Unfortunately, we had a terrible stay. The noise in the rooms is unbelievable - not just from the street/pubs outside (there is zero sound proofing) - but from fellow guests and the staff inside the property. The room had mould and a terrible smell in the bathroom. Bright light shone through the windows until around 5am. We got maybe 3 hours of sleep across 2 nights staying. Breakfast was basic. Some lovely staff but not all were particularly friendly. A very expensive mistake unfortunately.

Very noisy as we were facing onto street at night. Alot of steps. No lift. Felt breakfast was very average. Presentation could have been so much better. Very little choice. Not cheap 180 euros a night. Nearly 100 euros more expensive on booking .com through whom we booked. No reply from booking.com re this. ??? No water in the rooms.

Mitigé sur cet établissement L'ensemble commence a être un peu vieux Les salles de bains demandent clairement a être refaite personnellement il ne sentait pas bon dans la nôtre L'insonorisation des chambres par rapport à la rue tres brutante est médiocre Petit déjeuner correct mais il serait bien que le personnel soit plus souriant et un buffet plus garni

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren super freundlich. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse aus war sehr schön.
Das Zimmer war mit den wichtigsten Möbeln ausgestattet und geräumig, das Mobiliar ist aber sehr in die Jahre gekommen, es gibt einige Macken und am allerschlimmsten war das Badezimmer. Die Badewanne war mit Tape festgeklebt. Die Dusche in der Badewanne hatte keinen Duschkopf, es gab sehr viele rostige Stellen. Das Badezimmer war insgesamt echt unangenehm. Parken auf der Straße vor der Tür kostet Geld bis 18:00 Uhr und am Folgetag erst wieder ab 11:00 Uhr oder so.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Posizione e colazione buona nel bovindo affacciato sulla baia di Clifden anche se nel nostro periodo era in secca quindi poco suggestiva.
Per accedere alle camere occorre portarsi i bagagli su dalle scale, la camera era piccola e ci hanno fatto stare 4 letti.Faceva caldo, tra l'altro dal bagno (precisamente dal water) fuoriusciva un'aria calda.Affacciata sulla strada senza aria condizionata di notte per avere fresco occorre tenere aperto con passaggio di gente brilla che parlava forte e cantava.Al piano di sopra poi nel corso della notte un fracasso che ha disturbato per ore, il sonno un disastro.Infine il bagno sporco con una lumaca morta rinsecchita.Il wifi non si trovava la password da nessuna parte, nemmeno nello scarno libretto informativo in camera.Da evitare!!!

The hotel has no night porter.We understood we had to let ourself in but, came back at 11.55 on eve of Patrick's day, bar and hotel totally shut down. It felt like there was no staff on the premises overnight. Not ideal. The bathroom was run down, needs upgrade. Every time you flushed the toilet the pipe made a big noise, enough to wake others in the room. The room had blinds but no curtains.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026The Woodfield Hotel in Clifden is a lovely small hotel in the very centre of Clifden. During our stay the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the bedroom a decent size. The breakfasts were very good, freshly made each morning. This is a great place from which to explore Connemara, we intend to return.
