Hôtel d’excellente qualité. Propreté impeccable. Le decor est superbe et la chambre très confortable. Très bien situé pour les visites en ville. Nombreux commerces de rue à proximité. Personnel adorable.

On ne peut pas réellement se baigner car la piscine est occupée par des profs de piscine pour les jeunes. Pas beaucoup de communication entre le personnel et les touristes. Un matin, on voulait prendre le petit déjeuner, mais on sait vite rendu compte qu'on ne pouvait pas car ils installaient la table pour un mariage. Du coup, on a dû aller ailleurs pour prendre notre petit déjeuner à côté de la piscine et il y avait un cours de piscine pour les jeunes, ce qui fait que c'était très bruyant.

Clean and spacious room, afternoon tea, and the hotel's interior and exterior are fabuluous!

The breakfast's location was moved to the area nearby the swimming pool, which is a smoking area, in the first day of our stay. It was uncomfortable when there was a guest smoking nearby our table, and moreover, near our child. The staff apologised for that and explained that the non smoking area that's used to be the location for breakfast was booked for a wedding.

L'hotel est magnifique et la chambre était très spacieuse et luxueuse. Le personnel etzit très serviable et sympathique. Le petit déjeuner était très correct.

Le restaurant de l'hôtel (hors petit déjeuner) était vraiment très cher pour des petites quantités. On nous a aussi réveillé le premier mati pour savoir si on allait prendre notre petit déjeuner, alors que nous étions arrivés tard la veille.

Het zwembad heeft geen ligbedjes. Twee kleine bankjes. In het zwembad wordt voortdurend zwemles gegeven, hierdoor kun je er eigenlijk niet zwemmen. De kamer heeft maar 1 stoel.

Dat er zwemles werd gegeven in het zwembad waardoor we er weinig gebruik van konden maken.

Colazione eccezionale: varia, ricca e possibilità di ricevere molti piatti cucinati al momento. Spazi comuni come piscina e palestra ben tenuti ed accoglienti.

Our stay at Mahalaya – The Legacy in Solo City exceeded every expectation. What was supposed to be a short visit turned into a longer one because we enjoyed the experience so much—we happily extended our stay by an extra day. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. They were warm, professional, knowledgeable, and always eager to help, making every interaction effortless and enjoyable. The dining options throughout the property were exceptional. Each restaurant offered delicious, high-quality food with a great variety, and every meal became something we looked forward to. Traveling with children can sometimes be challenging, but the Kids Club was outstanding. It was thoughtfully designed, well-managed, and gave our kids an unforgettable experience filled with fun activities while we had time to relax and enjoy the resort. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with a wonderful atmosphere that combines comfort, elegance, and genuine hospitality. It’s rare to find a hotel where every aspect of the experience—from accommodations and dining to service and family amenities—is consistently excellent. I truly can’t say enough good things about Mahalaya – The Legacy. It is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had, and we would gladly return the next time we’re in Solo. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking for exceptional hospitality.

Koloniaal gebouw op een centrale locatie in Solo. Een supermarkt om de hoek en dicht bij treinstation Balapan. Royale kamer en badkamer. Het ontbijt was prima, niet heel bijzonder. Gratis autorit naar het treinstation na uitchecken.

Het hotel is behoorlijk gehorig. Je hoort alles van je (boven)buren van (telefoon)gesprekken tot appjes die binnenkomen. Het bed is ruim, maar de matrassen zijn hard. Kraanwater kun je niet gebruiken om water te koken voor thee. Je krijgt twee kleine flesjes water, de literflessen die er staan daar moet je voor betalen. Supermarkt om de hoek, dat is wel zo prettig!

Geen enkel raam kan geopend worden, dus geen frisse lucht mogelijk. Kamer is zeer gehorig ondanks " geluidsisolatie". Het ontbijt: lauwe koffie/thee, geen bruinbrood meer aanwezig of te verkrijgen en dit al om 07.30u

夜遅くまでイベントがあり、寝る時間にも関わらずDJによる過剰な音楽が鳴り響いた。音は廊下を通り抜け、私の部屋まで重低音が鳴り響き、寝れず非常に不快であった。 またホテルはコンビニまでとおく、飲み物等はかなり歩かないとゲットできない。 施設はよかったが、正直サービス含め最悪の体験だった。今後とまるかたはイベントの有無及び５階はやめた方が良いと思う。

A wonderfully restored Dutch Colonial hotel with exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and at 50 must say this is definitley ones of the nicest ones I have encountered.

Het is te duur. Het restaurant (in een veel te grote, ongezellige zaal) kent een beperkte kaart en niet alles wat op de kaart staat was beschikbaar. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid maar vnl Aziatisch met koffie die lang op staat en dus niet te drinken is. Wij sliepen in kamers op de begane grond en die waren gehorig; veel geluiden van de straat ( en de kamer ernaast). Wij hadden een kopje gebroken in de kamer en dat moesten we betalen. Voor het bedrag dat we voor de 2 overnachtingen in 2 kamers hebben betaald, mag je toch verwachten dat zoiets bij de prijs is inbegrepen.

Tout, petit déjeuner fabuleux, excellent accueil.

Het is een prachtig gebouw, heel sfeervol ingericht. Heerlijk ontbijt. Mooie ruime, lichte kamers. Personeel zoooo vriendelijk. Schoon, netjes en verzorgd. Centraal gelegen.

Het is er zooooo gehorig helaas. Maar ondanks dat hebben we een heel aangenaam verblijf gehad.

To small for gym room

The buffet breakfast was fabulous. Three different soups to have, eggs of your choice, 2 rice 5 mains and lots of vegetables to make salads. There was also a large selection of pastries and deserts to have with your tea and coffee. We also ate in the restaurant which offered a wide range of dishes at good prices when compared to offerings outside the hotels.. the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful whenever you needed anything. The hotel also included complimentary afternoon tea which was also very tasty. A gem of a hotel..

That we had to leave. We could have stayed another couple of days but our next hotel and onward train journey had already been booked.

De kamer was zeer groot, mooi en schoon. We kregen een gratis upgrade naar een executive room. Het ontbijt was enorm gevarieerd. Er was een zwembad maar geen gebruik van gemaakt.

Het ontbijt is uitstekend, net als het eten in het restaurant. Personeel heel aardig en hulpvaardig. De thee met lekkernijen 's middags in de bar is heerlijk.

I have stayed in multiple hundreds or even thousands of hotels in Asia, Mahalaya rates in the top 10. Our stay was nothing short of brilliant. Everything about this hotel we liked. The relaxed atmosphere. The colonial architecture and decor. The floor tiles were amazing. The staff were more than brilliant. Facilities top class. They decorated the hotel with, by my estimate, $40,000 worth of Christmas decorations and the hotel played soft Christmas carols as background music. You could not help but find yourself humming along.

If I had to niggle about something, breakfast never really catered for a western style breakfast and the egg station struggled to produce quality cooked eggs of any type. I'm adventurous with food, having eaten everything from ducks tongues to scorpians on crackers, but breakfast for me is a time for comfort food, which was never quite delivered.

Good location, great facility, breakfast buffet was reasonably varied, the staff is generally helpful

The only issues I would highlight is that their photography policy for guest seems unnecessarily rather strict. If it was for non-guest, I would understand. The staff wanted to charge me 1.5million Rupiah to take a photo of one of their vases in the lobby with my camera. I didn’t make it a big deal because why bother honestly. But it was disappointing. Not their fault though, they are following management instructions.

Big property, clean, large rooms, nice swimming pool plus bar on the 5th floor. Helpful staff. Next to an interesting traditional market.

The interior decor was great bitbit stopped there

Firstly it was only built a few years ago and although it looks solid it’s flimsy. We were on the 5th floor and it was sooo noisy, the pool is right there and two rooms down was the kiddies playroom (I guess all great if you have kids) I couldn’t even go in the pool for the amount of kids and families in it and with a small entrance spot. Our room was noisy from the restaurant up stairs and chairs being pulled in and out, like I said it’s flimsy. The bed was rock hard and when I asked could we move to a quieter and softer bed he assures me all the beds in the whole place were exactly the same. It was in a dodgy area too. I would never go back there ever.

Everything! Our room was large and quiet. The buffet breakfast was varied and we got a barista latte as well as standard drinks on offer. The pool was stunning. And the afternoon tea was a lovely bonus in a beautiful lounge area. Really couldn’t fault this hotel.

Nothing to dislike. The gym had two treadmills and only one working but we made that work for us and having a gym at all is an added bonus. Not sure about the location. The city is very large so there could be better areas but this hotel was very close to the Solo Balapan train station.

Un magnifique hôtel très joliment décoré. Des chambres spacieuses et très bien équipées. Un personnel serviable et très réactif. Une jolie piscine en rooftop. Un petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Et tout cela à un prix vraiment abordable. Et Solo, un peu hors des sentiers battus, vaut vraiment le détour.

​Food Quality: A fish dish at Le Palais was served raw, which is a significant quality and safety issue. ​Noise Disturbances: I was disturbed by loud renovations in the adjacent room on two separate occasions: ​Once at 8:00 PM in the evening. ​Again the next morning at 6:30 AM. ​Service & Staff: ​There was a lack of attention to detail and proactive service. ​It felt like the staff was "surprised" to see guests. ​I had to personally go to the reception to resolve the noise issue. ​Overall Experience: My initial positive impression was completely ruined by these recurring service problems. The service did not meet the basic standards I would expect.

The 2nd day the breakfast was by the pool, which make it hot & cramp & less comfortable. The pool was really small. Room was kind of small.

The service, the room, everything is excellent

Comfy bed and beautiful room. The rooftop pool was lovely and the gym was small but well located. Dinner was good and there was a lot of choice at breakfast. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Although there isn't much in the immediate vicinity, the batik museum and the palace are a short taxi ride away and were really interesting.

Nothing much - a hairdryer in the room would have been useful.

A gem of a hotel in a great location, walking distance to the Palace & the Pasar right next door is not to be missed. The hotel is superbly appointed - very comfortable with beautiful art & facilities. We could have stayed longer.

The acoustics in the corridor meant that people talking, laughing, chatting in rhe corridors even late at night was disturbing. Plus, the children's play area at end of corridor created lots of noise with kids screaming, having a good time. This play area should be relocated away from rooms. Plus, some guests totally inconsiderate of others.
