Musa Bintang Villas and Bungalows Gili Air

The location was great, a little out of the way of the night life noise. Visually, the venue is very nice and relaxing, the rooms were very clean and spacious. The breakfast was nice each morning. Most of the staff were lovely. The pool was clean and due to only 4 cabins on the property, it was very private and not busy. Internet was good/strong and consistent.

Due to the size of the whole place, being small (which is very nice), and the cabins not insulated, you can hear everything. Our cabin was right next to the check-in area and where you can buy drinks and there was music quite loud, up until 10pm each night. That's usually fine but when we had early mornings each day, sleep was important earlyish each night. One of the nights I looked out of my window later in the night and there were no patrons, just staff, singing Eminem on top note. This venue is not a bar, it's accommodation, where people come back to relax and sleep, so maybe try and keep a check on that? Due to our villa being at the entry and near check-in, we had to keep our blinds down mostly for privacy - we missed the beautiful outlook that the place has (Rm 1). Otherwise, this place would have rated a lot higher (8), as the rest was excellent.

Very nice place. Friendly staff happy to help and doing everything to make your stay as best as possible. Villa was huge , 2 seperate bedrooms with bathroom each. . In main bathroom was huge bath. Private swimming pool big enough to cool down after sunny day.

Unfortunately I couldn't fill up huge bath with warm water to take bath. I believe water heater tank did not supplying enough hot water. So big bath was there but impossible to fill it all up with warm water.

Breakfast took a long time, a lot of insects and bad pressure in the shower. Didn’t feel clean. They didn’t clean our room even though they said they would. Staff was just there, not very helpful sadly

Cuando llegas a Musa, lo sientes hogar. Es un lugar muy auténtico donde se respira paz. Las instalaciones son super bonitas. las cabañas además de preciosas son muy confortables! Cama muy grande, cómodisimas y todo muy limpio. Cuidan hasta el mínimo detalle. El staff es muy atento y amable. Un 10 en todos los sentidos ! Sin duda repetiríamos.

Lovely villa, had everything we needed

Decent breakfast. Stayed in the private-pool villa, spacious bathroom with good heat and water pressure in the shower. Property is kept clean and tidy. Umami is wonderful - friendly and professional, did his best when we tried to check in the first time.

Musa double-booked us and turned us away at check-in, leaving us to fend for ourselves. Gave the room to other people who had booked a shorter stay via AirBnB because they had paid up-front. We had booked several months in advance and received multiple confirmations. Management blamed Booking.com for the double-booking instead of taking responsibility and offering us any adequate level of compensation (they offered to pay for our transfers, a dinner and a reduced rate to stay three nights at the end of our trip). An off-site manager only seemed concerned about us canceling our reservation on Booking.com so that Musa wasn't charged. We were told by staff that it wasn't the first time this had happened - other travelers to Musa Bintang had also had to navigate the double-booking debacle. Luckily it was low-season so we were able to find lovely accommodation elsewhere on the island, literally at the last minute. We stayed at Musa Bintang for the final few nights of our journey as we had been looking forward to it, however we found it to be less pleasant than the alternative accommodation we were forced to find. The bed in the private pool villa was extremely hard and uncomfortable. Lots of mosquitoes - other properties would burn coils in the evenings but Musa didn't bother. One manager was particularly surly with us and made us feel unwelcome, not the warm, friendly service that is fairly standard throughout Indonesia. Would not stay here again unless ownership changed hands. Cannot recommend - there are nicer, quieter and better-run places on Gili Air.

Beautiful room and outside pool area, the staff was so helpful and kind, the accommodation just had a good feel to it. If I ever come back to Gili Air, I would 100% stay here again. Miss you Musa!

we actually stayed at the other property (musa villas) due to a booking error! the staff were very lovely and accomodating, and let us stay even past checkout to wash up after a snorkelling trip. breakfast was lovely too.

My partner and I had such a nice stay here. The room was cozy and felt like a cute little wooden shack. Staff were so friendly, chill and accomodating. I came down with Bali belly and they made me a special charcoal drink that helped. Breakfast is really nice and the location is in the middle of everything. Just a quick ride to any beach or restaurant. Such good value for money!

Uns hat die geräumige Villa mit privatem Pool gut gefallen. Es gibt genügend Platz um das Gepäck abzustellen. Eine Küche mit grossem Kühlschrank. Wir haben vor allem das überdachte Deck über der Küche genossen im Abends noch draußen zu sitzen oder morgens zum Yoga. Wunderbares Frühstück! Wir würden wieder hingehen.

Alles ausserhalb des Zimmers, empfanden wir als weniger sauber und gepflegt. In der Küche war nur wenig Geschirr, 2 Kaffee Tassen haben wir aber gleich bekommen auf Anfrage. Kaffee und Tee gab es keinen, wie sonst gewohnt. Es waren keine Matratzen vorhanden für die Liegen am Pool. Diese waren angeblich kaputt.

Staying at Musa Bintan Villas & Bungalows was simply incredible. The traditional wooden Budenhaus style gives the place a unique, authentic charm. The staff is amazing: warm, attentive and always ready to help with anything. The breakfast is excellent, fresh and delicious every morning. Everything is kept spotlessly clean, and the whole vibe of the place just makes you feel at home from the first minute. I would 100% come back. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately our room was not to the standard expected based on the price. The laundry and room smelt to the point where we cut our stay short after only 1 night, and found elsewhere for the remainder of our stair on Gili A. Has a lot of potential should this be resolved.

Perfect Island Getaway! Our stay at Musa Bintang Villas & Bungalows was absolutely amazing! The place is spotless, beautifully decorated, and full of charm. The wooden design gives it a cozy, tropical feeling, and the pool area is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Gili Air. The staff were wonderful always friendly, smiling, and ready to help with anything we needed. The attention to cleanliness and comfort really made the difference. Breakfast was amazing. We felt completely at peace here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxing stay on Gili Air!

A truly beautiful place, an oasis of calm in Gili Air. The staff are wonderful and incredibly kind. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, cozy, and feature a dreamy outdoor bathroom. We would love to come back!

Nice, quiet complex in the center of the island. Breakfast was delicious and the bungalows were spacious. The resting area in front of the bungalows were very comfortable.

The complex seems to be in dire need of renovation in some areas (pool, etc.), and the bungalows are also very sparsely furnished. That wouldn't be a big problem if the price weren't so high. Due to a change in plans, we spent another night on Gili Air and had accommodation that was of a higher standard in some aspects but only cost half as much. The price-performance ratio is no longer right there.

Le personnel a été très accueillant, et en particulier Umami, qui a fait preuve d’une grande gentillesse. J’ai beaucoup apprécié son attention. Le petit-déjeuner était également très bon.

Honnêtement, j’ai été surpris par les bons avis concernant cet hébergement, car je pense qu’il a vraiment besoin d’une rénovation. Tout le bois, que ce soit celui des villas ou du sol autour de la piscine, doit être refait ou au moins verni, car l’endroit ne ressemble plus aux photos. Dans la chambre, la climatisation ne fonctionnait presque plus. Il n’y avait pas de mini-frigo. La douche était bouchée. L’eau du robinet et de la douche avait un goût étrange. Les jardins n’étaient pas bien entretenus — on voyait plus de terre que de végétation. Je pense que ce lieu pourrait être agréable avec un vrai entretien, mais en l’état actuel je ne le recommande pas pour le prix proposé sur booking.

Je ne comprend pas comment un tel établissement peux recevoir d’avis positifs. Déjà, cela ne ressemble pas au photo. Logement rustique avec des trou un peu partout qui laisse rentrer les potentiel insecte… Des insectes, on est à Bali on peux comprendre. En rentrant, j’ai eu une grosse tache sur les draps, le gars a la réception me dit que c’est du caca de gecko et explose de rire… Je lui demande donc un autre draps. En l’installant je me rend compte que celui ci est taché et sale. Nous sortons et quand nous revenons nous avons la magnifique surprise en levant le draps d’une centaine d’insecte dans le lit! Et le gars de l’accueil me dit que c’est totalement normal… Je met les photos. Pas de remboursement bien sûr alors que nous avons passer 1 nuits sur trois dans cet établissement. À FUIR !!!

We had an incredible 5 night stay here! It’s a really small place with only a few villas, which have it a real family feel. The staff were incredible, they were so friendly and chatted to us every time we left or came back, asking what we were up to that day and giving great advice on where to see turtles, where to eat etc. They organised bikes for us to rent (for very cheap) and they gave us snorkels to take out each day for free. We even said we fancied going to Lombock for the day and they arranged this all for us for the next morning! The location is perfect as you can walk everywhere easily and quickly but it feels like you’re tucked away in your own little paradise. We had the most relaxing stay ever!

The villa grounds are peaceful and beautifully maintained, with a dreamy pool that offered the perfect place to cool off during the day. Our room was cleaned daily with care, fresh linen and towels always ready — it's the kind of attention to detail that really sets this place apart. Little bit more isolation would be welcome, e.g. fill cracks and gaps. Mosquito's love me but the feeling isn't mutual ;) there is a Mosquito net for the bed though!

Very nice place. Staff is super friendly but professional and helpful at the same time. Room clean, bid, and comfortable. But it gets 9/10 with the benefit of the doubt for upcomming renovation. Decking around the pool needs to be changed immediately due to its state. Despite I was with kids, I wouldn't recomend with small kids upon that being done. In places nails sticking out.

Getting old. Needs some renovation. Apparently, it is coming up. Air-conditioning is installed inside, but due to the structural opening, it is inefficient (specifically in the daytime). The swimming pool decking is falling apart.

Amazing staff, all so sweet and helpfull and always there for a little chat. The breakfast was amazing!! The room was also more then perfect. Amazing shower, big room and the bed was really comfortabele. Also nice to have a little pool. Best is to rent a bike, then it is perfect to go everywhere. 4 nights were not enough and i would love to go back. Really recommend staying here. Thanks again to the staff!

I've stayed in many hotels in my life, and this one was definitely one of the most exceptional. I would describe it as a "4-star adventurer." It's ideal if you're looking for a certain level of comfort and quality service, while still being immersed in the island's authenticity. The staff is incredibly kind and generous. They will advise you on activities and good places to visit with complete honesty and kindness. I can only recommend this establishment. We stayed at Musa Bintang for three nights, which was way too short an we were really sad to leave! This place is an absolute gem. With only a few rooms nestled in the middle of the island, it feels super cozy, peaceful, and chill. Everything you need is within walking distance, including stunning beaches, and the location is perfect for exploring. The rooms are modern, spacious, and spotless, and the pool area with sunbeds is a great spot to relax. But what truly makes Musa Bintang special is the incredible staff. The team is beyond amazing, so warm, fun, and always willing to help. A special shoutout to Udin and Putra, who made our stay extra memorable. Thank you both for your kindness, great conversations, and for making us feel so at home! Breakfast was another highlight, with a great variety of delicious options to start the day right. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we can’t wait to come back!

My room was amazing, really very beautiful and the staff at the breakfast were very attentive.

Sometimes they forgot to change the towels but you just need to ask and they do it.

Everything a put this Lotte Oasis was perfect. So friendly staff, breakfast was the best we had for the whole month we where traveling. The room was amazing… I would recommend this for everyone both families and couples.

The staff were so friendly and lovely and always helpful if anything was needed at all. They were always sweeping up, cleaning and working hard. They gave us lots of water. The pool is nice and we liked the double outside bed for chilling on. Nice breakfast is also included and you can rent bicycles from the hotel.

The location is okay, around a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. However, with it's close proximity to the mosque and the nearby cockerels, we found it very difficult to sleep. The morning call to prayer woke us up every morning at around 4.45am, as it's so loud and projected. Then it was so hard to go back to sleep as the cockerels sound like they're outside your room and they're extremely loud. It's like they're screaming and this goes on for hours. Although the hotel is quiet itself, we didn't find it very peaceful or picteresuqe, with it's location. The room was fine, quite dark and basic. We couldn't fault the lovely staff though and that makes a huge difference. They always had smiles on their faces.

Musa Bintang Villas are beautiful place to stay. The property was clean, staff were friendly and did not hesitate to help organise anything when requested. The breakfast was lovely, especially the banana pancake! The location is central so only took 10-15 minutes to get anywhere on the island.
