Cat Ba Rustic Homestay

It was a lovely bungalow with a nice pool in the front and a nice view in the back. Linh is a very friendly and lovely host. So is the whole family. We felt really at home and had good conversations and learnt a lot about Vietnamese daily life. I would really recommend this place if you want to stay a bit outside the town, but with a bus-stop right outside the door.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli avec de la nourriture et le thé traditionnel, personnel très agréable et disponible vraiment appréciable! La piscine au milieu des logements était très bien nous avions vue depuis notre chambre sur les champs. Nous avons fait laver notre linge moyennant un supplément et un service de taxi est honoré par les propriétaires en cas de besoin. Nous avons aussi pu louer un scooter sur place

Il n'y avait pas de serviettes car il fallait payer un supplément, la salle de bain comprend le WC c'est un peu petit Le logement est situé en bord de route principal mais nous n'avons pas été impacté par le bruit. Il manquait une bouilloire dans la chambre ce qui aurait pu la rendre plus agréable encore.

La chambre est confortable et propre, petite piscine, disponibilité du personnel qui peut vous organiser les activités à faire, la nourriture. Tout est super !

Peut être un peu éloigné de la ville, il faut un scooter pour s’y rendre mais le logement en loue.

I had a great stay at Rustic. The owners are so nice and helpful, I enjoy spenidng with all the family. The room was confortable with functionning shower. Walls are thin so you hear a bit the noise from outside. Motorbike are available, a bit old but works perfectly

Nackdelen var att jag bokat bungalow och den låg vid Poolen ingen stans att sitta utanför rummet. Det blev också störande när det kom massor av barn och invaderade poolen.

Alles war super! Besonders gut hat mir der Pool gefallen. Habe ich leider bei unserem ersten Aufenthalt/ Bewertung als negativ bewertet, war ein Versehen. Der Pool ist sehr gut gepflegt, wie auch der Rest der kleinen Anlage. Die Besitzerin ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit!

Die Unterkunft war super toll. Man war mit dem Roller innerhalb von 10 min in der Stadt. Die Leute dort waren super nett und auch das Personal war sooo freundlich und lieb. Würden immer wieder kommen!!!

El desayuno está incluido y está muy rico. Lugar tranquilo y agradable. Lili, la chica que lo lleva está súper pendiente, te aconseja sobre todas las cosas, tienen motos para alquilar y nos facilitaron tanto excursiones como el bus de vuelta, recogiendo os todo en el hotel. Muy recomendable.

Linh is super aardig, spreekt goed Engels en helpt met alles! Bustickets naar Hanoi via haar geregeld. Scooters te huur bij de homestay. Heel lekker ontbijt, de lekkerste omelet die wij hebben gehad tijdens onze reis. Ook het overige eten dat je hier kunt bestellen is erg lekker. Lekker bed, comfortabel matras.

De douche is wat onhandig ingedeeld, misschien is een vloertrekker handig. Dan is na het douchen niet de hele badkamer nat. Je hoort de geluiden van de straat wel, maar ‘s avonds valt het mee met de hoeveelheid auto’s Gordijnen niet verduisterend

Wir waren drei Nächte im Cat Ba Rustic Homestay bei Linh und ihrer Familie. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und hatten eine gute Zeit dort mit tollem Service und Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt. Wir haben spontan unseren Aufenthalt für eine Nacht verlängert. Wir wurden rundum versorgt und konnten nach unseren Ausflügen tagsüber ein leckeres Abendessen bekommen. Linh hat sich um alles gekümmert, wir konnten einen Roller mieten und sie hat sich darum gekümmert, dass unsere Wäsche gewaschen wird. Unser Doppelzimmer war absolut in Ordnung für unsere Reise. Am besten hat uns gefallen, dass wir nicht direkt in der Stadt gewohnt haben, sondern etwas außerhalb. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick auf das Feld hinter dem Haus mit Kühen und seitlich das Meer. Aber es ist definitiv ein Roller nötig, um von A nach B zu kommen, wichtig zu beachten bei Buchungen. Wir würden die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

Le bruit de la route.

Manchmal ist es schwer in Vietnam die Bewertungen zu verstehen, da oft einfach alles mit super gut bewertet wird. Hier war das aber anders, es war wirklich SUPER. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt 2 mal verlängert. Das liegt garnicht an etwas ganz bestimmten, es war einfach ein Ort an den man sich wohlgefühlt hat. Es ist circa 20 min mit dem Roller von der Stadt entfernt, das ist perfekt, vor allem wenn man kein Party Tourismus betreibt. Es gibt direkt gegenüber eine Bar, wo man einfach essen essen kann und gutes Bier trinken kann. Deswegen muss man garnicht unbedingt jeden Abend in die Stadt! Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Großen Haus, mit zwei Betten , in der oberen Etage. Das Kann ich wirklich sehr empfehlen, man hat Privatsphäre, viel Platz, es gibt auch einen großen Balkon/Terasse - für alle zugänglich, ausreichend Platz zum Yoga machen. Die Hütten unten sind eng am Pool gebaut, dazu habe ich keine Erfahrung. Es scheint wie eine normale Unterkunft, aber aus irgend einen Grund fühlt man sich wohl und bleibt gerne Länger. Das liegt sicherlich nicht zu letzt an der super netten und authentischen Besitzerin und ihren Kindern. Zum frühstück gibt es Pancakes oder Baguette. Es gibt wenige Meter einen Strand, er ist zwar vermüllt, aber trotzdem schön. Man kann super spazieren und tolle Muscheln entdecken. Der Bus den man von Der Fähre aus nehmen kann hält fast genau vor dem Homestay. Es befindet sich zwar eine Straße direkt vor dem Homestay, aber die Betten sind weit genug davon entfernt. Dies ist eine ehrlich gemeinte Emfpehlung.

Linh was a great host, very friendly and made us feel comfortable straight away. We were glad to be staying in a quieter area of the island. The banana pancakes were great, thank you!

If you don’t want to stay in town and you prefer a quiet and less crowded area, this homestay is perfect for you. The host is very helpful for recommandations and tours and always open for a talk. You can easily rent a motorbike at the homestay, which you need for driving around at the Island cause the house is in a smaller village. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Ganz tolle Unterkunft, sehr herzliche Gastgeberin!

On s’y sent comme à la maison ! Jolie petite homestay arborée de bougainvilliers, la piscine toujours propre, est un vrai plus. Le chambres sont propres et spacieuses, le petit déjeuner copieux. Linh est juste adorable ! Elle saura vous accueillir chaleureusement et vous donner de précieux conseils pour les visites.

La dueña es un encanto y las casitas son super bonitas, la nuestra tenía vistas a la montaña de atrás en la ventana interior. Limpio y cómodo. El sitio es encantador. El perrito bingo es super gracioso.

Linh and her family were fantastic hosts. Linh organised our boat cruises, taxis into town and to the national park (her father), as well as our transfers from Haiphong and to Hanoi. The location was peaceful, the accommodation comfortable, with good air conditioning and a hot shower. Breakfast was lovely — my children especially enjoyed the mango and banana pancakes. We only stayed for three nights out of our 11 in Vietnam and looking back, the only thing we would have done differently would be to spend an extra night on Cat Ba and one less in Ho Chi Minh City.

Everything! Linh and her family were very welcoming and helpful. Her English is amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight here. We were made to feel part of the family and looked after in every way. The location is quiet which suited our family perfectly. The food is delicious, rooms are clean and homely, swimming pool is lovely, we didn't want to leave. If we return to Vietnam in future we will be staying here again.

La pulizia migliorabile

Il posto è molto carino, con una bella piscina, le stanze sono pulite e dotate di aria condizionata. Linh, la proprietaria, è stata sempre gentile e disponibile. La colazione è buona e si trova in una zona di Cat Ba un po' più tranquilla, pur avendo almeno tre posti vicini in cui poter mangiare e un alimentari. La struttura offre diversi servizi, si può affittare il motorino a prezzi più che economici e spostarsi facilmente in qualunque zona dell'isola. Inoltre abbiamo organizzato tramite loro una gita in barca nella baia di Lan Ha e il viaggio di ritorno ad Hanoi, tutto impeccabile! Consigliatissimo!

Super établissement où l’on se sent à l’aise. Les gérants sont adorables et prêts à aider pour tout. Chambre et piscine très agréables. Au calme tout en restant proche de tout en scooter (possibilité d’en louer). Je recommande vivement d’y séjourner.

Linh ist sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und sehr nett, sie ist die Seele des Hauses. Sie organisiert Touren und ist äußerst hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war zum auswählen mit einem Getränk, die Pancakes sind sehr gut.

Es liegt etwas außerhalb, an der Hauptstraße nach Cat Ba Stadt. Wenn es viel regnet, tropft es etwas in den Bungalow

Gezellige Homestay op een rustige plek. Lyn is een superlieve, relaxte en behulpzame host die bovendien goed Engels spreekt. De kamers zijn basic maar netjes en goed voor de prijs. Dank je wel lyn en familie voor de gastvrijheid ;-)

A great view of the pastures and mountains. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment at the back of the homestay to go running in the mornings. The pool was great to cool off in. Really convenient to have a scooter for rent at the property.

Linh is a sweet, kind and straightforward host. The place is well located for trips around Cat Ba. Note that the main town of Cat Ba is undergoing a major expansion of hotels and housing (April 2024). Linh's place is located on the main road to the town.

Ling and her family were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the pool was a fantastic. They offer a taxi service. Ling can help you with tours and all the local bus routes. We had a great time at Cat Ba Rustic Homestay and would recommend it to anyone staying on Cat Ba Island.

Ling, who is the main communicator, is a lovely woman who went out of her way to be helpful, especially after I got food poisoning on a cruise. Her husband and two beautiful boys were a delight to be around. They shared family food at no charge and were sincerely concerned about my well being. All the facilities were clean and functional. The only issue was the proximity to a busy road, but the noise died after 10pm. Price was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at this location.

Lovely little home stay on the out skirts of Cat Ba. Our host Lyn was great, excellent English, gave us good advice on trips and booked them up for us. Beautiful family and great service on all parts including motorbike hire and laundry 😁

We had such a good time here! The owner really is the sweetest person. It is a bit away from the center but you can easily get a grab or the local taxis. Our bungalow was really clean and super cute.

Linh makes this place. She is great, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. I can’t believe this place isn’t more crowded.

The location is a ways from town, so you will likely end up commuting back and forth for food and activities. It’s about 15 minutes each way. There are buses and Linh had scooters we rented for very cheap.

Linh was amazing, she helped us out by planning some really nice activities. Breakfast was very good, clean rooms and soft blankets. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this place to couples or friends who travel together.

Loved the property! The bungalows were super cute and the outdoor dining area was lovely. Linh supplied everything we needed and if we ever needed anything additional she was always happy to supply it.

Lovely host, she spoke good English, the breakfast was very good, mango and banana pancakes were amazing! The host organized bus for us and also helped us later on. Homestay is not in Cat Ba town, which is advantage because it is more relaxed area. With bar and restaurant across the street. But you can also eat in homestay. Rustic cabins look very lovely, also with a pool (but sadly water was too cold for swimming :(, in the summer must be good). Our window looked at the field with buffalos, which was very nice. We would stay here again!

Location is next to the main street, so there is traffic during the day, but at night is chill, we slept good. The water in the shower was not hot, not even warm, more like luke warm.

Absolutely lovely homestay with excellent, friendly hosts. This is such a relaxing, sweet place to be and we wish we had more time to enjoy. They have a restaurant onsite with lots of food options as well as a great bar/restaurant across the street with more options. The hosts truly care about their guests and helped us with some transportation hiccups which was over and above. A+++ for this homestay! Great value!

Amazing and caring host made us feel right at home. Linh with family and cute dog provides a real homestay experience in every extent of the word. Bus stop right outside makes the trip to Cat Ba town a piece of cake. Nice lounge area and pool to relax by. Wonderful value for money.

Not the greatest food or most pristine cleaning and our room wasn’t the most quiet but these are just tiny remarks on an overall great experience. Still slept very well.

Linh was an amazing host. From the first moment we arrived she helped us in every possible way. We rented a motorbike with her, she organized the bus leaving cat ba and also the tours on the island. Can recommend this place since it is also very quiet and cozy.

Linh and her family made us feel right at home, assisting with everything from motorbike rentals to booking an incredible kayaking trip and our bus back to Hanoi. Linh is incredibly resourceful and knowledgeable, always ready with the solution to any problem and plenty of helpful information. We can’t wait to return, and I highly recommend Rustic Homestay to anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful time on Cat Ba.

The place is clean and comfortable and it’s well located if you want to stay away from the busy town centre. In addition the host helps you with anything you might need. She told us how to get to the place, we rented a motorbike from them and we also booked a tour and our transfer back to mainland with them. We were so comfortable we ended up staying two more night than we planned.

The property was perfectly maintained and there was always someone there to help us out. Ling was a fantastic host and very helpful about tours and everything. The food was also fantastic and super tasty.

Everything - family, dog, accommodation, energy, food, swimming pool, scooters availability, laundry service. I love this place :)
