This is a lovely family hotel in the most idyllic location. Room was very large with several windows giving beautiful views all around. Directly across the road is the pool guests can use and access to the lake for swimming. The boat dock is less than 5 minutes walk away for boats across Lake Lucerne. Rooms were quiet, very comfortable and cool in the heat. Beds were comfy and the breakfast was excellent. Weggis is a gem and this is a great choice of hotel.

We booked dinner for two evenings well in advance. Both times we had to share the table with strangers. There was a small board between the tables, but in practice it was sharing the table with strangers. There is enough space in the restaurant to organize it a bit more comfortable

Magnifique bâtiment sur le lac, hôtel confortable, serviettes à disposition pour la piscine, accès au lac, chambre spacieuse, hôtel calme, restaurant terrasse sur le lac!

Malheureusement nous y sommes allés un lundi, restaurant fermé, pas de service bar, rien dans le frigo non plus, on nous préviens 2 jours avant que l'accueil sera fermé a 15h avec envoi code possible, heureusement nous sommes arrivés juste avant. Dame très gentille mais expéditive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. The facilities were excellent and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Loved the friendly vibe and the walk across the road to the outdoor restaurant, pool and spa.

Charming family-run hotel, which has been in the family for decades. It's very traditional, which is part of its attraction, and the family does a fantastic job of looking after you. The lakeside location is a big plus, but for me the five stars go to the dinner on the lakeside terrace: not only did we have a beautiful outlook, but the cooking was first-class - all hausgemacht.

Air conditioning in the room was a bit Heath-Robinson. We relied on the electric fan in the very hot weather, which worked well but was a bit noisy.

A lovely family hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Our family room was spacious and comfortable with a large private bathroom, two armchairs and a small balcony. We also had a useful little fridge and a kettle. From our windows, we had incredible views over stunning Lake Lucerne. Breakfast was adequate and tasty with a selection of fresh croissants, bread, cereal, cheese, cold meat and also eggs on request. The highlight of our stay was being able to cross the small, quiet road outside the hotel and get straight into the lake from the jetty to swim. Our children loved the free use of the hotel paddle boards, and we enjoyed using the hotel's small, shaded sunbed area next to the lake. The lake was clean and not too cold for swimming, though you are immediately out of your depth. We enjoyed swimming in the lake so much that we didn't even use the neighbouring hotel's swimming pool which is shared with Hotel Gotthard. The location is very convenient for the boat stop from Lucerne and a short walk from the cable-car up Mount Rigi. Weggis itself is peaceful with beautiful lakeside walks. The hotel gave clear information and let us know in advance that their pizza restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday. If you are on a budget, there is a COOP supermarket up the road and you can also order pizza to be delivered.

Everything in Switzerland was very expensive including eating at the hotel restaurant, but that is par for the course in Switzerland.

Wir hatten 10 sehr erholsame Tage in Weggis und Umgebung. Ein schönes Hotel mit einer top Lage direkt am See. Alles sauber und gepflegt. Die Gastgeber und das Personal immer aufmerksam und freundlich! Regionales Frühstück mit guter Auswahl, besonders lecker der Küssnachter Käse ;-) Für die Hotelgäste gibt es einen Bereich mit Liegen, Schirmen, Pool vom Nachbarhotel und zur freien Nutzung ein Kajak und mehrere SUP`s. Der Besuch des Seerestaurants ein Muss!

In unserem Bad gab es zu wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten. Ein kleines Regal wäre ganz praktisch

Classis Swiss hotel with a view to die for. The lake and the pool were fabulous. Our server Inez was even better than the food which was amazing. The grilled Pike was spectacular.

Местоположението на хотела е уникално, ресторантът на терасата предлага отлична кухня, персоналът е учтив. Бяхме приятно изненадани от климатика в стаята. Останахме с отлични впечатления и отново ще го посетим!

Zimmer: sehr sauber, hell. Ausgestattet mit Teekocher/Nespressomaschine inkl. Kapseln/Rahm etc. einfach toller Service! Frühstück: Ausgiebiges, vielfältiges Frühstücksbuffet mit sehr aufmerksamer Bedienung. Lage: Wenige Gehminuten von Schiffanlegestelle. Gartenrestaurant direkt am See. Hotel von Gartenrestaurant durch recht ruhige Strasse getrennt. Kein Problem für die Nachtruhe!

Sehr gutes Frühstück mit Birchermüsli, köstlichem Obst, Käse etc. Das Hotel hat einen eigenen Steg in den See, wir waren Schwimmen und konnten unkompliziert Standup-Boards ausleihen. Das Zimmer war tiptop sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff who issue a discount card for local attractions. Very good choices for breakfast including home made jams. Room was spotlessly clean with air conditioning. We had a large room to accommodate the three of us. There were also some UK tv channels.

Could have done with a few more tea bags and DeCaf ones but that was just personal preference.

Good access to the lake. Excellent parking solution. Very close to the steamboat ferry that goes around the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Good air conditioning for very warm days. The hotel restaurant across the street was worth the wait.

The lake access point could use some renovation and cleaning for marine growth, very slippery access. This particular area did not match the standard of the remainder of the hotel facilities.

The outdoor area had paddle boards, swimming pool and a Kajak and plenty of life vests. All of us including my 10 and 15 year old had so much fun on the lake. They have a lovely outdoor dining g space. Staff was great. Everything was so beautiful. We went on hike to the Rigi mountain area which is just behind the hotel. The hike starts with a cable ride from Weggis and we ended up taking the boat back home.

The hotel is in an excellent location in a beautiful area. Room was overlooking the lake and stunning views. Good shower and air conditioning in extreme heat was welcome. Helpful staff and lovely continental breakfast.

The property was lovely. However Switzerland is very expensive, more than we anticipated.

Die Freundlichkeit der Hoteliers, die Lage mit Blick auf den See! (Unbedingt mit Seeblick buchen! Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!) Das bezaubernde See-Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche ist ein Traum, man sitzt im Glück! Und darf auch noch gut essen dabei. Schwimmen im See (oder im Pool vom Nachbarhotel) ist das I-Tüpfelchen. Wir hatten einen leider zu kurzen, aber perfekten Aufenthalt und kommen bestimmt wieder! Die Natur und der See sind Glücksorte!

Het personeel beviel ons het meest. Altijd aangenaam en vriendelijk in de omgang. Het ontbijt is goed en het restaurant fantastisch. De locatie is er heel mooi.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am See mit Terrasse und Seeterrasse. Sehr freundliches Personal. Unser Zimmer war gut ausgestattet, sogar klimatisiert. Obwohl das Badezimmer schon einige Jahre alt sein muss, ist es außergewöhnlich sauber.

Ich möchte gar nicht kritisieren, weil dieses alte schöne und gut erhaltene Gebäude in einem sehr guten Pflegezustand ist. Wünschenswert wäre lediglich ein moderneres Zimmer.

Wir haben ein traumhaftes Wochenende mit Freunden verbracht, das Personal ist überaus freundlich und das Restaurant direkt am See hat eine hervorragende Küche. Der Tisch muss unbedingt vorher reserviert werden, da das Restaurant sehr gut gebucht ist. Kleiner Platz mit Liegestühlen und Seezugang und man bekommt dort auch Getränke serviert. Das Hotel hat Flair, fast wie ein altes Schlösschen - wir hatten die “ Turmzimmer” mit herrlicher Seesicht, tolle Badezimmer, Klimaanlage vorhanden.

Da gibt es wirklich nichts.

Sehr gepflegtes, wenn auch nicht mehr ganz neues Hotel mit traumhaftem Restaurant am See. Pool und Terrasse des benachbarten Hotels können mitgenutzt werden. Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich ruhig mit direkter Seelage.

Das Restaurant bietet leider kein Frühstück auf der See-Terrasse an. Die Zimmer haben keinen Balkon.

Ein super schönes, familiengeführtes nettes Hotel. Die Betreiber sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Zimmer, vor allen Dingen mit dem Mini Balkon und Blick auf dem See, sind ein Traum. Das Frühstück ist auch super – wir kommen gerne wieder. Hundefreundlich!

Lots of incredible amenities and welcoming staff

Amazing stay. Great location just a few mins walk from the boat, check in and out was easy. Room was clean, albeit a bit dated but not in any way that matters, comfortable beds and great shower pressure. Amazing view of the lake. Pool was awesome. Staff super kind. Breakfast perfect. I’ll come back soon.

We had just 1 night stay but I would definitely stay there again. The room looked even better than on the photo, the view from the window was gorgeous, the mattress was quite comfortable The best 2 parts about our stay was 1) a very delicious breakfast which was the best during our week trip in Switzerland, and 2) very welcoming staff. Staff is not even the right word because the hotel is a family owned and you can actually meet the owners and feel fully like a visiting friend and not a hotel guest. Thank you so much for everything!

Siamo arrivati alla sera in questo hotel storico e ci siamo subito sentiti a casa, mangiato bordo lago sotto gli alberi con la giornata che si spegneva e le luci che si accendevano dei paesini lontani. Una musica arrivava dalla piazza del paese ci allietava. Mangiato deliziosamente consiglio vivamente di mangiare qui...carne tenerissima, salse delicate, tutto buonissimo. Ottima colazione con un po' di tutto. Ottimi suggerimenti sulle gite da fare. Ci hanno dato due bici gratuitamente e siamo andati fino a Visnau lungolago super bello anche epr passeggiare, poi abbiamo preso la grimagliera per Rigi Kulm, con lo stesso bilgietto puoi scendere alla stazione intermedia dove ci sono le terme e tante bellissime passeggiate semplici.

Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Gute zentrale Lage, mit traumhaften Blick auf den See und die Berge. Matratzen waren bequem. Frühstück war hervorragend unter anderem mit frischen saisonalen Früchten, gutem schweizer Käse, hausgemachter Marmelade und verschiedenen Broten/Zopf/Gipfeli. Wir können das Hotel mit gutem Gewissen, weiter empfehlen.

Ich persönlich stehe nicht auf Spannteppiche in einem Hotelzimmer. Auf dem kleinen Balkon gab es einen vollen Aschenbecher von den Vorgängern. Wir haben auch auf der Terrasse am See zu Abend gegessen. Die Speisen vom Grill haben toll geschmeckt. Der Coupe Dänemark mit kalter Schokosauce und kristallisiertem Vanilleeis leider nicht. Würden aber wieder dort essen, da das Personal, die Lage und der Hauptgang toll waren. Auf die Nachspeisen kann man ja auch mal verzichten.

Das Hotel Gotthard ist ein top Hotel. Ich durfte früher einquecken und erhielt ein Üpgrade Zimmer. Sie haben mich mit meinem Namen angesprochen. Das Frühstück wird mit Liebe zubereitet.
