My mother and shared bungalw adapted for disabled . Beautiful room clean bathroom to catered with wet floor shower . We had a wonderful little private patio where we could sit and admire the beautiful grounds. It was fantastic. Beds comfortable large screen tv on wall. Absolutly nothing to complain about . The staff were lovely helpful and nothing was any trouble. We saw tribute show which included meal celebrating my 60th birthday with my big family. The 2 course meal was beautiful well worth £30 a head for and i recommend if you go on one of these events that are regularly held there you wont come away dissapointed. We will be back soon . Family already looking at future tribute evenings to go to. Thankyou to all staff and performers on the evening for a stunning successful evening where everyone there joined in .

Beautiful homely well designed hotel. The grounds are spectacular. We booked the Kings Croft as a small intimate wedding venue and stay over and it did not disappoint. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful and could not have done more to make us feel relaxed and welcome. A big thank you to Kieran, Darrell, Kiera, Jessica & Charlotte and all the others who made our day so special. The room was spotless and comfortable and the buffet breakfast amazing.

Delicious dinner. fantastic breakfast. wonderful staff ( they deserve a raise !! ) The beer selection is good BUT I would like to see at least one hand pulled beer. A place like this would do well to honour British Beer with a real ale and a pint of bitter.

room faced a corridor with no outside view. Out of 5 visits I didn't know they had rooms like this. I'll know better to specify next time.

Window over looked a corridor so couldn't open for fresh air, the room had a smell like a cooking smell ,the chair to sit on looked like spilt sugar also the room looked like it needed a good dusting and a good vacuuming

The room was well equipped but small, we had to sidestep around the bed. We were staying for a wedding and the food served for the wedding was lovely. Breakfast was included, this also was very nice. On the whole staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful.

The room was small, be as we were only sleeping in it for one night adequate. The room backed on to the service yard at the back and had the noise of the bottles and rubbish being emptied. If we had wanted a nap in the afternoon it would have been difficult and the noise woke us in the morning. Finding the breakfast room in the morning was difficult, there wasn't anyone around to direct us. Service at breakfast was a little slow.

Don’t think there was anything to dislike

The staff were very helpful, very clean room. we booked a small room.... it was fine for one night, had everything you needed, but would definitely book a larger room next time. Views were stunning. Grounds were well kept and clean and tidy.

The venue is beautiful and staff attentive. Had the best night sleep I didn’t want to get up!

The room was what you would expect for the price paid, we were in ghe stable block known as bungalows, no air con which made the room stuffy there was a fan though. Plenty of hanging space. Clean, tidy rooms, great views over the locality.

Breakfast was dire, full English was all that was offered, satisfied most but not me. Fruit juice was from concentrate, coffee instant No continental at all, the yoghurts whuch were few were not on ice ie. they were warm. The milk was not placed on a chiller, the water ti make tea was not from a boiler, it was a luke warm jug of water. The cerals were poor quality and not crisp, I think they hzd been in the dispenser for days. Finally breakfast finished at 9.30 at 9.35 staff began to clear away taking cups and saucers removing the coffee and cereals, some people had only just arrived for breakfast, total frustration ensued. A poor show.

Only thing was the sun black out blind in the Roof window was broken so didn’t stop the light coming in early in the morning . Like a darker room .

the mattress had certainly seen better days and although the room was decorated to look opulent fixtures and fittings such as the bathroom let it down. The price didn't really match the stay.

Staff were all lovely and helpful. The room and bathroom were both clean and the facilities were good.

The room was great!

The fire alarm went off about 3.00am in the morning and having to get up and see what was going on. No apparent reason which was rather upsetting our sleep.

Had all that I required for one night. Restaurant was well organised and busy.

Where I stayed in the hotel was a small room for one person, but had no room to put my carry on bag except on the bed. Also, as I am 80 years old it was extremely difficult moving through the rabbit warren of stair cases etc.

Gardens were lovely, bungalows were pleasant. Convenient parking

Very set up for events and not very relaxing. Lounge area small , layout a bit confusing. Power cut lasted most of one day, key card kept deactivating.

Event on, very very loud, we were staying for a wedding and barely slept due to the noise.

The people are very friendly and it's a nice location with a traditional pub.

The room's window looked out onto a corridor, the lighting was like being in an office and there were no bedside lights. During the night the A/C unit made a horrendous sound every 45 minutes which kept me awake all night. I did tell the staff at the front desk on check out and they were very apologetic.

EV charger wasn't working despite staff efforts to resolve this.

Lovely hotel in gorgeous setting, well placed for Pontefract or if travelling through. Plenty of car parking and grounds are lovely. A place full of character with very friendly, helpful staff. Food was good and beds comfy.

Evening meal's were amazing, great value for money and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. plenty of place to sit either indoors or outside.

The mattress could have better but it was ok when lying on it. There was no door to the shower which meant getting the bathroom floor wet was unavoidable. The cubicle is designed without a door.

The staff was so nice and accommodating to us, the breakfast and dinner was also very tasty. I would definitely stay there again, I'm sure it's very beautiful in the winter with snow.

There's no air-conditioning, which is ok, it was pretty cool outside, we had the windows opened and they supplied a room fan. I wasn't to big on the shower,

Location, restaurant & particularly restaurant staff were lovely.

Not informed at Booking that there were two tribute acts plus disco until midnight. Initial room booked totally unsuitable in heatwave, tiny, fan in room, no air-con. Was assured there was air-con when moved to different room .... Which there was NOT ... Again just a fan. At this stage after a 4hr drive for business and trawling from one end to the other of the hotel, opened window and just coped (better room size for fan to distribute hot air!!)

Everything! I travelled all the way from Scotland to enjoy again the Kings Croft Hotel's famous chicken wings!

The food was good and value for money. The gardens and terraces were beautiful.

We decided on this visit to book a bungalow to avoid using stairs. We had seen the bungalows and were happy to book one but unfortunately the one we were given was not to our liking and it was different from the others. It was very modern with no privacy and very basic. This is the reason we didn't give full marks.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds, with nice outdoor spaces to enjoy. The restaurant food was exceptional.

Room was a bit small, but fine for an overnight stay.

The rooms we got were a lot smaller than we had expected however the biggest issue is that room 14 was next to an entrance where what appears to be goods (beer barrels for example were delivered) It was quite noisy at night as we had to leave a window open due to the hot weather I would imagine the room could become very warm in this weather even with the fan supplied

A good stay. Room was fine, slightly on the small size. Excellent shower. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, at reception and in the restaurant. The food was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast.

Staff were friendly especially the reception who doubled as a bar maid the night we were there.

I loved the grounds. The hotel is in a beautiful idyllic setting, with a little pond and also lots of different areas to relax in. We attended a wedding here, and the staff were great. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The food here is absolutely incredible

The AC didnt do very much, we were in a room off the corridor so didnt have a window and there wasnt a fan in the room. This is the only negative I can say

It was beyond our expectations, didn’t know it was also a wedding location and had a top notch restaurant on site, lovely place and gardens.

Little far away from the race course where we were attending, needed a taxi but to be fair we did know this so our problem really. Yes I’m just moaning a bit. Superb hotel.

1. There was a wedding with around 100 guest. Very loud music until midnight, guest swearing and shouting outside our room for another hour. We had very little sleep that night. 2. We specified that we wanted access to an EV charger and were assured by both Booking.com and staff at the hotel that this would be no problem. All four chargers were broken. Had we been told about the wedding or the chargers, we would have booked elsewhere.

Room spacious and clean. Grounds beautiful. Dining areas fair. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cheeseboard in evening excellent.

Water in room would be nice but there was none. No fridge in room. Breakfast very poor. Toaster wasn’t functional. No fruit. No pastries. Cereals very basic. Tea and coffee poor. Didn’t bother with breakfast on second day. Evening meals-starters poor and mains reasonable.

Staff approach to guests was excellent.

Bathroom heating was too hot.

We loved our rooms overlooking the gardens, which were beautiful.

My only complaint regards the mattress in G2 - which was incredibly uncomfortable (soft to the point you completely sank into a hollow, which made sleeping difficult) so ought to be replaced ASAP. However, everything else was perfect. The mattress was the only thing to let the room down.

The central heating control was broken in our room. The shower doors did not close properly so we had to be careful not to flood the shower room floor!

Staff were superb, especially evening serving staff. All had very positive attitude and were really careful to make sure all needs were answered with special attention to my own personal needs. Food was excellent. Even the meals which are found listed in many hotels these days were carefully thought out and served to make them particularly attractive. The specials meals were particularly good with some degree of creativity. All areas were spotlessly clean and the rooms serviced daily.

I liked the idea of the "bungalow" accommodation but ...... Had I arrived a few weeks earlier I would have been unable to stay in the room allocated. It was one of the "bungalow" rooms, chosen as I had recently had an operation and knew that ground floor accommodation was essential. Unfortunately I arrived during a heatwave and the full wall windows faced the sun creating a greenhouse effect. There was no way of escaping the direct heat without keeping the curtains closed. Thankfully there was a fan which helped a little. I had anticipated that the room would have a comfortable seat of some kind but there was only an upright chair behind a desk-type structure. Other images of this type of accommodation show a settee which would have better suited my physical needs. Sitting on the bed with little back support and legs outstretched was very uncomfortable. In spite of the problems experienced I still enjoyed my stay as I was able to spend days out in cooler locations. I would certainly book to stay in one of the "bungalows" again but would ask for a different style with better facilities.

there were 3 wonderful things about this property and everything else was not good. Good - staff was nice, beds were comfortable and the view of the grounds is beautiful. The staff were quite abrubt and not friendly, we were not told about the door being locked at midnight and as we were at a wedding do we were later than that we were locked out!! After numerous door bell ringing and phone calls that were not answered, someone finally came. We were let in by a not so friendly gentleman !! Not good

The first time we been their and the wedding venue took over all of the hotel, there were no for residents to have a quiet drink, staff says it should not have happened and would raise it with management

The staff were great,friendly and very helpful,went out of their way to make sure you were happy if you needed anything,the food we had was really good and well presented,liked the ironing board and iron in the wardrobe,everything was clean,had bath and shower in our room and bed comfortable,was sunny so had a nice stroll into Pontefract,bout twenty minutes and less than a fiver in Uber to racecourse,or xscape and junction 32 so very handy location,would definitely stay again

The breakfast,help yourself buffet style was lovely,and food hot,but Saturday morning they couldn't keep up with the demand and people having to ask and wait for things,could of done with one person constantly keeping an eye on things,but that was my only negative thing,the cooked breakfast itself was really nice,the mushrooms were gorgeous not like the watery ones you usually get in hotels,and will cook vegetarian sausages if you ask and breakfast included in price of hotel

This venue states that it is a function led venue and if you require a quiet room to book an executive room. I did that. The room was genuinely the noisiest I have ever stayed in - directly above a function room. When raising the issue with the owner - he simply said the venue states it is function led - helpfully excusing himself from the fact that it does say book an executive room for quietness. Simply no responsibility, accountability or customer understanding. It’s a matter of I’ve got the money and we’re done.
