Sigiri Jungle Villa

La estancia muy agradable. El propietario es de los más simpáticos, agradables y atentos que nos hemos encontrado el Sri Lanka. La habitación está bien, pasamos 3 noches y contentos. Si que es verdad que no está pegado a la carretera principal, hay que ir andando unos 10 minutos por caminos, para tenerlo en cuenta cuando es de noche. Por lo demás, muy buen alojamiento

The place is in a lovely setting, you feel you are in the middle of nowhere but in reality very near to food , shops, sites. You feel as if you are in the middle of the jungle. The rooms were very clean, we had a small fridge and the sitting outside was amazing. The owner prepared a tasty local breakfast (extra cost) but it was worth every penny. I wish we could have stayed longer. The owner also organises safaris and he came to pick us up from where we were eating the first night. He also organised taxis for us!!

I loved the place

The owner and his family are very nice people. Always available for recommendation and proposals without being so pushy, that was very appreciates. They also prepared a coffee at 4.45 am the day we planned the trip to Lion's Rock. He was also so kind to lend us his bicycles. The breakfast with dahl rotti eggs and fresh fruits simply delicious. The location is comfortable for Sigiryia main attractions. Highly recommended!

This was probably the nicest place we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka Janaka our host was excellent. He even organised for us to go to the next hotel for a swim one afternoon. The coffee was perfect. Huge breakfast!

Super séjour de 5 nuits à Sigirya, les hotes sont adorables, toujours a aider pour organiser les sorties et excursions (dambulla, polonnawura et le safari minnerya, ce dernier nous avons partage avec d autres visiteurs de l hotel) et trajets depuis l aeroport ou vers d autess villes. Petit dejeuner tres copieux et servi a toute heure. Un consei, allez au rocher en face de lions rock qui est accessible gratuitement et sans personne le matin au lever du soleil.

Le wifi ne marchait pas bien.

La falta de mampara en la ducha, como ocurre en la mayoría de los hoteles de Sri Lanka. Tampoco suelen tener percheros. Con lo prácticos que son.

Our stay at this homestay was amazing. The host was incredibly nice and helpful every day, clearly enjoying hosting guests and providing excellent service. The breakfast was exceptional, and this was definitely the best accommodation we experienced during our trip to Sri Lanka.The room was exceptionally clean and fully furnished with air conditioning and comfortable beds.

De ligging van de villa is perfect. Je waant je in de jungle maar is toch dichtbij restaurantjes/ barretjes. Daarnaast is de eigenaar een ontzettende vriendelijk en behulpzame kerel die ontzettend zijn best doet om het ons goed naar de zin te maken. Hij wil je helpen met het regelen van safari, taxiritten. Echt ontzettend aardig.

The property is managed by Janak, who is one of the nicest hotel managers I have ever met. He accommodated for my mother’s food restrictions and cooked everything accordingly. The food was absolutely delicious. The property itself is so well maintained. It’s green and you feel so relaxed and comfortable. It’s clean, smells nice and has AC. The Sigiriya Lion Rock is just a walking distance from the property and there are some restaurants within walking distance as well. I highly recommend the property to anyone coming in to Sigiriya.

This was truly one of the best accommodations we had during our four month trip. The family running the hotel is incredibly warm and helpful with every little thing, organizes wonderful trips, and we were even welcome to use the bicycle. If you are visiting Sigiriya, we 100% recommend this hotel, you truly feel right at home here. Unfortunately we also had a case of illness, and the owner immediately helped us source medicine and made sure we were as comfortable as possible.

When giving a rating I have to consider the value for money. This establishment is just that. Combined with the hard working staff and management it was an excellent choice for a two night stay. Arrangements for food, coffee, transport directions and any other queries were addressed and catered for promptly.

As expected the facilities are basic, but all essentials are there.

If you want to spend a wonderful time in the forest, choose this place without hesitation. The room was amazing and very clean. The host is a wonderful person, and a big thank you to the person who prepared breakfast for me in the morning; it was a fantastic breakfast. I also thank them for lending me their bike so I could explore the city. Everyone was very kind and helpful. As someone who travels the world, I stayed here for two days and regretted not staying longer.

We had a wonderful stay, the real highlight honestly is the staff of the place, he really made sure to do everyhing that was in his power to make our stay unforgetable, he arranged our elephant safari, which was AMAZING!! also a night walk, he gave good recommnedations and places to eat and even cooked for us as well, the breakfasts were also super good, they were local and so yummy and we were never able to finish the whole thing, definetely recommend!

Der Gastgeber ist ein wahrer Schatz. Der Service ist ausergewöhnlich und die ganze Familie ist super freundlich. Er hat uns viele Empfehlungen gegeben, einen Termin für eine Ayuverda Behandlung vereinbart und uns dort hingefahren. Einen Abend haben wir auch direkt dort gegessen und seine Frau hat uns ein super leckeres Kottu zubereitet. Alles in allem eine der besten Erfahrungen in Sri Lanka.

Perfect verblijf gehad. De kamer is heel erg schoon en de bedden liggen erg lekker. Wij hebben er echt heerlijk kunnen slapen. Super aardige host. Wij kwamen met onze tuktuk en konden er prima parkeren.

Very friendly staff, they arranged trips, safari for us. We enjoyed the breakfasts, we took advantage of the dinner option, which were also excellent. They provided us with a tuk tuk whenever we needed it.

The host was incredibly nice! We booked our safari with him and the tour guide was amazing! We also booked our ride to Ella with our host which was super easy and comfortable!

日程変更余儀無くされて急遽見つけた宿です。 余りに安いので不安でしたが、ライオンロック登頂の為と割り切り宿泊しました。 家族経営の小さな宿です。 夕食をお願いしました。とても美味しかったです。 宿の方の対応も親切で好感持てました。

On a également super bien mangé (le kottu est le meilleur qu'on ait mangé au Sri Lanka)! Merci encore pour l'accueil, on a été ravis, ça a été un pincement au cœur pour nous de partir

We had an amazing experience here! The location is fantastic, right in the jungle, and you really get to hear and feel nature all around. The host was absolutely amazing – they helped us organize our safari, and we even got to see elephants! They also arranged a wonderful spa evening for us and found an incredible Tuk Tuk driver who showed us all the best local spots. What we appreciated the most was their flexibility and dedication: they adapted to our schedule, even getting up at 4 a.m. to prepare coffee before the safari and waiting with breakfast after we returned. Overall, it was a truly unforgettable stay, thanks to the perfect combination of location, hospitality, and thoughtful care.

Emplacement parfait, à 5min a pied du Lion Rock et des boutiques/restaurants. L'hôte Fernando est incroyablement gentil et fait tout pour que votre séjour se passe dans les meilleurs conditions possibles. Le petit déjeuner ainsi que les dîners sont excellents.

Direi tutto. La posizione, effettivamente all’inizio della giungla. La strada è a “rischio elefanti” (si fa per dire ma neppure troppo). Da Sigiriya ci si arriva tranquillamente a piedi, 10/15 minuti. Di sera serve una torcia ma fattibilissima. Praticamente all’ingresso di Lion Rock, la si raggiunge a piedi con una bella camminata (per chi corre, la mattina é una pista perfetta!). L’ospitalità ti lascia senza parole, cortesia, disponibilità, bravi, davvero. La colazione, abbondante e di qualità. Ci sarei stato un altro giorno, fosse solo a leggere ne silenzio/suono/frastuono del posto. Si, ci sono insetti, vero, ma sarebbe un male non ce ne fossero!

We had an amazing stay at the Sigiri Jungle Villa in Sigiriya. The host, Janaka, was the most welcoming person ever. He made us feel at home and was willing to help us with everything. He speaks English very well and is always open to have a fun conversation or give you a recommendation. We had two amazing meals and three delicious breakfasts cooked by him or his family members. The location is close to the center while still having a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The garden reminded us of the jungle and we saw all kinds of animals while eating on the terrace. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and big. And the shower is the best shower we had here in Sri Lanka. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you visit Sri Lanka, come here and enjoy the hospitality of Janaka and his family.

Everything was perfect

We truly and strongly recommend this stunning and beautiful place. It is situated a bit out of the Main Street, surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds. You could relax and rest in a big and very clean room. The hosts are incredibly kind, friendly with always a smile in their face. The breakfast is very rich (and continental). You could also eat lunch or dinner there and we suggest to eat here because the food is really delicious and cooked only for you.

We stayed for two nights at this lovely property. The room was spacious, simply furnished, and equipped with both air conditioning and a hairdryer. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful, and wonderfully flexible when it comes to preparing breakfast — a generous and delicious traditional Sri Lankan spread that we absolutely loved.

The location is great, close to both the main attractions and Sigiriya village. The only little downside is that the roads aren’t lit at night — so bring a torch and make it part of the adventure!

Das Personal war super freundlich und hat immer nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist, der Betreiber hat sich um alles gekümmert und mir verschieden Ausflüge organisiert. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker und man konnte flexibel zu jeder Uhrzeit frühstücken. Ich konnte einmal bereits um 6 Uhr frühstücken.

This was the perfect start to our Sri Lankan holiday. The owner and his family were so helpful. He helped us to organise transport and had suggestions for the best trips. The villa is in a very tranquil location but also close to the Lions Rock entrance and a walk or tuk tuk ride to restaurants. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious Sri Lankan food served outside near the rooms. It was a lovely spot to sit and relax in between activities. We loved our time here. Thank you.

It’s a family owned place and it is so beautiful! Away from the busy road, however walking distance to the main road in order to go to the center. ( at night advisable to get lanterns) The owners are very kind and available to help you with everything you need; breakfast was amazing! We wished we could have stayed more so to enjoy the garden and the facilities.

Manque de rangement dans la chambre

De kamer was schoon Bed was redelijk tot goed. De airco werkte redelijk tot goed. Badkamer was ruim. Lekker ontbijt. Eigenaar Fernando, zijn moeder en andere werknemers waren erg vriendelijk. Kort na aankomst wilde we wat eten en bracht de broer van Fernando ons kosteloos naar een goed restaurant. Toen ik Fernando om een wasserette vroeg bood hij aan om het kosteloos te wassen.

De wifi op kamer 3 en 4 werkte niet. Het kastje van de wifi hangt net te ver van de kamers. Op de ruime badkamer miste ik een klein tafeltje om je toilettas op te zetten. Na twee dagen hebben we zelf om schone handdoeken gevraagd. (En gekregen) Ik werd verrast dat ik alleen contant kon betalen. Toch geef ik de accommodatie een 8 omdat de prijs kwaliteit verhouding overeenkomt.

The place was amazing. We were greeted by an authentic sri lankan family, very welcoming and eager to help. They helped us with everything from recommendations to massages, cooking us food (it was amazing, traditional, great and very tasty) and even driving us around. The acomodation is beautiful and quiet, situated at the edge of the jungle. Very close to lions rock. The rooms were clean, spotless and an excellent value for money. Would highly reccommend!

Las habitaciones están muy limpias, en medio de la naturaleza, muy cerca de Sigiriya Rock y con desayuno increíble, adaptado a nuestra dieta sin gluten. El personal es encantador.

This was a really nice place. In 4 weeks of Sri Lanka it was one of the cleanest rooms and bathrooms we have seen. The owner is friendly and made us a delicious breakfast. We would for sure recommend this accomodation.

The room had a strong smell, probably coming from the detergent of the bedsheets.

Superb, nothing less. The service was excellent: e.g. the the breakfast was great, they arranged a driver (at a competitive price) for a trip, and they just had an eye for the small details that would make our stay worthwhile. Good shower and a comfortable bed. Sigiriya Rock is at walking distance.

Minor thing: we also noticed the room was a little smelly, but we think it’s because of the cleaning (chemicals used) so we made sure we opened doors and windows - and the smell disappeared.

An incredible place literally in the middle of the jungle. We were charmed by the place, which was surrounded by greenery and tranquility. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The hosts were extremely kind, warm and hospitable. They sent us off with a rich and very tasty breakfast. We regret that we only stayed for one night and hope to come back again someday.

Unglaublich Hilfsbereiter Hausherr. Wir wurden bei jeder Frage unterstützt und bekamen ausführliche Hinweise und Tipps bezüglich Fahrtstrecken, Sightseeing etc. Leckeres und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und sind in einen schönen Garten eingebettet.

We really loved our stay here! The host family is really friendly and hospitable. We asked them if they could provide us with dinner and breakfast and it exceeded our expectations. They provided us with a delicious home cooked meal and fresh fruits straight from their own garden. Also the rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an amazing time and i can only recommend staying here.

We stayed one night here. The hosts are excellent and very responsive. They made excellent breakfast and nutritional along great tea and coffee. They provided rotating fan when we said A/C is not enough. I would say excellent stay and will come back in future. The environment outside is so peaceful and lot of trees.

You can stay in a house run by a beautiful family in the middle of quiet nature. The complex is very clean and has a beautiful garden where you can relax.

La amabilidad de la familia que lo lleva es espectacular, son muy atentos todos. Incluso cuando llegamos un día lloviendo, el padre vino a buscarnos al coche con paraguas para no mojarnos. O cuando compramos fruta, nos ayudó a pelarla para comerla. La sensación de tranquilidad del lugar. La limpieza. El desayuno tan rico y tan bien preparado y explicado. Nuestra habitación tenía aire acondicionado y mosquitera. Estuvimos muy a gusto. Lo recomendamos sin duda.
