Location is excellent. The pub itself used character and history which was fantastic. The food we had in the evening there was good. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Unfortunately, the breakfast especially on the second morning the sausage and the bacon weren’t cooked enough.

Very easy check in with a very helpful, pleasant young lady. The room was wonderful, way beyond our expectations and breakfast very good. Free parking an added bonus

My only, very slight niggle would be the extremely heavy front door, the handle dug right into my fingers!

Friendly and great character

Great relaxed atmosphere with a pub/restaurant vibe. The rooms are a tiny walk from the main building so then you get the hotel feel. Staff we’re friendly and helped me up with my luggage. The room was nicer than I expected and the breakfast is freshly cooked to order.

There is a carpark at the back with quite a bit of space but it was quite busy at night on the weekend. Instead, I used the local carpark right next door for around £3 from late until 11 or so the next morning. Not a big issue once you get your bearings.

Good size and clean room, great pub, staff all friendly and attentive. Great breakfast actually served rather than a buffet, so much better. Right the centre of town with a free car park. How a pub with rooms should be done, can't fault it and will definitely stay again.

We had a great time here. Everyone was so lovely, staff were extremely good . Our room was comfortable as was the bed. Would stay again.

We liked everything about the property from the very central location to the comfortable and clean bedroom and quaint layout of the hotel itself. The staff, especially Libby, were exceptional, happy to help and gave great service on all levels. The restaurant food was delicious and the perfect English breakfast set us up for the day. Would love to stay there again on our next trip to Nantwich.

Good location

Not towels were left in the room, didn’t notice until the morning no staff were available, so very disappointed.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy. When we arrived there was no space in the car park and one of the staff even moved their car to let us in! We were told that there might be some noise as it was a Saturday night but the room was really quiet. We'd definitely sty at the Cheshire Cat again.

Only 1 towel, so had to share with my husband, couldn't find anyone at time of showering, no beans or salmon available from breakfast.

It was very convenient for the location of the wedding I was attending down the road. The staff were really helpful and allowed me to check in early to get changed.

Somehow I missed it was a nightclub! Not a fun surprise to find out when I got there, I also think I had the closest room to the courtyard and the noise so also unfortunate. The cleanliness was not good in the room, in particular the shower and the general furniture looks very worn and could do with some love!

I was expecting a small dingy room but was surprised at how large, clean and tidy it was I loved the jacuzzi bath in the room and the mattress was so comfortable All round a great place to stay

The only negative would be the noises and loud music from the pub but to be honest knowing we booked here we expected it They rooms are located a fair bit away from the pub so I guess it the best situation considering

Обирала цей готель, оскільки на сайті було заявлено готель 4 зірки, але насправді це звичайні кімнати для ночівлі, які мають далеке відношення до заявленого рівня. Щоб дістатися до своєї кімнати з важкою валізою, довелося йти через кілька двориків і підніматися крутими сходами. Жодного ліфта чи нормального супроводу. Будівля стара і номери потребують ремонту й догляду. не рекомедую тим, хто розраховує на сервіс готелю 4 зірок.

I felt very comfortable and safe as a woman travelling on my own for business. The staff are extremely polite and could not be more helpful. Breakfast is delicious.

Have stayed here a couple of times. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is very good, and also the restaurant is very good. Also the bar area is welcoming with also good outside seating

On site private parking was a bonus. The young member of staff was welcoming and instantly helpful in showing us to our room. We had booked an evening meal and the Sunday roast was amazingly good in all respects. Our room was quite compact but everything was clean and comfortable. There was even an ironing board in the wardrobe. The staff serving in the evening and at breakfast were friendly and willing. We would recommend this characterful hotel without reservation.

We were charged twice for our evening meal. Perhaps staff on duty need to be trained up on how to check that we had left our card details and then paid in the morning for our dinner the night before. We telephoned when we discovered the error and it was rectified immediately..

Incredible building, built in the early 1600’s. So much character. The staff was great and very friendly. I also loved walking around the little town.

Bathroom needed a bit if attention to door and there was a bit of mildew which needed a good scrub. Think the extractor fan may not be powerful enough for the space. There was not a continental breakfast option. No fruit, yoghurt or ryvita style bread. The lovely waitress did manage to rustle up some blueberries which saved the day :-)

Zelfstandig appartement tegenover de pub. De eigenaar waarschuwde vooraf voor herrie op vrijdag en zaterdag, maar met open raam en oordoppen in heb ik nergens last van gehad. Centrum en leuke (andere) eetgelegenheden zijn op loopafstand. Personeel was erg behulpzaam bij het zoeken naar veilige opslag voor mijn fiets

The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the room clean and comfortable. I commend the team who so kindly went out of their way to retrieve and post back to me a bed pillow I mistakenly left in my room on departure - they dealt with this with kindness and very swiftly and I am grateful. It was a UK heatwave during my stay and it would have been a real bonus and made my stay more comfortable had the room had an efficient air-conditioning system. The menu was a little limited, for example there was no fruit and yoghurt options for breakfast, though I had a good bowl of porridge and the chef kindly made me a simple omelette off-menu for my evening meal.

The staff offered to refund us on one of the rooms, and then did not answer booking.com, after they offered it. Waste of time and money. Not acceptable. They also left us without dinner options, did not mention the closing time of the restaurant, so we could plan our night better, with children. Very disappointing.

Everything about the Cheshire Cat worked for us. Staff are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Couldn’t ask for more.

Check in was easy. The hotel was in the area I needed to stay in. The room had a bed and a TV.

This is not a 4* hotel. After making a non refundable booking we were advised that "the bar" sometimes plays live music at the weekend. The hotel is actually a nightclub, the music played is loud enough to shake the room. Nightclub guests will be noisy throughout the night even after the premises close. You will not sleep. These rooms are not suitable to be rented out. Directly below the window is the patio area of the club and the staff areas too. Once the DJ stops people will be screaming outside and staff will be pouring empty glass bottles into bins. When making the non refundable booking it said the hotel has free parking. Again, not true. There are approximately 15 parking spaces, there is no permit or registration required to park in these, it's just a pub carpark. It was obviously full for the duration of our stay, maybe these people were hotel guests, who knows. There is no on street parking nearby, only pay and display with a maximum stay length of 10 hours. The room itself was small, we banged our legs on the bedframe. The mattress had no support. There is nowhere to get ready to go out or get dressed in the morning. The bathroom is a wet room, it looked dated and dirty. When the shower runs the entire room gets wet, meaning you are then standing in water in either socks or shoes if you need to use the bathroom. The bathroom door doesn't go to the floor or the ceiling, not very private. Nowhere to hang coats or store bags. Bedsheets were dirty. TV remote covered in what I'd like to believe is chocolate. The restaurant describes itself as a gastropub. A burger, a chicken breast, one spirit with mixer and one pint came to £54. The food was fine, the burger came with a shot glass of coleslaw and both meals came with approximately 8 chips. The chips were raw and inedible.

Location was perfect being in the town centre. The room was some what small but comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent - both food and service. Apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable and was well suited to our needs.

The only negative point was the flush on the toilet ( needed multiple flushes to be effective).

Doors are fire doors so slam shut so unfortunately you get that from people either early risers or late coming in

So central in Nantwich, the accommodation itself was across from the main bar and restaurant which was a self contained unit with kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. All in all a good spot to stay. Breakfast was awesome.

It’s a pub & it was a hot, busy evening. The music was VERY loud which was worrying but it stopped at 11ish & before long it was lovely & quiet. We kind of expected it as had read the reviews!

Location was superb, short walk to the civic hall to watch live entertainment. Room was very clean and bed was super comfortable and excellent large walk in shower. Breakfast was very tasty and gave us exactly what we wanted, plenty of options available. Had a meal before we checked in which was also delicious and reasonably priced.

The staff were all very amenable and very friendly, the general set up, quality of food restaurant and breakfast, were all very good and there was free parking at the rear of the hotel.

We had a wet room facility in the bathroom which could do with a deep clean where the glass wall joins the bedroom. A few more hooks in the room would have been beneficial as storage was limited. Breakfast 7-9 meant every morning was an early rise which is ok if working but too early if on vacation. Understaffed in the morning at breakfast, with appx 13 covers to attend to created a wait of 35 mins for food from order to table.

Hotel was centrally located. Food was very good, especially the steak pie(chef made) and served the breakfast. On site parking. Room was clean and comfortable.

Check out was a little early at 10.00 am especially given it was Good Friday but apart from that everything was fine.

Our second visit to Nantwich and our second stay at the Cheshire cat, doesn't fault at all a great pub and excellent accommodation, the first time we stopped in a room, at the back of the establishment, this second time we were taken across the road to a separate building which has apartments in it, we wasn't expecting that! A full apartment with full kitchen and appliances, lovely bathroom with bath and overhead shower, comfy bed and a nice lounge with a large TV, a nice two day break in this lovely accommodation and a fantastic town
