Hotel River Front

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel River Front in Yala! From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the lovely pool was a real bonus and the perfect place to relax. The receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know about the hotel. Gayan, our waiter, was also fantastic. He was so friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our meals and provided such a great service. The highlight of our stay was definitely the full-day safari we booked through the hotel. Despite the very early start, it was an unforgettable experience! Our driver and guide, Channa, was absolutely brilliant. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative and clearly knew Yala very well. Thanks to Channa, we were lucky enough to see a leopard, a family of elephants and so much other amazing wildlife at surprisingly close range. There were plenty of other jeeps around competing for the best views, but Channa always seemed to know exactly where to position us. He was incredibly patient and made sure we had fantastic views while also helping us capture some amazing photos and videos that we will treasure. Channa genuinely went above and beyond to make our safari special, and we would highly recommend going on safari with him. He made what was already an exciting experience truly unforgettable. We would happily stay at Hotel River Front again and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Yala. A wonderful hotel, lovely staff and an absolutely fantastic safari experience!

Staff is amazing, especially the gentleman in the restaurant. As well as the driver Channa from our safari, he also makes sure you are first in line for the morning safari. The room and bathroom are beautiful.

One little thing is that the bed was a little bit to hard for our liking.

The staff started cleaning the outside windows of our room at 8am when we were sill sleeping which was interesting.

Es un buen hotel, de tamaño y prestaciones medianas. Sin ascensor, muy limpio, y con habitaciones de tamaño satisfactorio. La piscina está impecable, y por la noche iluminan el espacio con una llamativas bombillas de colores. El desayuno es el habitual en la zona para la categoría de hotel, selección de frutas y tortilla a escoger. La mayoría del personal es muy amable, con especial mención del Sr. Crayan.

Sin embargo, perdimos una llave de plástico de acceso a la habitación y nos cobraron un precio abusivo por su reposición. Lo pagamos sin discutirlo porque fue nuestro descuido, pero manifiestamente se aprovecharon de la situación. Estos detalles arruinan toda la experiencia. Francamente, muy mal.

Fantástico alojamiento, con todas las comodidades y buena zona de restaurante y piscina. Bonito y muy limpio.

Quizá su ubicación que no tenía mucha opción de cena fuera del hotel, por eso es buena opción cenar allí. Mi pareja y yo sólo estuvimos una noche pero nos habríamos quedado más!

Erg mooi hotel met een fijn zwembad, een kleine gym en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Het eten in het restaurant was ook uitstekend.

We hadden wat rode mieren in onze slaapkamer. Bij de kinderen op de kamer niet. Personeel probeerde wel alles om er vanaf te komen.

Hotel familiar súper limpio y cómodo. Ofrece buenos safaris a Yala N.P.. Trato personalizado muy atento. Tiene restaurante con comida de calidad y rica. La piscina excelente. Lo recomiendo estuvimos 2 noches.

Quizás la ubicación no sea la más céntrica pero como te van a buscar para el safari vale perfecto

Es muy nuevo. Precioso por dentro, el baño parecia de lujo. Habitación super comoda. Hicimos el safari con Channa y es un gran profesional. Se esforzó por ver leopardos y conseguimos ver uno. Tienen restaurante y esta muy bueno.

Tutto perfetto, la famiglia che gestisce questa struttura è meravigliosa. La struttura è bellissima e pulita. Anche dopo un catastrofico Safari senza aver visto nessuno degli animali che avremmo voluto vedere, siamo stati accolti e coccolati. Complimenti ancora

La habitación es muy bonita con un baño grande y todo super limpio. La piscina del hotel esta genial para poder relajarse. El hotel en sí es muy bonito y las personas que trabajan allí son super amables y te ayudan con todo. Cenamos allí y muy rico todo recomiendo probar la sopa de lentejas! Mención especial a Shara. Gracias por todo.

The property is beautiful, we had a beautiful room, the swimming pool is great. Staff are lovely, very helpful, they helped organise our safari tour and it was a great day out. But what is absolutely amazing is their chef! We had the best food ever at this resort, we love Sri Lankan food, but here we felt at a top restaurant. We recommend the sesame tuna, a Michelin star dish!

Ganz neues, modernes Hotel in ruhiger Lage mit sehr schönen Zimmern, gutem Frühstück und einem tollen Pool. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die direkt über das Hotel gebuchte Yala-Safari war perfekt organisiert – wir hatten einen großartigen Fahrer und einen rundum gelungenen Tag im Nationalpark. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir haben uns in diesem familiengeführten Hotel von der ersten Minute an rundum wohlgefühlt. Es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Alle waren unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und zuvorkommend. Schon bei der Ankunft wurde uns sofort das Gepäck abgenommen und wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Der Pool ist wirklich toll – besonders unsere Kinder waren begeistert und konnten gar nicht genug davon bekommen. Auch das Essen im Hotel war ausgesprochen lecker und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein besonderes Highlight war die vom Hotel organisierte Safari-Tour in den Yala-Nationalpark. Unser Fahrer Channa war einfach der Beste! Er war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hat uns einen unvergesslichen Tag ermöglicht. Wir haben unglaublich viele Tiere gesehen und dabei wunderschöne Eindrücke gesammelt. Alles in allem können wir dieses Hotel absolut empfehlen. Die herzliche Atmosphäre, der tolle Service und die familiäre Gastfreundschaft haben unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Perfecte hotel voor onze safari in Yala. Het hotel regelde de excursie perfect tegen een schappelijke prijs. De andere momenten genoten we van het mooie zwembad, het lekkere eten en het zicht op de dieren (apen, vogels, ...) die we uit de tuin van het hotel konden zien.

Fin dall’arrivo siamo stati accolti davvero positivamente da tutto lo staff. La stanza molto bella e pulita, nonostante la struttura sia accanto al fiume, non abbiamo trovato alcun insetto. La piscina bella e confortevole. Per la cena c’è un’ampia scelta di piatti.

La struttura migliore dove abbiamo soggiornato durante la nostra vacanza. Abbiamo cenato lì e il cibo era buono, la camera meravigliosa, ampia e pulita. I ragazzi dello staff sono molto gentili e cordiali, soprattutto Sasha la ragazza in reception e il ragazzo che sta in sala pranzo, entrambi bravissimi. Prezzo un po’ sopra la media ma ci sta vista la qualità della struttura

Personal molt acollidor i amable. Habitació molt amplia i neta. Té nevera, aire acondicionat i ventilador. Lavabo gran i net. Té zona de piscina i gimnàs, si està super be. Amb ells pots gestionar el safari a Yala, va ser un gran safari!! Tenen restaurant també amb opcions diverses de menjar. L’esmorzar està inclòs i és molt complet. Un 10

Um hotel excelente para quem quiser ir fazer um safari em yala, em que o próprio hotel ajuda em toda a organização. Tem uma excelente piscina, o restaurante também serve comida fantástica e os quartos são muito limpos e cómodos. De destacar também que toda a equipa é super simpática e muito prestável.

Brilliant hotel and the staff are amazing. This accommodation is very close to going to Yala National Park and they organised an amazing safari for us.

Nos ayudaron con un problema que tuvimos con una maleta extraviada y nos facilitaron el check out para que pudiésemos hacer el safari y luego nos permitieron recoger nuestro equipaje. El hotel es precioso, la zona de la piscina, el restaurante y el hall. Sara un encanto, nos atendió muy bien y nos ayudó a organizar el safari a Yala. Nos dejó hacer el check out media hora más tarde para poder alistar la habitación, ya que el safari terminaba más tarde que el check out y nos dieron facilidades. Cenamos y comimos en el restaurante y la comida estaba buena. Precios europeos.

La habitación estaba genial, a pesar de no ser la reservada previamente; quizá era superior incluso pero tuvimos un problema con la ducha tras cenar en el hotel, ya que no salía agua caliente y el personal que había DE NOCHE no nos ayudó como esperábamos ya que empezó a hacerse muy tarde y nos decían que esperáramos y a las 4 am nos levantamos para el safari. Finalmente nos dimos cuenta de que a las 00h empezaba a salir templada el agua porque comprobábamos constantemente si salía caliente, ya que nadie nos avisó. Dormimos menos de 4h.

Fantastic stay! We only wish we could stay longer than one night! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Great slow life atmosphere during dinner. The room and bathroom was elegant specious and very clean. We truly recommend this hotel and would happily return!

Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Es war SEHR sauber und das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hat einem immer bei Fragen geholfen. Ich kann jedem empfehlen die Safari über das Hotel zu buchen.

We absolutely loved our stay at River Front Hotel, and it was definitely one of our favourite hotels from our trip. We sadly only got to stay for one night, but we would have loved to stay much longer! From the moment we arrived, all of the staff were excellent and so welcoming. A special mention to the lovely lady at reception, who is the owner’s daughter, and the waiter who looked after us so well during our stay. They were both incredibly friendly and attentive and made us feel so welcome. The pool area was fantastic and the entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well looked after. Our room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. We also ate in the hotel and really enjoyed our food. Everything was delicious and it was so convenient to have such a lovely restaurant on site. We also booked our Yala safari directly through the hotel and couldn’t have been happier with it. Everything was organised perfectly and it made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. We genuinely couldn’t recommend River Front Hotel enough, especially if you are visiting Yala. We only wish we had stayed longer!

We booked this hotel for one night only, to serve as a stopover during our drive from Colombo to Arugambay. When we arrived we were told that we got upgraded to a room with a balcony. The hotel was located away from the main road, in a quiet area. The breakfast was included and it was a prefixed serving of pancakes, fresh fruit, coffee or tea and eggs with toast. The gym was very small, but it's a bonus since I didn't even count on having one. There was a pool which was definitely a must especially in this heat.

The room door unfortunately has this design at the top and it lets all of the morning light in. I imagine most local people wake up and start the days with the sun but it's not something you'd like while on vacation. Because the hotel is so remote there aren't many restaurants nearby so all of your meals are destined to be at the hotel.

Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend......das Team ist den ganzen Tag unterwegs und reinigt die kleinsten Ecken...die safari ist schon auch interessant...wobei viele Fahrzeuge um die besten Plätze kämpfen...das safari Team ist aber sehr routiniert und gut vernetzt.. Das Essen ist sehr gut und empfehlenswert, wobei die Preise etwas höher liegen..

🤷‍♂️ ...wobei der wäscheservice etwas teuer ist..

Lekker zwembad en goede locatie om Yala te bezoeken

Mooiste en schoonste hotel in deze prijsklasse tot nu toe. Goede douche, mooi zwembad. De kinderen vonden de milkshakes super lekker. Wij hebben vanuit het hotel een safari gedaan met Channa. Dit was echt geweldig. Hij racete om vooraan in de rij te kunnen staan zodat we als eerste het park in konden. Ook in het park ging hij er vol voor en met resultaat, al na 40 minuten hadden we een luipaard gezien. Echt te gek. Daarnaast ook alle dieren die we wilden gezien. Het racen vinden wij juist ook heel leuk en voelde heel veilig. Bedankt Channa! Het personeel is super aardig. Het eten lekker!

Niets, maar realiseer je dat er niets in de directe omgeving is. Dus als je geen eigen vervoer hebt, ben je net als wij aangewezen op eten in het hotel. Wij vonden dat geen enkel probleem en hebben lekker gegeten tegen schappelijke prijzen. Enige jammer is dat ze meer vragen voor betalen met kaart. Dat zou bij deze bedragen niet nodig moeten zijn. Werd wel duidelijk gecommuniceerd vooraf.

Prachtig kleinschalig hotel. Mooie kamers. Heerlijk zwembad. Vriendelijk personeel. Ideaal voor combinatie met bezoek aan nationaal park Yala.

We hebben enorm genoten! Kamers waren prima op orde met een fijne badkamer. Personeel was super vriendelijk en het eten was lekker. Ook het zwembad was zalig om af te koelen na de safari.

Wij vonden de bedden erg hard.. maar dat is smaal natuurlijk.

Een geweldige plek!! Wij reizen al enige tijd door Srilanka maar dit was echt een van de betere! Echt een aanrader!

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Nice staff and we want to come back to this hotel in the future.

Such lovely, caring and efficient staff particularly Sami who was bar man, waiter and go to for most things. The lady at reception was welcoming and polite and the two boys who carried the bags were very friendly and genuine. This boutique hotel is in a quiet riverside location about 35 minute car journey to Yala national park. The food was very good and wide choice with specialities of the week. We just stayed one night so didn’t have chance to use the pool or gym but everything was well maintained and clean. The decor is brightly coloured giving a vibrant feeling to the place. Exceptionally good value for money.

Je krijgt er een warme welkom door de gastvrouw en haar team. Het is een perfect evenwicht tussen professioneel en hartelijk. Handdoeken aan het zwembad, cocktailbar,…alles perfect. Ze geef ook advies over leuke activiteiten die je kan doen en dat is zeker niet alleen een safari! Een echt aanrader.
