Fabulous bed & breakfast in Baltimore. A lovely touch with the welcome drink. Fredricka was so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is such an asset with delicious food and wine. The gardens are lovely. Complimentary tea and coffee are available all day.

The bed was a little hard but bedrooms are spotless.

Fabulous experience. The staff were wonderful, the food was outstanding, the owner was incredibly hospitable.

The only negative was the inability to tip the restaurant staff by card and there is no atm in the village.

Rolf’s is a real oasis - the gardens and surroundings are just beautiful. The owners are very involved and personable, and all the other staff we encountered were also excellent and warm. The food was excellent throughout our stay, and the 2 bed townhouse was super comfortable! Thanks Frederika and Johannes!

Ein aussergewöhnliches Hotel! Es sind die kleinen Sachen, die überzeugen: das täglich frische Wasser im Zimmer, die cookies, der Begrüssungsdrink, der stets warme Wasserkocher im Gang (keiner im Zimmer der Platz braucht und man nie weiss, was der Vorgänger da gekocht hat). Toller Garten in absolut ruhiger Lage, überall im und ums Haus Sitzmöglichkeiten. Sehr bequeme Betten, wir haben sonst praktisch immer Rückenprobleme. Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück und Restaurant. Grosser Parkplatz.

Friederike made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. What a lovely location they have there. Away from the bustle of the town but close enough to walk to everything. The food was delicious, thank you Johannes, all the staff were great. Rolfs and Baltimore are a gem of a place to visit, couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend a significant birthday.

The breakfast was absolutely perfect. Brought to our table by very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful selection, freshly prepared ,beautiful presentation and service. We also had dinner on two nights and were extremely impressed again with the quality of the food, its flavours and presentation. Very relaxed atmosphere and very pleasant staff.

The setting was extremely peaceful but we could hear every movement and voices in the room overhead us. Thankfully, this did not last long and we had excellent sleep. We were very fortunate to have beautiful weather. while there was plenty of seating in the beautiful garden and patio areas, it would be nice to have some sun loungers maybe in a more private location at rear of the building

From the welcoming drinks in the garden from Frederica to the wonderful food, ambience and quality comfortable accommodation, we just loved our stay in Rolfs . Very friendly staff they couldn’t do enough for us

everything perfect, we didn't avail of dinner as there are lots of options nearby in Baltimore but its recommended to book ahead for dinner as the restaurant was always busy.

Rolfs Country House is a most beautiful oasis of peace and calmness. With beautiful gardens in which you can dine in wonderful surroundings, it is a pleasure to stay here. We will be back. Tell your friends. A 10 minute walk will gave you to Baltimore Harbour to witness the sunset. Rolfs is a must if you wish to switch down ( or off) from whatever it is you are doing right now.

Lovely room. Loved the evening meal in the garden. The food was delicious. Breakfast was beautifully presented. Friendly atmosphere. Good location, walking distance to town. A lovely touch having a brew station with pastries.

The shower was a bit small.

Everything but notably the generous warm welcome, the divine breakfast in a luscious garden. Top notch dinner. Beautiful palette of colours in the bedroom. Blessed with the hot weather but I can also imagine it being warm and cosy in the winter.

Would prefer a larger bed especially in such unseasonably warm weather but that’s only a tiny niggle. Still 10/10

The gardens surrounding Rolfs are out of this world.You can enjoy an amazing breakfast, lunch dinner or drinks in a really special & beautiful setting. The food is outstanding! The cocktails are great and the staff are lovely.

The bed could have been softer & more comfortable.Our room was a little bit on the small side but that’s down to my booking.

AMAZING location— right in heart of Kinsale but BR location makes solid sleeping no problem. Fan and washer &dryer made the difference! Apt 2 (there are 3) has great views of town square below: very lively but by midnight, it’s quiet. Apt very clean. 1.5 Baths! Bed very comfy. No issues with anything! If you’re looking to cook, there are literally just the basics: large pasta pot, small saucepan & large frying pan. So no fancy meals— just enough for a quick meal. Simple but stylish decor. Light & bright! We were thrilled with the apt/- parked (free) in the library parking near the church— 2-3 min walk with bags. Super easy to check in— Michelle was quick & efficient with all correspondence and questions prior to arrival. Never had an issue with apt! Can’t recommend highly enough! There is also a 2BR (Apt 1) in this building— styled similarly. We peeked at it while it was being cleaned Restaurants, coffee. shops, galleries & pubs abound. What a great town! Jo’s bakery for BEST scones (seriously!!! And other baked goods. Seed has great baked goods & toasties too. Coffee & Cocktails has good coffee , as did Wild Thyme (i think it’s called that) A surprisingly good dinner at The White House (only place we found open till 9:30) kitchens close at 9 pm!!! BEST trad music was in the tiny Prim’s Bookstore & Bar (do the sherry flight!)— guy working there was super nice, friendly & knowledgeable. Managed a walk in outdoor table at Black pig! Also, had fish & chips at the recommended Fishy Fishy— mid afternoon was perfect— no crowds

I honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay at Rolfs Country House. Before I even arrived, I had to contact Frederica to change my booking due to a family bereavement. She was so kind, understanding and accommodating, and nothing was any trouble. That immediately put me at ease, and the warm welcome continued throughout my stay. Rolfs is a beautiful family-run boutique hotel with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Frederica and her family clearly take great pride in what they do. Her daughters were serving in the restaurant during my stay, and they were so friendly, professional and genuinely lovely. The lady looking after breakfast each morning was equally welcoming and made every breakfast a pleasure. The hotel itself is immaculate. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. They're full of gorgeous flowers and lush greenery, creating such a peaceful setting. Sitting outside for a meal felt really special. The restaurant was exceptional. The food was of a very high standard, and it's easy to see why it's so popular with both guests and locals. I'd definitely recommend booking a table because it gets busy. Breakfast was also delicious, with plenty of choice and excellent service. There was ample parking, which was really convenient, and from start to finish I felt genuinely welcomed and looked after. Thank you to Frederica and all of the family for making my stay so enjoyable. I would happily stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rolfs to anyone looking for a beautiful, welcoming place to stay.

I can’t say enough good things about this country house. It’s a short 10 minute walk from Baltimore but a world away from stresses of every day life. Francesca welcomed me like an old friend. I was shown my beautiful room and invited to have a Prosecco in the garden. Dinner was divine, they have a full bar, lots of nooks and crannies to relax and unwind in. Lots of recommendations for the local area ( which is stunning). Really there is no good reason to leave Rolf’s . The food is honestly incredible, the family who own it are wonderful. I hope to be able to return, but I take away memories of a magical couple of days and a reminder that hospitality is alive and flourishing in a small part of Cork.

It felt like home

We enjoyed three nights in the exceptional care of the friendly Haffner family - the hotel is very capably managed by Friedericke, with delicious meals prepared by Chef Johannes Haffner. The hotel is divided into three areas - main hotel, separate building with more rooms (and a delightful sitting area), and self-catering cottages, surrounding a sheltered sub-tropical garden area. We enjoyed every moment of our stay - the food, the ambience, and the verdant gardens which are beautiful. A complimentary welcoming drink is served in the garden should the weather allow, otherwise in the bar area. The rooms we stayed in are neat but were perfect for our needs. (There are two larger rooms available if one would prefer more space / bigger bed.) Do book dinner for at least one night - you won’t be disappointed! Breakfast is served with a continental style selection of pastries, breads, granola, fruit salad, yoghurts etc., and a menu choice of eggs cooked to order in 7 different ways. Hotel is within easy walking distance of Baltimore, and the ferries to the islands.

We have known Rolf's Country House for decades when Fredericka and Johannes' parents were running the place. We have watched it grow and and have always loved coming here when in Ireland and enjoying wonderful food and a warm welcome. We feel like old friends and have enjoyed bringing friends and family. Thank you to Fredericka and Johannes for welcoming the ever increasing Fry Family to celebrate Max's 30th birthday. Look forward to our next visit to Ireland which is always made perfect by visiting Rolf's.
