Tolle, gepflegte Anlage direkt am Meer. Die Cabanas sind sehr schön, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und der Aufenthalts- und Essbereich ist luftig und mit Blick aufs Meer. Abgelegen, aber mit Tuktuk, Scooter oder Taxi kein Problem nach Tangalle. Dazu war Frühstück und Abendessen sehr lecker und der Service prima. Wir haben die 2 Tage hier genossen. Wunderbar!

Wunderschöne, gepflegte Anlage direkt am eigenen Strand. Die Hütten sind gut ausgestattet und mit hochwertigen Materialien gebaut. Nachdem wir ein paar Stunden hier waren, haben wir gleich für eine Nacht verlängert. Traumhafter, super sauberer, kaum besuchter und kilometerlangen Sandstrand. Zur aktuellen Zeit (Aug.) ist Baden praktisch unmöglich, 11da bei Flut und Ebbe extreme Brandung mit meterhohen Wellen herrscht. Aber das kennt man ja an der Südostküste zu dieser Jahreszeit. Zum Zuschauen aber extrem spektakulär. Nach Tangalle etwas weit, aber mit Scooter oder Tuktuk auch machbar. Sehr nettes, hilfreiches Personal. Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen waren lecker und zu üblichen Preisen.

Super lokacija, hiške direktno na obali. Žal ni možno kopanje (tokovi, valovi), je pa možno približno 300 metrov stran izpred Mangrove beach chalet. Krasna postrežba, ustrežljivo osebje. Psički, ki ti delajo družbo na obali. To je res kraj za uživati in spočiti se.

Ob temperaturah, ki smo jih imeli, bi prav prišla klima, ampak potem bi hiške izgubile svoj čar preprostosti.

Le propriétaire est tres serviable, accueillant et au petit soin. Lodge bien entretenu et propre. D'ici cet été un deuxième logement sera prêt. Bon guide même si nous avons pas pu faire notre safari en moto. Il a agrémenté la balade près de la reserve par une visite des salins. Très bon souper et petit-déjeuner Sri lankais variés et copieux. Jardin bien entretenu avec vu sur la réserve ou dès notre arrivé nous avons pu observer 4 éléphants...trop chanceux!!

The magic atmosphere of the place!

That the cabana was situated right at the beach. Overlooking the long clean wild beach with the incredible waves. Not far away there is a natural swimming pool thanks to the reef that break the waves and allow for a refreshing dip in the ocean.

Tolle Hütchen direkt am Strand. Das Mangrove Beach Cabana gehört zum Mangrove Beach Chalet. Die zwei Hotels liegen ein paar 100m auseiander am gleichen Strand. Baden geht nur vor dem Beach Chalet. Machte aber den Kindern und uns viel Spass. Die Liegen beim Chalet sind super zum Entspannen und Baden... Super Essen gibt es in Beiden Restaurants. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal.

Cabana right on Tangalle beach. Bathroom in a bunker where you had a trap door to open.Fan with sea breeze was great. Bed comfortable. Patio was great. Short walk to safe swimming area in the sea. Restaurants close by.

Location, location, location ! Nous avions réservé une cabane de plage "dans le jardin", parce qu'il ne restait plus de logements directement sur la plage, mais finalement, nous avons préféré cet emplacement un peu en retrait de la plage, quand nous avons découvert sur place le bruit lié au déferlement des grosses vagues. Je sais d'expérience que cela peut contrarier l'endormissement... Les maisonnettes éparpillées favorisent la tranquillité et l'intimité des clients, ce qui en fait un hôtel très chouette que nous avons beaucoup apprécié. L'accueil est correct et la literie est bonne. La salle de bain est spacieuse et sans pénurie d'eau chaude, et son ameublement, comme celui de la chambre, est assez rudimentaire, mais suffisant. Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel et bu des lassis à la mangue, et c'était très bon. La plage, bordée de cocotiers et de pineapple trees (vacoas) est très jolie, et invite au farniente. Il doit être sympa d'y passer des journées sur un transat à lire ou à refaire le monde avec ses proches, entre 2 séances de surf... Cependant, la baignade semble impossible, en raison des rouleaux qui se succèdent impitoyablement. Nous nous sommes rendus au centre de préservation des tortues marines tout proche qui nous a donné rendez-vous sur la plage à la tombée de la nuit et nous avons eu le privilège d'assister, tout émus, à la ponte d'une tortue. Nous recommandons cet hébergement !

Rien, mais on a un peu eu le sentiment que cet hôtel compte sur son emplacement incroyable pour se reposer sur ses lauriers, et maintenir un niveau de prestations "correct".

Amazing location, amazing restaurant and amazing views outside! The cabana was very nice and clean but gave you a rustic feel, even though everything was actually perfectly polished. It gives the feeling of living in a bamboo shack on the beach but it also has resort amenities like a good restaurant, everything being super clean, etc. If you truly love the beach, stay here. You’ll be in heaven!

Nothing! Some might be annoyed by having to open a trap door to access the bathroom, but I don’t think all the cabanas are like that so you can just request a different one with a shower above ground. I personally enjoyed showering under the stairs. I thought it was quirky and fun

Essen war herausragend. Der Strandabschnitt war für uns der Allerschönste. Abgelegen, breit. Das Personal super liebenswert und hilfreich. Wir haben die Ruhe gefunden, die wir gesucht haben.

Wenn man zentral in der Stadt sein will, dann ist das Hitel nicht das richtige. Für ubs war es perfekt. Wir wollten ein bisschen Abstand vom Trubel.

Very beautiful location on the beach. You can’t swim in front but few minutes walk from the hotel.

There is no outside shower, really not convenient when you went for a dip or after check out. Staff was not really helpful. They didn’t mention we had breakfast included…

De locatie was geweldig. Fantastisch strand, zeer rustig, huisje met uitzicht op zee. Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hadden in eerste instantie een huisje met uitzicht op de tuin, dit was zonder problemen en voor een gering bedrag om te boeken naar een huisje met zeezicht. Je kon er in het restaurant lekker eten en het was ook geen probleem om te eten en drinken bij het huisje. We hebben echt genoten van deze dagen!

We really loved Mangrove Cabana in Tangalle and had a wonderful stay. The beach front bungalow we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The breakfast was also very nice. If you walk to the right side of the cabana, you’ll find a small and beautiful natural lagoon (Part of sister hotel Mangrove Chalets) where you can swim. We definitely recommend visiting it. There is also a tiny fish restaurant called Sha Sha nearby that sells fresh fish caught the same day. The way they cook the fish is excellent and the service was great. We really enjoyed Tangalle and would stay here again. We especially recommend trying that small fish restaurant as well.

Ein absoluter Traum am Meer. Füße im Sand, Strandspaziergänge und super Essen. Kilometerlanger Strand, sauber, hohe Wellen. Die beste Unterkunft, die wir bisher hier in Sri Lanka hatten. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Amazing location on a quiet and secluded beach. The hut is lovely and you can hear the sea at night when sleeping. Outdoor shower and bathroom is amazing.

Breakfast is okey. The staff didn’t give much information when we arrive eg. what time is breakfast etc.

The most amazing location away from any crowds, it really felt like paradise. We were so pleased we chose to stay here, especially after exploring other areas of Tangalle that we had looked at booking at as it was much calmer with more of a wild and untouched look. It’s the best place for totally switching off and not doing much. Just a short walk down the beach, you can go to watch baby turtles hatch in the evening and watch the adults come in to lay eggs in a much less commercial tourist setting than other spots (from what we were told). The cabanas were comfortable and positioned right on the beach, you only need to step out of the front door to start the day. We felt the pictures online didn’t do this place justice, it really was perfect!

Nothing that we didn’t like at all. Only things to note for other people is there is a heavy trap door you have to lift to get down to the bathroom in a basement style setup, which might not be suitable for anyone with any mobility/stability issues. Also to note, the sea on this beach is generally not good/safe to swim at, which might be a problem for some, but not us. There are plenty other options nearby for that and the view and location more than make up for it.

Stunning beach front property which was on an incredibly peaceful beach. The restaurant food was tasty and staff were very friendly, one even helped get a water bottle I left behind to Ella for me!

Es una cabaña con dos alturas preciosa situada enfrente de unos arrozales. Escuchas el sonido de la naturaleza . Es el sitio más bonito en el que nos hemos alojado y vamos a repetir en breve.Tharindu , el sueño es una persona maravillosa que nos dio muy buenos consejos y nos trató con mucho cariño . Y tienen un desayuno fabuloso.

Emplacement exceptionnel : le bruit des vagues pour s’endormir c’est incroyable. La plage était presque déserte, on a vu une tortue nager depuis le sable. Pour un séjour au calme et coupé du monde c’est parfait !

Wir waren bereits vor 11 Jahren hier und es ist noch immer ein traumhaftes Paradies, es hat sich fast nichts verändert. Die Lage direkt am Meer ist atemberaubend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, das gesamte Team ist sehr gastfreundlich. Das Frühstück und Abendessen sehr lecker, der Fisch des Tages ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten eine Beach Villa mit direktem Zugang zum Strand und diese Hütten sind ein absoluter Traum. Eigener Strand, eigenes Meer und ein Bad unter Sternenhimmel. Wir sind schon viel gereist, aber diese Unterkunft ist definitiv eines unserer Top 3 Highlights of All Time.

De locatie is echt schitterend, heel rustig en schoon. Je komt er echt tot rust, helaas maar 1 nacht geboekt.

Het luik naar de badkamer onder het huisje is redelijk zwaar als je in de nacht naar het toilet moet

Dans les cabanes, la salle d'eau en souplex peut ne pas convenir à certaines personnes. La baignade dangereuse, sauf à un endroit bien précis protégé par le récif. L'hôtel pourrait proposer un petit catalogue d'activités par prestataire

The location is just fantastic,.you fall asleep to the sounds of the huge waves! Bathroom is simple but big and clean, through steep stairs down in a door at the floor. The place is quiet and clean everywhere. Totally paradise for us! Extended our stay as we loved it so much! Stay in the Cabanas with seaview!

The location is fantastic! It was amazing to have some time away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. So peaceful and magical to walk straight out from the cabana and onto the beach. The food was always delicious and we were more than happy to stay in the calm of the hotel and eat their food all day :)

The bathroom underneath a big heavy door in the ground, with steep stairs was a bit tricky to navigate at night

L’accueil lorsque nous sommes arrivés etait très moyen. Aucune explication sur le fonctionnement de l’hôtel. Le personnel ne respire pas la joie de vivre. Ils ne sont pas à l’image des sri-Lankais que nous avons rencontrés. La descente pour la salle de bain peut être un peu compliqué pour certaines personnes. Cela devrait être notifié lors de la réservation.

It was wonderful!! We didn't want to leave there. The location was very beautiful, the staff was kind, the room was very nice and clean.

L’emplacement super au bord de la plage. Les bons petits déjeuners jus de fruits et fruits frais et les bons dîners ont été appréciés . La chambre était un peu vétuste car nous étions trois et n’avons pas vu bénéficier des chalets refaits dommage …

Dommage qu’il n’y ai pas eu un frigidaire, et plus de ventilateurs car la nuit il y fait très chaud …

Staff at the cabana were as super friendly and accommodating

The cabana was full of mosquitoes, and I got bitten all over. Since it was directly on the beach, it was like a sauna, and the fan inside only made it worse by blowing hot air directly on the bed. It might be okay to stay in during pleasant weather, but it’s not recommended to stay during hot weather unless you prefer to be baked in sauna-like conditions. The management should invest in some portable air conditioning units. Also the internet is only available in the reception area and not in the cabanas.

Wir kamen zur Nebensaison her und hatten bis auf drei weitere Personen den Strand und die Cabanas für uns alleine. Der direkte Zugang zum Strand ist perfekt und man kann von morgens bis abends den Wellen zuhören.

Wir haben ein Zimmer Upgrade durch Booking erhalten was recht cool war da wir das Bungalow direkt mit Meersicht hatten. Das Meeresrauschen Nachts hören zu können war richtig toll. Außerdem ist die Lage direkt am Strand beim Frühstück & Abendessen außergewöhnlich und man hat eine tolle Sicht. Das Bungalow war allgemein sehr speziell & das offene Badezimmer mit Regenwald Dusche war ein cooles Erlebnis :) Ein paar Meter weiter gibt es eine tolle Strand Bar die auch zu dem Hotel gehört und genutzt werden kann dort besteht auch die Möglichkeit bei oft starker Strömung etwas baden zu gehen, vielleicht auch Saison abhängig.

Ganz früh morgens (ca gegen 6 Uhr) fängt schon jemand an draußen die Blätter direkt neben der „offenen“ Hütte/Bungalow zu fegen. Allgemein hört man natürlich alles und jeden und es wird sehr hell (kaum Möglichkeiten zum abdunkeln) In dem Meer direkt vor dem Bungalow zu baden ist leider nicht möglich wegen der hohen Wellen/ Strömungen. Das Sri Lanka Breakfast muss man leider immer einen Tag vorher buchen oder bestellen…. Finde ich sehr schade das es nicht „spontan“ möglich ist!

The location is perfect, just right in front of the beach, quiet, and walking distance to the lagoon. The dining hall was really nice with plenty of option for lunch or dinner. Shout out to Menik who was so helpful, polite and friendly, making my stay really comfortable. Wiraj and Ashan were also nice and ready to help. I wish to stay longer.

Voor een duik in de zee was het een kleine 300m wandelen maar aldaar was er ook de mogelijkheid om wat te nuttigen of gebruik maken van ligstoelen. Om in de golven van de zee te duiken is de plek niet toegankelijk

It is literally on the beach!! Perfect!! The cabanas are super cute and the beds are very comfy. Had the best stay here! Staff were wonderful and attentive and helped us out with information. The wildlife around the place is very cool!!

Unfortunately on our last night I couldnt sleep a wink due to heavy music coming from a hotel across the river. Ofcourse this is no reflection on Mangrove beach however it did effect the stay slightly. Nobody has previously mentioned that you CANNOT SWIM HERE. The swell and under currents are very very strong here and you need to walk about 10 - 15 minutes down the beach towards a small lagoon.

La localisation est excellente : il s'agit du dernier hôtel sur la plage, avant la plage de Rekawa et le Turtle Wildlife Project où on peut observer le soir (selon la saison) la ponte des tortues ou l'éclosion de bébés tortues. L'hôtel est un peu à l'écart du centre-ville de Tangalle, mais cela permet d'être au calme et de n'avoir que le bruit de la mer. Nous avons été agréablement accueillis, avec un verre de jus de fruits frais pour toute la famille. Nous avions réservé 2 chambres : une "villa" (pour 3 personnes et avec une douche extérieure superbe, et un petit frigo notamment) ainsi qu'une cabane (pour 2 personnes, avec la salle de bains en sous-sol). Ces 2 chambres étaient très bien arrangées, avec literie confortable, moustiquaires, etc. Ces 2 chambres avaient une magnifique vue sur la mer, une terrasse confortable ainsi que des transats, hamacs. Nous avons dîné sur place et c'était délicieux. Il y avait du choix (cuisine locale et plus occidentale) y compris pour nos enfants. Le petit-déjeuner inclus dans notre réservation étaient aussi très bien (fruits ou jus au choix, café/thé, toasts). Enfin, comme cet hôtel notre dernier logement avant notre retour à l'aéroport pour un vol tard le soir, nous avons demandé s'il était possible de rester un peu plus longtemps (jusque 15h) et ils ont accepté de nous laisser une des 2 chambres sans supplément (l'autre étant réservée ce jour-là). Note positive : nous avons pu payer par carte de crédit contrairement à ce qui était indiqué dans la réservation sur Booking. Globalement, le meilleur logement de notre séjour au Sri-Lanka. Si nous avons la chance de revenir, nous retournerions certainement dans cet hôtel.

Rien. Tout était juste parfait ! Une suggestion : proposer des lampes rouges en prêt aux clients de l'hôtel qui souhaitent observer les tortues de nuit plus loin sur la plage (la lumière blanche étant interdite car nuisible aux tortues).

Location was perfect! Straight to the beach and you can fall asleep listening to the waves. The hotel has a restaurant which is a huge plus. Friendly staff.

The windows were half open without a mosquito net which means all the insects and lizards get in.

Attention bungalow dangereux trappe pour accéder à la salle de bain , impossible pour les personnes âgées ou handicapés et cela n'est pas précisé. Plage dangereuse baignade interdite Nous avons rencontré des serpents mais l'hôtel n'est pas responsable Les vagues sont tellement puissantes qu'il est impossible de dormir . Endroit paradisiaque mais la journée uniquement. Attention à ce que vous consommez ils notent sur votre chambre vos consommations et grosse surprise quand vous payez et aucun tickets aucune note pour vérifier. Je pense qu'ils nous ont doublé voir triplé nos consommations

I got bed bugs from bungalow 10, in single bed…

The view was incredible, the breakfast was simple but nice a few of the male staff were nice.

One of the 3 male staff (possibly skeleton staff and the one left in charge over the Sri Lankan New Year period), was super unwelcoming, unsmiling most of the time and felt like he went out of his way to make you feel uncomfortable (as a solo female traveller). I am unsure if he is like that with everyone, or if he just didn’t like the fact that I asked to move rooms due to the fact they wanted to put me in one of the two beach front properties that is right next to a big ugly chain link wire fence. (It was a fence from the adjoining property, however extended beyond and in front of the cabana. To be fair, he did (huffily and begrudgingly) put me in the cabana next door, however he certainly stayed surly for the entirety of my stay. My cabanas sheets were laundered I am sure, but very stained and old and I am just glad I did not look under the pillow cases until I was leaving…. extremely mouldy pillows! Granted this is mid level accomodation ($120 a night) and not 5 star, but for that I would hope for at least unstained bedding. The other two male staff I spoke with over breakfast etc were nice.

You feel a little bit you are in heaven, peaceful, no traffic, you only hear the ocean …

The hotel is truly beautiful! We had a fantastic cabin overlooking the ocean with a private outdoor bathroom. The location is incredibly beautiful; it reminded us of the Maldives. Being the last hotel in the row also meant there were hardly any tourists around, and we had the whole beach to ourselves. The service was always friendly and helpful! The food and cocktails were also very good. Be aware that you can't really swim there because the waves are very high. But it's a wonderful place to cool off. Everything was perfect, and we would have loved to stay longer.

Totally unprofessional staffs. Room and washroom was dirty. the aproach road is so bad that sedan had to stop 300 metre far from the resort. Completely overpriced

The location was stunning and very peaceful. The cabanas faced the beach and we could here the soothing ocean sounds. In terms of facilities, the only downside is that the bathroom was in a deep basement with a ladder to go down. The trap door to close the bathroom ceiling was also very heavy. The staff were not friendly - by far the least friendly of any stay we had in Sri Lanka. Overall, still a nice experience.

Paradise on earth!!! Little bungalow straight at beautiful beach with palms and not people at all. Very clean and close to nice cafes, restaurant and safe place to swim. Outside shower under palms and stars is the best thing ever. It was our best stay in Sri Lanka. I have no words how happy we felt about this place. Delicious breakfast and fresh juices. Kind and helpful staff. Walking distance to the beach where we spotted big turtles. Big sunbed just outside the cabin where you can chill and admire the views.

That we couldn't stay longer but will be back.

The beach was gorgeus, however, very difficult to swim because of huge waves. The restaurant area is really nice, there is nice ambient music and the food and drinks offer is good. You can really comfortably sit and look at the ocean. The cabanas are nice, the bathroom is under trap door through a few stairs - quite steep, but ok. Due to the nature of the cabana - it is open space, there were a few lizards and one night a marten came and teared open one of our bags (just a textile small bag) because we left a cookie there. We were able to book a massage in the nearby place through the hotel so that was nice

- difficult to swim due to huge waves - animals and insect in the room (however, natural due to the nature of the accommodation) - there is not much facilities nearby to the hotel - the sunbeds are not in the best condition

Beautiful beach bungalows with a creative bathroom. The location is quiet and perfect for anyone looking for a place to relax.

The accommodation is very difficult to reach. You can’t go into the sea because the current is too strong along this long beach. The staff is not very friendly and seems quite bored. The bathroom was not very clean.

Very beautiful cabanas on the wildest part of Tangalle’s beach. We booked the « villa » for one night and it is definitely worth the price:) The atmosphere is super peaceful, the position on the beach amazing, and the open shower is pretty nice too! There is also a beach bar/restaurant. Dinner was nothing special but the breakfast is good, served directly with your feet in the sand.

Lacking the Sri Lankan charm of other locations that we have stayed on our trip. Although nice to escape, be aware that the WiFi is poor and that it appears to be switched off totally after 9.30pm. Also just another point was that the bathroom is accessed through a trap door which would make it unsuitable for some people.

The cabana was lovely. Comfy bed, nice and clean. The location was stunning. So peaceful and serene.

The staff really let this place down. We didn’t feel particularly welcome. The one guy serving breakfast was actually quite rude. A real shame as we’ve been in Sri Lanka for 3 months and this is the first time we’ve felt like this at a property. It’s a beautiful location but sadly the staff put us off returning 😔

Location, location,location …. Weather dependent of course but the combination of sunshine, pounding waves, an endless, virtually deserted, beach six steps from the door of your own coconut-thatched, hardwood cabin, with its ‘seashells and steeping stones’ outdoor bathroom is pretty hard to beat ..for us anyway.

Mangrove Beach Cabana is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. A beachfront cabin surrounded by palm trees creates an incredible atmosphere of peace and harmony with nature. The only sound accompanying my stay was the soothing waves of the Indian Ocean. The cabin is luxuriously equipped, providing the highest level of comfort. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfasts served directly on the beach – enjoying a meal with such a breathtaking view was an unforgettable experience. Every moment here was special, filled with relaxation and wonderful memories. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tranquility, serenity, and a perfect connection with nature in a truly exclusive setting! 🌴🌊✨

Staying in a cabana on a beautiful beach was a dream that came true. Simple place but who needs more in such a location? Walking towards the rising sun, watching a mama turtle making her way back to the ocean after laying eggs, playing with the waves… it was perfect! Even the mongoose who sneaked in at night looking for my lunch takeaway was part of the adventure of being surrounded by nature.

All good; be aware that if you want the Sri Lankan breakfast you need to order it the day before, something the staff forgot to mention. The currents are quite strong so this is not suitable for swimming.
