Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Marguerite is a wonderful host who welcomes guests into her beautiful home with warmth and care. The rooms were inviting, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the charming property created a relaxing and memorable stay. We felt truly at home and would gladly return.
The location is isolated from grocery stores and restaurants. Important to have a vehicle if you stay here.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Marguerite’s property is located on a hillside overlooking the bay. We had a comfortable room facing the bay. She is a gem of a hostess; friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and gracious. She made each breakfast to order and asked if we needed anything more. A nice, comfortable living room near the front door was a good place to relax and meet other guests. We are thankful that she lists her home on this site. The Baltimore location is exactly what we wanted, away from the crowded towns and cities. West Cork is beautiful.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026I am a vegetarian with extensive food intolerances, so there was no surprise I couldn't eat much that was available. However, I was offered alternatives, which I declined. I arrived early yet was welcomed in as I walked up the drive, which was a lovely start I loved the location and view, even though it was a bit of a walk to the quay, and was thrilled to have choughs calling outside my bedroom window.
There was nothing I didn't like. There was a brief problem with mobile phone signal, but it didn't cause much problem.

Notre hôte nous a très bien accueilli et a eu la gentillesse de nous laisser arriver un peu plus tard sans aucun problème. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux. Nous avons passé une très bonne nuit.
L’insonorisation n’est bien sûre pas celle d’un immeuble moderne donc si vous tombez sur des voisins de chambres bruyants, cela peut être un peu gênant.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Marguerite ist eine offene und freundliche Gastgeberin. Unser Familienzimmer (4 Personen) war geräumig, sauber und hatte einen tollen Ausblick. Auf dem Zimmer gibt es einen Wasserkocher, Tassen, Tee/Instantkaffee und eine Kleinigkeit zum knabbern. Hand- und Duschtücher sind vorhanden. Lage vom Rathmore House ist wunderschön. Es liegt etwas abseits mit Blick auf die Bucht von Baltimore. Wir hatten einen fantastischen Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang. Sowohl die Außenanlage, sowie das Haus sind sehr gepflegt. Das Frühstück (Full Irish) wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt köstlich. Dazu, wie üblich, natürlich Toast. Rathmore House kann ich nur empfehlen.

Bed linen and pillows were a on the tired side - not hotel quality. Ensuite a bit too narrow to be comfortable. These two factors stopped us giving Rathmore a higher rating which it really deserves for location, service and breakfast.

Very hospitable host who was happy to help and ensured all in the breakfast room were well plied with delicious hmecooked food.
