The location and cleanliness. The Breakfest was good.

The shower water temperature was unstable. Apparently the hotel had temporary piping problem during our stay.

The atmosphere

Hotel położony genialnie- blisko sklepów, lokali, łatwa dostępność na lotnisko i na trekingi. Klimatyczny, czysty, butikowy. Przestrzeń restauracyjno- recepcyjna z klimatem. W kominku ciągle palił się ogień, dostępne miejsca do relaksu wokół. Ciepło, przyjemnie.

Jedyna sugestia- szafa w pokoju ciut większa, albo z zamykanymi szafkami.

The location was very central and the breakfast was very good.

We had issues with the hot water which only came irregular and for a short time. We were several times in contact with the hotel and they told us the water comes from extern and they don't heat it up by themselves?! In the end we checked two more rooms (by ourselves) and ended up using the shower in a room from a different floor (one medium hot shower for both of us during our whole stay, not very comfortabl). Also there were clearly internal communication problems regarding this issue and we were speaking to 4 different person's about that. In the 2 nights we stayed our room was also not serviced and we could not eat in the restaurant at any time in the afternoon or evening as we were told it's fully booked and there is only 1 waiter. The whole evening we didn't see anybody in the restaurant. A real pity the whole situation.

We stayed in the Polar Bear Suite. It was great with the amount of space in the suite. The location was excellent. The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel has a warm cozy feel. The breakfast was fine.Nothing wrong with it but other hotels we have stayed at in Norway served better food.

470 € pro Nacht ist ein stolzer Preis, aber im Juli ist das in Longyearbyen wohl nicht ungewöhnlich.

Parfait confort et emplacement bien central. Gentillesse du personnel. En face de l Office du Tourisme. Dîners et petits déjeuners fantastiques

The hotel is overall well maintained and for us it is the best choice in Longyearbyen - very nice modern interiors, wooden floors, the room (we were given an up-grade) was spacious as was the bathroom; obviously somebody took some efforts to decorate the room properly in "arctic style" with polar bear prints and wooden walls. The hallways/staircase were nice and modern and it was very clean. The staff were friendly and the food we had for dinner was very tasty. If we ever come back we would stay here.

It was most likely the most expensive option in town but we enjoyed the hotel, especially as it was the end of our trip.

Sehr gemütliches, schönes Hotel. Die Lage direkt im Zentrum ist hervorragend. Auch das Frühstück und das Personal konnten überzeugen.

Das Hotel war schon sehr teuer. Wobei angemerkt werden muss, dass das für alle Hotels in Longyearbyen gleichermassen gilt. Trotzdem werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Geräumige Zimmer mit kompletter Ausstattung. Lage im Zentrum des Dorfes, 15 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Hafen. Umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet.

Super gemütliches Hotel in zentraler Lage. Sehr saubere Zimmer, tolle Betten und mega freundliches Personal. Wir haben gleich nochmal das Hotel vor Ort für 2 Nächte gebucht. Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielseitig und das Abendessen im Hotel spitze.

Das Hotel liegt an der Einkaufsstrasse. In der Lobby hat es bequeme Sessel und Sofas, wo man entspannen und den Tag/Abend geniessen kann. Kaffee und Tee stehen kostenlos zur Verfügung. Unser Zimmer war im Nebengebäude, direkt gegenüber vom Haupteingang. Es war hell, sauber und das Bad war ausreichend gross. Das Frühstücksbuffet war fein. Es gab Aufschnitt, Käse, Eier, Würstchen, Joghurt, Früchte, Pancakes, verschiedene Brote etc. Somit war für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Tolle Lage, prima Frühstück und nettes Personal. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The bathroom seemed a bit tricky with the drain, it kind of spread water all over the floor. I think the hotel could use an upgrade with a sauna or hot tub - would be a big plus.

too hot, water in the shower was tepid/cold. i didn't think it was worth the money. Also the breakfast was very poor with little choice and a dearth of fresh fruit. it felt more like a student cafe than a hotel.

Very great stay. We were really happy with our room. Black out curtains was sufficient enough for sleeping during the midnight sun. You can also half open the windows to let fresh air in which was a huge plus for us. Breakfast was nice and adequate. They also have free coffee almost all day long. Very nice and positive staff.

Nothing i can think of. But just a heads up, you need to take off your shoes before entering the hotel which is normal in most places in Longyearbyen. And they give slippers for you

Sehr ruhig und gemütlich, zentral gelegen. Freundliches Personal. War unser driter Aufenthalt hier und wir kommen sicher wieder. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Location is the only positive about this hotel

Everything! Terrible fixtures and fittings, badly thought out layout, no sound proofing between rooms. Top rates charged but no one to help with bags, a ridiculous rule about taking your shoes off on entry, no coffee machine, an hour and a half to get a hot chocolate because there was one young girl in charge of absolutely everything in the hotel. This was budget decor, service & facilities charging 5* prices. Daylight robbery to be frank. Avoid and stay at Funken Hotel instead.

This was an excellent hotel, the location is great next to two restaurants and all the shops. The rooms are big and cozy and the reception area is great with a view of fire place and complimentary tea and coffee for the guests. The hotel restaurant is also great and the breakfast has a decent variety of items from pancakes to soft boiled eggs, porridge etc.

The wifi can be a bit slow at times.

Hôtel bien situé au centre de Longyearbyen. J'ai trouvé le rapport qualité prix moyen. Les tarifs sont élevés pour un service comparable à ce que l'on trouve en Europe dans un hôtel 3 étoiles. Mais on est au svalbard !

Beliggenheten var super. Midt i sentrum og gangavstand til det meste. Veldig hyggelig personale.

Very comfortable and good size superior room, got a great view of the midnight sun at the sea. One “night”we saw a reindeer crossing the street. Excellent location, quick walking distance to pretty much anything. Very cozy atmosphere and good breakfast. Morning receptionist (woman) was so warm and welcoming, loved the surprise for our anniversary!

Location was fantastic, my bed was really comfy.

A couple of the staff ( not all ) were a bit surly. It felt like you were disturbing them. It did make me not want to ask them anything. There is a drinking water problem on the island and we were told to ask for filtered water from a machine. Couple of times that proved to be like I was asking for too much, I got it myself on more than one occasion, (just from a sink one meter behind the bar) and once when I offered to get it myself, because the fella behind the desk clearly wasn’t moving! He was absolutely vile to me like I was entering a restricted area! Particularly as it was my 60th birthday that day, it wasn’t the day I wanted somebody to be rude. I think some of it’s lost in Norwegian translation but if you’re hosting internationally, there should be more emphasis on being welcoming. I don’t think anyone deserves a miserable face at them when they’re asking for tapwater.!

Excellent Norwegian breakfast. Very modern and new hotel with heated bathroom floors, very functional lay out and much more than you would expect being in the artic circle.

It is customary in Svalbard to wear slippers inside which is great. However, all of the hotel slippers are the same color and style, though they do put the room number on the bottom. Nonetheless, many people seem to ignore the room number and take your slippers. I advise the hotel to use different color slippers or guests to bring their own slippers.

breakfast was OK, although for the price we paid we expected a better coffee (e.g. a cappuccino or decaffenaited coffee)

The price was too high for the room we had. The room was small, the forniture was very basic, no fridge in the room. Also the common spaces in the hotel were limited. I am used to sleep in gueshouses and hostels, but when I pay 300 euros per night I expect a better hotel.

Det lå sentralt, så det var korte gåavstander til alt i byen. Vi fikk god hjelp med alt vi lurte på. Det var fint da vi var usikker på transport til flyplass. God service og fine rom.

Vi hadde planer om å spise middag på hotellet, men det var ikke plass. Mange folk er det ikke så mye å gjøre med, så det er ikke hotellet sin feil.

We had a great time in Svalbard hotell. It was nice and quiet, the beds were comfy. Great fireplace in the lobby with complimentary tea and coffee.
