L’hôtel est dans une maison traditionnelle magnifique. La chambre était superbe, spacieuse et confortable. Le bois est omniprésent et on se croit dans un musée. L’accueil est charmant (fruits et jus délicieux) et le personnel m’a aidée à trouver un taxi plusieurs fois. Fantastique petit-déjeuner traditionnel (chataamari et Juju-dhau délicieux). C’est en plein centre de Patan.

The hotel is located in a historic building, so it offers a unique experience. Staff was cordial and welcoming. The a la carte breakfast was excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Low ceilings, but that was expected.

Everything was beautiful in this property. Heritage feels and is a perfect peaceful location. Just the room ceiling is low as per their newari style but good height people may face the issue but rest everything was good. Met Pratyush at the desk and he was very welcoming and kind to help us out.

Ein wirklich einzigartig schönes Hotel in bester Lage mit tollen und sehr sauberen Zimmern, Innenhof und einer Dachterrasse. Gleich neben dem Durbar Square Patan in einer belebten Gegend. Zudem eine wunderbare Crew von jungen Leuten. Das Ganze ist Teil einer sozialen Institution, die das Haus betreibt und saniert hat. Das Frühstück kann selbst gewählt werden und war sehr fein! Ich habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt!

Lovely historical property with original features. Good modern bathroom with real hot water. Beautiful courtyard area for breakfast or chilling.

1. It has low ceilings (in many places not high enough for a tall person to stand). That’s expected with an old (300 years plus old?) property. Also 2. The room had no aircon (this was clear from the listing). I was there at a hot time of year and it was a bit too hot for me in the room even with the fan provided. 3. Some noise from the street. There are some more modern rooms at the back. I can’t comment on them, other than I was told the ceilings are higher. These are things to be aware of. I am still glad to have stayed there.

Soddisfatta oltre le aspettative! Dormire in una casa UNESCO è stato ben più di un semplice soggiorno. Newa Chen è un posto che ti fa sentire a casa, lo staff è gentilissimo, la colazione ottima e la bellezza del posto semplicemente unica! Inoltre, fatto fondamentale, Newa Chen partecipa a un disegno più ampio, ovverosia è parte del progetto umanitario Kam For Sud. E dunque è davvero emozionante contribuire a fare del bene pagando un soggiorno presso questa struttura. Un aspetto questo che mi ha convinta a prolungare il mio soggiorno qui molto più a lungo del previsto! Raccomando a tutti di chiedere informazioni sui progetti umanitari legati a Newa Chen, perché sono tanti, sono preziosi e arricchiscono notevolmente il soggiorno a Patan. Grazie di cuore a tutti, sono partita… ma un pezzo di cuore è rimasto lì con tutti voi!

Tout était absolument parfait, la maison est sublime, les jeunes qui travaillent là sont d’une gentillesse extraordinaire, ils ont tout fait pour que mon séjour soit un rêve et ils m’ont aidé à contacter différentes personnes afin de m’aider à retrouver mon bagage perdu en transit. La literie est super, le petit déjeuner juste Whaou. Je reviendrai très bientôt merci pour tout.

My favourite place to stay in Nepal. The rooms are comfortable and authentic. Bed is so so comfy! There is some street noise, but the hotel provided us with ear plugs and that did the trick! I will definitely be coming back here

Stunning heritage house, staff very welcoming. I absolutely recommend!

There is a new wing and an old one. Both are charming but the new wing is more comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The breakfast options are broad and delicious. The location is in a fun, old part of town. Good restaurants nearby.

The location was difficult for taxis to find it sometimes.

Die Lage, die gemütlichen Zimmer, funktionierende Armaturen mit Heisswasser

Die tiefliegenden Deckenbalken reichen bis ca. 1,64 cm. Für mich kein Problem. Wichtig ist das allerdings für Leute, die grösser als 164 cm sind. Kopfwunden sind üblich. Das Thema sollte man bei der Beschreibung der Zimmer unbedingt erwähnen.

The building is so beautiful, you feel like you have gone back in time. So comfy and feels very special staying in a historic Newari building. The staff are very lovely and super attentive. Honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed!

Très bel hôtel propre, confortable dans un cadre fantastique avec un personnel adorable.

Le seul défaut est le bruit de la rue que l'on entend comme si on y était, dommage, sinon tout le reste est parfait.

Questo hotel è semplice spettacolare, soggiornare in una casa tradizionale nepalese è stata un'esperienza unica. I pavimenti di stuoia intrecciati, i letti a terra tradizionali e il salottino fatto di cuscini. Senza dimenticare però un bagno moderno completamente nuovo. Il patio dove si può fare colazione e riposare è bellissimo. La mia stanza era enorme e comprendeva due locali, una zona notte e un salotto, oltre al bagno.

L'unica cosa, che per me non è stata un problema perché sono alta 163 cm, ma che per molte altre persone potrebbe essere un disagio, è l'altezza dei soffitti (al massimo 165 cm).

La particolarità architettonica in stile locale. Un’oasi di pace a due passi dal caos del distretto.

Sinceramente ho apprezzato tutto, in primis la gentilezza del personale. Quello che posso segnalare è che i soffitti sono bassi (1,65 cm o giù di lì) ma questa caratteristica fa parte della tradizione per cui è una scelta di chi viaggia accettarla o meno.

It really was like stepping back in time! They've done a fantastic job renovating here, with original features alongside all the modern day comforts you need. Comfy beds and love that there's lots of warm adjustable lighting in the room to make it extra cosy in the evening. Extra touches such as traditional slippers in the room appreciated too. I had a seating area in the room to chill out, but there are also plenty of communal seating areas inside as well as in the courtyard/garden to relax after a hectic day out. Location wise it was perfect, right near Patan Durbar Square, nice restaurants etc, and much quicker than I thought to get to airport too. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and were all so friendly. Just wish I'd been staying longer!

This property was beyond beautiful, one of the coolest places I’ve stayed and I’ve stayed at a lot of places!!! The Newari architecture and rooms were so special. The location was great, the staff were so kind and accommodating, bed was super comfortable. All in all a great experience!

Un cadre superbe, bien mis en valeur et bien entretenu. Emplacement idéal pour visiter la ville. Personnel très gentil.

Le système des petits déjeuners est contraignant car peu flexible (il faut décider de l’heure en remplissant une fiche chaque soir, et le service ne commence qu’à 8h).

L'hotel si trova in un edificio storico bellissimo, in una posizione perfetta per visitare la città. Ho chiesto aiuto allo staff per prenotare autista + guida per delle escursioni nella valle e, oltre che a essere super disponibili, mi hanno fatto delle quotazioni che si sono poi rivelate di molto migliori rispetto a quelle richieste a Kathmandu, tanto che alla fine ho prenotato tutto con loro, anche per i giorni in cui non soggiornavo più a Patan. La camera era bellissima e la colazione molto molto buona. Albergo consigliatissimo!

La struttura è incantevole, emana storia da tutte le pareti. È un’esperienza a 360 gradi!

Sa simplicité belle, de très bon goût et la gentillesse de l’accueil. La propreté est très appréciable. Il n’a pas de luxe ostentatoire, juste ce qu’il faut pour être bien. Ce qui nous importe le plus c’est l’engagement de jeunes qui sortent de l’orphelinat et trouvent un travail . Le côté social est primordial pour nous.

Ottima posizione, camera spaziosa e pulita, staff molto gentile. Abbiamo dovuto lasciare la struttura prima del previsto e ci sono venuti incontro facendoci pagare solo parte del soggiorno.

Troppo rumore proveniente dalla strada (la struttura del resto è storica e capisco che non sia facile gestire il problema). Consiglio solo per una una notte. Colazione su ordinazione ma in generale piuttosto scarsa nelle porzioni e con poca varietà.

Fabulous historic house in old quarter of Patan. Something really magical about this place. And - you really feel whisked back in time. Super clean. Super professional.

Our room overlooked the Main Street it was noisy with motorbikes & dogs TBH can happen anywhere in towns in Nepal. I used ear plugs so was fine.

Petit bémol. Le bruit de la rue est très présent dans la chambre le matin. Une meilleure étanchéité des fenêtres serait un plus. Mais cela reste un beau séjour et ce type d’initiative est à encourager

My room was well planned I loved the window seat and the bed was very comfortable

I was initially disappointed not to have a room in the old house but soon realised the standard of the new rooms was too good to miss.

La beauté du lieu, sa localisation, l'équipe et l'accueil. Le confort, la simplicité et le charme. c'est vraiment une adresse à recommander.

Great welcoming and warmth of the communication. Comfy bedding and overall very clean. Pick the breakfast it was truly good. The charm of this place in the old town is something not common for Kathmandu !

The height of ceiling in rooms :) though being a true historical legacy in Newar houses. Hard to stand up straight when you are above 1,70m. But don't get me wrong that was fun and source of many jokes even with other guests.

Ancient traditional building

No air conditioning and too many different random light switches making it difficult to navigate the room. Also electrical outlets were substandard and difficult to work. The fan in the room did not function properly.

The hotel is very well maintained and very clean. The staffs are super helpful.

It is slightly noisy at night due to the location. So people who are sensitive with noise may consider bring a pair of earplugs.

Rooms to the street are rather loud

The staff are so extremely friendly and helpful. Many of them are college students who get training and experience here. The hotel is a social enterprise which supports the local community and trains the next generation of Nepal. The breakfast here is tasty and has many options. Obviously the old buildings and courtyard are lovely. You have options to stay in the original old building or the new building with more space and modern facilities. I think both are very nice.

It's in a very noisy area. The nearby streets are always busy, and the hotel is merely two meters away from other houses. The windows are not soundproof and you'd hear dogs, pigeons, motorcycles, cars, neighbors, etc, day and night. If you are a light sleeper, it may not be pleasant for you.

Amazing location, so close to Durbar Square of Patan. It's literally a straight line walk along the road outside the entrance. Heritage house is very authentic and charming.

Low ceiling will make it hard for anyone taller than me. I am short at 5'8 and my head was at the ceiling and I was constantly ducking or bowing.

The atmosphere of a superbly restored historic property. Rooms were intimate and bathroom renovations were tasteful and of a good standard. Staff friendly and helpful . Garden and courtyard was beautiful.

I loved the authenticity of the structure and setting. It deserves the historical designation that it has received. The staff went out of their way to be accommodating to our needs. Newa Chen seved us as a place to rest and recuperate from our trip to Mustang.

The beds are a bit low to the floor...authentic, but somewhat difficult for me to get out of bed.

This is a beautiful property and breakfast was good and very pleasant to have in the courtyard.

The room is very modern, so it wasn't the same old historic feel that I got in other hotels in the older parts of town.

I loved how quiet, clean and authentic this lovely guest house was, perfect for my first stay in Patan. My room had clearly been recently refurbished so it felt extra comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spotless. It took a while to get used to the low ceilings - tall people beware! The property is very close to the main attractions in Patan - perfect for popping back for a rest during the day.
