Comfy and clean, breakfast was great and location was great for getting to the coastal area quickly

Our superior room was incredible - really a suite! This was the best room and accomodation of our 18 day trip to Scotland. The furnishings were exquisite: loveseat, antique vanity desk and armoire. The amazing ceiling about 16 feet high! The staff were wonderful and welcoming. Ann on the front desk was wonderful.

Sadly we stayed on a Sunday and the restaurant was closed. We didn't get to enjoy the Angus steaks! Ann recommending a nearby hotel for dinner.

The staff was lovely and welcoming. The room was a good size (we had booked a suite) and the location was great. Bed was comfy.

The room was a bit dated and some parts of the room wasn't clean ie the window sill and around the window. One of the mugs wasn't clean too. Breakfast was okay. Big portions.

Bed covers and pillows could have been better. Our room was at the front of the hotel. There was a lot of noise well into the early morning.

Good room size and very comfortable bed with excellent pillows. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. Toiletries, hairdryer with diffuser, gowns,slippers all provided. Enjoyed sea bass for our evening meal. The breakfast was buffet style but with lots of cooked food choices alongside cereals pastries fruit etc. Welcomed into breakfast room and the set up explained. Hot drinks and toast were served to the table which was nice. All the staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful but a special mention goes to Molly who was lovely and served both our evening meal and breakfast. A ray of sunshine!

The only downside for us was the noise of the TV from another room. We had an adjoining with a locked door between. We were only staying the one night so it wasn’t really an issue just a minor thing to mention.

It’s 10 min walk from train station & 5 mins to the shops. It’s beautifully decorated. The rooms are spotless. Beds really comfy. The buffet breakfast was great. Staff are really friendly. This was my 2nd stay & it is definitely my go-to hotel whenever im in Montrose.

A return to a favourite hotel. Lovely room, well kept. The chef still creating beautiful dishes. A thought for the bar. Perhaps loose the two worn easy chairs at the window.

If you want a cosy, homely, family feel hotel, where you’re welcomed with open arms where nothing is too much trouble and excellent customer service is second nature, then this is the place for you. If you want a high end, faceless, robotic experience where everything on the surface looks perfect, then it’s probably not ! This is a hotel that is well used and loved and needs a bit of updating- the shower was a tad temperamental, but it worked and probably made me quicker than usual ! From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel I was a pain ! We’d been given a huge room, but with only a handheld shower, which upset me a tad - however, it was not a problem, whilst we went out to find food ( we were late and the restaurant was long since closed) a new room was found and a cosy corner in the coffee shop given over to us to eat our takeaway ! We ate in the restaurant- the food was sublime- utterly gorgeous and the breakfast was fabulous ! All the team were so very helpful and made the stay perfect. Big thank you to Marie who was amazing !

We stayed here for one night after attending a nearby football game. The hotel was in a lovely location across from the park and there was plenty of onsite parking. On entering the hotel at reception, you cannot miss the impressive staircase and the building has some lovely old features. Our room was clean although a little tired in places. The bed was comfortable, we had a great sleep and the shower was fine and a few complimentary toiletries were provided. My only real gripe with the room would be the lack of usable, accessible sockets. Breakfast was buffet style with certain items made to order and we found this to be a good breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly, spent ages talking to the receptionist about cats! All the staff were very helpful. We would use this hotel again.

Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es müsste renoviert werden. Aber das alte Gemäuer hat seinen Charme, wenn man abends beim Essen sitzt oder an der Bar. Das Personal macht alles wieder gut.

The staff were nice - what you need after a long day at work and the food was really good especially the haddock on the specials board. Location is good for access to work, shop and some good running routes.

plug sockets in my room were all on the skirting so couldnt get a charger in - needs updating.

Emplacement entre Dundee et Aberdeen. Parking gratuit devant l'hôtel. Petit-déjeuner à la carte lorsqu'il y a peu d'affluence (saumon fumé local, bacon et charcuteries également, haggis, black pudding, œufs, etc.), sinon sous forme de buffet. L'entrée avec le double escalier est sympa. Bouilloire avec thé et café (aussi décaféiné) et petits biscuits locaux chaque matin.

Ne correspond pas du tout à un 4 étoiles. Tout est vieillot, le radiateur fuyait, tout est en mauvais état.

An abysmal experience. Entered the coffee lounge. A few tables taken and others empty. No visible staff anywhere, stood 5 to 10 mins still no staff. Then decided to take a table, waited another 10 mins. Another customer returning from the toilet told us we would get served soon! A girl server appears says someone else was meant to have taken our order, she writes down our order, then disappears , wait 15 mins then go, 30 mins plus wasted, its as if local businesses dont want custom, we wont be back

Great room, very spacious (junior suite). 2 TVs Large bathroom, very clean and well appointed, both shower and bath. Lovely dining room, good food (breakfast and dinner). Helpful friendly staff.

The staff was really friendly and the rooms were clean. Location was great and there’s a park right across the streets for the kids. No problems with parking as the hotel has free onsite parking. The receptionist when we arrived with my two kids was very helpful and I am grateful for her everything.

Badewanne, keine Dusche. Keine Möglichkeit die Handbrause irgendwo anzuhängen. Keinerlei Spritzschutz an der Badewanne. Duschen somit fast unmöglich. Fön an der Wand defekt. Das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen, absoluter Investionsstau. Nicht zu empfehlen.

The room was clean, and the bed was lovely. I could work at the table provided. There were good locks on the door. Breakfast was served from 8 am, and I had to leave by 8.20 so I was glad that it a buffet style breakfast. I asked for a take away cup for my coffee, which they provided.

From having two locks on the door, there were no window locks. There was no way of putting the windows on vent and securing them. Anyone could have climbed in the window. The fire exit at the end of the corridor clearly does not shut - I pushed it with my finger in the morning and it swung open despite the assurances that the night porter would deal with it. Hot water - this only appeared in the shower with the hot tap swung right over to what should be scorching. I had my shower around 6.30 am on a Sunday so there should have been plenty of hot water in the system. The walls are thin.

I stayed over on the night before my wedding, the staff were incredibly friendly and made myself and my family feel very looked after. The food was fantastic, the rooms were clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for a memorable stay.

We stayed at The Links Hotel for 4 days in July, attending our goddaughter’s wedding. What a lovely hotel! We had a really nice room in the annexe, a super king bed and walk in shower as requested. Parking was easy, the staff were so nice and helpful, and mention must be made of Helen on reception and Alan (the manager?) who went above and beyond by helping us with directions and sorting out any little issues we had. The food was fabulous, we had the most delicious evening meals and breakfasts and we cannot speak highly enough of this little gem - should we return to this area, we will definitely stay here again.

The staff especially melody ...she is like a ray of sunshine 🌞 A really friendly great representative of the hotel.At breakfast time no matter how busy she had a big smile and a great welcome.A real asset to any company .

I would like to wholeheartedly commend the level of customer service delivery received at the Links hotel during my stay in July. Annie, June, Reece, and Molly. Provided what can only be described as the epitomy of customer care. Thee Professionalism, attentive, caring, Profesional, and friendly manner. Where an absolute joy. And made my stay as comfortable and lovely. As possible. Excellent customer service, has unfortunately deteriorated over the years. And it is thus refreshing to witness me old fashioned values of customer care, which excel even my expectations. The afore mentioned, are a credit to your organisation. That you couldn’t get evening meal at hotel on the Sunday & Monday had to go elsewhere.

Shame ☹️ Booked a room because of the ideal location for my needs. After struggling to find it, checked in and paid my room, on asking when the restaurant finished serving was told restaurant was closed that night and there was no food available in the restaurant or bar … there was no communication regarding this what so ever.. apparently chef had gone sick that week. Was told to go into town. Luckily I knew of another hotel in the area although not my perfect location they had rooms available, tbf the lady at reception refunded my room and I moved… my advice to the manager would be that if the chef goes sick at least have the courtesy of advising incoming guests.. had I known earlier I would’ve changed hotel avoiding an embarrassing situation for the receptionist.

The room was roasting. You could hear absolutely everything from the people in the next room . I had to find a staff member to be let out after 11:00 and in the booklets for the hotel you are told you can order small snacks and be delivered with room service but I was told there was nothing . that was disappointing

Wij kiezen altijd bewust voor hotels met restaurantfaciliteiten, omdat wij het prettig vinden om na een lange dag eropuit geweest te zijn ’s avonds in het hotel te kunnen dineren. Dat is voor ons een belangrijk onderdeel van het comfort tijdens een verblijf. Bij aankomst bleek echter dat het restaurant en de bar op zondag- en maandagavond gesloten zijn. Dit kwam voor ons als een onaangename verrassing, aangezien wij hier bij het boeken geen rekening mee hadden kunnen houden. Deze informatie stond niet vermeld in onze boekingsbevestiging en was ook niet duidelijk zichtbaar bij de boeking op de site van Booking.com Achteraf hebben wij gezien dat deze sluitingsdagen wel op de eigen website van het hotel worden vermeld, maar wij vinden dat dit soort belangrijke informatie ook via Booking.com duidelijk gecommuniceerd zou moeten worden. Hierdoor hadden wij vooraf een beter geïnformeerde keuze kunnen maken, wat in ons geval helaas niet mogelijk was. We always deliberately choose hotels with restaurant facilities, as we appreciate the convenience of being able to have dinner at the hotel after a long day out. For us, this is an important part of a comfortable stay. However, upon arrival we discovered that the restaurant and bar are closed on Sunday and Monday evenings. This came as an unpleasant surprise, as we had not been able to take this into account when making the booking. This information was not included in our booking confirmation and was also not clearly visible at the time of booking on the Booking.com website. Afterwards, we noticed that these closing days are mentioned on the hotel’s own website, but we believe that such important information should also be clearly communicated via Booking.com. As a result, we were not able to make a fully informed decision in advance, which was disappointing in our case.

The entry way was very nice, lovely staricase and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Good shower products, soft towels.

I specifically requested a room accessible via lift or on the ground floor and was assured that I would get this. However upon arrival I was informed that our rooms were not on the ground floor, there was no lift and the hotel was fully booked so no other rooms were available. It's lucky we just needed it because we had a lot of kit and not because either of us had a disability. I hate to think what would have happened had one of us been unable to cope with stairs at all. I noticed a lot of black hairs in the bathroom both on the floor and by the sink, which made it feel very unclean to me.

This hotel has a 4 star sign outside but not sure when it actually received that rating. The staff were friendly and room ok. 2 comfy seats which we appreciated and large comfy bed. Room had been upgraded in certain areas. The poor veranda double glazing was now not working efficiently so there was a haze over the window. Which obscured very nice location and park across from hotel. Outside veranda needed weeding and cleaning up. Food in evening excellent . Lady with dark hair very friendly but had hands full training staff. She did a super job. Pleasant at all times. Breakfast Saturday very good with super choices ,Sunday was like eating in a different hotel.,very poor buffet. Eggs inedible. Everything lying out too long and absolutely no choices outwith buffet. Looked as if great chef from previous evening had a day off !! This hotel could be a super place if they renovated, simple tidied up gardens at front and verandas,,adding some better outside furniture with parasols,and hireing extra staff. But making sure they kept excellent evening chef!!! Wel

FRIENDLEY HELPFUL STAFF. EXCELLENT DINNER AND BREAKFAST

Amazing architecture. There were many origanal features of the property still in situ including the beatiful ceiling above the main staircase and stained glass on it. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, with a particular shout out to the receptionist and breakfast waitress. Loved the smoked salmon for breakfast.

The view frim room 15 was disappointing but the room itself had everything we needed fot a one night stay.
