I had a great time at this family-run guesthouse! Youssef and Adam are great hosts and totally not pushing to sell. The courtyard was very nice and relaxing, just what you need after the crowded eastbank. I organised my airballoon trip and drivers for the different valleys via Adam. I highly recommend. Thanks gents, it was a pleasure!
Lo staff molto accogliente e familiare
Friendly hosts, clean, comfortable beds, lots of hot water, plenty of tasty Egyptian food, quirky courtyard setting. Close to ferry, ideal for visiting archaeological sites. Hosts able to organise taxis, tours, activities etc. Friendly locals.
Overall happy, no major issues.
Place, atmosphere
Location was good; quiet; cute. Staff were great. Close to ferry and good food. Away from the hub-bub of East Bank.
A bit old and run down and the room smelled a bit of sewerage, but it was ok. I only slept and showered there so it didn’t really bother me.
This was an acceptable low cost place to sleep for a long layover.
It was very dusty in the room. The toilet did not have enough pressure to flush solids.
The staff is outgoing and very firendly. The rooms are big and clean. The possibility to pay by card or in cash (EGP, USD, EUR), as well as to conduct payment at any suitable time (not necessarily immediately upon arrival). The location is rather quiet and safe, very close to the tourist attractions and Nile river. Breakfasts can be taken away in case of early departure, their time can also be negotiated; a parking slot is also present. Definitely worth staying! :)
Very safe and a calm oasis from the excitement of Luxor and Thebes. Great courtyard area that has a mix of sun and shade to relax in. Located off the Main Street on the West Bank so a nice hum of activity but relaxing. Family run business so I felt like a member of the family and wider community for my stay. Highly recommend for especially for solo travelers.
Looking forward to seeing the upcoming guesthouse developments such as rooftop area. Wi-Fi is a wee bit slow but that’s Egypt. Morning cockerel calls are endearing.
location is just neighboring to the public ferry. the manager Josef is quite good, his father is also very helpful, breakfast is traditional Egyptian style and very yummy, made by his mother.
during our stay, we had some bathroom sewage problem.
Calm and peaceful
No breakfast available.
Good breakfast and lunch included in price, I loved the vegetables musaka. The owners are nice people, not pushy to sell you anything as usual, the restaurant garden is nice place to sit and rest.
The room was nice but a bit cold, there is no heating and I was staying in the coldest period of the year.
Nice, spacious and clean room, and a beautiful breakfast/restaurant area. The personal was very friendly and helpful in making our stay more enjoyable, as well as organizing tours and day activities. Also, the breakfast and dinner were very good. We felt welcomed and had an amazing stay
Location is great if you want a quiet stay in Luxor, very close to the public ferry and you can rent a bike from nearby store. It’s a great value for money and the room was very comfortable!
The toilet was quiet small and needed some care
Stayed 4 nights half board at this family run guest house. The house was on the westside of the river Nile. Much quitter, less hustle and bustle. Having phoned the guest house of my arrival time the day before, Ayub kindly picked me up from the ferry port which I crossed from the Eastside. The guest house was 10 mins walk away and easy to get to. Ayub was the person who looked after me. Served delicious breakfast and tasty dinner. He was friendly, knowledge and the 1st person of contact if you needed help or if there was a problem. The.room was comfortable with air condition, a balcony and ensuite. One of evening I was offered to have a meal at their restaurant located by the river which I accepted. Thanks to Adam (brother of Ayub) for looking after me. I also want to thank their mum on the odd occasion serving me breakfast. I highly recommend Sunflower Guest House for its welcoming pickup from the ferry port, it's quietness location, helpful family and I felt home.
Having travelled through Egypt the previous week, I had forgotten that the payment was to be made at the guest house. And remember payment is in dollars or English pounds and not Egyptian pounds.
I booked this room for one night but ended up staying for longer. I don’t know what’s the secret in that room but I slept for 12 hours 😴 I usually sleep for 7-8 hours but here I slept like a baby. It’s really safe especially for families and solo travelers, they close doors at 11 pm. WiFi is fast.
There is no lockbox in the room but I really felt I can keep my valuable belongings anywhere in the room.
it’s good the owner itself welcome me and his old and a wide man
only there’s alive cockroach i found
People who own and work at the place are amazing. Exceptional value for the price.
Location: very convenient for exploring the west bank temples as well as the East bank (5 mins walk to the ferry) Rooms: very comfortable beds and clean room. The facilities are quite new. There's a big garden.
Staff: It's a family guest house; the host Ahmed was not there most of the time; his father was managing the place instead. They are mostly friendly but oftentimes (especially early mornings) there's nobody available.
Helpful staff, nice on-premise restaurant, comfy room with the basics, and a good location for exploring all the Tombs out in the West via Taxi. Also liked the vibe of the neighborhood in general.
Room was a little cold during night time in February, but thankfully room had good blankets to keep me warm!
Generosity, they were so nice and friendly, the room was comfortable and overall we enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful guest house. Youssef and his venerable Father did everything they could to make my stay unforgettable. Very helpful, caring and with great sense of humor. Their restaurant serves delicious meals. Best place I stayed while in Egypt. Highly recommend.
The stuff and location, price is good
What I really appreciate was the thought and effort put in by all the family there. They really created a vibe and the food was the best I've had in egypt. Thank you for making me feel a part of your beautiful family.
Great location near the ferry, friendly and helpful staff, facilities in great condition, room was clean and comfortable. Wide variety of tasty food in the restaurant and would make dishes not on the menu upon request. Strong wi-fi connection. As an experienced traveller this was easily one of the best places I've stayed at!
To be honest, there's nothing I can point out
Very friendly and hospitable staff, if necessary, they offered to meet at the ferry. Very good location.
Everything about this property was fabulous. This is ideal for solo female traveler. Located away from the chaos of the touristy side of Luxor. Located in a small community of friends and family. Super safe, clean, and the Wi-Fi was the fastest I’ve had in Egypt❤️
It can get a little chilly during the winter but they provide extra blankets that are so warm you don’t even notice. At night if you want to sit outside. there’s always a fire going to keep you warm.
Great place with friendly staff
nothing
the owners are perfect hosts I would go back any time
no complains at all
The location, the design of the property, the staff.
The coldness of the rooms.
I stayed here last year, this was my second time. It is still an excellent place overall with the best value for money. Location is ideal, and the owner always made us feel very welcome. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, and food is tasty.
Nothing to dislike, a very nice place overall.
Big clean room, good food, good location. Rent a bike - the best option visit King of Valley
I really enjoyed to stay here!! The staff was very helpful and friendly
Almost everything, especially the staff
Nothing
Room was comfortable and a lot bigger than I had expected with sufficient facilities. Jalal and his son were extremely helpful in arranging excursions as well as my travel back to Cairo.
Room and bathroom could do with a bit of better decor but nothing major.
Yussif and his father are very helpful. They don't try to 'lead' your Egypt experience. The hostel is also in a quiet place, you can reach it by the ferry very comfortable. The few things I tried in the restaurant were very good, so I would recommend you to try some of the dishes.
The facilities are clean but somewhat dysfunctional by design. 1
Friendly honers! Nives room. Super location.
Great location near the public ferry, easy to go to east Bank. Quiet location. Owner Adam also offers local tour packages.
Location
Perfect for budget travel. The room was exactly what I expected for this kind of place in Egypt but the family who run it was wonderful and made the stay really exceptional. Very friendly and helpful without being pushy. Fantastic breakfast, and evening meals at the restaurant were really great!
Nothing. All great
