Nice room with good facilities, coffee pot as well as kettle

After having an expensive evening meal in the pub they closed up and we had to leave. It was 9:30.

Everything. Lovely place and staff. Quiet and peaceful.

It's a beautiful Beautiful place, entrance is welcoming and sets the tone walking under the archway. Pub is old style and laid out well, staff are the jewels, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was magnificent 😋 the real star here. Rooms were a small walk away, really spacious and plenty of amenities.

Now this is where it fell down for me personally....the room was brilliant, lovely lay out, showered perfect....But.... The large bed is deceiving, it's 2 singles join3d together with 2 single mattresses....now if it was a king size mattress everything would be fine. You simply slip into the crack whilst sleeping, sorry not sleeping 😴

Loved the cute little hut we stated in. The restaurant staff were amazing and very welcoming. It has a pretty little garden. We didn't get a chance to have dinner but everyone told us the food is really good. We did have breakfast which was lovely. We will definitely come back!

I woke up with multiple insect bites, including four in a straight line on my leg - which I was very nervous about, as this is a pattern associated with bed bugs (although I appreciate this isn’t conclusive). I reported this immediately and, to the hotel’s credit, they took the room out of service, treated it and inspected it before reopening it. My disappointment was with the customer service. While the hotel appeared to focus on protecting future guests, there was very little concern shown for my own experience… I explained that I missed the breakfast included with my stay whilst housekeeping inspected my room, and incurred costs taking precautionary measures with my belongings. I’d have appreciated being offered at least a partial refund to compensate the missed breakfast. The operational response appeared thorough, but I felt the way the situation was handled from a guest service perspective was insufficient. On a personal level, it was quite a traumatic and unexpectedly expensive stay (I’m now two bags and two pairs of shoes down, as they couldn’t be laundered at a high heat…). I’m in a position to be able to replace these items, but appreciate that might not be the case for everyone - so it’s disappointing not to feel acknowledged.

Location staff were amazing, comfortable clean bed . Food was also brilliant.

I can really say it was more than expected

I had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed chatting with the owner who is a lovely chap. The rooms are in a separate building behind the pub which is really nice. My room was fantastic and far exceeded expectations, they've thought of everything. Bonus points for having English wine by the glass (there's a few wineries of note very close). Parking was available at the rooms and away from prying eyes (I was on a motorbike). I'll certainly stay there again when I'm next in the area.

The mattress in the bed was simply unacceptable. Springs were coming out of the side - had clearly seen much better days. It should not have been there and more care needs to be taken. Hugely impacted an otherwise lovely stay with a dreadful night’s sleep.

I booked to stay here last minute after my travel plans were disrupted. The accommodation was in a beautiful converted barn in a garden across the road from the pub, and and the room was perfectly presented, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. I had dinner in the pub itself and sitting in the secluded flowery courtyard in the summer heat was wonderful. The food was delicious and excellent value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly and if the dinner was anything to go by, I was sad I had to leave before breakfast and miss it! I was kindly given some yoghurt, granola and fruit to take to my room instead. Would absolutely stay here again.

The pictures didn’t do it justice. We stayed here for a local wedding and it was lovely, I emailed ahead of time and the staff let us check in early which was very appreciated. Room was gorgeous, exceeded expectations, breakfast was as expected from a little pub but good enough! Would stay here again.

My grandparents with a wheelchair stayed here. The whole team was super supportive before and during the stay. It is a lovely hotel and the rooms are everything you could want. Especiallythe showers are great.

Dinner and breakfast both excellent. New dinner menu. Our fishcakes were the best ever. Our superior room (we were upgraded) was outstanding - spacious, well fitted and comfortable.

Landlord efficient and businesslike but rather brusque and didn't 'engage' or make us feel very welcome. No telephone number on the booking confirmation.

The arrangement of the rooms in a restored barn set around a garden area was lovely and peaceful. The bedrooms were comfortable and well equipped both with good showers. Perhaps time for a TV upgrade because without apps such as Netflix and IPlayer it’s not so easy to find a good film. The breakfast was good with excellent coffee and the evening meals were also good. Rose who was our main person on the service front was kind and hospitable.

Fantastic Inn with a court yard of rooms 70 metres away very comfortable the staff were excellent and attentive. Food is exceptional I was here on business but it would make an excellent treat away.

The food was a little expensive but it was very good. No dislike to anything here.

I arrived at noon on Christmas Day so there were no staff on site although a telephone number was provided for any problems arising. There was no heating on in the Shepherds Hut where I stayed but two electric heaters were provided and these I used. I left in an hour to join friends locally for lunch and returned early evening when the chill was gone. I subsequently lit the wood burning fire and within an hour I was sweltering as if in a sauna. The convenience, facilities and welcoming staff on the following morning were very much appreciated as was the delicious full breakfast served.

Having to light my own fire, normally the butler’s job before I arise in the morning.

The shepherd’s hut was charming. Spotlessly clean, a really comfy bed with superb bedding and an excellent en-suite shower and lavy. Beautifully put together with high end fittings. Sweet little log store outside for chillier nights when you can light the burner and cosy up.
