the adjoining alley, but the room itself was quiet. The room was basic and compact, but facilities adequate. Breakfast met expectations. Location was central and convenient for shops and historic sites. Public parking was close by, free at night and payment during the day.
Nice staff..comfortable beds ..breakfast was very nice
Nothing
Great location. Great value
Bathroom could do with upgrading
Good breakfast, efficient staff and a nice atmosphere in the pub. Room was adequate but a bit small. There was room to store our bikes reasonably securely in the courtyard of the annexe where the rooms are. Good location.
Pretty small room and a small shower, even though there was room for a slightly bigger one. Bed was very soft.
Value and close to town
Breakfast good , lots plenty to choose from. and very friendly staff.
Very cramped bedroom.Cheap and cheerful, central for what we needed it to be. Parking was a bit of a nightmare mare.
Location, selection of drinks at the bar, breakfast was amazing
The shower was either very hot or cold. We managed with a cold shower
This is a great place to stay in the centre of Beverley. Perfect for cyclists with secure bike storage.
Nothing
So close to the centre of town. So clean. Lovely breakfast and the kindest most lovely staff and owner/manager. Buzzing pub. Fun atmosphere.
Dodgy wi fi kept switching on and off and smallest sink known to man kind which made ablutions tricky.
Friendly staff nice breakfast
Good
Direct bij het centrum.
Stayed before clean room comfortable bed great location and a nice Breakfast
For me it was the stairs (Dodgy knee) and COPD and the bathroom in room 4 could do with a bit of attention (floor)
Central location
Tiny cramped room , dirty shower
Location. Close to town centre and all the cafes and independent shops
Couldn’t get any hot water in the shower
Friendly
This hotel is in an excellent location and the breakfast was fine. Unfortunately as you will see from the contents of the next box those are the only two redeeming features of this establishment!
Apart from the location and the breakfast, the Windmill was disgusting - the room was small and shabby, the carpet had multiple stains, the shower was dirty, the door to the bathroom did not fit the door frame and could not be closed. Worst of all there was no sound insulation resulting in the following:- - every time someone walked in the room above, their floor and our ceiling groaned and creaked alarmingly. - we could hear every word from the TV or radio in an adjacent room. This was a problem when the occupants were listening until 1:30 am and yes we did bang on the wall. This hotel was not expensive but it was by a long chalk the worst hotel we had ever stayed in. We only book hotels that have been rated highly by previous occupants and this hotel boasted such ratings (“superb”). These are either spurious or refer to rooms not in the annex where we stayed.
Breakfast was excellent
A little noisy up to1am
Perfect location clean
I thought booked double but ended up with a twin husband not impressed 😊
Lovely stay. Lovely location. Small room but everything you need even and a fan was a added bonus
Floor was a little creaky
Location brilliant comfy bed and very clean would stay again.
Nothing
Location, staff and price
Carpet in room needs upgrading
Breakfast was very nice
Not sure
Location is great for the centre of town, short walk from the station. It’s small so more friendly than big hotels, great little outside seat, enjoying to sun and cooling drink. Room was compact but comfortable and slept well, best was the freshly cooked breakfast amazing. Staff were great friendly and helped with information.
Perfect location for work, friendly staff and good comfy bed
Carpet very stained, Lino in bathroom very worn needs replacing Shower was very slow
In the middle of town. Bathroom quite ok Breakfast was satisfactory, however the cleaning staff were continually walking past in the eating area with mops and other cleaning items. This should not have occurred
Small room and noisy. Cleaning staff should NOT be in the dinning room at breakfast time .The time this was observed was at 08:00.
Location and the pub was fantastic. Could not be happier.
The room was awful . Will not be going back. Really sorry but , it was so bad
Chambre propre. Possibilité de se faire café ou thé dans la chambre . Petit-déjeuner excellent, servi par une personne très sympathique.
Le monsieur qui nous a indiqué notre chambre, n'était pas très accueillant. Chambre assez petite.
We had a great stay at the Windmill, the staff were superb, very friendly welcoming and extremely accommodating. The breakfasts were excellent. We had decent sized rooms with all the usual fittings and effective fans and very comfortable beds. Everywhere was very clean.including the lovely pub grounds, lots of outdoor seating and surrounded by well tended beautiful floral displays. The dining room was roomy and attractive. We will definitely return to this little gem, the location in the centre of Beverley was spot on!
Nothing to report!
Location is superb. Breakfast is good. Excellent value.
Room a little tired.
It's a beautiful bed and breakfast, super location. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The room is lovely. Beds are really comfortable. And the icing on the cake is they serve a delicious breakfast with a smile. Highly recommend it.
Great location and lovely breakfast
Great location and comfortable night stay. Lovely breakfast
Bathroom could do with an upgrade, shower small with low pressure but we coped
Location central. Chalet rooms really clean & although on the small side, comfortable.
Our room was quite a climb upstairs & would have preferred to be on the ground floor for easier access as we are older !
Great location Excellent value for money Lovely staff Comfortable room
Nothing!
Great location and staff really helpful and friendly. Great breakfast too.
Lack of parking but as long as you find the car park it is a very short walk.
The location was great. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast had a great choice of cereals. The cooked breakfast was good too. Nice touch to have a hairdryer and iron and board in the room when often you’ve to ask for one .
The bathroom desperately needed a refurb. The room was very small. The TV didn’t work very well due to a poor signal
Was clean and tidy close too walk in too twon
Nothing
It's position right next to the main street. But far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle.
There is nothing wrong with place, but the bathroom could do with an update but still very usable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, being in the centre of town. A very good breakfast. Dog friendly rooms available. A very reasonably priced room for a quick visit.
The towels in the room could have been better, but that is a very minor criticism, considering the price.
the pub, beer garden and breakfast we had were all great, staff were very nice too. we had a room in the outside block of the pub, not the best, very small, very creaky floor, very basic bathroom. it was very warm in the room, we were given a fan but the space was limited so much it would have either been blowing directly on a face or on the floor in the limiited space we had already. it looked like to rooms above the pub were better really. overall it was a good location, just the room was pretty awful.
the room
Great place to stay and right in the centre of Beverley which is exactly what we wanted. The breakfast is really good too.
It was very warm whilst we were in Beverley and as the room was a little on the small side neither of us slept well - know this is no fault of the Windmill and just one of those things
Superb location for enjoying Beverley. Comfortable room. Council owned car park literally across the road (we needed to use the long stay area and I think that it might be a little difficult to find a space at times). Breakfast was very good.
I think the rooms could do with an update.
The breakfast and the good location
Fittings a bit tired, shower head needs replacing, lack of toiletries
Breakfast good and location right by centre.
Room small and tv didn’t work consistently, a bit of noise outside at times.
Location and price
Very nice stay.
Shower was not that good.
The staff were very nice and provided an efficient fan in the very hot weather. The bed was comfortable. The towels were of good quality. The location was ideal for exploring Beverley. Given that the price was well below average, it was very good value for money.
Close to town
Compact clean convenient
Very friendly staff, great location in centre of Beverley, great breakfast and surprisingly quiet.
Room was tired but comfortable and quiet, fine for 1 night
Good location, good bar, nice room.
The staff and location excellent
Rooms small, bed too soft
The location was great. The pub was quite noisy until closing time but it was a hot evening and everyone was enjoying themselves outside in the warmth of the evening, so no complaints at all. The breakfasts were delicious and all the staff were very friendly !
The bathroom light was difficult to get on and the light over the mirror didn’t work at all. The hook on the back of the door was very loose and needed repairing !
Disappointed wth location and Beverley in particular
Down back street Dirty alleyway
Clean abit dated but good location and staff so friendly nice breakfast and drinks will definitely return
The location
Location meant it was very noisy at night, also because of the exceptionally hot weather the room was too warm to sleep in.
Very Very good Value for the price. Lovely staff, good location
No complaints
Location, friendly staff, promptly shown to our room, room clean and comfortable, excellent selection of ales at the bar, breakfast was of good quality
Nothing
Location was excellent
Bathroom was tired, no soap to wash your hands etc.
The location
Not enough lights in the room
really nice stay
For the first time I stayed in the main building, not the annexe, and the room was pleasant, if oddly shaped. The bed was very comfortable and pretty much filled the room. The whole set-up is unassuming, but very efficient. The breakfast was good, the service excellent.
Clearly the hotel is working with limited space, but I would have welcomed more space in the room - and maybe a chair.
It’s a nice bar with out door seating area. Beds comfy. Rooms very small. But for 1 night it was fine. Breakfast very nice.
Beds where very comfortable and clean. Showers had really good pressure aswell Breakfast was 10/10 Location fantastic
Basic but ok for value
Address info completely WRONG. Apparently a constant fault.
Top quality bed and breakfast
Parking, although some very close
Everything about the place
Central
Rooms were tired n needed some TLC Carpet stained and didn’t want to get in shower
Breakfast and location
Mould in toilet. Spot of blood on the second pillow case on right side of room
Location is excellent- just a very short walk through a side passage into the heart of Beverley. Friendly, helpful staff offering a warm welcome. Good breakfast, promptly served. Comfortable, compact room.
Even though it was June, the weather was pretty cool and so was the room. The weather was not the fault of the Windmill, but not having a fan heater to help warm up the room would have been useful. Also the bathroom had a very small sink situated underneath a cupboard which made using it a little awkward.
The staff were lovely
All was good
Its location and the staff.
Bathroom was dated and sink very small.
Great location
Really convenient location in the centre, car park very near, clean room and very helpful staff
Town
Noise
The location was perfect for me
There was no fridge, very small space and bed uncomfortable
Room was clean very compact but suitable
The bar person quite curt and rude asked for ice the reply was if I have any left. We left our snacks that we bought at the br to visit the toilets and when we came back they were cleared up even though we had left reading glasses on tables and we were told the lights are off at that side of the bar, it was approx 9.30pm We went to bar at 10pm to be told this would be our last drinks yet it is advertised as open til 11.30pm and when we left there were alot of people still drinking Absolutely appalling service
Very good location and breakfast.
The room was very small, although bed was comfy and ensuite fine. But no floor space to open a suitcase!
