Very cosy and calm stay, in the middle of the nature a little bit off road. You have your own space to stay on the balcony. Rooms were good, clean and confortable. The staff is very nice and helpfull. Breakfast got served every morning. Easy to get into Sigiriya center and beautiful places around. Scooter rental was available for us.

Location a little bit off road, complicated to get there (especially after a day of rain). Some little animals like frogs or lizard in the bathroom… nothing special.

The rice paddy field is definitely the highlight of this hotel—a beautiful and peaceful place to sit and unwind, with peacocks, cows, and other birds occasionally adding to the experience. The food is outstanding, especially the local cuisine and we loved the fresh jackfruit picked from their own tree and served to us. With a lake just a short walk away, the whole stay was a truly relaxing and wonderful experience.

The rooms were not cleaned daily and we were disappointed to find that AC was not included in the Standard Room and required an additional charge, while it was included only with the Deluxe Room. As the weather was hot and humid, AC was quite necessary, so it would be better if the hotel clearly mentioned the AC inclusion and additional charges when booking. Apart from this, we had a good overall experience.

When we went to visit Sigiriya, we chose a guesthouse called "The King's Village". It was a really beautiful place, very quiet, with beautiful things all around. There is a lake, a beautiful forest, and Sigiriya can be seen from afar. But the owner lady is cunning. Because when we first talked, we said we wanted an AC room. Then she said we could get one of those rooms, because every room has an AC. But when we got there, we got a room with only a fan, and it didn't have an A/C. When we complained about it, she said that they gave A/C rooms to people who came in the morning. That made us uncomfortable. Additionally, when we asked her about the check-out time, she said it was 10:00 am. Then when we went to the booking. com page, it said the check-out time was 11:30 am. When we told her about it, she just acted like it was a mistake. However, the place was very clean, tidy, and the service was good. Sigiriya Rock is about four kilometers from this place, while Pidurangala Rock is about seven kilometers from this place.

Excellent location, very peaceful environment. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The host was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Off road location, but worth it! They will help you out

Schon die Zufahrt ist schön und ohne Probleme mit einem Tuktuk zu befahren. Der Empfag war herzlich und freundlich. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber. Es gab auch warmes Wasser. Die Lage war ruhig und inmitten der Natur. Pfaue spazierten durch den Garten und im nahegelgenen Bach badete ein harmloser Waran. Das Frühstück war umfangreich und hausgemacht, es wurde auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen (schärfe, vegetarisch) und erklärt was wir bekommen. Der Obstteller war abwechslungsreich und der beste den wir bekommen haben. Auch das Abendessen war köstlich und es wurden die hauseigenen Früchte serviert (z.B. Brotbaumfrucht, Avocado). Nachschlag gab es soviel wir wollten, wir hatten das Gefühl, dass es der Gastgeberin wirklich wichtig war, dass wir satt und zufrieden sind - was wir auch jedesmal waren. Es wurde auch eine Safari für uns organisiert.

Dass wir abreisen mußten. Wir haben unseren restlichen Urlaub (noch 14 Tage) dieser Unterkunft nachgetrauert, weil wir uns hier am wohlsten gefühlt haben.

De ligging, heelnrustig en leuk om naar Sigiriya te wandelen. Het was heel wchoon, de eigenaresse is heel vriendelijk en de plek waar je ontbijt en ook lekker kunt avondeten ligt prachtig aan het rijstveld. Echt een parel.

Loved the location, it was a peaceful spot to relax. The staff were great, made us feel at home and looked after us.

Everything was great. In one room the shower was tricky to operate and couldn't close window in bathroom as it was designed with slats. The second room was perfect. I think they are updating the rooms which it why they were different.

The room are in clean & spacious, and the locationa re quiet and peaceful. The food are also great, simple & delicious, enjoyed both breakfast & dinner. But what impress most is the owner's generosity and services that I didn't expect before.

Friendly staff, good food when we arrived late, good large breakfast after our morning hike, silent location with overview of rice fields. The rooms were big and newly renovated, multiple times better than expected for the price.

The road to the hotel is a bit offroad/narrow, it was not a problem for our driver, but I would not have liked walking in the dark. Take a tuk-tuk if you have no car.

This place holds a special place in our hearts. It offers the charming experience of staying in a peaceful village surrounded by paddy fields, with refreshing morning breezes and a relaxing outdoor space where you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The well prepared breakfast was a major highlight of our stay. The breakfast deserves a perfect 100/100 rating. It was undoubtedly one of the best breakfasts we enjoyed during our 10 day trip across Sri Lanka. The quality, taste, and variety were truly outstanding. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and even prepared dinner upon request (available at an additional cost). The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The peaceful and remote setting ultimately adds to its unique charm and tranquil atmosphere.

The road leading to the property is quite narrow, and the location may initially feel a bit secluded. However, it is still accessible by car, and tuk-tuk transfer services are available from the main road (LKR 300), making it convenient for guests to reach the property.

An extraordinary stay that exceeded all my expectations. I initially booked for just one night, but after experiencing the place, I extended my stay for another two nights. The location is beautiful, with stunning surroundings and refreshing winds coming from the farm, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and every aspect of the experience was memorable. Overall, I would rate this place 10/10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Die Gastgeberin ist auf alle unsere Wünsche eingegangen und hat uns sehr gute Empfehlungen sowie Kontakte für die Aktivitäten vermittelt. Wir würden sehr gerne wiederkommen!

Das einzige Manko war das WLAN, welches teilweise sehr schwach vorhanden war.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, calm and very green property. The location is perfect, with walking access to Lion’s Rock and Pidurangala. The host was incredibly kind and made our stay special, cooking delicious dinners every evening and serving amazing breakfasts. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Highly recommended for a peaceful and memorable stay

However, we had initially booked two nearby rooms, but due to some repair work, we had to change them, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the hotel is located a bit far from the main road, so access can take some extra time.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They let us do an early check in without any extra fee and booked a tuk-tuk for us so we could go for a sunrise hike at Pidurangala Rock. The food was also amazing: home made and tasty!

Le logement est très reposant, il se situe au cœur de la jungle. Nous étions en famille avec nos deux filles de 5 et 8 ans. La chambre était parfaite pour nous quatre. Le petit-déjeuner et le dîner sont excellents.

Lage war etwas außerhalb, jedoch sehr idyllisch mit tollem Ausblick über ins grüne wie u.a. das eigene Reisfeld. Wir haben wilde Pfauen, Affen und Echsen entdecken können. Wer für die Natur kommt, ist hier genau richtig. Fahrten konnten immer spontan von der Unterkunft organisiert werden.

The beds were comfortable, the food was really good and the staff was really friendly. The view from the room was really beautiful.

The WiFi didn’t work at all, which made our evenings a bit boring since it wasn’t recommended to go outside after dark due to the hotel being located in an area with wild elephants. The staff were also sometimes difficult to find, and they didn’t reply to messages on WhatsApp.

Zimmer war sehr schön. Mitten in der Natur! Host hat uns ein TukTuk für früh morgens organisiert und war an sich sehr freundlich.

Wir haben in dieser Unterkunft eine Nacht verbracht und möchten besonders unsere Hosts hervorheben. Trotz unserer etwas späteren Ankunft haben wir tatsächlich noch ein frisch zubereitetes Abendessen bekommen. Auch das Frühstück hat uns hier inklusive des tollen Ausblicks wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Zimmer war sauber und das Bett bequem. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist wirklich super.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the location by the lake is beautiful. Some rooms offer a nice view of the surrounding greenery. Breakfast was lovingly prepared and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, we stayed in two accommodations that had a significant mold problem. The air felt heavy and difficult to breathe, which made us feel uncomfortable and concerned about our health. We understand the area is very humid, but this unfortunately affected our stay.

Questa struttura è stupenda. Nel nostro tour in Sri Lanka è stata la nostra preferita. Le vetrate che affacciano sulla giungla sono uno spettacolo. Camere pulite, le signore gentilissime, colazione tipica deliziosa.

De ligging, huisje, tuin, eten. Huisje heeft een hele grote raam waardoor je vanuit bed van de tuin kunt genieten bij het ontwaken. Gerund door een familie. Lieve gastvrouw, spreekt niet vloeiend maar voldoende Engels. Zij heeft erg goede tips voor massages en safari bv.

Właścicielka obiektu nie poinformowała nas o dodatkowo płatnej klimatyzacji, która sama zasugerowała, żeby włączyć. W ogłoszeniu nie znajduje się informacja o takiej dodatkowej opłacie.

Très bon accueil, l’hôte est au petit soin de ses clients. Très bon repas et petit déjeuner. Très bon emplacement à proximité de Minneriya et Dambulla, d’ailleurs elle nous a aidé pour l’organisation du safari.

I really enjoyed my stay at the property, especially due to its fantastic location near Sigiriya Lion Rock. The convenience of being so close to such a major attraction was definitely a highlight. The breakfast provided was also a pleasant surprise—it was delicious and a great start to the day. Additionally, the accommodation itself was clean, neat, and well-maintained, which made the overall experience feel comfortable and relaxing.

Only downside was the unreliable wifi during my stay.

Las instalaciones y el personal del hotel eran muy amables. Tanto la madre comp sus hijas siempre están pendientes de cualquier cosa y te ayudan con lo que necesites. Además ofrecen un desayuno muy completo y típico de la zona

La única pega que tengo del hotel es la zona, ya que se recomienda no ir andando por la noche y estas obligado a reservar si o si un tuk tuk para poder ir y venir. Nosotros la primera noche intentamos llegar andando, ya que no estas muy lejos de la zona de los restaurantes y casi nos mordieron los perros de los vecinos. Pero en cuanto al hotel ninguna queja.

Struttura immersa nel verde, gestita a livello famigliare e ancora in ampliamento. La signora che ci ha accolto è davvero gentile e disponibile, e si occupa praticamente di tutto (pulizia, cucina etc) con entusiasmo e impegno. La camera è davvero grande e spaziosa con una bella vetrata da cui poter vedere il panorama fuori. Ideale per chi cerca pace nella natura.

Bagno piccolo e non tutte le stanze hanno box per la doccia. Da un tubo entravano delle piccole rane che quindi giravano per la stanza. Il Wi-Fi non ha sempre funzionato. Non accettano pagamenti elettronici.

Nos ha encantado todo. La dueña excepcional, súper amable y atenta. Cocina muy bien, tanto el desayuno como la cena estaban muy buenos. La habitación excelente. Es un paraíso de tranquilidad. Entorno inmejorable, rodeado de animales. Alojamiento muy recomendable. Si volvemos a Sri Lanka repetiremos seguro!

Le camere sono immerse nella natura più totale, i suoni della giungla ti accompagnano per tutto il soggiorno! La proprietaria è molto disponibile, camere pulite e fresche. La colazione ha confermato le nostre aspettative!

La posizione è un pochino scomoda, ma se avete un buon driver vi riuscirà a portare alla struttura senza problemi!

Pobyt w tym miejscu to spełnienie marzeń o pobycie w ciszy, wśród natury (pawie, małpy, żółwie, to tylko część zwierząt które można spotkać "w ogrodzie przed domkiem"). Przede wszystkim chcielibyśmy podziękować za gościnę! Cudowna Właścicielka! Komfortowy domek dla rodziny (w naszym przypadku 2+2 - nastolatki), wygodne łóżka, czysta pościel i ręczniki, czysta łazienka, przepyszne domowe jedzenie, otwartość i uśmiech. Domek położony w niewielkim oddaleniu od sklepu (15 minut spacerem wśród pięknych widoków), do głównych atrakcji dojazd wybraliśmy tuk tukiem (Gospodyni zamówiła nam dużego tuk tuka za dobrą cenę). Pogoda na początku sierpnia cudowna. Całym sercem polecam to miejsce na dłuższe i krótsze pobyty.

Habitació i banys impecables, llits grans i còmodes, i personal molt atent. L'esmorzar, típic del país, complet i molt bo. Tot això en un entorn relaxant i envoltat de naturalesa. Molt recomanable per gaudir d'uns moments de tranquil·litat a Sigiriya.

Hele lieve mensen! We waren er maar kort, maar hebben na een korte nacht echt heerlijk ontbeten en zijn toen weer op pad gegaan.

De weg er naartoe is even spannend en de WiFi deed het niet heel goed. Verder prima!

I can highly recommend staying at Kings Village Guest House in Sigiriya! The location is beautiful, next to a lake and rice fields. You can rent a bicycle and go in a 20-30 minutes ride to Lion Rock or Pindurangala Rock! It is definetly worth it, because you can drive on small streets through beautiful nature. Even if you chose the way via main street, it is easy to go by bike, because there is not much Traffic. It is very easy to navigate with Google Maps. The bungalow was very modern with huge windows and a nice terrace with view on the rice fields and peacocks. The bed was comfortable, the room had good air conditioning, towels, TV, a fridge and a water heater for making tea. My host was very friendly. She gave me a huge breakfast and cooked dinner for me. It was delicious, especially the rice coming from the fields in the neighborhood. The prices for dinner, renting a bike and the room itself were very fair! The only thing I regret is, that I did not stay longer. Thank you very much for the beautiful days in Sigiriya!

Great place to stay if you are looking for an affordable, clean and spacious accommodation in Sigiriya. The host was so helpful and the breakfast she made was delicious!

Serene environment.

The hosts lack hospitality skills. The hotel is very far from the main market area and is connected by a narrow bumpy muddy road. Our group consisted of one pregnant woman and four elderly people. Even after reaching the destination amid severe thunderstorms,, they denied us any sort of dinner service. The rooms were leaking and toads, house bats and insects were roaming inside the rooms. Besides, they were also showing us temper stating that they had to prepare our breakfast since morning although breakfast was included in the package.

The location is a bit off the road but the stay makes up for it.

A clean and tidy room in a picturesque location with a large floor-to-ceiling window and an unforgettable view of the jungle. During the day you can see many peacocks, and at night you can watch the lights of fireflies. The owner of the hotel is very attentive and always ready to help in any situation, and she also cooks traditional dishes wonderfully.

The room was very big and the surrounding were all green.

The location was hidden between the jungle, near a lake. There were wild animals roaming around on the way early morning and late night. Going to the rock was risky from this stay. No food options. There is no where to cook and no restaurant nearby. Hotel offers only breakfast. Lady that runs the place is very rude. We begged for food then she made simple dinner for us.
