Die Lage war okay, weil am Strand. Der Weg dahin und die Umgebung war sehr dreckig.

Die Sauberkeit war quasi nicht gegeben. Im Bad stand es nach Klärgrube und die Betten Rochen nach Urin. Dad Bad wurde nicht vor unserer Anreise geputzt. Am Badspiegel war alles voller alter Zahnpasta, es war dreckig, staubig und eine tote Kakerlake lag noch in einer Ecke. Ekelhaft.

Leider ist die Unterkunft sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Bilder spiegeln den aktuellen Stand nicht wider. Eventuell war es mal vor 15 Jahren so. Überall sind Krähen und die sind sehr laut. Wir haben erst gar nicht eingecheckt, weil die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert hat. Nachdem man uns gesagt hat sie wird in 30 min repariert und nach zwei Stunden ging sie immer noch nicht, haben wir ein anderes Hotel gebucht. Die Eigentümer waren sehr kühl und man wurde auch nicht wirklich in Empfang genommen. Es kam kein wohlfühl Gefühl auf.

It was amazing on the beach, the rooms are really nice and the staff very kind.

The Room was spacious and right on the beach with a view of the sea right from the window. The overall oulook of the room is positive with a fridge, a table and a beautiful dressing table. The bathroom was clean and spacious.

The facility felt like a ghost town in the night. Since it is managed more like a house cum hotel some caretaker are running it. I tried to reach out to them in the evening to get some water but there was no one to be found. The caretaker also runs a whale-watching business, which I booked with him, but in the morning he left with someone else because there were more people and hence more money. That makes me not trust him again.

De buurt/omgeving waar de locatie zich bevindt is maar zo zo en erg afgelegen. Om ergens te komen moet je vervoer hebben.

Good price and private beach, the people facilitating the hotel tried their best to support you. It is close to a good diving spot to see a lot of fish. Sunrise is also beautiful here. I appreciate that they are trying their best in a new part of town.

It was a really dark room with a cold shower, and frankly in what didn’t feel like a very comfortable part of town. I walked around at sunset and just got a feeling that I wasn’t safe- and this is coming from someone who travels a lot alone and lives in big cities. The beach was littered with trash and a lot of stray dogs jumping over you constantly. The local tour guides also have no sense of personal space, and will sit on your sunbed for hours waiting for their group, trying to talk to you/ other tour guides. Half of the beach is also owned by the navy so you can’t use it. There was also a very uncomfortable situation when trying to pay, they kept insisting on cash when I was leaving and didn’t make this clear at all when I checked in. I had my uber waiting and helping me communicate with the manager, because the people who lived in the house behind and serviced the property didn’t speak English. They need to accept card/ give visitors a heads up/ accept payment via booking.com. I ended up having to go to a bank and transfer the owner which was a real faff and they kept tracking where I was via the independent Uber driver. I actually cancelled my 2nd night and left a day early because I felt so uncomfortable. Local women and men were staring at me when I was walking around on the beach in my swimsuit which didn’t feel great.

Le personnel est tres accueillant et aux petits soins. L’emplacement est juste magique ! Le logement était propre, les portions de petit déjeuner était généreuses. Notre guide a pu arranger un tour en bateau avec le propriétaire de l’hotel en partant à 6:30am directement sur la plage de l’hotel.

Le lit mériterait d’etre un peu plus confortable. La salle de bain sentait un peu les égouts.

I had a wonderful stay at Janas Blue Water Corner. The location is beachfront, and the view of the beach is stunning. The room was clean and new. The breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality was excellent. The location is beachfront, and you can do snorkeling.

Posto fantastico sulla spiaggia nella baia di Sandy Bay Beach. Mare bellissimo e calmo, con scogliera ricca di pesci, meglio di Nilaveli Beach. Ottimo tutto: camera, fresh juice, birra, cena e colazione. Famiglia dell'host molto carina e gentile. La notte dormi con le onde di sottofondo. La mattina presto ci sono i pescatori di ritorno dalla pesca e puoi stare li con loro ad osservare e fotografare.

Consigli: migliorare i tempi per la cena e colazione. Pulire spiaggia davanti e i lettini. Installare zanzariere nella finestra per poter tenerla un pò aperta la notte per sentire meglio e dormire cullati dal rumore delle onde.

La famiglia che gestisce la struttura fa del suo meglio per farti stare bene, nonostante le barriere comunicative. La posizione di fronte ad una spiaggia molto bella e piena di vita marittima è davvero inestimabile, consiglio infatti di approfittarne per fare snorkeling (la stessa famiglia offre diverse attività tra le quali questa). Colazione buona.

La posizione è in una area residenziale dove per andare a mangiare o visitare altri punti d’interesse hai bisogno di almeno 5 minuti di tuk tuk. Oltre ciò i conducenti si perdono per venirti a prendere o portarti perché le coordinate di google non sono chiare. La stanza è esposta a molti rumori (oltre alle onde) e il bagno non è molto accogliente: alcuni insetti possono far visita e c’è un odore di umidità abbastanza forte. Ma hey… hai il mare di fronte e in una zona senza turisti molesti, cosa vuoi di più?

Fantastisches Frühstück, saubere Zimmer, funktionierender AC und Ventilator, Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Zimmer liegt direkt an einem untouristischeb Strand. Morgens kann man den Sonnenaufgang und die Fischerbote gut beobachten. Sehr nette Gastgeberfamilie. Wir wurden sogar zur Geburtstagsfeier eingeladen. Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.

Die Lage mit direktem Strandzugang und das kostenfreie Ausleihen der Schnorchelausrüstung waren super.

The place is right on the beach, so it literally feels like you have your own private paradise. There are only 2 rooms for rent, which makes it super quiet and cozy, and the hosts go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The food? Just amazing. Breakfast was included and they served it whenever I wanted (yes, even late mornings 🙈). Lunch and dinner were homemade, fresh, and so flavorful – with plenty of variety to choose from. Honestly, it was so good I didn’t even feel the need to eat out in town. On top of that, the price is more than fair, and the hosts are always ready to help with literally anything: tuk-tuks, trips, shopping, you name it. A truly stunning stay – can’t recommend it enough! 🌊✨

Hostel managed by a 7 years old child. Internet and light not working for the most of the time. Not safe place because it is close a sort of "favela".

It's just a cottage on beach. The cottage has been built well. It's not more than a type of homestay. The hosts are kind, helpful and forthright. They provided drinking water, one bathing towel, and electric kettle/ beach towel on demand. Breakfast was decent ( Noodles/ fries/ fruits/ tea/ coffee) but fixed. Near the main attractions if you can maneuver outside the narrow lane. Maria aquarium down the lane can be used as location for app based vehicles. Access to beach - just 50 feet away.

It's not a starred facility. It's just a cottage . How has it been called five star? No reception/ front desk. No housekeeping ( the hosts clean themselves). House kitchen ( hosts cook themselves). No toiletries ( except tiniest possible bar of soap). No slippers ( the host lent me his own footwear on insistence). Very hot ( the tiny AC could not cool the room even when temperature is set at 16 degrees). Bed sheets were ' satin' but had stains on them. Hot water geyser in bathroom was attached directly to a hand shower if you want to get scalded. Although there was no need of hot water during my visit. It was already smeltering. No wardrobe but there was a open thing to hang or place clothes. (There was a vanity table though.) No locker. The door latch was broken. Location is too deep. My cab driver went in circles for 20 minutes before we could find it. The lane is too narrow. No breakfast buffet. The stay was passable but not value for money.

Literally in front of the sea. The bedroom was ok. The best thing was that it had a mini refrigerator in the room. The host nice and good breakfast!

The neighbourhood was not nice, if you’re planning to visit the city center or move to other places, it’s not recommended.

Posizione splendida a quattro gradini di distanza da una spiaggia molto bella dove si può fare snorkeling e (con un po' di fortuna - noi l'abbiamo avuta) vedere le tartarughe. Situazione molto "local" con arrivo logisticamente complicato e un contorno di pescatori e speedy boat un po' distante dagli standard occidentali. Quando poi ti fai conquistare dalla pace e bellezza della situazione può diventare casa.

La posizione su una caletta con acqua e spiaggia splendide, con possibilità di snorkeling. Abbiamo visto una tartaruga nuotare proprio a riva! Stanza bellissima con veranda, aria condizionata, letto molto comodo. La cucina è ottima, sia la colazione sia gli altri pasti. Complimenti! Straconsigliato

I live that it is beachfront. You literally step out into paradise every morning. The staff is a wonderful family that truly ho above and beyond for you. The breakfast is top tier and changes everyday. The activities are much cheaper than the surrounding venues. It is a little further from the action and nightlife but it is a simple drive that’s affordable to the cities active center. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I am so glad I found this property and the value is unmatched.

I have no negative thoughts on this property.

Food orders took a very long time. Random visitors to the beach sat on all the beach chairs / beds so no room for the actual guests

My girlfriend and I stayed at Janas Blue Water Corner for 4 nights at the end of may. It was such a lovely experience! The place is so beautiful, the room with bathroom was really nice and clean and the AC worked well. The beach right in front was clean and great to relax. It is also great for swimming and snorkling. The hostess Jana made us really good tasting breakfast and dinner in the evening. She was attentive and kind. Her family members were also there helping her and also helping us, when we needed help with our tuktuk or other things. A very nice family! We truly loved our stay there and would recommend this place to everyone! We actually wished we could take it to every next stop on our journey around the island.

At the beach there were many crows making a lot of noise.

The hospitality was amazing. They treated us like family and cooked delicious breakfast. The waterfront property was outstanding with great snorkelling. We will most definitely come back one day. Great value for what you pay!

Location is a GEM. You are at the beach. Ideal point for safe sea bath and snorkeling.

If you travel by a large SUV / Car, the last 100 meters to the hotel is bit of challenge as the access road is extremely narrow for a full-size vehicle. But, still you can drive, but be extra-cautious in that last 100 meter stretch.

Such a lovely family and host, perfect food. We have been taken care of so much, met the whole family, enjoyed great food and even a scooter to explore the area was provided for a very reasonable price. Also pick up at the airport went very well. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definately come back here. Also the beach is very nice - yes, there is some plastic from time to time but still the beach overall is clean and only very soft sand, no stones. Snorkeling is also possible directly from the beach and you can see big puffer fish, corals and many others.

Nothing to add, we totally enjoyed our stay. If we should suggest something for an upgrade - 2 comfy sun beds for each of the 2 apartments would be a good improvement.

We had three fantastic nights at Jana’s Blue Water Corner — a truly special place run by a warm and welcoming family. The two guest rooms offer everything you need and are located directly on the beach in a picturesque fishing bay. The setting is peaceful and natural, perfect for relaxation. One of the highlights was the opportunity to join a private morning boat tour to see dolphins in the bay — a magical experience. The bay itself is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with warm waters (30–32°C in April/May) and a rich variety of marine life. We spotted countless colorful fish among the rocks, and with a bit of luck, even sea turtles! The food and drinks offered at the guesthouse were absolutely delicious — always freshly prepared and full of variety. On our last evening, we were treated to freshly caught fish, caught the traditional way right in the bay earlier that day — a memorable and authentic experience. A heartfelt thank you to the entire family for their wonderful hospitality. We wish you all continued happiness and success — and hope to return one day!

Everything about this accommodation is 10/10. The family are the most helpful and kind hosts. We arrived early and the hosts did a thorough cleaning of the room making sure everything was perfect before they gave it over to us. They also helped us rent a bike super quickly. The breakfast every morning is also delicious and plentiful. We were stuck inside due to rain one evening and on super short notice we were whipped up a wonderful 3 course meal. The hosts generosity truly knows no bounds. The location is incredible and looks out onto the most stunning little beach with an amazing sunrise. We would stay here again with no hesitation!

Well appointed cabana on the beach, very comfortable accommodation with amazing view of the sea. Tucked into the end of a working beach, fishing boats in & out all day. Quiet & well run, great breakfast on the terrace. Owners very gentle. Tuk Tuk ride into town, owners will book one.

Located at the end of the bay and just a few metres from the shore, middle of the bay are fishing boats and navy at the other side of the bay Beautiful sunrise and moonlight on the beach.

Travelling here using a car was a bit tricky. Very narrow road and some times chairs and motorcycles are just left outside. Have to toot the horn and wait. Only downside for this place.

Beach front location. Only a 20 minute walk to Fort Frederick and other beaches. Staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable.

Watch out for the crows. Don’t leave any food outside or they will take it within seconds of you leaving it if you’re not there.

The place is in front of the beach. The view is spectacular, especially in the morning. If you wake up around 5.30 am, you can see the sun rise from the horizon from the terrace. The breakfast was amazing and homemade, It was prepared by three lovely ladies .The owner is very friendly and he will help you with everything

The staff were very friendly and helpful and supplied a lovely breakfast each morning . There are two cabin rooms on the beach so it seems like you have your own little beach to yourself . It was out of the way from the main road but perfect for relaxation .

Even though you arrive in a very narrow street and probably think “where are we going?”, this was an incredible place to stay. You feel like living on your own private beach. The host was very friendly and wanted to make your stay as nice as possible. The breakfast was local and really good. They also offer a lot of things to do like dolphin watching, snorkeling… this was really an idyllic place and one of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka! Don’t let the location outside the city centre matter too much, a tuk tuk only costs 1000 rupees, like $3.

Great location for snorkelling and swimming, great, really warm and helpful staff, delicious local food for decent price and flexible to order. Air-conditioning, a modern bathroom, we took a boat organised by our host at the place for snorkelling, which was worth it! When we were there it was not crowded at all at the beach, only the sound of waves, fishermen and loud birds.

Though we really liked it, you have to be aware that the surrounding area is not a tourist area. No issue for us, we walked or took a tuktuk. there is a restricted area, hence we could not use the entire beach but as the beach is still big enough, that is no issue. We did a dolphin tour, saw a lot of dolphins and it is beautiful in the morning. But in the end one has to be aware that the boats are quite fast and loud coming really close to the dolphins - we care about protecting animals and had mixed feelings that day. :)

A clean room right in front of the beach. All day access to the small beach makes it feel like having a private beach. The beach is so tidy and with blue waters. The property is perfect for beach babies. The staff is very kind and helpful. They can arrange dolphin watching and snorkeling at affordable rates. Food is also available on request, hence, need not go far looking for a restaurant.

I think this might be the best location in Trincomalee. The rooms are just in front of Sandy Bay Beach, a small beach perfect to swim and relax. You will see friendly fishermen collecting their nets, this was one of the top memories we have from Sri Lanka. The fort is 45 minute walking, but a short ride with tuk tuk. The family running the homestay is kind and helpful, and they prepare a very good sri lankan breakfast. We totally reccommend staying here.

Served a local breakfast as I requested on a vegetarian basis. This was followed by a generous fruit platter and tea . Well presented by the staff.

We had an amazing stay here. We stayed for three days and felt like we were in heaven. The host is so so kind. She and her mom prepared the food, which was delicious, and they helped us in any way possible. We went dolphin watching which was also great. Direct access to the beach, clear blue water, views for days. Overall an amazing stay.

It’s a little hard to find and not super easy to access if you’re driving your own tuktuk. However the fact that it’s a little hidden away also means you enjoy a lot of privacy.

The location is excellent, and the cottage is newly built and impeccably clean. It is situated right in front of a pristine beach with a calm sea (as it is in a bay area, the waves are consistently low throughout the year). Ms. Vathani, the caretaker, is incredibly friendly and kind. She took care of every detail to ensure we felt at home.

Access road to the hotel is a bit narrow thus driving was a bit difficult but the boys from the hotel are there to help you navigate. Internet connection is weak.

Our 2nd and 3rd stays just as good as the 1st, we returned and stayed 2 nights tried to extend stay but villa was booked, after staying 4 days elsewhere we returned for a further 2 nights. Location is fantastic, price is good, staff are lovely and food is great value and tasty.

The hotel location was so beautiful, just in front of the beach (which is also very beautiful and perfect for snorkeling). The staff was super nice and attentive, they took care of all our needs. Food was very tasty and prices were low. The room was super clean. Finally, they delighted us with a fresh juice when leaving the hotel :) This structure is a 10/10

WiFi was not working, couldn’t get reception to my mobile network either. So could feel the lack of WiFi even worse. Could use electric fan out side the dining area instead of inside the room. It was very hot and lots of flies while having dinner. Could be resolved with electric fan.

Great stay if you’re in Trinco! The room was clean and spacious and the view on the ocean is amazing. They cooked us one of the best Sri Lanka dishes we had and the breakfast was also delicious. The host was very kind and we enjoyed being here.

Perfect cozy spot right next to an amazing isolated beach. Breakfast was amazing. Also took the dolphin & whale tour the hotel offers and wasn't disappointed (so many dolphins, also saw a whale). Cozy spot, great value for money.

Booking.com says card payments are possible, but actually they only accept cash. When we pointed out that they claimed we can pay with card, staff started lying to us (first that the terminal is "being repaired", second that they had told us that they accept cash only, which they hadn't).

The beach is really dirty - I know not the host fault but maybe the community can do some clean ups

We liked everything about this property and were sorry to leave this little bit of paradise! Our hosts Dencil and Vathani were so kind and helpful, and the food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner! The room was large and the bed comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The fridge in the room was definitely a plus, as was the air con. The bathroom was a good size and brightly lit, and there were 3pin square plugs for us British travellers - a nice surprise! Best of all was the terrace literally yards from the beautiful warm sea and white sand on the beach. This small bay is idyllic and watching the local fishermen tend to their boats each day was so interesting. Meals are served on the terrace and it’s a great place to sit and relax and enjoy a cool drink. Dencil has his own boat and arranges early morning trips to Dolphin/Whale watch at a fair price. We took advantage of this and had a great time searching for the dolphins and then watching them zip through the water as if enjoying every minute. We think Janus Blue Corner is an absolute gem and highly recommend it!!! Thank you Dencil and Vathani.

Nicest hosts we have had so far. Amazing meals prepared on the property by family. Amazing location. Nice swimming beach. Nice, quiet location set in local village. Enjoyed being included in local festivities. Villagers very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for Vathani and family - we were very sad to leave this place. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing peaceful location on a quiet beach with just 1 other cottage and fisherman. We swam each day on our beach. Beautiful and modern bungalow. Very special dinners and breakfasts each day meticulously prepared by the sweet manager. we walked to the local Trinco Beach and town and rented a scooter for a couple of days at a great price..

The accommodation is right on the beach and faces in the direction of the sunrise for beautiful views each morning. The staff were friendly and the big home cooked breakfasts provided each morning were amazing. The room was clean and comfortable, overall very good value and would recommend.

The accommodation is a fair distance from the main tourist areas, including the nicer beaches and restaurants, so would recommend having your own transportation or driver. We met a tuktuk driver who was happy to drive us around the whole time we were in Trincomalee, so this was not a big problem for us.

Entry road was very narrow. The neighborhood used to park bikes in the middle of the road.You cannot go without the assistance care taker , Rishi, but he is also con reachable most of time . You will be by yourself . The next interesting point is they clean the room once in 4days . The food is very late to come ..

The most comfortable accommodation we have in 20 days on Sri Lanka. The cleanest room and the quietest air conditioning. Best sleep in here. Breakfast also good.

Amazing experience, the location to start off with was the best I have stayed. Right on the beach and an amazing combination of beauty and seclusion topped with some genuinely friendly and helpful staff just makes this place a dream to stay at. We loved the food and the level of service was exquisite. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and the amazing sights are spellbinding. We just became fans.

Peaceful location, friendly family who runs te place. You can watch the sunrise and enjoy the beautiful beach. There is acces to activities: whale watching, snorkeling, diving,....

You are a bit isolated, most restaurants are at uppeveli so we needed a tuktuk for a lot of things. Wifi en 4G from SLT was not working, wifi from the cabana next to us was working most of the time so we used that one. For us it was perfect, we could totaly chill and enjoyed the slow life.

The bathroom window broken and replace with paper film made you feel a little exposed.

Nice place, directly at the best beach, nice family taking care of the guests, very good local breakfast, good offers for activities like snorkeling or dolphin watching. Perfect accomodation for us

Everything. The best thing about Janas its the staff. Denzel, his wife and kids made the stay an unforgettable memory. The premises are amazing, they seem new and its all tidy and clean. The beach in front of the cottage made our stay.. stunning. We did the dolphin watching and snorkeling activities. We highly recommend this place to stay… for at least 2 nights!

The view on the see it’s amazing, it’s like having a private beach shared with the fisherman. The room is comfy and spacious and the stuff it’s very polite and friendly.

It is a little bit far from the Trincomalee life and facilities, if you don’t have a scooter, a tuktuk or a driver, it’s hard to do much. The stuff it’s very nice and polite but very slow, so take you time and chill..
