Reviewed Sep 14, 2026I was able to park on a side street nearby (lucky). The place was very clean and it was okay for one night
I did not receive any advance communication on how to get inside the place. Someone let me in the front door and I was able to get someone on the phone to help me get in. I could not figure out some of the controls in the room. There is no king size bed. It is 2 beds pushed together. If you sleep in the middle, you'll be between mattresses. The place seemed one step above dorms

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026I had a really great experience. The accommodation was comfortable, welcoming, and in a fantastic location. The food was excellent, with plenty of great choices, and everything was fresh and tasty. The location is also very convenient, with shops nearby and excellent transport links, making it easy to get around and explore the area. There isn’t staff on-site, as it is a self-service setup, but the customer service is excellent. If you have any questions or need assistance, the contact number is always available, and the team is very helpful and responsive. I really appreciated knowing that help was available whenever needed. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend Carroll’s to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay, great food, and a convenient location. I would definitely stay here again!
The only small issue I noticed was a smell in the bathroom. I’m not sure where it was coming from, but hopefully this can be addressed. Other than that, I had a lovely stay.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026We spent 2 nights here to explore Glendalough. Had a room towards the back of the hotel, so nice and quiet. Great shower, nice to have nespresso in the morning and only a 10 minute walk to the boulevard. Super easy to check in. Communication through Booking was quick and good. It's good value for money. And Herbert Car Park is around the corner. For early morning coffee I highly recommend the lovely people at Gusto Italiano!
You cannot pay ahead at Herbert Car Park, only for the day you are there. So you have to renew your ticket at 7.30am for the new day. Maybe there are other car parks around, didn't check.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026Firefly Carrolls is in a central location in Bray with a carpark a few hundred metres away and cafes in easy distance. The rooms are very clean comfortable and well decorated. When i had an issue it was resolved immediately.
The flush and water in our bathroom weren’t working on arrival but after a quick phone call we were moved to another room. Impressed with time to resolution. The single bed had a single duvet in a double cover which meant i ended up tangled and fighting with sheets all night. Vending machine had water and nuts only and was mostly empty. Nowhere to eat.

I kept getting messaged from Booking.com saying that Firefly had messaged them saying that my psyment hadn't gone through when they had been paid in Full. I got no satisfaction when I contacted each of them because they each blamed the other. No Parking had to get up every morning at 7:20 am to pay for Parking. Air Conditioner didn't work. No Staff on site.

1. Que me reclamaba el pago de la habitación sin hackear enviado el link del mismo. He tenido que llamar por teléfono para poder aclararlo. 2. Una noche en el hotel había una pareja en otra habitación discutiendo y dando golpes. He tenido que llamar al teléfono de contacto del hotel y es verdad que después de llamar no se escucharon más ruidos.

Unfortunately, compared with my previous stay, I was quite disappointed this time. The cleanliness was only average, and there was a very strong unpleasant smell in the room, possibly coming from the sewage system. I opened the window fully, but the smell became even stronger and it was very difficult to stay in the room. There was also constant noise from the water and drainage system, which was disturbing, especially at night. As there is no staff on site, there was no one available to report these issues to during my stay.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Velmi dobře umístěné na hlavní ulici, dostatečně podrobně popsaný vstup do hotelu a pokoje. Velmi pohodlná postel a velká sprcha, funkční klimatizace.
Hotel nemá výtah, s těžkým kufrem do druhého patra je náročnější. Při delším pobytu mi chyběla alespoň malá lednice. Jinak vše v pořádku.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026The staff were excellent and very communicative. The room was clean, functional, and modern, with all the basic amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. A big plus was the air conditioning, which made sleeping much more comfortable during the hot days. I would definitely choose this hotel again.
Some of their room face the road so hotel needs to invest in better soundproofing as it gets very loud and if you are a light sleeper you would not be able to sleep. If you have a luggage, be mindful that there was no elevators so you should be able to carry them up-to 2 floors.

The only suggestion I would make is that the room and the bathroom could have been a bit bigger but all in and all it is a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

Nous avons trouvé que les chambres étaient très chères. La chambre avec un lit deux places avait un espace correct. La chambre avec deux lits étaient beaucoup moins spacieuses. Il est assez étrange de ne pas rencontrer de personnel pour accueillir. Tout se fait avec un code d'accès et un contact et une validation du paiement en amont.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Situated on Main Street and 5 mins walk from beach. Facilities were excellent. Very comfortable and clean. Brochure giving useful info. All instructions were very clear. Shower was larger than most and the best I’ve come across for ease of use.
Parking car was awkward due to location but I managed to find a space on a street close by so that was ok. Otherwise it would have been much further.
