Mangrove Beach Chalets

Un petit coin de paradis ! L’emplacement est absolument sublime, les pieds dans le sable et face à l’océan. L’accueil est adorable et l’ambiance très chaleureuse. Gros coup de cœur pour le bar-restaurant directement sur la plage : nous y avons très bien mangé, et prendre son petit-déjeuner face à l’océan est juste magique. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié les canoës mis gratuitement à disposition pour partir explorer la lagune : une super attention et un très beau moment ! Nous n’y sommes restés qu’une nuit et notre seul regret est de ne pas être restés plus longtemps. Une adresse que nous recommandons vraiment ! ❤️

Emplacement exceptionnel, dépaysement total

Je wordt wakker op het strand. Het restaurant heeft een geweldig zicht op de zee. Er is heel veel ruime tussen de kamers waardoor het heel luxe aanvoelt

Het was allemaal heel schoon, maar toch zijn we een kakkerlak tegen gekomen in de badkamer. De muur van de badkamer reikt niet tot het plafond waardoor je in de hele kamer ook het toilet goed kunt horen. Ten slotte was er een moment een probleem met het doorspoelen van het toilet. Dat is door het personeel snel opgelost.

Es war wunderschön hier. Super Ort um einfach mal zu entspannen. Die Chalets sind sehr geräumig so dass wir zu 4 keinerlei Platzprobleme hatten. Das Frühstück, man kann wählen zwischen Sri Lankisch und Englisch, war beides sehr lecker. Im Restaurant gibt es sehr gutes Essen. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Hier werde ich sollten wir mal wieder in der Gegend sein definitiv nochmals übernachten. Vielen Dank für alles.

Très jolis chalets sur la plage. Personnel vraiment adorable, très serviable et professionnel. Mention spéciale pour Miss Uvini qui nous a parfaitement accueillis lord de arrivée et nous a assisté pour le départ. Mr Chalal et son équipe au bar sont également très sympathiques et attentionnés. Délicieux cocktails. Très belle plage.

La wifi était très faible dans notre chalet mais Miss Uvini nous a expliqué que cet inconvénient allait être réglé sous peu.

La localisation intime sur la mer, le kayak sur la mangrove, la sympathie du personnel...

Quel merveilleux site et quel merveilleux séjour !!! je pense me souvenir très longtemps de notre arrivée sur cette plage paradisiaque / le logement est incroyable : très confortable, la clim fonctionne parfaitement, les lits son confortables, la décoration est très jolie... / Le personnel est d'une extrême gentillesse et très professionnel/ le lieu et la vue sont incroyables / la plage est sublime et nous avons pu apprécier chaque jour une baignage / le restaurant est juste parfait avec la vue sur l'Océan / des kayaks sont à notre disposition pour faire un tour dans la mangrove/ merci à RAVINDU pour sa gentillesse et professsionnalisme

Dit was onze favoriet van de hele rondreis! Heerlijke huisjes direct aan het strand. Er zijn er maar 9, dus het voelt ook niet als een resort! Het restaurant is ook heel fijn en het personeel helpt je met alle vragen!

Het ligt ver van alles af, dus hou daar rekening mee!

Superbe adresse que je recommande sur Tangalle . Cet hôtel offre un spot splendide . La plage de l hôtel est exceptionnelle et vous apporte un dépaysement total . Nous avons logé dans un chalet quadruple avec vue sur la plage et l océan . Nous étions seuls au monde . le jardin de l hôtel est également magnifique avec tous ses cocaïers . Petite cerise sur le gâteau vous traversé la mangrove avant d'arriver sur la plage . des kayaks sont a disposition des clients gratuitement pour faire une petite balade dans la mangrove qui entoure l hôtel . Enfin autre point fort de cet établissement est la possibilité de se baigner devant le bar de l hôtel en toute sécurité grâce a sa picidé naturelle .

Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, good value and exceptional service, particularly from the team at the beach bar. Doesn’t pretend to be 5-star in facilities but 5-star service. Would definitely recommend.

This place was wonderful. And I am normally quite critical. It was beautiful in nature, peaceful and calm, friendly people, large rooms, comfortable bed and absolutely delicious food - all for a reasonable price. I can only highly recommend.

Honestly nothing. Well, there was no airco. But all windows could open (with anti musquito planes) and the sea breeze was perfect. The sounds so soothing to sleep. And don’t expect to swim - though playing around in knee-deep water is possible due to the protection of some rocks in front of the hotel.

Mooi resort. Onze chalet was gelegen op het strand, vlakbij de mangrove, waar we gratis konden kajakken. Heel mooi restaurant, eten, drankjes en ontbijt was heel lekker. Door een golfbreker vlak voor het resort konden de kids hier toch in zee. Een aanrader!

Direkt am Meer, tolle weitläufige Anlage, sehr große Zimmer, sehr schönes Restaurant direkt am Strand mit sehr leckerem Essen.

De prachtige plek. Het is een klein paradijsje met een prachtige, weliswaar, ruige zee. Het lieve personeel, het heerlijke eten. Gewoon de goede vibe die er was.

Echt een paradijsje. Rustig gelegen, heel toffe huisjes en ontzettend vriendelijk personeel. Fijn dat je kan zwemmen in de zee door de natuurlijke barrière die ervoor zorgen dat de golven minder sterk zijn. Het eten is ook heel lekker en eerlijk van prijs.

Tolle Lage. Wunderbarer Strand, Einschlafen mit Meeresrauschen, schönes Restaurant direkt am Strand. Sehr freundliches Personal. Schön auch, dass man mit einem Kajak in die Mangrovenkamäle fahren kann, um Vögel. Affen und Warane zu sehen. Strömung und Wellen sind stark, aber es gibt einen geschützten Bereich direkt am Hotel.

Wat een prachtige plek, echt een paradijs! Via een houten loopbrug kom je aan bij het strand met de chalets. Je hebt het gevoel dat het strand voor jou alleen is. De barman van het restaurant is zo lief en behulpzaam. Echt een aanrader deze plek. Wij zijn een gezin met twee kids van 16 en 14 jaar. Dacht dat ze het saai zouden vinden maar ze vonden het geweldig.

Obiekt jest przepiękny, domek jest położony nad samym oceanem w pięknym gaju palmowym. Obsługa hotelu przemiła i pomocna, jedzenie w restauracji pyszne. Dodatkową atrakcją były kokosy, które można było zbierać na terenie ośrodka. Po prostu raj na ziemi!

Zeer mooie omgeving, privé strand. Echt paradijselijk. Supervriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Gratis kajakken naar de Mangrove. Lekker en betaalbaar eten. Lekker ontbijt.

Prachtige huisjes aan het strand. De bar aan het strand is top. Heerlijk eten. ‘s morgens hadden ze vis gevangen en vroegen of wij als lunch en/of diner vis wilden eten. Onbijt goed. heerlijke ligbedden. Top personeel. Dit is echt een aanrader en voor herhaling vatbaar!

Een waar paradijs! Schoon comfortabel huisje met het prachtige langgerekte strand voor de deur en de mangrove in de achtertuin. Aan het strand een sfeervol restaurant waar ze met veel plezier heerlijke drankjes en maaltijden voor je bereiden. Echt heel goed gegeten daar! Het vriendelijke personeel staat altijd voor je klaar. Ook een goede wasservice. Kortom top! Echt een prachtige plek.

Niets! Een koelkastje op de kamer zou nog een plus kunnen zijn.

Endroit paradisiaque sur une plage vierge d’une beauté renversante. Cerise sur le gâteau : il est possible de se baigner juste devant l’hôtel grâce à une barrière naturelle qui atténue le courant. L’hôtel et son bar/restaurant de plage sont très joliment aménagés. Si nous avons un peu souffert de la chaleur dans notre chambre, nous gardons quand même un souvenir magnifique des quelques jours passés dans ce charmant hôtel. Je recommande sans hésiter!

Absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to be back. Very comfortable beds, beautiful grounds, and we loved the restaurant and cocktails.

Dit is echt een prachtige plek, we waanden ons in het paradijs. Gelegen op een mooi, rustig strand waar je kan zwemmen. Huisjes zijn heel mooi en modern ingericht. Erg vriendelijk personeel aan de bar. Gratis kajaks ter beschikking voor gasten, ook heel leuk!

Helemaal niets, voor ons het allerfijnste verblijf in Sri Lanka.

Paradise! Superb location, especially with the restaurant. Breakfast and diner on the beach! Perfect hide away for 2 days :) we travelled with 2 small kids 5 and 7

The entrance is bit "Sri lankan style" But I believe they are improving the bridge you have to cross when entering. Now it lacked a railing which is not ideal with little kids running around.

Absolutely beautiful location right on the beach front!

We unfortunately saw a few rats around the bar/restaurant area at dinner time. The chalet could also do with A/C, the fan was trying its best!

Wonderful beach chalet on a beautiful, vast beach away from the crowds further down the coast. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and offered everything we needed. The beach bar-restaurant was a stunning location to enjoy a very good breakfast and evening drink and meal. The staff were great, very helpful in informing us of things to do locally such as seeing the turtles further down the beach. We would certainly stay here again.

Wunderschöner Strand, war traumhaft, Zimmer sehr grosd und top sauber. Das wurde und von Freunden empfohlen und ich würde das auch jederzeit empfehlen oder auch wieder hin gehen

De locatie, je kunt aan in de avond met een locale gids op zoek naar de schildpadden. Ook in de Beach bar kun je lekker liggen en prima eten. Huisjes ogen als echte Beach huisjes. Je kunt gebruik maken van de gratis kano om de mangrove in te gaan

De bedden waren echt dramatisch. Een matrasje van vijf cm op een betonnen ondergrond is gewoon niet ok. Geen koelkastje, geen waterkokertje en zeer slechte tot geen wifi in je huisje enkel bij de bar.

The balcony views from our chalet were amazing, so peaceful and calming. The restaurant and team were always kinds, making delicious food with large portions. The beach was clean and quiet, and able to swim or lounge in the sea before the rocks.

Perhaps the best beachside location I have ever stayed at. Such a beautiful setting with the little chalets set back from water, a nice rustic beach restaurant and a safe place to swim. The one bedroom superior rooms are exceptional, super clean and tidy and quite large - the sunbeds at the front are nice for an afternoon relax. The food and cocktails at the beachside restaurant are next level, along with the sunsets views down Tangalle Beach. Uvini and the reception and staff are super friendly and the restaurant staff lead by Chamal are an absolute great bunch, always attentive and looking after all your needs. What a gem!!!

Paradise. Beachfront chalets, fabulous bar on site and walking distance from more amazing eateries on the very quiet beaches. Safe swimming spot protected by rocks out front. We loved our two nights here!

De rust, de luxe villa met koelkastje en airco. De ontzettend aardige mensen die daar werkten met name Angelika

Ontbijt was goed maar als je meerdere dagen verblijft wel eentonig. Verlichting bij de villa en naar het restaurant mag wel wat meer zijn

Mangrove Beach Chalets is a lovely calm beachside oasis to relax in. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here. Breakfast was very nice and all the staff do a fabulous job. A special mention to Uvini at reception. She is a delight to deal with & has a fantastic personality.

Es ist einfach traumhaft, noch besser als auf den Fotos! Die Bungalows sind in einem Palmenwald am Strand, tolle durchdachte Bauweise, ruhig und kühl. Die Strandbar ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt, dort gibt es eine grosse Auswahl an Getränken und Essen, die Qualität und das Service sind top. Alle Mitarbeiter sind aufmerksam und freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir haben es sehr genossen und werden sicher wiederkommen!

Lokalizacja, to że domki są praktycznie na plaży a za nimi rozlewisko z namorzynami . Restauracja jest na plaży więc śniadanie tam to cudowny początek dnia. Przemiła obsługa, pyszne jedzenie i drinki w restauracji. Możliwość popływania kajakiem po rozlewiskach e cenie pokoju.

Wszystko było super, jakby jeszcze w pokoju była lodóweczka by móc chłodzić wodę i napoje to już byłoby idealnie

Die 7-8 Chalets liegen inmitten eines wunderbaren Palmenhains, davor eine wirklich traumhafte Beach(besser geht’s glaub nicht ☺️), wenig Menschen. Die Bar zum Frühstücken, Mittagessen und Abendessen direkt vorne am Strand. Alle dort sooo freundlich und gechillt. Liegen stehen auch für Gäste der Bar zur Verfügung, aber wir haben immer eine schöne Liege bekommen. Die Chalets sind puristisch eingerichtet, funktional, AC funktioniert sehr gut (außer bei Stromausfall 😉) , große Dusche mit heißem Wasser, separates WC und der Außensitzbereich sehr groß, mit Liegesofa und sehr bequemen Stühlen, angenehme Beleuchtung, viel Privatsphäre. Das Frühstück war gut, aber nichts Besonderes im Vergleich zu den Frühstücken, die wir bisher auf der Reise hatten. Das Abendessen hat uns auch geschmeckt, Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön. 200 Meter entfernt (Richtung Tangalle), direkt am Sandstrand, ein wunderbares Fischlokal. Den Fahrer zu den Chalets von unserer vorhergehenden Unterkunft wurde nach Anfrage sofort organisiert, waren sehr zufrieden!!!

Hervoragende Lage direkt am Meer mit eigenen kleinen Badebereich. Die Beachbar war hervorragend, super freundliches Personal, leckere Cocktails und das Essen war auch super. Es war einfach grandios und ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Danke ans Beachbar Personal für ihre super freundliche Einstellung!!

Le cadre idyllique de l'hôtel, propice à la relaxation ! La gentillesse de l'équipe, toujours souriante et attentionnée. Le sentiment d'être seuls au monde sur cette plage quasiment déserte !

Quelques détails; la literie mériterait d'être plus épaisse pour davantage de confort, la carte du restaurant un peu plus variée, et une seule prise de courant était fonctionnelle dans notre chambre. Attention, 3% de frais applicables si réglement en CB.

We still can’t quite believe our luck stumbling upon this remarkable property. Mangrove Beach Chalets was for us simply perfect — nestled among palm-fringed shores on the beach at Tangalle. Our chalet was a standalone house with a wraparound balcony, generously proportioned at the front with sweeping views of the sea. Inside, soaring ceilings and windows on all sides flood the space with light, while an impressive amount of storage makes settling in effortless. For those who love tropical palms, this place is a dream you’ll never tire of taking in. The beach bar is naturally stunning — instant vacation feeling, complete with fresh fish and simple but good cocktails. The beach stretches endlessly. The sun loungers are positioned to give each guest their own sense of privacy — or company, depending on your mood. The mangroves are just waiting to be explored by kayak, and a couple of nearby beach bars makes for the perfect excuse to pause on a long walk along the shore. A little piece of paradise — we will absolutely be back. 🌴

The property could have more lights.

Einfach traumhaft. Man muss um zur Unterkunft zu kommen über eine fragwürdige Brücke laufen und denkt sich im ersten Moment „Ohje was uns da wohl erwartet“ und dann kommt dieser wunderschöne Strand mit den tollen einzelnen Häusschen was die Unterkünfte sind.

Ein Kühlschrank wäre noch perfekt gewesen.

Die Hütten direkt am Strand sind wie ein Traum und das Restaurant am Strand ist auch fabelhaft! Pure Erholung!!!

Прекрасное место! Идеально для отдыха! Просто райское место 💚 Есть место для безопасного купания в океане, прекрасные завтраки с видом на океан. Шезлонги в тени деревьев, чистый пляж!!! Так же есть река, на которой можно бесплатно покататься на каяках. Есть парковка для автомобиля. Мы заказывали ужин в баре на пляже. Огромные порции и очень вкусно!

Можно в номер поставить холодильник и чайник. Каяки староватые.

Das Mangrove Beach Chalet war eines unserer Highlights auf unserer Sri Lanka Rundreise. Die Bungalows sind direkt am wunderschönen Palmengarten und tollen Strand. Früh morgens konnten wir hinter unserem Haus die Äffchen und Warane beobachten. Es gibt auch wie in Sri Lanka üblich Hunde auf dem Areal aber die waren alle total lieb. Frühstück war lecker und wird im Restaurant direkt am Strand serviert. Der Ausblick aufs Meer ist traumhaft

This hotel is fantastic, you have everyhting : a cute bridge under mangrove which will bring you to the wonderfull beach with his almost private bar/restaurant in front of the ocean where the food is amazing. The staff at the bar provide you really good advices, don't hesitate to ask, they are kind and they know much more than any book guide or blog. You have the oppportuniy to swim at the ocean just in front of the bar ! Your chalet is cute and very comfortable, quite big actually for a couple, and mostly the entire area is really calm. It is a paradise place to relax, really one of the best hotel so far in my life.

If the breakfast could be a bit more original and tasty as all food at the bar/restaurant, this place would be absolutely perfect !

Endroit magnifique, chambre très confortable et très propre, sous les cocotiers et littéralement sur la plage , accès sécurisé pour profiter de la baignade dans l’océan, bar/resto très agréable et avec de la nourriture de qualité à des prix abordable. Superbe mangrove attenante à l’établissement et possibilité d’utiliser kayaks gratuitement.

Le cadre est vraiment exceptionnel ! Les pieds dans le sable pour tous les amoureux de la nature et du calme. Un décors paradisiaque. Le restaurant est très bon et le personnel très sympathique. Des kayaks sont à disposition pour découvrir la mangrove adjacente.

Les bungalows dont la décoration est assez sommaire. Il ne suffirait pas de grand chose pour faire de cet endroit un 5*

Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft! Die Bungalows sind praktisch eingerichtet und liegen angenehm weit auseinander. Die Beachbar ist preislich ok, qualitativ wirklich gut und der Service top!

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Stranbungalow, ein paar Schritte zum Meer. Es war wirklich fantastisch. Der Bungalow war sauber, die Betten bequem und man ist umgeben von Palmen und Meeresrauschen. Dadurch, dass die Anlage nur 9 Zimmer hat, ist es sehr ruhig, nur einige Tagesgäste nutzen noch Strand und Restaurant. Das Frühstück im Strandrestaurant ist ebenfalls hervorragend und das Personal sehr bemüht und lässig! Da es wenige Alternativen in der Umgebung gibt, kann man ganztägig im Standrestaurant gut und recht preiswert essen.

Zweit Punkte, die es zu verbessern gäbe, wären: 1. Internet im Zimmer (keins vorhanden ) und besseres Internet im Standrestaurant. Da auch kaum Mobilfunkempfang vor Ort ist, ist man sehr "abgeschnitten" 2. Zu überdenken wären außerdem die 3% Kreditkartengebühr die seit kurzem in Sri Lanka eigentlich gesetzlich verboten wurden. Sonst zahlt man neben der Servicegebühr von 10% auf alles, noch 3 % Kreditkarten-Gebühren.

Sehr schöne Bungalows an einem schönen ruhigen Strand Alles hat uns sehr gut gefallen nur das Abendessen war nicht ganz so unser Geschmack
