What made our stay even better was the amazing staff. A special mention goes to Shalika, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire stay. She truly went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for great service and a perfect view of the elephants!

The location was great,by the river with a big balcony to watch elephants in the morning. Also, there's a swimming pool to refresh.We fully enjoy our staying!

The duty Manager Shalika went out of her way to makes us very welcome and Andrew our transport & activity manager was outstanding as well, quick response to questions and very thorough explain about the entry process, the waiters we very good as well

The location is excellent and very convenient. The staff were outstanding friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist, which made our stay really enjoyable.

Access to the hotel can be a little tricky, but it’s very minor and didn’t affect our overall experience.

This hotel is truly one of the best places to stay. The location is perfect and very convenient for everything around the city. The staff are extremely kind, polite, and always ready to help. - The location is the top - The view from the balcony - staff was so sweet and kind, they organize cake for my birthday - One night was not enough for me, next time will stay longer - room was great, with hot water and super comfy bed - breakfast was having many options to choose from - Shalika and Andrew was great and gave us all information we needed - Andrew took us to the elephant farm - And best server at the restaurant was Sakun

We arrived very late in the evening, but check-in was no problem, they waited for us. The rooms were clean, the water was hot, comfortable beds, a terrace and air conditioning - what more could you ask for. In the morning, an amazing buffet breakfast with a wide selection of food, coffee, tea and juices. The view from the room, or from the restaurant of elephants bathing in the river is an unforgettable experience. We stayed longer and had a swim in the pool after breakfast with a beer and a view of the elephants in the river. An absolutely amazing place above the river.

Being so close to the elephants

Auch für eine Nacht fühlte man sich willkommen. Wir haben ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit direktem Ausblick auf den Fluß und den Elefanten Badeplatz bekommen. Schönes Restaurant mit tollem Ausblick. Frühstück ist auch super und reichhaltig.

Na ubytování jsme přijeli k večeru a hned nám byla nabídnuta možnost dojít si na večeři, která byla skvělá. Ráno na snídani bufet s poměrně velkým výběrem jídla. Po snídani nám manažer hotelu zajistil projížďku autem po okolí města. Bonusem byli sloni, které přivedli koupat k řece u ubytování.

On avait une vue incroyable sur les éléphants. La chambre était propre et calme. Le personnel était génial. Le petit déjeuner buffet incroyable. On recommande !!!

Lovely hotel in a great location and wonderful staff. We really enjoyed seeing the elephants up close as well as from the balcony in our room. The hospitality from the hotel staff was also excellent. They really did go above and beyond what we expected of them. Special thanks to Andrew for spending so much of his time looking after us, and to Shalika for her kindness.

We werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen Lekker ontbijt en goed eten. Mooie natuurlijke omgeving. De vleermuizen die s avonds over komen, is ook zo bijzonder om mee te maken. Jammer dat sommige olifanten aan de ketting gelegd worden. Ik hoef ze dan eigenlijk niet te zien. Het hotel kan er niets aan doen. Als ze de olifanten gewoon los zouden laten lopen, is het al bijzonder om mee te maken. Die kunstjes voor de toeristen moeten ze echt mee stoppen. Dus ik heb er dubbele gevoelens aan over gehouden. Maar het hotel is echt wel heel goed

This was one of the most magical moments of our trip to Sri Lanka. The unique chance to see elephants right from the balcony of your room is what makes this hotel special. Seeing these huge animals taking a bath in the river and even treat them with banana is a unique experience! The hotel’s restaurant deserves a special mention. Breakfast offered a huge selection, from Sri Lankan traditional dishes to a variety of European. Dinner was equally excellent: big portions, reasonable prices and incredibly tasty food that literally sent me to nine cloud😍 The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff are kind, polite and helpful. All in all, this hotel leaves a feeling of care and heart felt warmth. I highly recommend it!

We were a bit unsure about choosing this hotel due to mixed reviews about both the elephant well-being and the hotel itself, but we’re so glad we decided to go for it! The hotel was lovely overall. The staff were friendly, our room felt almost brand new, and it was really comfortable. We had a spacious balcony, a large bed, and a clean bathroom with a great shower - everything you’d want for a relaxing stay. There were two things that really surprised us and that no one mentioned in reviews. First, the amazing sunset experience: at dusk, thousands of bats fly out over the river in a stunning display that lasts about 15 minutes. It was such a unique and unforgettable moment for us! Second, the breakfast was fantastic. It was a huge buffet with a wide variety of options. During our two weeks in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best breakfast we had. As for the elephants, we felt they were well cared for. We chose not to ride or wash them, as we prefer to just observe them from a distance, and that approach worked really well for us. We did see a few elephants with chains, but we were told these were male elephants who tend to be more aggressive. Apparently, once they become accustomed to humans and their surroundings, they are eventually released. While we can't confirm this for sure, we really hope it's true and that the elephants are treated kindly. Overall, it was a great experience, and we're really happy with our choice.

We didn’t dislike it, but just a heads up for others. The room design might not be for everyone. There were a lot of stairs, and some doors opened in unexpected ways. The room had a lot of glass and tiles, which, while modern, can make things a bit tricky. For example, if you need to go to the bathroom in the dark, it can be a little dangerous because of the steps and the layout. We’d just recommend being careful, especially for families with young kids or older guests. It might not be the easiest or safest setup for everyone.

Начну с того, что по факту жили в отеле Hotel Elephant Park, т.к. Паналанда ( в котором было забронировано 2 номера) - это отдельное здание, на первом этаже которого ресторан. Причем ресторан к отелю не имеет никакого отношения. Вся инфраструктура- ресепшн, бассейн, завтрак проводятся именно в отеле Элефант Парк. Об этом мы конечно узнали при заселении((( Сами попросили переселить нас, и без доплат получили номер категории Фэмили. Поэтому мои оценки именно этому отелю!!!!! номер конечно измученный жизнью: стены, плитка на полу, ковролин в спальне- все нуждается в обновлении. Спасибо, что не было живности- хотя все к этому располагало)))) Единственное новое место- это сан узел, недавно был ремонт. Завтраки- не плохо, все стандартно для Шри Ланки. Вид на купание слонов конечно супер. НО! рядом есть отель, в нем вид лучше. И бассейн больше, вообщем- лучше в него)

The staff were so very helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. A few additional small facilities in the room would have been nice but our stay was amazing.

We had no room service for our stay which would have been nice to have.

Room was dirty. Cockroach in the bathroom and I had to ask for toothbrush and toothpaste which of as not in the room.

Krásné místo, výhled na řeku a koupající se slony nemá chybu. Snídaně vynikající, personál milý. Měly jsme vlastní auto,nabídku výletů jsme nevyužily.

Vlhkost v pokojích, ale za to může nedávný monzun.

Месторасположение отличное. Из номера вид на то, за чем едут в Пиннавеллу: река, куда выводят слонов.

Все старое, разваливается плитка, стены пошарпанные, у двери отвалилась ручка, свет работает непонятно как, полотенца и постельное белье с пятнами, летают и ползают насекомые, в санузлах плесень, кондиционеры не чистили уже очень давно (муж сам помыл фильтры), батарейки в пульте от телевизора не работают, бассейн грязный. В общем, печально, что владельцу на это наплевать и отель берет только тем, что у него такое удачное расположение. Хорошо, что у нас была забронирована только одна ночь, этого хватило) Ресторан, кстати, в целом не плохой, готовили норм. Но уже писали в комментариях: поменяйте вы элементарно хотя бы плейсматы под тарелки, ну позор же. Короче, для одной ночи сойдет (видимо так и владелец думает).

I only stayed for one night but it was perfect for our rest. Room was clean and more than i expected. Reception staff were very friendly and kind to us. Mr. Andrew is the transport and activity manager he was very polite and friendly. He arranged all transportation for us. And food was amazing and the restaurant staff were also very professional and friendly. Elephants were amazing to see. It was a amazing experience. Thank you to the hotel staff and mr Andrew.

Great stop of for us on the way to Kandy. Loved seeing the elephants and peacocks. The fruit bat fly past at dusk was amazing. The staff were very helpful and Thilina the driver looked after us very well too

Hotel is good if you compare with other hotels in Sri Lanka however Elephants are blocked and completely elephants economy. I am so sorry to come this place caused the elephants in prison life.

У отеля есть один огромный плюс - это вид на реку Майя Ойя, куда каждое утро и день приводят слоников (очень много слоников) из приюта на водопой и купание. Вечером и рано утром очень красивые виды на реку. Реально замирает сердце от такой природы. Номер вполне себе большой и чистый. Все есть. Завтрак (шведский стол) тоже хороший. На ужин не ходили, т к очень устали. Обязательно помойте слоника. Услуга продавалась официально во время купания слонов (около 3 usd). Это бы незабываемый опыт. Очень приятный и общительный менеджер Andrew, который нам помогал с информацией и делом :)

Некоторые общественные места в отеле выглядят немного обшарпанно, что при приезде нас несколько смутило. В округе вечером нет ничего. Все закрыто. Даже воды купить негде. Позаботьтесь об этом заранее. Темно. Если захотите есть, то только в отеле или ехать в Рамбуккану на такси.

Jediný hotel během mého měsíčního pobytu na Sri Lance - kvůli výhledu na koupající se slony. Bohužel, kvůli nedávným dešťům a povodním se sem sloni koupat nepřišli ani jednou. To samozřejmě není chyba hotelu, takže plně chápu a velice lituji všechny katastrofou zasažené srílančany :( Hotel byl perfektní, skvělí, přátelští zaměstnanci, výborné a bohaté snídané... pro mě absolutní luxus (jinak využívám levná ubytování u místních). Musím vyzdvihnout hlavně hotelového manažera Andrewa, který se mi věnoval na 100%, vymyslel mi krásný program a na rozloučenou mi dal dokonce dárek a odvezl na autobus. Tohle jsem nikde nezažila, aby mě někdo vzal kamkoliv zdarma (za řidiče po výletech jsem nezaplatila ani korunu)

Аккуратный просторный свежий номер. Выход прямо к реке. Завтрак по типу шведского стола. Ужин по тому же типу и оплачивается отдельно, а также можно заказать блюда из меню. Доступ к бассейну до 22.00. Приветливый персонал.

Отель прямо с видом на место ежедневного купания слонов. Завтрак шведского типа, вполне нормально, вкусно чисто красиво , с балкона ресторана также видно купание слонов. Номер «улучшенный» конечно маленький , мебель старая, но хорошая. Кондиционер работает, горячая вода есть, если знаете что надо включать выключатель бойлера (везде так). Персонал 5+. Забыл в номере худи. Сначала долго не могли найти, но потом все же нашли и отправили мне курьерской доставкой на южное побережье, спасибо вам огромное!!! Не дали замерзнуть😆.

Ниже НЕ относится к отелю. Работники заповедника очень наглые, просят типсы за фотки, при чем говорят сколько конкретно чаевых им надо! Если даешь меньше начинают ворочать нос. Я просто послал его типо не хочешь брать иди лесом и ушел, он расстроен. Сложилось впечатление что к слонам не очень хорошо относятся, так как и ездить не них предлагают, и кладут их в воду чтобы туристы на них садились. Ну чето не как заповедник, а больше Тайланд напоминает.

Приехали в отель в 10.00 вечера.на картах указан не верно,искали под дождем.был забронирован улучшеный номер с видом на реку.по факту это номера в полуподвале под рестораном,где проходило «частное мероприятие» с музыкой.которая долбила до утра,и это там частое явление,т.к ресторан сдают под мероприятия,когда в 2.00 ночи музыка наконец-то смолкла,повара у себя на кухне врубили колонку,это было ужасно,муж ходил и просил их дать поспать хотя бы пару часов.к слову в номере грязно и некомфортно.в ресторане на завтраке тоже ужасно все грязно и в мухах,спасла только девочка,которая жарила местные блинчики с яйцом.слонов к сожалению мы так и не увидели.т.к река была полноводная,управляющая ,за ночные неудобства предложила нам комплимент в виде посещения слоновьего питомника,чтобы покормить слонов(купаться и кататься мы сразу отказались).по приезду в питомник ,оказалось,что мы должны им заплатить 10000 рупий.сомнительный комплимент.потом вроде они как поняли друг друга,но нам уже было не нужно,только еще потратили время на поездку в питомник. Никому не рекомендую данный отель,даже на одну ночь,если не хотите оказаться в грязном и обшарпанном месте с очень некачественными услугами.

We liked the staff. All personnel was attentive. Elephant's bathing spot is right on the territory of the hotel and you can watch them bathing out of the room. It is not guaranteed that you will see elephants: we saw them on the third day. Two days they did not bath as the river level was high after rains.

This property belongs to Elephant park hotel group, rooms are overlooking the river although balcony area is kinda shared and it’s a passage but only for people who are living in the hotel. Breakfast was really good and plenty options. This property also have a pool. All the amenities are in a different building. Andrew made our stay really comfortable. Rooms are little small but manageable

Идеальное расположение, если вы приехали посмотреть на слонов. Можно завтракать, купаться в бассейне и наблюдать за слонами. В номере есть всё необходимое.

La habitación está correcta, es amplia y limpia.

La ubicación, por el tema del orfanato de Elefantes, dan mucha pena como son tratados, no es culpa del hotel, pero es la gracia del hotel y lo hemos pasado mal.

I would recommend this hotel for its views of the river, foods, courteous staff, and convenient location. It offers fair experience for money.

Ubytování mělo neuvěřitelný zápach. Koupelna byla špinavá a celkově ta vesnice po 17 hodině už nebyla moc sympatická. Neustále na nás někdo mluvil a necítili jsme se tady moc bezpečně. Doporučuji tuto lokalitu jen jako jednodenní výlet bez přespání.

К сожалению, слонов, на потеху проживающих, приводят насильно, некоторых на цепи приковывают в реке, у провожатых есть острые копья, которые они не скрывают, для управления слонами, это просто жуть, приезжать сюда снова и смотреть на всё это нет никакого желания!

Booking a driver through the hotel form Kandy which saved us entry fee and Driver was very good.

During our stay at the hotel, we were taken care of by the activity manager Andrew, who was very friendly and helped us to find our way around Sri Lanka on our first day. We had absolute trust in him, as he often gave us good advice on how to have a good time in Sri Lanka. I hope we will meet again in the future.

Tidy, clean apartment. Very comfortable. We went for a dinner which was quite good.

Maybe it was our naïveté to think that elephants visiting the hotel periodically each day is something about elephants liking the place. It’s a entertainment made for tourist that can’t be done without pointy sticks and yelling - maybe some people will appreciate this for a nice image with elephant. But those creatures are wild, better to see them in their natural habitat.

The location was perfect. Right at the Elephant Bathing Spot. The staff was really nice.

Rooms are not only dated, but was well not well maintained. Only surface cleaning is happening, no deep clean, with mold in multiple places. Recommend replacing cleaning crew and maintenance as significant changes can be achieved with very little investment (such as deep clean and a bit of white paint).
