Please note that from September until May southwest road access to Geiranger from RV 63 Route may be closed due to the weather. Access is still possible on RV 63 from the north. Please contact the property for more information.
The hotel does not accept group bookings. When booking more than 6 rooms, please contact the hotel directly. Bookings of more than 6 rooms, may be canceled unless confirmed directly with the property.
The hotel is currently expanding, and there is an ongoing building proccess that will finish in October 2023. We therefore kindly inform that there will be some ongoing construction work around the hotel during the summer season. Most of the labor will happen inside the neighboring building and we believe that this will not be so disturbing for our staying guests. We are working close with the carpenters that the few "noisy" jobs will be done in the middle of the day, between check-out and check-in, when the hotel is as empty as possible, however we have taken this in consideration in terms of room prices until the work is finished. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Rooms and beds are luxuriously comfortable. Breakfast was the best we've had in the last two weeks for travelling through Copenhagen and Norway!

Do not stay at this hotel if your main reason is for the shuttle into town. It is unreliable and it only goes a few times a day and not in the evening. Last shuttle at 5:00 PM. We waited in town for 25 minutes for shuttle we had reserved to take us back to hotel. Finally walked back to the hotel and shuttle passed us as we were almost there. It's a do-able walk, though, about 1.2 miles. Limited dinner menu. (not much in town, either).

La habitación tiene lo suficiente para estar cómodo. El baño esta muy bien equipado y ofrecen distintos jabones para la ducha y lociones corporales que huelen muy bien. También disfrutamos del jacuzzi que fue muy relajante!

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Das Hotel lebt von seiner Lage. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich gut und es gab alles was man sich nur vorstellen kann, bei tollem Ausblick auf den Fjord. Wir konnten bereits vor der eigentlichen Check-In-Zeit ein Zimmer beziehen.
Aufgrund unserer frühen Ankunft haben wir leider ein Zimmer in einem separaten Gebäude auf der untersten Ebene mit einem eingeschränkten Blick auf den Fjord bekommen. Die Parkplatzsituation war teilweise etwas schwierig und die Parkplätze sehr eng.

Sans aucun demande de notre part nous avons été placé dans une chambre avec vue sur le fjord car il restait de la place. Sans supplément. Difficile de faire mieux pour satisfaire le client !
Un local pour sécher les habits et chaussures mouillés après une marche serait bienvenu

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026The food at the hotel was exceptional. It was the best breakfast and dinner that we had on a 10 day trip to Norway. The hotel has an amazing view of the Fjords. It has the best view and location in the town of Geiranger. It is out of town by maybe a 3 minute drive, but it is nice not to be right downtown at a hotel when the cruise boats come in. The rooms, bathrooms and balcony were nice. The staff couldn't have been nicer and were so helpful!

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026We had a really pleasant stay at Grande Fjord Hotel. The staff’s service was great and when we are checking in we were kindly upgraded to the panoramic view room. It has breathtaking view of the fjord. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast with the view of fjord, good food and lots of selection. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to Geiranger.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2026Stunning property right in the heart of the fjord. Everything about this property exudes comfort and luxury. It’s quiet, peaceful & you live comfortably in the middle of nature. The restaurant is expensive but the food is worth it. The breakfast (included) buffet is one of the best I experienced in my Norway visit. The activities offered by the hotel (kayaking, cruise) are good but, one can check other operators in Geiranger as well. The rooms themselves are comfortable and cozy. Amenities provided in the rooms are good.
The EV charging is slow and as expensive as a fast EV charger.

We took advantage of drinks in the hot tub the night we arrived and in the morning had a dip in the fjord and straight into the very nice hotel sauna. Breakfast was also very good.
The room seemed a bit musty, but the hotel did well with an air purifier and perfume to combat, so it wasn't really an issue. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice.

Accueil EXCEPTIONNEL de gentillesse et d’efficacite (nous a permis de rester 1 nuit de plus en dernière minute dans une suite). Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Location, location, location. This is a beautiful place a bit away from the centre of town with a great view of the first bend of the fjord. The hotel felt new and fresh. There were some activities on offer, like kayaking and sauna. Parking was plentiful and included. The breakfast the best we had for two weeks. Staff was also very friendly and helpful even when we had one quite unusual question. We also arrived a bit early and were allowed an early check-in. Thank you!
The downside of the location is that you either walk on the car road into town or you drive amd search for parking there. Though I saw a mention of a shuttle as well, which would indeed be practical. This was, for us, the most expensive hotel on our trip, but that's just something you need to consider when booking. And this is a popular and touristy part of the country. However, the three-course dinner was clearly overpriced for what was served and it was served oddly fast. The first course and dessert were good but the trout in between was dry and soulless in a way I'd expect from a canteen, not this kind of place. I would definitely stay here again but I would have my dinner elsewhere.
