Big thanks to the staff again, they are more than friendly, professional and helpful! The building is with history but the room was spacious and well equipped with a kettle, room temperature water, which is better than providing bottled water. The meals were all IMPRESSIVE indeed! Large portions and surprisingly good!

Staffs are so nice and helpful !! breakfast was nice variety and it was really delicious. Rooms are huge & open air bath is superb. Bigger smart TV and a lil bit luxurious sofa is missing. overall we had very wonderful birthday stay!

夜に虫が部屋の中に入ってきたのが少し気になりました。また、立地はやや不便で、少しアクセスしづらいと感じました。

Wunderschöne Lage. Gegen einen kleinen Aufpreis konnten wir das grösste Zimmer beziehen mit riesiger Terrasse mit Meerblick. Das Frühstück ist unübertroffen. Die Leute äusserst freundlich. Alles sehr sauber.

Beautiful room, above and beyond service. I asked the front desk about a cab and there was one at the front door within 5 minutes. The room is stellar, the private onsen is hot and perfect alongside the ocean waves. But the breakfast was really next level. The food was impeccable, fresh fish, tamagoyaki, fresh blended/squeezed juice, salad, and a dashi chazuke with a fish bone dashi? Be still my japanese food heart. Seriously excellent and once again incredible service. Nothing but good things to say.

I really enjoyed the hotel. We booked last minute and saw there was a room. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

スタッフの対応がとても丁寧で、ホテルに入った瞬間から心地よかったです。お部屋は大浴場の隣でしたが、ホテル唯一の和室はとても綺麗で、半露天風呂も景色は松の木でしたが、その松にリスがいて、松の木の向こうは海で豊かな自然を感じながら入浴できました。今回は朝食付きの一泊でした。その朝食が和食でとても美味しく、美しい盛り付けに幸せを感じました。朝から三種のお造りにタラの西京焼き、金目鯛のだし茶漬け、炊合せ、フルーツとナッツが入ったヨーグルト、最後は素敵なカップに注がれたコーヒーでした。五感が満足するリゾートホテルです。

Die Dusche war neben dem Onsen auf der Terrasse und somit von Strasse einsehbar.

スタッフの皆さん対応がすばらしい。 部屋の露天風呂も気持ちが良くて清潔、景色も良い。 朝食も野菜、魚中心で私達の年代にはちょうど良い。 また、宿泊したいと思います

The staff was incredibly helpful - arranging a last minute dinner arrangement which was exceptional. The location is proximal to all the nature pursuits one might want: walks, diving, for instance. Breakfast was superb but could have started a little earlier. ISANA punches above its weight!

Here's your review in English: The hotel left us with wonderful impressions — it's small, family-friendly and cozy, with a pleasant walk along the scenic coastline. The natural spring water is available both in the general onsen and in the room, and the service is very nice. The balcony and the sea view are stunning! Breakfast is Japanese, in a fine dining style. However, my husband and son find Japanese cuisine difficult to enjoy, especially in the morning — and the staff kindly offered a European alternative. Excellent coffee!

Helpful friendly staff. Hot spring water in the room tub. The ability to book the large bath for free. The free drinks in the room. The awesome breakfast. The dinner was the best meal we had while in Japan and is was a great deal.

The door swings in the room which makes switching sandals difficult for multiple people at once

Isana was amazing! Very authentic traditional Japanese and away from the hectic nature of the cities. The staff were the best that I have ever experienced and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. The gave us local recommendations, dropped up at the train station and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. 10/10 overall!!!

The location is perfect if you’re looking to be almost off grid. The only down side for us is that there are no convenience stores within walking distance.

Nous avons passé un moment merveilleux dans l'établissement! On a déposé nos valises en avance, de suite on nous a proposé de nous emmener sur le lieu de visite que nous avions prévu et offert une bouteille d'eau car il faisait chaud. Malgré ma maladresse pour réserver le dinner 24h en avance, ils ont réussi à nous proposer une place, c'était très très bon et raffiné, et il en va de même pour le petit déjeuner qui était excellent lui aussi, le tout avec une vue sur la mer! Le personnel est d'une gentillesse dingue, on se sentait comme à la maison! Le Onsen de l'hotel se privatise sur des créneaux, il est super, et nous avions aussi un onsen privé dans la chambre qui était tout aussi agréable. Nous recommandons cet établissement sans hésitation!

Nice location just off the port (convenient for scuba diving with a club next door), comfortable room. Very very good breakfast.

The multiple dolphin paintings and the overall decoration but I guess that's a matter of taste...

Great views

Our room had a great view of the ocean with an outdoor tub which easily fit two plus sized adults. The bed and room was extremely large. Our stay was perfect for relaxing. The private hot spring was amazing. We had breakfast there, and it was perfect. I feel blessed to have found this gem. The staff also spoke English and were super kind.

the taste of dinner and breakfast are so excellent and delicious. Also, the staffs is good in English communication. I recommend this Hotel for the visitor who would like to earn Local experience

Het ontbijt was heerlijk! Japans uitvoerig heerlijk ontbijt! We gaan nog eens terug. Zijn nog altijd onder de indruk.

Hide and his family provide a wonderful retreat next to the sea with beautiful hot spring fed tubs overlooking the ocean. The breakfast and dinners were delicious, nice combination of western and Japanese. Truly a treat

Such an amazing stay here for 2 nights. We were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival, check in process was prompt and efficient. All staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was very spacious and came with a little private outdoor onsen. There was also an option to reserve the larger onsen for 40 minutes each day for free, which we took advantage of. It was an amazing and intimate experience there with my partner. We are both vegetarians, they could not accommodate our dietary requirements for dinner but the chefs specially made vegetarian breakfast meals for us at no extra charge. Breakfast was amazing on both days! Also strategically located, within minutes to popular attractions like Jogasaki Coast and Izu Shaboten zoo.

Not much at all! Only minor gripe is there wasn't much privacy from the little private outdoor onsen as we got the corner room and you could see cars passing by from where the outdoor bathroom was. But you could just pull down the blind if you're concerned.

We had a truly beautiful and memorable 3-night stay at Isana Resort in Ito. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The staff were incredibly kind, always smiling, attentive, and thoughtful. It’s the small details that really made the difference—they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and felt at home. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole experience seamless and relaxing. Our room was stunning—very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. We stayed in a modern tatami room and absolutely loved it. The open-air baths were spotless and offered a beautiful view; we enjoyed them every single day. We also loved being able to choose our own Japanese clothing at the start of our stay and wear it during meals—it added such a special and immersive touch. The homemade cookies, tea, and orange juice were a delightful surprise and absolutely delicious. A special mention to the chef—the food was exceptional. Both breakfast and dinner were beyond delicious, truly a highlight of our stay. Overall, this was an incredible experience. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff for making our stay so special. We would absolutely recommend Isana Resort and would love to return one day.

The staff were so friendly and warm. Everything was very well thought out in terms of amenities, and the daily breakfast was so good! The private in-room onsen was very convenient too.

The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The Keiseki dinner was outstanding. Beautiful place and comfortable stay.

Staff were amazing! Friendly and helpful at all times. They definitely upheld the standard of a traditional Japanese ryokan. Food was great, both breakfast and dinner, truly enjoyed my meals. The room was spacious with an incredible view. Definitely enjoyed the onsen as well mini-bar that was provided.

Bed was a little hard but to each his own. Definitely a situation with mozzies in the area of Izu but nothing much to complain about since you are on a road trip afterall. Insect sprays and repellents are readily available.

We had a lovely and delicious dinner. Dinner at Isana is an event and took around two hours to complete all of the courses. Everything was flavorful and beautifully executed. We wore traditional robes that were provided for dinner and breakfast.

Nothing negative. Not for those who want to be in urban location. There are advantages to having a car here but staff were incredibly helpful in getting us to local train. We walked and primarily used taxi, train, and buses to see wider area.

今までで最悪の温泉ホテル体験でした。部屋に手のひらサイズのクモが出現し、1時間以上スタッフが来ず、警察に行って事情を説明しました。深夜3時過ぎにやっとスタッフが来たものの、「殺虫剤で自分で退治して」と言われただけ。謝罪も部屋の変更もなく、「山や海が近いから普通」と言い訳ばかり。高額料金に対して衛生もサービスも最低レベル。二度と泊まりません。 One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. A spider as big as my hand appeared in the room. No staff responded for over an hour—we even had to go to the police station. Staff finally showed up after 3 AM and told us to kill it ourselves with insect spray. No apology, no room change, just excuses like “it’s normal because of the mountains and sea.” Terrible service for such an expensive hotel. Not clean, not safe, never again. 这是我住过最糟糕的一家温泉酒店。房间里出现了手掌大的蜘蛛，找工作人员一个多小时没人，最后去警察局备案。凌晨三点多才有人来，却只说“自己用杀虫剂杀掉”，没有道歉、没有换房，还说“附近有山有海，这很正常”。服务态度冷漠，退房时也没人帮忙或送我们。价格高、卫生差、不安全，绝不会再来。

The meals were amazing and the staff were fantastic. Very quiet area, but you won’t want to leave the resort anyway!
