Jane and Filipe run this place with passion. I absolutely loved my stay here. I wished I had more tine to stay longer. Itt is an amazing place for unwinding. Jane is a phantastic host and cook!!! Thank you for great conversations and thanks for your good energy.

Se sienten como estar en la casa, muy familiar fue perfecto para el plan de familia que queríamos, mis hijos se sintieron con en la finca del tío…no era como un hotel distante sino muy familiar, tranquilo…necesitaba recargar energía y es perfecto para desconectar del afán y conectar con la esencia …la naturaleza, la familia.

Beautiful views especially the sunset. Jane makes this place really special. Super friendly and helpful if we needed help. The kitchen is perfectly equipment. We would come again. Thanks for everything.

El lugar está ubicado a unos minutos de San Gil, apartado del ruido y con una vista excepcional. Las habitaciones son amplias, pero lo mas increíble de este hospedaje es la atención inigualable de sus anfitriones Jane y Felipe, quienes se esmeran desde la llegada en cada detalle y brindan una comida como ellos dicen “hecha con amor” la mas deliciosa que he probado. El lugar esta cargado de alegría y mucho amor! Es un lugar ideal para descansar y recargar energía!

La nourriture est incroyable! À partir de l’établissement, il est possible de faire une randonnée de 2h pour se rendre à curiti. Le centre ville de San Gil n’est pas si charmant comparé à l’emplacement de la Hacienda. Vous ne regretterez pas de rester là-bas. Ils sont d’une gentillesse inégalée et sont toujours prêts à donner des conseils. Vraiment un des meilleurs hébergements de ma vie! On s’y sent bien!

Jane and Felipe are the best. Kind and welcoming.Arranged a taxi pickup from terminal and another when I was leaving at a fair price with their preferred drivers. Meals were delicious. Best were comfy. Free all day coffee and fresh bread in the morning. Cats and dogs were wonderful. Away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for a recharge. Property is lovely, fresh mandarins right from the tree.

It's aways out from town. Personally not a negative for me, but maybe for others.

L'endroit est magnifique, calme, relaxant. Jane et Felipe sont adorables et très prévenants ! On a beaucoup ri avec eux et avons passé un super séjour. On aurait aimé rester encore plus longtemps !

Es una excelente casa a las afueras de San Gil Jean y Felipe son unos grandes anfitriones recomiendo la pizza y el pan que preparan ellos. Volveremos otra vez.

La atención es maravillosa, siempre atentos a lo que necesitábamos. Su comida es deliciosa, la vista es hermosa, muy recomendado.

La atención y actitud de Jane (el alma del hospedaje) y su esposo Felipe (creador de pizza) es excepcional, el desayuno es muy rico y el lugar es muy tranquilo para desconectarse de la vida citadina. P.D. es un sitio campestre retirado del mundanal ruido, solo se escucha en el amanecer el canto de las aves y en la tarde/noche se puede disfrutar del atardecer y la niebla.

Tout est super : Le lieu est magnifique et génial pour se ressourcer il dispose de tout le nécessaire pour passer un bon séjour. Felipe et Jane les hôtes, sont juste incroyables , super gentils , arrangeants et la bonne humeur et la joie de vivre sont au rendez vous . Énorme plus pour la cuisine , Jane et Felipe proposent une cuisine faite maison et tout est absolument délicieux . Vous pouvez venir y séjourner les yeux fermés !

El desayuno es muy pero muy bueno, las pizzas son sencillamente deliciosas. La atención de Jane y Felipe. El ambiente hogareño y de tranquilidad que se respira en la casa.

I liked that the hostel was not in San Gil itself, but on a hill with a nice view. It can be really cozy to sit on the veranda and watch the thunder and lightning in the mountains. To get to the hacienda, you need to get a taxi. I hiked down once as well with a small backpack.

To me, the cleanliness in the building and in the room could be better. The building is an old hacienda. Every day I had new terrifying big black wasps in my bathroom, because there are no nets to keep them out and there are large openings in the roof through which they could enter. I had to keep my bathroom door closed for this reason. There are no nets in front of the windows seeing into the patio either. The kitchen is shared. The bin with organics was not emptied daily, and with high temperatures, fruit flies could roam about abundantly. Rotting fruit in the kitchen was not thrown away. After preparing food, the counter top would be covered in little ants. I did not give permission to clean my room during my stay. In fact I asked not to enter. I arrived home one night, to find my bathroom door open (wasps!) and the bin in the bathroom with a new bag, but no new roll of toilet paper. The books in the TV room have not been moved for a long time and are literally crawling with book worms. The owner of the hostel would consume alcohol daily. He apologized later for his behavior.

Es un lugar muy tranquilo, la amabilidad de Jane y Felipe hacen que se sienta súper acogedora la estadía! El desayuno es delicioso!! Muy recomendado!!

Jane and Felipe are lovely people. They were very kind. I always feel comfortable and welcome. They gave me coffee and bread. We chatted a lot hehe. The place is a bit out of town and since I wanted to relax and rest, it was the perfect place. The facilities were good.

This was my second stay. I developed a fever and was given a special room to recuperate in peace and quiet. I appreciate the fine details in hospitality, such as double pillows. Jane and Felipe were great hosts.

It's like a boutique hotel rather than a hostel. Tastefully decorated to delight the eye as well as to invite guests to truly enjoy and relax in this special place, a gorgeous view of a spread of mountains from the front porch, also a starting point for short and longer walks into woods, fields and nearby neighbouring mountain village/s. Plenty of attention to details to make anyone's stay just wonderful (eg the homemade bread is the best I've had in South America and the coffee too!) super clean: bed, bathroom, hosts super super helpful and friendly. Can't ask for more, really! I am definitely taking time off from travel to go back and chill !

Nothing at all to dislike; just that it's a place for those who, like me, want quiet and to be surrounded by nature, fresh air, clear sunshine, and not minding being out of the town's centre.

I loved the quiet location, the hospitality shown by Jane & Felippe and the food they cooked was amazing. With the dogs and cats it felt very homely. I was planning to stay two nights I ended up staying seven. It was hard to leave.

Absolutely everything, the best hostel experience of our lives!!! Jane and Felipe are the most amazing hosts, and their happiness is contagious. They helped us with everything we needed, even gave us old shoes for the river. And the food was delicious. 100% recommended, thank you Jane and Felipe for everything!

The road to get there was a bit harsh for the car, but absolutely worth it.

Beautiful location up in the hills surrounded by the coffee farm. It's a little bit out of town but Jane organised a taxi for me so easy to get to. As a solo traveller loved the family dinners to meet other people and eat yummy food. Overall felt very spoilt by Jane and Felipe, I felt really at home which is something you don't always get when travelling. They organised activities for me and we did a lovely walk to Curiti to visit the pools. I didn't want to leave and hope to be back. Totally recommend!

Please do not go to this property if you do not have a SUV car with 4 wheel drive …we called and confirmed with the owner and they told it’s all fine and believing them we went inside but we got stuck and then me and my 2 kids had to push back and return from there …..it’s my humble request to not go if you do not have a SUV with 4 wheel drive it was a nightmare for us and honestly we do not want others to suffer like us ….we called the owners for help but they came almost after 30 mins and by then we just returned back by ourselves

The hosts are wonderful! Never a dull moment and the most genuine hospitality we have had in Colombia. The rooms have what you need, clean and quiet plus there is a meal option you can pay for that is awesome. We hope to stay again one day 🩵

It's real hacienda in the middle of the nature, but still walking distance from town (when you arrive with luggage better to take taxi, but without luggage it's real pleasure)). Rooms are big, beds are super comfortable, and owners from the first minute made me feel home. And i mean really home and family feeling.

Great hosts. Great breakfast. Great location...if you have a car as it is a bit outside of town. That said, being outside of town is one of its charms. Life doesn't get much better than burying yourself in one of the hammocks and uncoupling from the world.

Private bathroom was not next to the room, but on the other side of a shared hall with possible access to everyone.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay here. Ended up spending 5 nights. The host’s (including their two dogs) is the kindest and warmest people, and they would help you with any questions you should have. They do everything to make you feel at home. Would recommend this place to everyone. A perfect peaceful place to relax after an adventures day, with the most magical view of the mountains. Definitely coming back when you get your pool done ;-)

We booked cos of the incredible reviews and weren’t disappointed. Felipe and Jane are amazing hosts, kind, funny and sociable. Felt like family, with plenty of room to socialise. The private room was huge, with a big bathroom and warm shower. Kitchen was well equipped but after tasting the home cooked meals you might not use it! Located out of town with sunset views over San Gil. Great for hiking. You can walk and then bus to town, or Jane and Felipe will sort out economical transport if required. You can book tours at the hostel too.

The owners Jane and Filipe together with the rest of the family (mom Janet, dogs) really make the place very special. They make you feel welcome, even before you arrive! Felt like home after a day of walking, rafting etc. The meals are yummie and a massage of mom Janet are also very much recommended.

Very beautiful Hacienda: spacious, clean, all things one may need are available.. and all of this comes with an amazing view. From the first minute I felt at home. This feeling only got stronger as Jane and Felipe were always at my service, like literally always.. day and night. Sorry for that guys ;-) The surroundings and lovely dogs & cats around gave that extra "home feeling". Wish I could have stayed longer as I only had 2 nights in San Gil! Highly recommended :-)

Jane and Felipe are the perfect hosts. They are generous, extremely hospitable and have the biggest hearts. The meals are the best we had in Colombia. The accompanying salads with our meals are bigger in portions than the salads we ordered at restaurants. Great location to hang out and relax for as long as we wanted. Quite possibly the best place we stayed and we have been travelling for the last two years.

This was one of my best Hostel experiences in 6 weeks of traveling in Colombia. Jane and Felipe go above and beyond to ensure that you enjoy your stay. I felt very welcome from the beginning. Their dogs are super sweet, too. Food is delicious. 100% recommend this place! :)

The place is peaceful, the nichts you can't hear only nature, silence, the stars. Magic. The owners are a happy couple who share their joy and love for the place, the life with you. Everybody feels so welcome there. The house is big, rooms are big, so much space, a colonial style old farm house with only nature around, views to valleys. 1515 above sea level, lovely winds all afternoons. Not hot , not cold, perfect clima.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Jane and felipe were wonderful hosts and made us feel super welcome! We loved that the location was a bit out of the center of San Gil so we could really enjoy the views and the quietness of the place. We also loved the 2 dogs and cats. Jane made super good meals each evening. And a shout out to their good music taste :)

First, I stayed for 3 weeks there! I've felt like being in a small family! Jen and Felipe are so welcoming! They will make you feel comfortable as soon as you arrive with their beautifull smile and their overwhelming feeling of happiness! PLUS, they offer 3 meals for cheap prices! The food is just amazing and they have vegeterian options as well which are also super tasty! I played music a lot with Felipe and the other guests! It's the perfect place for those who wants to have a peacefull and quiet hostel far from the crowdy San Gill center! Also, they have 3 cats and 2 dogs which are sooo gentle! I truelly recommand this hostel! I also forgot my headphones there and they offered me to send it back to my home by post! Thank you Jen and Felipe!

The only thing is that the wifi connexion was sometimes not stable, but Jen and Felipe are working to fix this! Ohterwhile, I have nothing to say! It was the most wonderfull stay I've had in a hostel in Colombia!

This is how you receive guests, Jane & Felipe are wonderful hosts. Dinner and breakfast is great. Beautiful location. They offer all the tours in town.

Only the location is far out of town so you need a taxi but it's worth it.

Given the high ratings, I expected a nice hostel. But I found more than that - a home away from home. Jane and Felipe are the wonder couple who make you feel special and like family from the moment you arrive. I intended to stay here for a week and left after 3. Everything from cleanliness, the food pets, and music and everything else about La Hacienda is just magical. I am leaving absolutely refreshed and recharged, and still wish I didn't have to leave.

Some people might think that the location is a bit away from the town but that's what makes this place great. It's very quiet and peaceful and I didn't mind the trip into town occasionally.

La Hacienda is located a short taxi drive away from the busy San Gil, it was such a welcome break from all the noise after a few nights in town. Jane and Felipe are incredible hosts that will make you feel right at home since the minute you walk through the door. There are many spots around the property to sit back and relax and enjoy the views and tranquility. I cannot overstate this one enough: although there is a fully equipped kitchen available- don’t waste your time cooking, have Jane and Felipe prepare your meals!!! After months of rice and beans on the road (we’re vegetarian) their meals were like godsend. Jane’s spectacular curries, lasagna or falafel accompanied by Felipe’s freshly made pita, flatbread and garlic bread are reasons enough to go, I promise! Let’s not forget the pizza…. my mouth is watering just writing this. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Felipe and Jane are super hosts. They are very responsive and committed to making their guests comfortable. The entire family of 4 made me feel at home. Amenities are all good. Nature surrounds the hacienda. Privacy was excellent (helped by the fact that I was the only guest at the time - don't count on it). The meals were delicious, high quality, and priced very reasonably.

I could not find any hiking trails nearby, but this not the fault of the hosts!

The staff was really kind and really attentive, also the food was amazing. Muy feliz con el lugar y las personas. 10/10.
