Schloss Schadau - Swiss Historic Hotel

Lage am See mit wunderschönem Park

This hotel was a one of kind experience, my husband and I loved it here. You literally get to stay in a beautiful historic castle! Our room was quite spacious and lovely with a great bathroom and views. Our windows looked out onto the lake. The breakfast and the dinner were outstanding. If you can only come here for the meals you will not be disappointed. The only complaint we had, although that feels like too strong a word, was that the windows did not have screens and it was warm when we came so a lot of bugs came in and some of them would bite if you swatted at them. Otherwise everything about this place was excellent.

Wunderschöner Ort, tolles Personal

Le personnel était très aimable. Le petit déjeuner très bon. La chambre no 3 était très moyenne, qui correspond à un 2*.

La chambre trop petit, un petit lavabo dans la chambre, une petite douche avec WC, une ventilation/ventilateur insuffisant, le tout correspond à un 2* !!!!

Gemütliche Terrasse mit sensationellem Panoramablick auf den, Schlosspark, den Thunersee und die ihn umgebenden Berge. Zuvorkommendes Personal. Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Bequeme Betten.

Sofern man etwas bemängeln will, ist es für mich das Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis in Bezug auf die Einrichtung unseres Zimmers (Nr. 4). Hier könnte ein Innenarchitekt auch unter Berücksichtigung der Heimatschutz-Aspekte wohl noch etwas herausholen.

Der Charme des Schlosses, wunderschön und stilgerecht. Die Parkanlage ist schlichtweg ein Traum. Die Zimmer waren äusserst sauber, die Betten bequem, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Schloss Schadau. Die Lage am See ist einmalig, das Schloss wurde sorgfältig restauriert und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Auch das Essen war super fein. Einfach top!

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir bekamen eine Etagere gefüllt mit Köstlichkeiten (Fleisch, Fisch, Käse) und durften Eierspeisen dazu bestellen. da ich keine Gluten und Laktose vertrage, erhielt ich Spezialbrötchen und den Cappuccino mit Hafermilch. Auch sonst war das Personal sehr aufmerksam und hat sich bemüht alle Wünsche möglich zu machen. Das Bad war gross und geräumig, besonders die Dusche.

Wir habe absolut nichts auszusetzen. Im Zimmer hatte es sogar einen Dysonlüfter, damit konnten wir die Temperatur im Zimmer herunterkühlen. für eine historische Lokalität ein super Service.

Having to walk to a different floor to get coffee, Tea or Water was less than desirable A Wedding party that went very loudly until 3.00am was also unacceptable and the staff didn’t care when the subject was raised

Die Lage ist fantastisch. Leider durch Ironman sehr überlastet und dem Preis entsprechend keine Privatsphäre.

Aussergewöhnliches Hotel, super tolle Lage.

Zimmer etwas spartanisch (Möglichkeiten, Sachen unterzubringen), allerdings passend zum historischen Schlosshotel.

Die Lage ist traumhaft; Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit für alles was man braucht; Die Zimmer sind schön und geräumig (Zimmer 1 war es bei uns); Frühstück ist ausreichend und es kann bei schönem Wetter draussen genossen werden; Definitiv ein Empfehlung für Thun!

Il n’y pas de cafetière dans la chambre et pas de climatisation .Pour une chambre a ce prix ce serait apprécié d'offrir ce type de confort aux clients.

le repas du soir et le petit déj. Le château, son emplacement face au lac, personnel aimable mais pas très expérimenté.

Ah, la Seestrasse fermée… une expérience inoubliable ! Accéder au château ? Mission impossible, sauf si vous aimez les amendes, la police et les sensations fortes. On se croirait dans un épisode de Mission: Impossible, mais sans Tom Cruise pour vous sauver. Le lendemain, c’est encore mieux : le château devient officiellement inaccessible en voiture privée. Du coup, parking à l’école hôtelière, à environ 1,2 km… petite balade sympa sur le papier. En réalité ? Avec un bébé, trois sacs (ou plutôt des valises déguisées), un bouquet de fleurs (anniversaire de ma femme oblige)… un véritable trek alpin. Et le personnel ? Surprise ! Personne n’était au courant que le château était inaccessible (oui oui, vraiment). Aucune aide proposée, aucun “on peut vous donner un coup de main ?”… rien. Le sens du service était visiblement en vacances. Cerise sur le gâteau : la facture de CHF 345.- pour la chambre… déjà payée via Booking.com le 24 avril. Même avec preuve à l’appui, on vous regarde comme si vous veniez d’inventer le concept du paiement en ligne… “normalement Booking ne peut pas débiter…” — ah bon ? Première nouvelle ! Et pour finir en beauté : deux bouteilles d’eau offertes pour la route. Très gentil… surtout quand on doit déjà porter un bébé, trois sacs, un bouquet… et marcher 1,2 km. Franchement, il ne manquait plus qu’un piano à queue. Conclusion : NUL. NUL. NUL. NUL. NUL. Mais au moins, ça fait une bonne histoire à raconter

das personal schien beim frühstück überfordert. leider konnten wir, bei wunderschönem wetter, nicht auf dem balkon/garten frühstücken ringhörig better eher klein

Mir hat die Aussicht auf den See besonders gut gefallen. Die Lage war gut und dann war auch schnell in Thun.

La vie de château

Die Lage ist fantastisch. Das Nachtessen und der Service waren vorzüglich. Das Früstück normal.

Das Abendessen war sehr gut, und auch das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Hervorragende Gastronomie und exzellenter Service.

Alles war wunderbar, aber es fehlte eine Badewanne in unserem Zimmer, damit es noch romantischer gewesen wäre.

The location is fantastic and the rooms are nice, big and comfortable. The team behind reception, at the restaurant and more generally at the property are lovely. The location of the hotel is stunning and the view from the restaurant and terrace breathtaking.

15min walk to Thun station but a bus outside the hotel so wasn’t an issue just so everyone is aware

Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Empfang, Personal sehr hilfsbereit und offen, fantastisches Frühstück. Das Ambiente des historischen Hotels direkt an See ist phänomenal. Obwohl es ein altes Gebäude ist und unser Zimmer Richtung Strasse lag, war es nachts sehr ruhig.

Beautiful interiors, atmospheric apartment. Wonderful surroundings. This is a truly unique place. The service staff was wonderful.

We had the perfect stay for our Christmas holiday! Although a 15 minute walk from town we loved the quiet and lakeside location. Our room had plenty of space with a sitting room which allowed whoever woke up earliest the freedom to be up without disturbing the later sleeper. The property is beautiful and well maintained and even offers a club room with hot drinks and water whenever needed. The breakfast was delicious and we really appreciated the efforts of the staff to accommodate my allergies and vegan lifestyle. I was not just stuck with bread and jam, but vegan "cheeses and meats" and plant based yogurt and milk. The restaurant did the same for dinner. The staff was amazing and their English is much better than our German. Don't hesitate to stay here!

The lift is confusing, but once you figure it out, it's fine!

L'endroit est magnifique. Tous les détails du château, sont beaux avec les boiseries, les peintures, les pierres taillées etc. Le restaurant gastronomique est très bon. La literie également. Tout était super.

Sehr schönes Hotel und sehr freundliches Personal. Der Pächter Roger Lehmann ist ein sehr toller Gastgeber, extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten die Suite Nr. 1. Sehr zu empfehlen. Abschliessend ein rieger Brunch! Mega.

Shower for handicapped access was awkward to use compared to the normal shower.

Wunderschöne Lage im Schlosspark direkt am See. Sehr freundliche Bedienung beim feinen Frühstück.

Zufahrt aufgrund einer Baustelle fast unmöglich. Weiter ist der Parkplatz ausserhalb des Schlossparks abgelegen und schlecht beleuchtet (muss im voraus sogar reserviert und bezahlt werden). Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Leider konnte auch der schöne Saal mit Sicht auf den See morgens nicht verwendet werden da er zu kalt sei.

Wonderful historical building, outstanding location by the gorgeous lake Thun. Very attentive and friendly staff. Very comfortable bedding and spacious airy room.

The breakfast could have more varieties.

Great meals here. I wish the rooms had better views of the lake, but they were amazing and the whole castle has a nice vibe. The staff is great and we really enjoyed our stay thought it was one night.
