Simply the best hotel in Pokhara! Ok, I don't know all of the hotels in Pokhara, but I keep coming back to this one because it has everything I need (four times so far this year). Peace, quiet, spacious rooms, no 'Big Brother' CCTV like in some places, a great location, and a good price. And let's not forget the super-helpful owner. Do you need anything? Laundry, a bus ticket, a cooking lesson, directions, life advice? He's your guide! Ok, ok, leave the man alone—he's got a whole hotel to run and doesn't have time for free therapy sessions, but he's always nice to talk to whenever I see him. I'm definitely coming back to Pokhara whenever time allows, and this is always my hotel of choice.

We arrived to this hotel thinking we can cook there (following the pictures in the site) and when we mention that the owner got really upset with us and offer us to go and find different place which what we did. It was for me after traveling 1 month in the Nepal the first very unfriendly local I met.

I stayed at this property for one night, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise potential guests to carefully consider the following points before making a booking: 1. Not a proper hotel setup – This is not a conventional hotel. The owners and their family reside on the ground floor, while a few rooms on the upper floor are used to accommodate guests. This arrangement lacks the professionalism and privacy one would typically expect from a hotel. 2. Unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior – The owners were rude, impolite, and unhelpful throughout my stay. They seemed to have several unwritten rules and expectations that were neither communicated clearly nor handled in a guest-friendly manner. 3. No Wi-Fi available – Contrary to what one might expect, there is no Wi-Fi service provided, which can be highly inconvenient, especially for travelers who rely on internet access. 4. Poor lighting and safety concerns – The lighting outside the rooms was not functioning, leaving the area extremely dark. This created a serious safety hazard, particularly on the stairs, where visibility was almost nonexistent and there is a real risk of slipping or falling. 5. Lack of maintenance and accountability – Despite the obvious issue with the lighting, the owner made no effort to repair or replace it during my stay, reflecting a lack of concern for guest safety and comfort. Overall, the experience was far from satisfactory. I would recommend skipping this property and looking for more reliable and professionally managed accommodations.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bam Dev is a great host, really attentive and friendly. The location is great, very central. Totally recommend!

Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Aufenthalt und können die Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen. Das Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich und genau wie beschrieben. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Gastfreundschaft – wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist ideal, um die Umgebung zu erkunden, gleichzeitig aber ruhig genug, um sich zu entspannen. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich top. Wir haben die Unterkunft bereits zum 2. Mal gebucht und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are super clean and comfortable! The shower has strong hot water, it was such a luxury to shower there! The hotel owner was always very kind and helpful with us. He recommended places, activities, and even transportation! We had an issue with our dates before arriving and needed to move our check-in earlier, and the owner was able to accommodate us without any problem!!! We would definitely come back! 😄

A very cozy and family-like place with kind, helpful, and flexible hosts. We felt truly welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

The host was very helpful and friendly provided some really good insights and helped with our travel arrangements as well. Room was comfortable and had two windows from where we can see the annapurna mountain ranges and the fishtail mountain. The view was spectacular from the room.

No water dispensers at the property, had to purchase it from the outside but the shops are like within 1 min walk from the property so manageable. Wifi was a little slippery, the speed wasn't that good so we kept getting disconnected from the internet, but we had our Hotspot on so we did not rely much on the hotel wifi.

Room quality was very poor. Bedsheets were torn and unhygienic. Very uncomfortable stay. • The room was not maintained properly. Bedding was damaged and overall cleanliness was unsatisfactory. • Extremely uncomfortable night due to poor room condition and torn sheets.

Totally annoying stay — poor staff, bad location, and the top-floor room felt like a storage room. Very uncomfortable.

wrost hotel i ever sat in my life the owner was really rude 12 of jan we had booking hotel from booking •com even i mention the toilet must be clean and that night we came from outside me and my wife and my friend we had ask for another room as well and we were talk about price because owern had mention if we book direct in call or meet at office and we been there and we mention them the toilet was not clean they told us to leave at that moment around 10:30 pm we had paid for 2 days owenr said to us you are drunk bla bla i had just one beer i was not drunk and the bath towel was dirty as well and please found another good place dont go over there owner dont have any manner how to teat the guest

The staff was not that coperative in the way of talking and seemed arrogant in the beginning and least interested. He meant to say that in this price this is what you get. No breakfast.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The hot shower was excellent with strong water pressure, which was perfect after long days out. The beds were very comfortable and we slept really well. WiFi worked reliably throughout our stay, and the area is quiet and peaceful. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, and kindly allowed us to leave some of our bags at the hotel during our 5-day trek, which made everything much easier for us. We really appreciated the hospitality and would happily stay here again.

Lovely hotel! We stayed here before and after our trek and the owners let us store our excess baggage while we were away. The owners are really friendly and helpful and helped us book taxis and buses when we needed. The location is excellent, just off the road next to the lake with lots of lovely shops and restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfy and excellent value.

I have visited Pokhara many times and stayed in a lot of hotels there. Diplomat and just one other make up my short list now. I dont see the need to look elsewhere now, unless both are booked out. Hotel Diplomat is consistently good and reliable. With my advancing years, I particularly welcome the accessibility, a vehicle brings you right to front door. Also accessibility to the main business area of Lakeside, while being tucked away in a quiet lane.

I cant think of anything that I didnt like. Consistently good.

Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Menschen im Hotel, die einem auf Wunsch alles organisieren. Die Lage ist top, in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße am der Lake-Side. Ich hatte das Zimmer 307 auf der Dachterasse mit unglaublich schöner Aussicht auf die Berge. Ich bin länger geblieben und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.

L hotel està molt ben situat, està net, l'habitació i el bany son correctes, hi havia aigua calenta. El.personal.és molt amable i ens han ajudat en tot el que hem necessitat (taxis, bitllets ..). A través de Diplomat hem contractat el trekking a Poon Hill, ha anat molt bé. La qualitat preu és exel.lent. Recomanable.

My stay at Hotel Diplomat was nothing sort of spectacular. With it's convenient location and outstanding service, it has quickly become my go-to choice for accommodations whenever I travel to the area.

Comfortable, clean and central hotel. Staff could be more helpful and sometimes seemed reluctant to assist. Safe drinking water was not always available or was of poor quality.

The toilet could use a good scrub. You can't sit on your own balcony because it's too small. You can sit on the balcony in front if you want that.

Great location with plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity and just a few minutes walk from the lake. There's a restaurant in front where teenagers tend to gather and have loud parties but if you have earplugs, it should be fine. The couple who owns the place is very friendly and they speak English fluently. The owner even helped me book a ride to the airport because the drivers on the app were trying to scam me. Good price for money, clean and spacious room with plenty of sunlight and a balcony. Hot water in the shower and extra blankets in case guests feel cold.

The only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because of the wifi connection which wasn't stable in my room. I had an important work call which kept disconnecting. Maybe the signal is better in the lobby.
