imposible desayunar en un sitio lleno de botellas tiradas por todos los sitios, suciedad,mugre ,moscas....no hay suficientes palabras para describir el sitio .Debería ser revisado por booking para prohibir ser anunciado.Solo quería salir corriendo de allí. Creo que era algo parecido a un prostíbulo.

Great service and wonderful coffee. Great eggs, think they were local. Everything served poolside in the hotel courtyard area Locals came most afternoons on a pool daypass - they had a DJ and lots of family friendly fun

La struttura è vecchia,le camere non sono state pulite per 4 giorni,i codici delle camere sono tutti uguali e chiunque potrebbe entrare . Bagno con rubinetto rotto,finestra di fronte la doccia senza tende,ed abbiamo dovuto improvvisare coperture varie,il pomeriggio si organizzano feste in piscina per gente del posto dunque finisce il relax

Though the staff spoke little to no English, they were extremely kind and happy to help in any way that they could! The barmaid was particularly lovely, she kept checking on me to make sure I had everything I needed. If you are an English traveler, make sure you have a good translator app.

Unfortunately the water didn’t work first thing in the morning and there was no staff to tell. I spoke to other guests and they said it was the same for them. There are toilets by the outdoor pool… but there is no toilet paper.

No tenía agua caliente habían cucarachas en el cuarto y afuera tienen gallos que cantan Desde las 4 de la mañana y no te dejan dormir.

La struttura nel complesso è ok ma il letto era scomodo , rubinetto mani ostruito e l'acqua fuoriusciva o a schizzi o per niente. Nell'hotel c'è un cane che di notte abbaia sempre e non ho potuto dormire molto bene perché abbaiava anche per ore intere. Nel complesso se si desidera andare a La Romana consiglio non più di una notte, la città non offre granché a parte la spiaggetta. Considerando le condizioni della città , l'hotel si presenta bene

Enrique, his wife and all the staff were extremely kind people, they were always there for anything we needed. Also, the breakfast was awesome, tasty and the amount of food for a breakfast was stunning.

Again, reserved 1 BR apt, hotel doesn't have any, what's with "Booking.com"? told on arrival that apt was occupied so gave us "room with bed, private bathroom". Bedsheets paint stained, no hot water, no safe, foul smelling, place run down, not sure where pics come from. Have Tortuga Park, many turtles in there, maybe 20, shells moss covered, gross. Included breakfast with sour mangu, cold coffee, stale croissants, served under net as many flies.

Good staff, good breakfast. Walking distance to the beach. Good stay!

i like the hotel locaton and secure area

The breakfast was fresh, filling and delicious. Our room was clean, if a bit on the small side. We didn't realize when we booked that our hosts had little English speaking help and the language barrier was a bit of a problem at times. Every one was friendly and helpful though and the courtyard was beautiful!

They were hosting pool parties each day to help with revenue. Accessing the pool was difficult.

Great location and 24 hours security, Enrique is the best host ever. Hotel has nice outlay with pool, bar and des decorated area around. The breakfast was included and it was big and delicious and different every day. For your convenience there is room service for breakfasts or if you order something from restaurant. The restaurant menu has nice variety dishes with affordable prices. Right on the corner there is guagua stop so you can get to everywhere in La Romana for 40 DP or get the uber if you have luggage

We were excited to stay here but it felt very disappointing. At first, the entrance and parking were so hard to find. Then they didn’t know we were arriving. The very nice and polite young lady called the owner while we waited. We were offered a beverage (recommended by her) which we gratefully accepted. We knew there was a welcome drink provided and really, for the delay we should have been provided one. But surprisingly we were charged with the explanation that she was new, our room was ok. The bed was hard and the ac wasn’t working. After I told he owner, he came and checked and told us to let him know if not any better. I’m the end, we were switched rooms. There was a birthday party and the music was really loud. We wanted to partake in the pool but felt that that we would have intruded on the party. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. All in all, we felt that it missed its mark.

Das Hotel wird gerade umgebaut. Der neue Besitzer gibt sich Mühe. Aber im Zimmer kein Stuhl, im Bad weder Haken, noch Ablagen. Die Umgebung des Hotels sehr vermüllt. Es wird nach Fertigstellung sicher besser, bei Kurzübernachtung geht es. Gut waren Freundlichkeit und das Frühstück mit super Kaffee !!!

All this hotel is alive! The hotel was under construction and they were all the time making noises! I ran away after 1 night and never have been refunded! All the pictures are phony fake misleading! probably made by the computer aditting!

De locatie is een (kinder)zwembad voor locals met daarbij kamerverhuur met ontbijt. Dit mag de naam hotel niet voeren. Wij hebben er 2 nachten verbleven, kamer werd niet opgemaakt en handdoeken niet vervangen. Overdag zo druk met zwembadbezoek dat er geen zitgelegenheid meer voor gasten was en erg luide locale muziek. Zeker niet boeken als hotelverblijf, enig pluspunt is Caleta strand vlakbij.

The hotel was just right for my needs and even included a pool. Room had just the necessities when would need when going to the area to visit nearby places and you return for bed and relaxation. The pool and breakfast were an added plus. Management was awesome and attentive and the facility has private parking....

I took a daytrip to La Romana (from Punta Cana, where I was staying) and reserved this hotel for one night. It is a small, boutique-style property with a cool tropical vibe, nice pool, and solid bar. It's in a quiet little corner a few blocks away from the beach, so it was relaxing. Also, the personalized service is outstanding - they were very welcoming and accommodating. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the wifi and hot water were not really working properly, and to some people that might be a big issue. To me, it wasn't that serious... but in leaving an honest review, I had to at least mention it. Remember, though, this is the Dominican Republic... just like many small hotels in many countries, these inconsistencies are to be expected. Also, for the price, it was on par with what I expected - if you care about small details such as that, you should probably stay in a big resort anyway instead of a local spot like this. My experience overall was still positive - the room was nice (although basic), the atmosphere was very friendly, and the pool bar is a great place to chill out.

Enrique is a hands on owner with a very clean boutique hotel. Very nice pool area with a nice limited bar/restaurant. Francine is the bomb behind the bar. Everyone was very nice, and accommodating. It's really close to the beach with many restaurants and clubs. It's just far enough away to not be annoyed by the late night loud music.

We booked this hotel at the last minute as we wanted to travel around the island. Unfortunately when we arrived firstly we were told we could not check in and after some time we were finally allowed access. We had booked a queen room as advertised on hotels.com but were given a very tiny room with a very small bed! We were not impressed at all. The ac did not work and it was extremely hot in the room, the shower had cold water too! The next day we asked to change rooms, it was only slightly better but still no queen bed. After coming back in the evening to our room we found that it had ants crawling around everywhere, we had to move all our stuff and clean the room up before trying to attempt going to sleep. It was a terrible place to stay and totally missed advertised. Although if there was a single positive it was the host Enrique who tried his best.

The staff was wonderful. They helped us find a cool Catalina island party/snorkel boat and drove us there. For the price, it is a short walk to the local beach, and it has that authentic Caribbean feel with lively local people. They've got a cool dog named Gibbs!

We spent a day in La Romana and loved the location of Sol Azul. It was within walking distance of the beach where we were able to find some good food and enjoy the waterfront. The best part of our stay was the help that Enrique (the owner and manager) was willing to give to us as his guests. He took us in his personal car to run an errand and he made phone calls for us in an effort to book a tour and make sure we were taken care of. You don't meet many people as personable as he is, it definitely made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Since we arrived at the hotel, Enrique who is the owner of the hotel, provided us with an excellent service, he booked tours for us to Isla Catalina and Isla Saona for a very good price, and gave us the best advices about places and restaurants to visit. We had a very good time here and we strongly recommend this hotel, thanks again to Enrique and all the friendly staff!

A characterful hotel in a great location about 5 mins walk from the beach and a strip of bars and restaurants mostly frequented by friendly locals. The hotel itself is a little tired but the manager is quietly improving it. Thoroughly recommended but don't expect 5* luxury. The manager is very helpful and friendly and I am sure will do everything to make your stay a pleasant one

I liked it. Nothing to complain. Wi fi works and is free 24hours a day.

The owner of this hotel is very friendly and helpful and good at communicating. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Dutch and other languages. He has been in the country over 25 years and helpful with information.

Great place to stay at if you are on a budget and want to hang out with the locals. The food there is among the best we had on our entire holiday! John is full of experience and funny stories, and became a good friend of ours. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended :)

We stayed two nights in Sol azul and had a great time. The beach and seafood restaurants are really close by a 5 minute walk. The owner John was very kind and helpful and also Papo- the bell boy. We had a great real dominican expierence by staying in Sol Azul!

We spent a couple of nights in this hotel, while waiting to catch a cruise ship leaving from La Romana Port (the hotel is about 15 minutes drive from the port and from the airport). The structure is quite simple but clean, very quite in the night. The owner (a Dutch gentleman) lives in the hotel and directly takes care of the services (all the staff is very attentive and friendly) and is always available to supply any need of assistance (information, taxi services, etc.). The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Caleta beach, area with small restaurants and nice beach (even though it would need to be more carefully cleaned after the weekends). Anyway, food at the hotel was also good and well priced. We have not found any mosqitos in the hotel and our room window was anyway protected. We shall come back when for similar circumstances we will have to spend some nights in La Romana area.

Pieni hotelli jossa kiva henkilökunta ja omistaja. Huone pieni ja alkeellinen, mutta siisti. Suihkusta ei tullut kunnolla vettä. Ravintola hyvä ja edullinen. Lähistöllä ei muuta kuin paikallinen ranta. Rannalta sai hyvää kalaruokaa. Hyvä pysäkki jos on menossa vaikka risteilylle ja kaipaa edullista majoitusta. Netti toimi hyvin.

If you have a little adventure in you this place was great. The reviews are accurate. We had a great little dinner a block away by the beach. The room was clean and comfortable. John was a gracious host and very helpful.
