Heel vriendelijke eigenaren! Bedje voor onze dochter was door de eigenaar zelf geregeld wat echt super was. We kwamen laat aan, de keuken was eigenlijk al gesloten maar toch konden we nog overheerlijke burgers krijgen. Top!

Ontbijt had misschien iets uitgebreider gekund en communicatie met medewerkers in Engels was lastig.

We did not have hot water for our shower and had trouble with the toilet not flushing properly. The fans between the door being closed allowed for some small bugs to crawl in the room. The air con was great and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was great. It was ok for a one night stay precruise.

Wir haben eine Kreuzfahrt gebucht und sind 2 Tage davor bei Giovanni eingecheckt um uns vom Flug zu erholen! Der Aufenthalt war super! Die Ausstattung der geräumigen Zimmer, die schöne kleine, toll gepflegte Anlage, das Frühstück und Giovannis Kochkünste Abends! Auch kann man hier sehr gute Zigarren genießen! Wenn man möchte werden Ausflüge organisiert, Taxis usw. gebucht. Giovanni und seine Mama sind tolle Gastgeber!!

Beautifully landscaped, exceptionally clean and newly remodeled. Staff so friendly very accommodating. We were there one night before catching a cruise. The hotel took care of our transportation from the airport to the hotel. Then the next day they had a ride for us to the cruise port. I highly recommend staying here. Very safe the grounds were secured with fencing. They had cameras on the property. The food was excellent. Wonderful breakfast for the guest in the morning. They also had dinner for us that evening. Everything was so clean and nice. The bathrooms were gorgeous. We enjoyed it very much. I would definitely stay here again.

Whether you're staying in La Romana for a week or only for the night for the cruise the next day, Hotel El Dorado is a phenomenal place to stay. The pool is not only clean but also has a bar. The rooms are very unique with colour changing lights. The room itself also has plenty of room and doesn't feel crowded. The shower heads (Yes, plural) had multiple options to choose from. I had a balcony that came with some lawn chairs to sit in if you felt like sitting outside enjoying the weather. It's less a hotel and more of a mini resort, multiple small buildings that are surrounded by a wall, ensuring your safety. Not only is the room price very affordable, but the meals and transfers from the airport (100USD from Punta Cana) are much cheaper than other companies would offer. The meals themselves were cooked slowly and methodically, ensuring the quality of the food was above high quality. This is a hotel that takes its time and does it extremely well. Your meal will be added to your room number, where you will pay for it on checking out. I personally missed breakfast because I slept in, but housekeeping did swing by and ask if I wanted some fruit to eat in my room. Spanish is definitely encouraged. However, you can absolutely get by with English. The staff working there, from front desk to housekeeping to security and everyone in between, always had a smile on their face and was always ready to help you out. If I were to come back to La Romana, Hotel El Dorado would definitely be my first choice. P.S. They also have a mouser (cat) to ensure no mice stay around the hotel area.

My only gripe was that I was not used to the different style and fabric of blankets, but that's more of a personal preference

For a "free, continental breakfast", the breakfast was excellent and included omelets cooked to order, plus plenty of other food and drink.

The bathrooms in the unit did not have hand soap or facecloths. There was shower gel/shampoo in the shower itself. The hotel could use some repair & maintenance. Some painting and replacement of rotted wood would make a better appearance.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Communication was excellent before the stay with any questions we had. They arranged airport transport to the hotel (extra cost), which was very reassuring being in a foreign country to us and the airport being an hour away. We were only staying one night before our cruise the next day, and wish we could have stayed longer. They have a nice Italian restaurant within the hotel grounds, and dining was pool-side. They have on-site security and felt very safe here. The room we had was very clean and inviting, and the beds were comfortable. We had two beds in our unit, a double and a twin. The morning shower water was a little cool, but not intolerable. They served us a tasty breakfast before arranging a taxi for us to the cruise port. Definitely would recommend this hotel for those coming into town for cruises.

The property is beautiful! The hosts are exceptionally accommodating. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was lovely and very clean. The food was delicious! The beakfast was exceptional. If someone is staying the night in LA Romana prior to going on a cruise, this is an amazing choice!

La bouffe était excellente !!!! Nous sommes resté à souper les deux soirs. Les repas étaient excellents. Les site est très propre et le proprio des plus gentils. La plage est à 5-10 minutes à pied.

Атмосфера уютная и спокойная, что было особенно приятно после насыщенного путешествия. Номер чистый и комфортный, всё необходимое было в наличии. Sauberkeit, Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals einschließlich des italienischen Manager und dessen Mutter, hervorragende Köche und Gastgeber, der Weg zum Strand ist sehr sicher, es ist eine insgesamt sehr solvente Umgebung mit ständiger Polizei und Militärpräsenz, am Wochenende kann man am Malecon bei lautstarker Musik abfeiern, die Unterkunft selbst ist ruhig gelegen, die Zimmer absolut Sauber und gepflegt, im Gegensatz zu einigen „Falschmeldungen“in den Kommentaren befinden sich in fussläufiger Umgebung mehrere kleine Kioske und Supermärkte, wo man alles notwendige für die Urlaubstage kaufen kann, man ist hier insgesamt mehr unter Einheimischen in einer guten Gegend, das 3 Sterne Hotel ist für Kreuzfahrer als „Zwischenstation“ zu empfehlen!!!

Very nice boutique type of hotel. Excellent breakfast included. Dinner was also good and reasonably priced. Staff assisted with getting us a taxi from the airport to the hotel and then one to the port for our cruise. I would definitely stay again.

I loved the family that owns this property! Vittoria and Giovanni are now my family! They welcome you like you’re one of their family! Giovanni is the chef there and talk about 5 star food! OMG! My meals there were some of the best that I have ever had! Their place is clean, safe and their staff is wonderful! If I go back to La Romana I won’t be staying anywhere else but here! Thanks Vittoria and Giovanni for a great stay!

I loved the family that owns this property! Vittoria and Giovanni are now my family! They welcome you like you’re one of their family! Giovanni is the chef there and talk about 5 star food! OMG! My meals there were some of the best that I have ever had! Their place is clean, safe and their staff is wonderful! If I go back to La Romana I won’t be staying anywhere else but here! Sehr schön angelegte und gepflegte Hotelanlage. Sehr familiär. Nette, hilfsbereite und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Giovanni vermittelt faire Taxis und Ausflüge. Zum Erholen ideal. Auch für Kinder sehr geeignet. Frühstück sehr lecker. Speisen im Restaurant sehr delikat vom Chef persönlich zu bereitet . Ich bin kein Restaurantkritiker aber 1 Stern hätte er verdient.

Nice small hotel in La Romana, good for people who want to remain independent of the all inclusive vibe. Most good restaurants are a 15 min drive away near the cruise terminal and that means a drive through crazy traffic at night but I survived without incident, hey ho. Not for the faint hearted though, motorcyclists that come from nowhere and some of them drive at night without lights. Good breakfast and if you want to eat at the hotel Giovanni is a great cook

We really liked the hospitality that we received from Giovanni and his family. We could calm down and relax. The Music at the pool area was very soothing and of different kinds of genre...from lounge, to classic rock even until ambience music from famous videogames. Our room was big, the shower worked good, the balcony/terrace was our place to be...the bed was huge and of good quality. What really need to be mentioned is the special menu that Giovanni will provide in the evening. It's a menu from all his experiences all over the world mixed up with his italian nature. We booked the place before and after our trip with a cruise ship, the terminal is close by (ten minutes by taxi...and you really want to take the taxi because the traffic and the motorbikes are crazy on the way).

Giovani was so helpful. He helped us with travel from the Punta Cana airport and then again to the port for our cruise. The Breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly. The location worked for us to walk to dinner on the ocean. We felt safe.

La struttura è super accogliente stanze arredate con gusto e pulite con tutto il necessario e un frigo bar compreso nel prezzo . Il gestore Giovanni una persona gentilissima disponibile in tutto , abbiamo conosciuto anche la madre anche lei si è resa subito accogliente. Ho mangiato una cucina italiana che mi ha fatto dimenticare di essere nella repubblica domenicana , carbonara da 10 neanche in Italia ne avevo mangiato di così buone . Nel nostro soggiorno di soli 3 gg Giovanni ci ha organizzato le escursioni e i vari trasferimenti non abbiamo dovuto pensare a niente . Consigliatissimo

Kleines Hotel/Hostal in ruhiger Lage. Die Zimmer waren sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Freundliches Personal. Für einen Kurztrip jederzeit wieder.

The staff were friendly, professional, and very hardworking. The hotel arranged a driver for pickup from Punta Cana, which was efficient and stress-free. Our room was clean, comfortable, and located on the second floor with a nice view of the courtyard. The food was excellent. Although the menu is limited, the quality was outstanding, and dinner was comparable to — or better than — many restaurants back home. The hotel is within walking distance (about 1 km) to a local beach that felt safe and had plenty of food and drink options. It was enjoyable watching local families spend time together. There is also a small store just a block away for water and beer. The hotel helped arrange another driver for our onward travel to our cruise, which made everything seamless. The property is quiet and perfect for relaxing — we chose to stay within the compound in the evenings.

Not everyone speaks fluent English, so some Spanish is helpful. That said, Google Translate worked well, and the staff were always patient and accommodating

Hotel ben posizionato vicino alla spiaggia (16 minuti a piedi) e a poca distanza in auto dal terminal crociere. I proprietari sono Italiani , gentilissimi. Il personale è molto disponibile e accogliente. Grande e ben fornita la camera, con bevande gratis in frigorifero. Ottima e varia la colazione dolce e salata servita ai bordi della piscina.

This family owned hotel is a hidden gem. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The grounds and pool were always neat and clean. Dining was beside the pool. The property was very secure. I would definitely recommend this hotel vs going to an all inclusive pre or post a cruise. Well done Giovanni, family, and staff.

Die Gartenanlage

1. Kakerlaken und Motten im Zimmer. Der Kühlschrank zu laut, die ganze Nacht hört man den Zug hupen. 2. Anlage sehr renovierungsbedürftig, Speisesaal eine Baustelle, Essen gab es draußen unter einem Blechdach. 3. Frühstück von 8-10, kamen halb 9 und es war kein Tisch mehr frei, um halb 10 dann gab es nicht mal Gläser. Frühstück sehr spärlich. Eierspeisen auf Bestellung sonst nur Toast und einen kleinen Obstteller. 4. Chef sehr unfreundlich. Mussten antreten, weil wir angeblich den Transfer zum Flughafen bei ihm bestellt hätten. Das haben wir nicht, wir fragten nur nach wie viel er kostet würde!!! 5. Über Hotel Ausflug gebucht. Wollten einen englisch sprechenden Guide, letztendlich saßen wir unter spanisch sprechenden Menschen und verstanden bei den Erklärungen kein Wort. 6. Beim Check out Schock: auf alles kamen noch 10% und 18% drauf, weil wir mit Kreditkarte bezahlt haben!!!!

Mit Herz geführtes Hotel ideal für Kreuzfahrt Touristen. Hotel Inhaber war sehr nett entgegenkommen und sehr hilfsbereit. Geräumiges Zimmer mit gut ausgestattetes Bad mit flauschigen Handtücher. Würde es weiter empfehlen. Bei meiner nächsten Kreuzfahrt ab la Romana würde ich dort wieder übernachten.

Schöne Zimmer, kleines Resort, man kommt in Kontakt mit anderen Gästen. Frühstück hervorragend, Abendessen himmlisch- unbedingt die Ravioli probieren!!!

Siamo rimasti sorpresi per l’accoglienza del personale di questo posto, nel quale ci siamo sentiti a casa. Tutti veramente molto professionali e calorosi, davvero complimenti. La struttura é piacevolmente piccola e curata, il che rende possibile una bellissima atmosfera e la cura di ogni cliente. Le camere sono molto ampie e ben condizionate. Ci siamo trovati molto bene anche nel ristorante, nel quale ci siamo sentiti ancora più a casa, a partire dal menu della colazione, fino a quello speciale della cena. Complimenti a Giovanni e a tutto lo staff. Assolutamente consigliato, grazie mille.
