Het ziet er allemaal fantastisch uit. Wij hadden een grote kamer op de BG. Luxe uitgevoerd, goede koffie en thee voorziening, fijne bedden, fijne douche. Locatie midden in centrum en toch niet gehorig.

The only negative thing about our stay is that the the whole town is closed on a Monday including bars and restaurants. Lovely town and well worth a visit.

The hotel is in the centre of alphen and is beautifully decorated with a garden at the rear for you to sit or and relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming and my room was really lovely. Room 11 was on the top floor (climbing two flights of stairs, which were a little dubious) and was an attic style room. All white washed paint with a large bed, modern bathroom with large shower and TV, coffee machine and they provided a fan to use when it was warm. A lovely stay and I would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of staying in Alphen ann den Rijn.

The only thing I would say is that there was no late check out option and on the day of my departure, there was no where to wait in the hotel to grab a drink whilst I waited to be collected for my trip home. The hotel was 'closed' and therfore i had to wait in the garden.

Eigenlijk niets. Alleen veel trappen oplopen. We zaten op de bovenste verdieping. Maar het personeel was zo aardig onze koffers te dragen.

The doors are not really sound proof so sometimes i could hear people passing by during the day but in the night it was quiet as the rest of the guests were respectful.

Zeer gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel, het geweldige kingsize bed, het uitgebreide ontbijt en de sfeer van het restaurant en het gehele pand, de badkamer met bad en aparte douche en de ligging op korte loopafstand van het centrum.

Heet water uit een koffiezetapparaat staat ons niet aan dus een mini-waterkoker op de kamer hadden we op prijs gesteld, juist ook omdat de keuze van de thee reuze was.

The room was light and airy with a lovely terrace. it was also convenient for parkrun.

Liebevoll eingerichtetes, sauberes und schönes Haus, großzügige Zimmer, komfortables Bad, zentral gelegen, sehr nettes Personal. Hier konnte man auch mal tolle Tipps und Empfehlungen bekommenl. Das Frühstück war prima. Umliegende Restaurants sind schnell erreichbar. Das Hotel hat auch ein eigenes, schönes Restaurant.

Das Gebäude ist etwas hellhörig, auch wenn es sich in überwiegend ruhiger Lage befindet. Es gibt hinter dem Gebäude einen öffentlichen Parkplatz, der von 9:00 bis 18:00 Uhr nicht wenig Geld kostet aber wir waren meistens mit dem Auto unterwegs. Ca. 400m südöstlich kann man gratis parken.

Excellent location, close to train station and shopping and center of town but still very quiet. Easy day trip transport links to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden, others. Beautiful building with lots of charm and very very clean. Friendly and professional staff. Large room with covered outdoor balcony area. Very comfortable bed. Nice bedside tables and reading lamps. Good outlets. Good Wi-Fi. Ample closet space with plenty of clothes hangers. Delicious and ample breakfast. On site restaurant with outdoor seating was wonderful for sunny days. The food in the restaurant was very good, and it is clearly a popular place with locals. Interior was cozy on rainy days but we actually had a two week stretch of no rain. Coffee and tea machine in room. Charming decor. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. They gave us a secure location to put the bikes that we rented during our stay. Lots of tv channels including BBC NL in English. Other guests we encountered were all very quiet and polite.

Other reviews have noted steep stairs. This is true, however, they did take our bags up for us, and it is a historic building, so there is nothing to be done about steep stairs. It is part of the charm. They do have ground floor rooms, and good hand railings.

Staff was very friendly, rooms were quite nice, there was parking nearby, and the breakfast was exceptional.

The breakfast is served at the table without many questions, maybe some waste could be avoided by allowing guests to choose what they wanted.

Het gebouw is een prachtig oud pand in de binnenstad van Alpen met een parkeerplaats achter de herberg. En de badkamer was heerlijk ruim en heel netjes.

Das entspannte und freundliche Personal bereitet einem einen herzlichen Empfang. Die Zimmer sind groß und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Bad mit der großen ebenerdigen Dusche erfüllt alle Wünsche. Das liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück hat optisch und inhaltlich viel zu bieten. Das im Haus befindliche Restaurant ist nur zu empfehlen.

Um zu den Zimmern im zweiten Stock zu gelangen, sind zwei sehr steile Treppen zu bewältigen. Für ältere oder gangunsichere Personen ist das mindestens eine Herausforderung. Hier empfiehlt sich im Vorfeld eine persönliche Absprache,

De Stadsherberg in Alphen a/d Rijn is een pareltje in het centrum. Het is een totaalervaring als je ook naast het logeren gebruik maakt van het ontbijt en het restaurant. Ze hebben een goed samenwerkend team, wat ontbijt, lunch en diner op een professionele, maar toch gemoedelijke wijze verzorgt. Het restaurant en de kamers zijn sfeervol ingericht met oude en nieuwe spullen smaakvol gecombineerd. En de bedden, die moeten apart genoemd worden, die zijn namelijk FANTASTISCH

Wat misschien wat aandacht verdient, is de kou of tocht die van de ramen komt bijv. langs de banken in het restaurant. Het is logisch dat dit ontstaat bij een wat ouder pand, maar is wellicht te verhelpen.

Central location. French style ‘courtyard hotel’ feel; nice styling. City centre easily accessible; great beer on tap. Great coffee. High ceilings - at least in the family room. Would recommend!

No fridge in the room. No safe/locker. Saying that the staff/owners were very helpful in us using the fridge in the restaurant kitchen with our stuff labelled.

De locatie is heel goed, en de kamer was mooi. Modern ingericht, ruimtelijk. Mijn dochter vond het stapelbed fantastisch.

Door een miscommunicatie stond ik om 21.30 met mijn 6-jarige dochter voor een dichte deur, in de vrieskou, na een lange reis vanuit Frankrijk. Personeel was vriendelijk en handelde adequaat, na een halfuurtje konden we naar binnen, maar toch drukt het een stempel. Het gevolg was namelijk een ijskoude kamer, het was duidelijk dat ze ons totaal niet geboekt hadden. Ondanks dat het personeel allemaal echt vriendelijk was, vond ik het heel jammer dat er niet eens een kopje koffie als sorry vanaf kon. We werden letterlijk onze kamer gewezen en dat was dat. Met geen woord over gerept bij uitchecken de volgende dag, terwijl het voor ons toch echt een hele vervelende ontvangst is geweest. Met goede service, in ieder geval benoemen hoe vervelend het was, had dit echt rechtgebreid kunnen worden. Een gemiste kans van echte gastvrijheid.

This was our third stay at this hotel and we will definitely come back again. The room was big and comfortable, the staff were very kind, and the small charming town has everything close by, including easy access to the sea.
