Excellent in every way if you are looking for accommodation in Beijing that has a very Chinese style rather that just another big international brand hotel. The staff are super helpful, knowledgeable and very kind.

The breakfast was excellent. We loved the choice at Toast, their mediterranean restaurant, and staff were also accommodating to special requests (an extra egg, additional coffee etc). Service in particular was warm and excellent, we mentioned in passing that we enjoyed the lapsang souchong tea in the room and were presented with a small tin of it as a takeaway gift when we checked out. We've been to Beijing many times before and usually stay in the CBD, but wanted to experience staying in a hutong area, and loved that The Orchid allowed us to do so. Very nice to be able to observe and experience local life and flavours.

Some parts of the room looked like they could do with a refresh. The decking in the toilet, as well as the wood surfaces in the kitchen and toilet had a bit of water damage.

It’s a really cosy, comfortable place that gives you “I’m at home” vibes. The staff is really committed to making sure you’re having a nice day, helpful with booking things, etc. Especially as it was my first time in China, this was like a warm bath.

The Orchid è un hotel situato nel bellissimo hutong di Bao Chao, a pochi passi dalla Torre del Tamburo e dalla Torre della Campana. Gestito dallo staff in maniera impeccabile, è la chiave di volta per poter vivere nel migliore dei modi una vera esperienza a Pechino, osservandone i tratti architettonici e stilistici che la rendono unica al mondo. La room garden in cui ho soggiornato per 9 notti era perfetta: grande, spaziosa, dotata di tutti i comfort: letto comodo con prese elettriche ad entrambi i lati, condizionatore, deumidificatore, armadio, ampio spazio con scrivania illuminata da una tettoia a vetro, bagno largo e doccia spaziosa. La televisione era molto grande ed erano presenti servizi streaming. La pulizia durante tutto il soggiorno è stata impeccabile. L'hotel mette in dotazione alle camere una bottiglia d'acqua e offre il refiller gratuito dell'acqua durante tutto il soggiorno. La bellezza dell'hotel è poi impareggiabile: sia la hall che la sala per la colazione e con il rooftop sono meravigliose. Ultima nota, lo staff: eccezionale, ogni componente. Preparato e socievole, sempre pronto a chiedere se avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. È stato sempre un piacere intrattenerci con loro, curiosi di sapere cosa avremmo fatto durante la giornata, pronti a darci consigli per migliorarci il soggiorno. Senza dimenticare i mici più belli del mondo, anche loro parte integrante dello staff! Assolutamente da provare se si decide di visitare questa splendida città.

The room vary clean and the bed very comfortable. The personnel of the hotel speaks fluent English which helps a lot. They were always available. We also loved the neighborhood. The hotel is located in a nice and tranquil Hutong, although full of great coffee shops and restaurants. We recommend this place

Cet hôtel est absolument délicieux - avec des chambres climatisées et ouvertes sur les jardins - offrant des terrasses et des services de restaurants - avec un choix entre les menus continentaux et cantonnais - avec un personnel aux petits soins pour le client. Il offre aussi des dégustations de thé avec une spécialiste qui fait goûter les crus, vous initie à la cérémonie du thé et offre même un choix de théières que vous pouvez acheter à des prix très modestes. L'espace de hutong avec ses cours intérieures est rafraichissant et aéré, un avantage en été. Bref je recommande cet hôtel sans aucune réserve.

Ons verblijf in The Orchid hotel was echt heel aangenaam. Wanneer je de straat in rijdt met de taxi, heb je geen idee dat je bij zo'n leuk hotel terecht komt. Het personeel is zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Het verblijf in een Hutong is een hele leuke manier om Beijing te ontdekken. In de buurt bevinden zich leuke authentieke restaurants.

A wonderful hidden fort full of style in one of the loveliest areas in Beijing. The room was stylish and had a beautiful skylight. The staff speaks perfect English and are very kind and helpful. We loved the décor and the cats.

Travelling with a 13 year old boy, we found the room a bit small, especially the bed, which was on a mezzanine and not very easy to reach. The bathroom had all the necessities but was lacking useful hangers and the sink was a bit small, leaving the area often wet.

It was really beautiful, nestled away right in the middle of the hutongs, in an amazing location to explore. The staff were fantastic and so friendly and gave us a good map to find all the hidden gems in the surrounding area.

Wir hatten einen ausgezeichneten Aufenthalt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Tolle Lage inmitten der Hutongs, leckeres Frühstück, saubere, wunderschöne Hotelanlage mit Dachterrasse und Restaurants.

Da wir zu dritt übernachteten, schlief eine Person auf der Schlafcouch, welche unbequem war.

Rundum ein super Hotel. Das Personal ist so nett und hilft überall wo sie können. Als wir früh zu einem Ausflug aufgebrochen sind, gab es für uns ein Frühstück take away. Das ist nicht selbstverständlich und war sehr lecker. Die Inhalte kommen alle aus der eigenen Bäckerei, welche sehr gut ist. Zudem ist das Hotel klein und mit ganz viel Liebe geführt und eingerichtet. Eine kleine Ruheoase. Die Lage ist super und das Viertel etwas ganz Besonderes! Es hat ganz viel gute Restaurants in der Nähe und das Hotel hat viele sehr gute Empfehlungen parat. Das Frühstück ist super, man hat die Möglichkeit zwischen einem westlichen oder chinesischen Frühstücksangebot zu wählen. Wir würden immer wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

J'ai testé la suite et la petite chambre. Les 2 sont plus que conformes aux normes et très bien aménagées avec goût. L'accueil est très soigné et personnalisé. Le concept hôtel et boutiques est très appréciable.

If you want to feel at home in Beijing that’s your place. Staff is fantastic, the architecture is traditional and super interesting. And two restaurants at the property make the stay super convenient.

Dit was ongetwijfeld de beste plek waar ik verbleven ben in Beijing. Ik ga in november weer voor een week en hoop dat iedereen die dit leest meteen boekt. Je zal geen spijt krijgen. De locatie, de bedden, de douches, het personeel, ik kan er niet over uit hoe fantastisch alles was!

I wish the staff at initial check-in would have mentioned the guided services, I.e., driver for Great Wall, plus other offerings. They were less expensive than the regularly offered day tours through well-known tour companies. Yes, some of them were listed on a small blackboard at reception, but it was not very visible and you had to be facing the right way to see it. The staff might just add to their welcome instructions that they have these offerings.

Outstanding staff, non touristy location, seriously great Mediterranean food at Toast for breakfast and dinner- we ate there every morning - and great Cantonese food. The hotel is in a series of very old courtyard houses equipped with modern but rustic rooms. We loved the neighborhood feel and immersion experience. We loved the staff and felt at home.

Amazing greeting from the host with tea made for us on arrival. Accommodation was super clean and comfortable. Felt truly traditional so was a great way to experience Beijing from.

This is an excellent place - including the warm welcome with tea and a very kind help to guide you in the area or to book a taxi. The place with the 2 restaurants, the bakery and the tea room in a traditional / modern architecture with gardens and terraces with a wonderful view on the roofs is wonderful. The lady who is delivering the tea ceremony and tasting is fantastic and you have the opportunity to buy tea and beautiful tea pottery at the same time for very reasonable prices. The room are perfect - particularly rooms with access to courtyard and green setting. Many thanks again and best wishes!

Alles sehr schön. Kleineres Hotel in den Baochao Hutongs. Man wohnt außer mit den Hotelgästen direkt bei den Pekingern.kleine Gassen, wunderbare Restaurants mit vielen chinesischen Spezialitäten. Die Mädels vom Hotel außerordentlich kompetent und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück besonders gut. Kein Büffet,sondern verschiedene fertige Teller für alle Geschmacksvariationen .ich glaube es gab 7 verschiedene. Das zugehörige China Restaurant auch perfekt.. Vieles fußläufig, aber Busse und Metro für weitere Strecken auch in der Nähe. Wiir hatten ein Zimmer mit Galerie.dort und unten sehr große komfortable Betten.

Un hotel che non ti aspetti. Incastonato nelle vie della città, un posto tutto da scoprire. Lo staff è professionale, preparato, disponibile , accogliente e sorridente. Il servizio di contatto con wechat è prezioso per non farti sentire disorientato. Una bellissima esperienza che ti fa sentire come a casa. Possibilità di trasferimenti, escursioni e attività. Ottima colazione.

Sarebbe stato utile un frigorifero per tenere le bevande al fresco.

La posizione è ottima, vicino a ristoranti e ad alcune attrazioni (Torre della campana, torre del tamburo, Lama Temple,…) che si possono raggiungere a piedi. Il quartiere nasce popolare, ma adesso è un mix di locali moderni e alla moda e posti ancora tradizionali. L’hotel di design che ha saputo mantenere lo spirito del luogo. Personale che parla fluentemente inglese e pronti ad aiutarti in qualsiasi occasione.

La colazione è un po’ scarna in entrambi i ristoranti (occidentale e cinese). Consiste in una bevanda calda, una fredda e un piatto da scegliere tra 5 o 6 proposte (le porzioni non sono particolarmente abbondanti, ma sono buone).

A localização do hotel é muito boa, perto de zonas com restauração e comércio. O metro fica a 5-7min a pé do hotel. Funcionários super simpáticos e prestáveis. Dois dias não conseguimos tomar o pequeno almoço no hotel, e providenciaram alimento para levarmos. Recomendo.

I stayed in this place only for one night, but if I have enough luck in life to visit Beijing again, I know where I will stay for sure! The Orchid hotel is located in old hutong, and design in the hotel is amazing - its mix of traditional Chinese architecture with modern, soft and cozy furnitures. I love that in the hotel was two restaurants, bar, bakery - breakfast was delicious. The thing I love the most was the balconies on the rooftop of the building - you’ve got amazing view from it on old buildings. The cosmetics in bathroom were nice quality! In the hotel there was a chance to have tea ceremony, unfortunately I did not have enough time to that, so if you looking for cool experience - you can find it in the hotel. Last but not least - the staff. All amazing ladies speak fluent English, so we got so many tips and recommendations from staff. The ladies were always nice, very polite and very, very helpful. Truly amazing people! The place maybe a little pricey, but it’s worth the price!

El hotel está ubicado en un Hutong,esto es una calle muy angosta y de difícil acceso, los vehículos entran con dificultad por lo que dificulta un poco el transporte.

Great service and a unique property, more like a cozy Airbnb than a hotel (kitchen, etc). The staff is super helpful and friendly and worked hard to make my stay great, like getting an early breakfast packed before sightseeing and making sure my laundry was done promptly before I left.

I generally liked the place even thought the layout is a little strange, i.e. you have to walk across a road to get to your room. The breakfast was good, but again somewhat unique with its pan-Euro-Israeli offerings. I tried the Cantonese place the day I arrive and it was decent.

The location is superb, the staff are excellent as is the food in the restaurant.

We choose a room with an internal staircase to the bedroom. This was an error, the stairs are steep and the head height in the bedroom is limited by a sloping roof. Thankfully we asked for a change of room and the staff were very helpful and accommodated us.

Ett lugnt område i en pulserande stad. Var som att komma till en lugn oas att hämta andan i efter en dag strosande i Peking. Vi hade litet men perfekt rum med en säng en trappa upp och liten sittplats under och det passa våra behov perfekt. Personalen är otroligt trevlig och hjälpsam. Känns gemytligt och ärligt, inte alls turistigt! Sov jättebra i deras säng! Frukosten var väldigt god och fanns många alternativ på menyn.

Kanske är rummet kändes lite lite fuktigt men det är nog inte hotellets fel utan så är bara klimatet och området. Som andra skrivit om hotellet så går det att höra lite från andra in till rummet, men med tanke på hur gammalt området är så gör det inget. Vaknar man väldigt väldigt lätt vid ljud så rekommenderas öronproppar.

The Garden room was spacious but after some time I was missing having actual windows; the skylight is great but not something I'm a fan of, I've discovered. Despite this tiny detail (which anyway is personal preference) we had a truly amazing time!

Amazing location to visit Beijing for the first time. You get to experience sleeping in a real courtyard Hutong. The two restaurants you can choose for breakfast are delicious. And the staff was super helpful to choose the itinerary for each day and what to eat. Would stay with here again when I visit Beijing again!

It was a comfortable oasis in the middle of a hectic section of Beijing. My room was cozy and the breakfast at the Middle Eastern restaurant on the property was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English really well.

With a small 5 year old child sometimes it's difficult to find food, there is one nice sandwitch place on the spot but was opened for one day before going to renovation.

Я бы утеплила дверь, чтобы не дуло внизу из нее и чтобы не слышно было соседей во дворе, когда ты в номере. И тогда было бы тепло в номере и не нужно было бы включать кондиционер на тепло (он очень сушит кожу и слизистую носа). Поставила бы масляную батарею вместо кондиционера и в ванной полотенцесушило, которое греет , лучше установить.

Beautiful hotel in the Hutongs. This is the best location to really experience Beijing and wander through the Hutongs and experience how people live. The hotel itself is like a gold nugget hidden away off a little lane way. The food is amazing and the restaurant Toast offers mouth watering food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are so attentive and sitting in the reception area with the lovely Late each afternoon tasting all of the teas is an experience in itself. The two resident cats are delightful. We could not have loved our stay more and are so grateful we came across the Orchid Hotel.

Tuve una excelente estadía en el The Orchid Hotel - Old Town & Drum Tower. Está muy bien ubicado y el personal fue increíblemente amable; nos ayudaron en todo momento, incluso con la gestión del transporte al aeropuerto. Además, el restaurante del segundo piso es totalmente recomendable: la comida es deliciosa y la experiencia en general fue muy buena.

The hotel was in the heart of the Baochen hutong and the everyday life of the locals. I was so glad to choose this place as it was a unique find and every member of staff so welcoming and helpful. The breakfast at toast was yummy and the beautiful cats an extra bonus. Room 9 where we stayed had a projector and 100 of movies to watch.

A very minor issue was the noise from the street of just daily life.

Everything! This is a wonderful hotel where the staff actually cares about its guests. The rooms were nicely decorated and the location in the hutongs was a great way to begin our trip inside historical Beijing. The staff gave ys excellent advice and were extremely helpful with all our questions. I would come back and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing.

Amazing location - would stay here again for sure, stunning hotel, really clean ! The staff were super helpful, offered to arrange tickets for tiananmen square/forbidden city, let us keep our suitcases while we went to the great wall. Would recommend Mr Shi's dumplings down the road
