The place looks amazing in the pictures, but the reality is different. it's difficult to get there, far from the city the taxi was 25000. The window from the room is towards the garden so you have to stay with the curtains on if you don't want people to see you from outside so the room is very dark. There was no Netflix or anything on the TV, just old fashioned cable TV no one uses anymore. In the pictures you see people in the pool with a cocktail in their hand. We ordered some but they said we can't have them in the pool, I said it was in the pictures and the guy said yes, it's just for advertising. I call this fake advertising. Why do it for the foto if it's not allowed?

The place is located in a beautiful and pleasant landscape., well maintained and spectacular views. Reviewed Aug 11, 2025A 10min de san Gil, c’est un petit hôtel d’une dizaine de chambres, situé dans les hauteurs loin de la route. Un petit havre de paix. L’eau de la piscine est bonne. La vue superbe sur les montagnes. Le restaurant est correct, plutôt cuisine internationale. Les chambres sont spacieuses, simples et propres. Il faut prendre un taxi pour aller à San Gil et de là, faire des excursions. Le personnel est adorable et toujours prêts à nous aider. On y est resté 7 nuits et ne nous sommes pas lassés de ce lieu. Il faut dire que l’on avait l’hôtel pour. Pis tout seul pendant 4 jours. Ils ont aussi 2 belles suites qui donnent sur la montagne avec un mini bassin privatif.
Le service au restaurant est un peu long. Et ferme tôt : dernière commande à 19h30. Le bar ferme à 21h.

Reviewed Jan 22, 2025We originally stayed at the hotel one night but enjoyed it so much that we returned for a second. The hotel is conveniently located just outside of San Gil. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had hot water which is a great bonus when traveling in the more rural areas. The food was excellent and affordable. We want to thank Mauricio who made us feel like home and made our stay very enjoyable.
The road to reach the hotel is quite steep and when we visited there was a pothole that made it a bit challenging with a small car but after a few tries we succeeded.

We had the suite with private pool and enjoyed it very much. The pool even has a heater. Thank you to Mauricio and everyone else for the great time. If you need a tour guide around, make sure to ask for Herwin!

Nothing really. Just to note that the hotel is in the hills up a steep road and there are no amenities nearby. 5km to San Gil. Owner can arrange car/driver and taxis easily, however. Day trip to Barichara, including driver waiting most of the day for just 40,000 COP.

Reviewed Feb 21, 2023This hotel is a such a hidden gem! It’s tucked away yet very open to a gorgeous view. I originally planned to stay in Cartagena for my first time in Colombia but I took a chance and booked here in the Santander area. When I arrived I was greeted and given a tour. I could tell that a great amount of planning went into setting up the suite. The lighting, fixtures, and every detail you could think of was luxurious. There was wifi, a loaded minibar, rainfall shower, remote control AC, smart tv, and this super cool kettle for tea & coffee lovers like myself:) I was able to work remotely on my laptop and relax by the private pool at my leisure. This hotel is as close to heaven as you will ever get. The service from every staff member was 5-stars and everyone I encountered here was kind, helpful, and attentive. Housekeeping was very thorough and did a great job keeping the room clean everyday. The food was great as well, they have an extensive menu with a large variety of options. My personal favorites were the tamales, mojarra fritas, empanaditas, filet mignon, and the santanderean arepas are so good. With private transportation, it took about 3 hours to get to the hotel from the Bucaramanga airport but the long ride was well worth it. I would not risk driving myself as the roads have a lot of twist and sharp turns at high elevations. I do not speak spanish very well but I felt comfortable, safe, and valued as a guest here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a peaceful vacation or even a change of scenery.

Reviewed Jan 7, 2023I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to change my arrival dates without hesitation. They provided clear directions to the hotel and ensured that I could find my way safely and efficiently from the Bucaramanga airport. A delayed flight and long drive meant that I arrived late, tired, and hungry. Hotel staff greeted me and carried my bags into a beautiful, spacious, and elegantly decorated room. The hotel kitchen had already closed but they prepared me a delicious dinner and drinks. The king size bed is extremely comfortable with soft, high quality linens. The room has large windows and doors that open onto a private patio/plunge pool. It has remote controlled black-out shades that allowed me to sleep late. Each morning I opened the shades and windows to a lovely view across the hills; sunlight; birdsong; and a completely private patio, pool and sitting area. I enjoyed delicious breakfasts in an open air dinning area. The menu offers many breakfast choices as well as lunch and dinner options (a well-prepared, tender steak and a burger and fries were among my favorites). The owners (who speak English), and their staff took excellent care of me. They provided helpful information about where to go and what to see. I returned every day to a clean room, a made bed, and fresh towels. The owners and staff were sincerely pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. There is a second swimming pool shared by all of the guests that is a relaxing place to hang out and just large enough for lap swimming. Being outside of San Gil allows access to all of the same activities without the noise and pollution. The hotel is a reasonable driving distance to sights and places of interest and it offers a safe, well-lit, free parking area. My favorite activities included: Barichara and the hike from there to Guane; Curti and the nearby river and waterfalls, El Paraiso. The hotel is so pleasant and relaxing that I extended my stay.

The jacuzzi shown in the pics was empty and the pool is cold, so we had nothing to do. The answer to our question of why, was because it was too expensive to keep it running. The bathroom in my room had a really strong toilet odor/desinfectant that invaded the whole room and made me nauseous. The rooms do not even have a night lamp, I had to order one.
