el hotel se encontraba en obras, tuvimos que pedir que nos cambiaran de habitacion ya que el aire acondicionado hacia mucho ruido

El hotel es muy amplio y las vistas son preciosas

Die Anlage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und einige Sachen in den - sauberen - Zimmern müssten renoviert werden. Das ist aber nebensächlich, weil man ja eh nur wegen der Elefanten kommt und die Aussicht von der Terrasse, dem Pool oder dem Balkon ist grandios. Der Service ist auch gut, genau so wie das Frühstück und das WLAN.

Die Vorhänge könnten mehr abdunkeln (ist aber fast überall ein Problem)

Great view of the elephants. Rooms were decent.

Most of the staff was a bit indifferent towards the guests. The phone to reception didn't work and they weren't picking up the phones listed in the app or the internet. They ask guests to leave a 10 star review when leaving.

The Location was amazing. We had elephants walk up to the handrail and we ended up feeding them.

The location was very good. I can see the elephants from up close so many times when they bathing. So it was a nice and happy feeling.

Cuando cae el sol si quieres salir del hotel a cenar o así, no hay luz hasta que llegas a la calle principal.

Чистий свіжий номер з гарною білизною та білосніжними рушниками. Приголомшливий вид з вікна на річку в якій купаються слони. Бассейн з видом на слонім вище всяких похвал. На час купання слонів ми мали величезну перевагу на перегляд, в готелі дуже мало відпочиваючих. Так як ми заселились після 19 години то квитки на перегляд купання слонів ми вже не купували і на наступний день це вже було для нас безкоштовно, то це є додатковою перевагою і економією.

The location was really good and the staff were so very welcoming and helpful. The vibe of the place felt homely.

The physical building needs lots of attention. Unfinished work of the interior was very visible.

Замечательное расположение 😊 Слонов можно посмотреть с 10 до 12, и с 14 до 16. Очень приветливый и отзывчивый персонал. Остались очень довольны.

The Elephants were so close to us which was why we stayed there. The rooms we spacious, clean and had a good view of the river. The food was good, breakfast excellent!!! The pool was lovely.

Check in 4 pm- but we asked for late check out and got 3 pm for free.

La mejor parte del hotel, sin duda, son las vistas. Desde allí se puede disfrutar de unas vistas preciosas al río y ver a los elefantes. Lo que hace que la experiencia realmente merezca la pena. En cuanto a la habitación, me pareció bastante sencilla y algo anticuada, y la sensación general en cuanto a calidad y mantenimiento podría mejorar. No es un alojamiento que destaque por sus instalaciones, pero las vistas al río y la posibilidad de contemplar elefantes hacen que la visita al hotel valga la pena.

You stay here for the view! The rooms are average and not that clean. But the view of the elephants makes up for its fails.

Даже и не знаю что написать про данный отель. Единственный плюс для меня, мы забыли в номере личную вещь. Нам её на такси отправили в другой отель. Спасибо за это. Остально я даже не знаю как описать. Некоторые слоны на цепях привязаны. Бассейн чистый. В номере без обуви невозможно ходить. Да и вообще спать на этом постельном и вытираться полотенцами которые там сомнительно прям 🙈

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The restaurant deserves a special mention: the food was absolutely delicious, with excellent quality and great attention to detail. We especially appreciated the warm and professional service throughout our stay. A special thank you to Yasith, who was incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. His service really made a difference and contributed to making our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended — we would be very happy to come back!

Amazing view of the elephants in the river. Of the few hotels with river views this is by far the nicest. The pool and landscaped grounds are very nice to sit in.

There was construction happening during our stay with most of the noisy work occurring at night. Also the food choices in the hotel restaurant were limited and a bit bland and there really isn’t many other options around.

Le restaurant est dans la gamme élevé pour le Sri Lanka, mais pas la cuisine. La piscine mériterait un coup d'aspirateur

En general la insistencia del personal mientras estas cenando. El tema de los elefantes es un poco circo, salen a las mismas horas y cuando les ves que les atan con cadenas en el rio como un espectáculo… decepcionante, pensabamos que era un orfanato y les llevaban alli libres…

The property location is best for watching elephants bathing in river.

Food was Good if you order continental, Noodles were good! we are vegetarian so experience some difficulty due to the same ! Naan what we ordered was too hard !swimming pool is not that clean ! No lifts so when you are coming up with senior citizens and they have difficulty in walking/ climbing that has to be kept in mind , we discover that after staying there .

⭐ 1/5, EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE, NEVER AGAIN We travelled from the UK as a group of seven and booked two rooms at Hotel Elephant Bay. We have visited Pinnawala before and have stayed at other hotels in the area, all of which provided us with great hospitality and service. Unfortunately, Hotel Elephant Bay was a completely different experience. This was particularly disappointing because, given the hotel itself and its fantastic location, we genuinely expected a much higher standard of service and hospitality. When we arrived, Yasith from the front office gave us a room that was extremely dirty and had bugs inside. What made this even more concerning was that we had specifically explained that my cousin, who was travelling with us, had already suffered an infection from bug bites before arriving at the hotel. Despite being made aware of this, we were still given the room. When we raised the issue, there was initially hesitation about even changing our room. Eventually, we were moved to another room, but unbelievably, we were then told that WE had to physically pick up and move the bed from the original room into the replacement room because three of us needed to sleep there. I have never stayed at a hotel where paying guests are expected to move beds and hotel furniture themselves because the hotel has failed to properly prepare the replacement room. To make matters worse, after everything we had already experienced, we were then charged additional money for the room. Yasith and the rest of the front reception team seemed far more concerned about making sure we paid the additional charge than actually addressing why we had been placed in a dirty room with bugs in the first place. When we questioned the additional charge and the way the situation had been handled, Yasith and the rest of the reception team were extremely rude and unprofessional towards us. There was very little apology, accountability or attempt to make things right.

今回は子供と添い寝のプランで予約したのに、チェックインの時にトリプルの部屋に変えないと狭いと感じ悪くひつこく言われて、チェックインから対応がとても悪かった。 部屋のタオルも枕カバーも綺麗ではなくて、使えなかった。

De locatie was super. Gelukkig was de rivier gezakt waardoor de olifanten weer heel dicht bij het hotel kwamen. Het ontbijt, lunch en diner waren erg lekker en goed gevarieerd.

Warning – Absolute Scam! We booked what was advertised as the best and most expensive suite with a river view. What we got instead was, without a doubt, the worst, dirtiest, and most outrageous hotel I have ever stayed in. During our entire trip through Sri Lanka, there wasn’t a single place where we felt as uncomfortable as we did here. The bathroom looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The entire room smelled awful, there was dirt and dust everywhere, the windows were absolutely filthy, and to even reach our room, we had to walk through an active construction site. As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was hammering, drilling, and sawing right outside our room until 4:00 a.m. Getting any sleep was simply impossible. The fact that paying guests are expected to stay under these conditions is absolutely outrageous. The restaurant was the final insult. The food was a complete disappointment—tiny portions, carelessly prepared, and outrageously overpriced. The so-called seafood pasta consisted of processed sauce, penne, a few olives, and one tiny shredded shrimp, topped off with a hair from the chef. Absolutely disgusting. What was particularly revealing was the staff’s attitude as soon as we complained about the construction noise throughout the night. Their fake smiles disappeared instantly. Instead of an apology or any attempt to resolve the situation, all we got was a cold, emotionless: “No refund.” Apparently, customer service here ends the moment guests expect an actual solution to a legitimate problem. The only positive thing about this place was the genuinely friendly waiter, who was clearly not responsible for the hotel’s complete failure. My advice: Save your money. This hotel offers neither relaxation, cleanliness, nor decent service. Instead, you can expect construction noise, unacceptable hygiene, and sleepless nights. If you want to enjoy your vacation, stay as far away from this hotel as possible.

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Sehr saubere Zimmer. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Alles in einem einfach Perfekt. Wer nach Sri Lanka reist muss in dieses Hotel.

Achtung vom Elefantenzoo in der Nähe . Abzocker. Es gibt andere Plötze wo man Elefanten waschen und streicheln kann.

The location is pretty special it promotes the elephants however theese are down stream and you have to pay extra to see them in the elephant orphanage down the road from the hotel. I do not feel how they treat the elephants are ethnical at all and used as a money making tourist attraction The staff are very welcoming and the food was good!

The hotel itself is run down and needs some serious clean up. The bedding was dirty and there was mattresses in the hallway and an old bath tub! Along with a lot of dead bumble bees in the morning.

La terrasse au bord de la rivière est top surtout le soir. Nous avons très bien mangé le soir. Le petit déjeuner, le meilleur de notre séjour. Un conseil, achetez vos tickets avant à l'orphelinat des éléphants, les policiers sont très pénibles. Notre ticket a dû être vérifié au moins 4 fois en une matinée, à croire que les touristes sont des voleurs.

Un petit doute sur la propreté des draps et serviettes. Sinon tout le reste impeccable. Un conseil, achetez vos tickets avant à l'orphelinat des éléphants, les policiers sont très pénibles. Notre ticket a dû être vérifié au moins 4 fois en une matinée, on nous prend pour des voleurs les touristes étrangers.

The location is tremendous especially when you can have breakfast and swim with the elephants in front of you from 8.30am. It’s amazing to lookout and see the elephants with space to enjoy instead of being caught in the crowds. The staff were very friendly and helpful

My bathroom didn't have full window. The top half was covered with mesh, so virtually all the noise from outside came straight into the room. The bathroom door also didn't close fully and scraped across the floor every time it was opened or closed. Not ideal for a person who has mobility issues. Unfortunately, my room was located directly above the bar and restaurant, and I was kept awake for most of the night by staff banging around and the TV playing sports loudly until about 10:30pm. I asked if I could pay to upgrade to a different room, but I was told the hotel was fully booked. However, it appeared that there were still several rooms available. I even sent the hotel a message afterwards in case there had been a language barrier, but they never had the courtesy to reply. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the condition of the room and the lack of customer service.

We travelled as a family and had a wonderful stay. The property is set in a beautiful natural location with a stunning views od the river, where you can even spot elephants in the morning. The breakfast was delcious and offered a great variety of options. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Our fligt was delayed, so we didn't arrive until 2 am, but that was not a problem at all. The highlight of our stay was seeing elephants up close, it was an unforgettable experience.

Everything was just perfect.

Der Aufenthalt war für uns und unsere Kinder ein absolutes Highlight. Wir hatten ein wunderbares Zimmer mit einer großen Terrasse und direktem Blick auf die Elefanten. Das Hotel ist im Gegensatz zum Nachbarhotel sehr schick und edel. Unsere Jungs konnten mit den Elefanten baden und am nächsten Morgen kamen sie direkt ans Hotel, wo wir sie streicheln und füttern konnten. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis! Auch das Personal ist sehr lieb und das Essen sowie die Getränke waren ebenfalls gut. Der Infinitypool war eine Wucht mit Ausblick auf die Elefanten.

كل شيء في الفندق كان رائعا موظفين ومرافق ومسبح جميل مع أطلالة خرافية غلى النهر الجاري وخرير المياه الذي زاد المكان روعة كانك في الجنة بالأضافة الى التمتع بالفيلة وهي تسبح في النهر فطور ممتاز واود ان اشكر Abe موظف المطعم كان بشوشا متعاونا وخدوما كما اشكر موظف الاستقبال Yasith الذي كان مسؤولا رائعا يحسن التصرف والتعامل مع النزلاء ضاع ملابس بنتي عندما نشرتها في الليل في الشرفة فما ارتاح اه بال حتى وجدها شمرا من القلب انت من افضل من قابلنا

В первом предложенном номере был шкаф со сломанными дверьми. И сломанным ящиком стола. Номер заменили на аналогичный. Но в новом номере отсутствовал вентилятор (в соседнем аналогичном номере он был), частично отсутствовали лампы освещения. Пол был очень грязный, что ноги буквально прилипали. В целом вид четырехзвезочного отеля уставший, потрепанный. Из полотенец предлагается только одно большое на человека. для рук и ног полотенца отсутствуют - это не удобно когда находишься там больше одной ночи. Уборки номеров не было.

View from Hotel Elephant Bay is 10 out of 10. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is good. Safe place to leave tuk tuk. Clean room, welcome drink and decorations in room. AC in room. Definitely would recommend.
