Very authentic. Great spa. Friendly staff.

Sleeping arrangement upstairs and having to walk outside and downstairs for toilet / sink. But by no means would that put us off going again! It was a beautiful room!

Ce qui fait vraiment la différence c’est le staff qui est exceptionnel. Hyper attentionné et sympa sans en faire trop comme on a pu l’avoir dans d’autres hôtels en Indonésie. Un énorme merci notamment à Éric, Didin et Legenda pour leur sympathie et leur sens du service exceptionnel.

La plafond et la salle de bain de notre chambre standard mériteraient un petit coup de rafraîchissement pour être aux standards d’un hôtel de luxe (raison pour laquelle je n’ai pas mis 10, mais les villas comme la shore les valent sûrement)

The Villa is beautifully designed and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival, they prepared to receive you with welcome drinks, fruits and smiles. Great detailed tips were given about the island, how to go around, where to do activities and delicious food recommendations. I stayed two nights in the sunset room, which surprised me with the nicely designed balcony upstairs and garden in the front. It brings great privacy and is immersive in nature. I was updated to a private pool villa last night, it was an absolutely fantastic experience, very beautiful Villa loft and home feeling. It is also with great privacy among other villas. Everything is arranged with detailed consideration. Spacious in balconies both upstairs and downstairs. All facilities are well maintained. I absolutely want to revisit again! Plus, the bed is so comfortable, and the sheets smell great. They even put the Aloe gel in the fridge! What other details can you think of, it's there! The staff is also very helpful on bookings of activities. I highly recommend people to stay there. The location is great too, few steps, you'll arrive at the best sunset spot!

Este hotel es un sueño, preciosas todas las instalaciones, la decoración es espectacular. Todo el personal del hotel es muy agradable, así como en el spa. Nos ha encantado todo. La villa que cogimos era perfecta para 2 y el desayuno estaba buenísimo. Las bicis que te facilitan en el hotel para moverte por la isla están genial. Sin duda sitio para repetir. Hemos estado muy a gusto en este hotel.

Atención cálida y cercana. El personal fue muy amable, en especial Legenda y Didin. La ubicación fue muy buena, cerca del mar, pero tampoco al lado con el ruido de los eventos nocturnos de la playa.

Really peaceful but conveniently located resort that has a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. Strikes a lovely balance between luxury and down to earth, with beautiful grounds and design features. Communication with the team, kitchen and spa was all seamless, they are very responsive, seem very cohesively organised and oriented entirely to giving guests a wonderful experience. The spa ladies were especially lovely! Little touches in the resort like complimentary water, bikes, snorkelling equipment go a long way to creating a homely and generous atmosphere.

We enjoyed having a private pool in our villa. The Resort is quite & relaxing. The food & drinks are delicious.

We were woken every night by the neighbouring roosters. I suggest you take ear plugs to try to get a good night's sleep. We also put on a white noise sound to try to help too.

The air-conditioning needed tweaking as the room was hot. They did this and much better but still bot super cool. Also we didn't have a private pool and the main one was a bit small

Our stay at ''the shore'' by Villa Tokay was honestly the best experience we’ve ever had. The property is beautiful, incredibly quiet, and offers a level of privacy that is hard to find. The villa is spacious, spotless, and very well-designed - it’s perfect and room for two families to stay comfortably. We also appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, which had everything we needed. The staff deserves a special mention as they were so kind, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. It was a lovely touch to have high-quality snorkeling gear and bikes provided and it made our time on the island much more convenient. The breakfast was outstanding, and as coffee lovers, we were very impressed with the quality they served. We also spent some time at the spa, which was a highlight of the trip. This is easily the best place we’ve stayed at so far. If you're looking for a peaceful, high-end retreat on Gili Air, this is definitely it.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Villa Tokay. Everything was perfect from start to finish, the atmosphere, the service, and the attention to detail were all exceptional. There is honestly nothing to complain about, we loved every moment of our stay and would happily come back again.

De villa, the wave was prachtig, stijlvol, privé en perfect in harmonie met de natuur, waardoor je hier echt helemaal tot rust komt. De spa was absoluut een hoogtepunt. De serene omgeving en de professionele therapeuten zorgen voor een diepe ontspanning. De behandelingen voelen persoonlijk en met aandacht uitgevoerd, waardoor je volledig kunt loslaten en genieten. Ook het restaurant was indrukwekkend. Elk gerecht was verfijnd, smaakvol en bereid met verse, kwalitatieve ingrediënten. De sfeer, vooral ’s avonds, is warm en intiem en maakt de ervaring compleet. We really enjoyed our stay a lot. The staff was very friendly and the resort was amazing. Very beautiful design. We loved hanging out at the shared pool in the middle of the resort. The cocktails were excellent! The location is great, a quiet side of the island, but still close to everything. Apparantly the road has recently been renewed. We loved the bicycles we got upon arrival to explore the island ourselves.

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Villa Tokay in Gili Air. Honestly, it’s one of the most unique and beautiful places we’ve ever experienced. We stayed in both The Leaf and The Swell villas, and each of them was simply breathtaking. The architecture alone is incredible, almost cathedral-like, with impressive high ceilings and stunning design details. The villas feel like a perfect mix of luxury and nature. The private pools, the nets where you can relax above the water, the open yet intimate atmosphere… everything is designed to make you feel completely disconnected from the outside world. The entire property is a true oasis. The main pool surrounded by lush vegetation is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you instantly slow down and recharge. The restaurant was also excellent, with delicious food and a great ambiance. The spa is just as stunning and offers a perfect moment of relaxation. Every space in this hotel feels carefully designed and incredibly aesthetic. Another thing we really appreciated: they provide bikes to explore the island and snorkeling gear, which makes the experience even more enjoyable and seamless. And the location is perfect, just a short 3-minute walk from the beach, while still being tucked away in a quiet and serene environment. Everything was flawless from start to finish. We loved staying at Villa Tokay. The resort is beautifully designed and the staff is simply amazing. We received bicycles to go around the island, which was very attentive and convenient. We got a great introduction upon check-in about both the resort and the island, which is amazing, we immediately felt at home! All the staff is really friend and really tried to help us with anything. The breakfast was delicious. We also had lunch and dinner which we really yenjoyed. The lunch is a bit more casual, but very comforting, while the dinner was really elevated (we tried the 7-course dinner). We also had a couples massage at the Spa which was lovely. We'll definitely be back at some point!

Nous avons trouvé à Villa Tokay notre définition du luxe : un endroit incroyable, beau, raffiné sans être ostentatoire, un goût sûr, une équipe d’une formidable gentillesse et réactivité et un restaurant de grande qualité. La localisation est idéale et le prêt des vélos de bonne qualité permet de découvrir facilement toute l’île. Nous avons été très chanceux de découvrir ce lieu et espérons pourquoi pas y revenir un jour.

It all looks lovely and is nicely styled, but seeing the ratings and our other experiences in Bali we had very high expectations. We were in a sunset villa, which was a bit dissapointing- a lot of the photos they use in the marketing are of the private villa’s so bear that in mind when booking. It did not have a (sunset) view, the shower broke, the doorlock did not work and generally the room was very basic. Also at main area for breakfast there was maintanance every morning. The breakfast was quite limited and we needed to pay for extra coffee- which is very strange in a ‘luxury’ hotel. The staff was nice but reactive and overall it felt much less personal then expected and it felt the private villa’s were more important.

Chiesto upgrade in camera con piscina di una sola categoria superiore rispetto alla camera sunset prenotata perché vista disponibile online, loro hanno preso tempo, l’hanno tolta dalle disponibilità e “offerto” prima upgrade in una villa da 4 persone ad una tariffa spropositata. Poi quando hanno visto che io ho fatto gli screenshot e la camera con piscina privata veniva poco di più rispetto a quello che avevo pagato, l’hanno tolta alle vendite e mi hanno proposto un free upgrade di una sola notte nella stanza che avevo segnalato. Non volevo nulla gratis ma nemmeno essere presa in giro. Il prezzo che ho pagato per 4 notti non valeva quella camera.

Colazione buona, anche se con un po' di appetito ci sono un sacco di extra a pagamento. Personale davvero gentile. Posizione ok per muoversi a piedi, ma comunque offrono bici gratuite. Buoni gli snack del menù giornaliero del ristorante.

Una notte in "the leaf": camera scomoda. Il bagno è al piano di sotto con scale rumorose e scivolose fa fare. Piscina privata non troppo pulita e non è stato fatto il riassetto serale, fondamentale in quella camera. Ristorante serale non troppo all'altezza.

Cameretta semplice e un po piccola rispetto alla media, ma pulita e funzionale. Riassetto serale molto apprezzato con l'accensione degli zampironi. Colazione buona, ma limitata a poche scelte gratuite (tanti extra)

There was very loud music from a close hotel that kept us awake until 3am. This was out of Villa Tokays control but something to consider.

Our stay at Tokay was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The hotel is aesthetically very beautiful and with great attention to detail. It is located in a quieter area of the island but just a 2-minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from the main street. Our “room” was extremely spacious and comfortable, including a private pool, a kitchen with an outdoor table (where breakfast was served) and a relaxation area with sofas and beanbags on the upper floor (for our exclusive use). The staff were extremely attentive and incredibly kind, always aware of our needs and available to help with any additional services or questions. The hotel uses a WhatsApp communication system, so you only need to send a message to request any type of service and you get a real-time response. We read some reviews about the hotel and honestly, we had absolutely nothing negative to mention. There is a spa service (which we used), bicycles available at any time for guests, and an excellent restaurant. Our days at Tokay were excellent. The ideal place to rest and relax in the middle of the island, without worries.

the villa itself is beautiful and comfortable and really exceptional, the restaurant and its staff is also really really good (except for breakfast, for some reason we found breakfast really disappointing which was strange since we also had lunch and dinner there and it was exceptional), the manager is also really kind the spa was also really nice and with kind staff

- we were told someone would pick us up from the boat but after more than 15 mins waiting we started walking on our own - we were not asked for feedback ever - breakfast was really not to our liking and few options, despite the lunch and dinner we had there being absolutely amazing - they send lots of automatic messages offering services even if we have already hired those services which I found lacks a lot of attention to detail - it was our honeymoon and all other hotels we stayed at (most cheaper than this one), gave us a nice arrangement and/or cake on arrival. We had only a card (which we appreciated of course) from Villa Tokay (no attention to detail)

Le personnel, la beauté du lieu et les activités proposées !

Le personnel est très attentionné et aux petits soins, excepté l’accueil à l’avant de l’hôtel. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, servi en chambre sans supplément ce qui est appréciable. Les espaces sont très beaux et décorés avec goût. La literie est confortable.

Attention à l’accueil, nous étions déjà sur l’île et n’avons pas été accueillis au port. À la réception, l’accueil a été froid et désagréable, avec le sentiment d’avoir été jugés sur notre apparence (sacs de randonnée, tenue simple). Sur Booking, l’accès à cinq piscines est mis en avant, mais en réalité, avec une villa « simple », l’accès se limite à une seule piscine. Celle-ci manque d’entretien : à plusieurs reprises, nous avons retrouvé des frelons asiatiques morts flottant ou au fond du bassin. Les photos présentées sur Booking sont également trompeuses : beaucoup correspondent à des villas privées auxquelles les clients des chambres standards n’ont pas accès. Concernant notre villa, la surface annoncée de 60 m² inclut en réalité les espaces extérieurs, la chambre étant bien plus petite. La chambre est peu hermétique, ce qui entraîne la présence de nombreux moustiques. Dans la salle de bain, une large ouverture non protégée par une moustiquaire sert de VMC, ce qui accentue le problème. Des serpentins et un répulsif étaient mis à disposition, mais leur forte odeur est désagréable ; des diffuseurs électriques inodores auraient été préférables. La connexion Wi-Fi est instable et se coupe régulièrement le soir. Par ailleurs, des soirées techno sont organisées sur la plage à 200 mètres, avec une musique qui se prolonge jusqu’à 2 ou 3 heures du matin. L’insonorisation de la chambre étant très mauvaise, le repos devient difficile. Pour un tarif avoisinant les 250 € la nuit, nous attendions un niveau de confort et de tranquillité bien supérieur.

Le personnel est très agréable et vraiment aux petits soins. L endroit est vraiment très beau. Et on est proche de tout.

Gorgeous property with ideal private villas. Cutest pick up in the horse cart and we had an epic snorkelling experience. Astrid gave us fantastic tips and made our stay absolutely perfect start to finish.

Nous avons passé un séjour INOUBLIABLE au sein de la villa Tokay!!! Tout était tout simplement parfait ! Le lieu est à couper le souffle, les villas (nous avions la Tide1) sont spacieuses, propres (les serviettes sont changées tous les jours si vous le souhaitez et pareil pour le ménage), magnifiquement décorées, caaaalme, et la piscine privée est vraiment un vraiiii plus. Côté personnel que demander de plus? Ils sont d’une gentillesse sans pareil, toujours disponibles, très réactifs et toujours de bon conseil (Un grand merci à la manager avec qui nous avons adoré discuter). Ils nous on même fait une surprise car ils savaient que nous venions pour notre anniversaire de mariage. Côté restauration les petits déjeuners servis dans la villa à l’heure que vous souhaitez sont à tomber par terre. Côté prestations il y a beaucoup de possibilités (et ils élargissent encore leur catalogue (spa notamment)) et nous avons pu faire organiser directement avec l’hôtel notre A/R depuis le speed boat et une excursion privée de snorkelling sur les 3 îles Gili. Donc vous l’aurez compris la villa Tokay c’est le paradis sur terre !

Le seul point négatif c’est que l’on a dû en partir 😅. Mais nous reviendrons c’est certain !

I loved everyhting about the hotel. The location is amazing and is on the sunset part of the island with good restaurant as well. The staff is awesome and will do anything to make your stay incredible. We were welcome in the harbour with a horse carriage which was really cool to go to the villas. The villas were beyond our expectations and the breakfast served directly at the villa was perfect for our little family. Would definitly recommend.

This place is a paradise on Gili Air. The staff, the villa and location is so great. You will be meet by the most kind and helpful staff and the villa is to die for. Remember to read the little guest book in your room that has lovely words and great recommendations from former guests.

Amazing!!! From the moment I was picked up from the port to the moment I left villa. Although my villa was one of the smaller villas it was still so beautiful, the staff were the best, they all made me feel so welcome. They even surprised me with a birthday breakfast ♥️ I would 100% come back to Villa Tokay the next time I’m in Gili Air, I’d love to experience the other villas.

Villa Tokay and Laura saved our holiday. Our first 4 days were in Uluwatu, Bali, in a more expensive villa that I was disappointed with, so had started to think that great quality and service was hard to come by. As soon as we met Laura, I knew the holiday was saved. Great apartment, friendly advice, great breakfast, and any extras (like a private snorkelling trip) were organised at a reasonable cost. proximity to sunset and great beach bars was excellent as was the Slow Spa next door.

Location was good. It was easy to get to the areas we wanted to go to and had good access to the ports. Breakfast was also nice though the only option was to eat outside. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The pillows had an unpleasant smell and the sofa they claimed was also a bed wasn’t. The first floor has no ceiling fan or A/C so it was not a comfortable space to be in. Tokay offers free bicycles to use but the tires were flat and did not have enough tread to get through some areas. A doorbell or something to alert you to staff being at the door would be nice. It was hard to hear them when they arrived.

Beautiful small villa. Very comfortable accommodation and very private. It is away from town (harbour) in a quiet location. 5 min walk to the beach (sunset side) with bars and restaurants. Breakfast is lovely and delivers to your villa. Bikes and snorkel equipment at the villa for you to use.

All 6 bamboo villas are amazing beautiful and clean and having crazy gorgeous design... Staff very friendly, breakfast very good. We will be back one day...

The only unpleasant thing was that all island is invaded by myriapods, but this is not their fault... At the bottom of the pool there are always a lot of dead myriapods :(
