Good location

The arrival and main entrance is not very good and rather confusing, quirky deco but the collection of old furniture is more a cheap decoration, room bathroom is very basic and small, it is more a 3 star experience with poor acoustics, but staff is very polite and friendly

As Camas são péssimas. O hotel parece ser descolado e bonito mas tem cheiro de mofo, cheiro de esgoto sai dos ralos e as camas são velhas, tortas. Em uma hospedagem de férias a ultima coisa que desejamos é ficar com dor de coluna e dormir no mofo. Péssimos quartos. E não tem elevador na recepção principal.

Central location. The facilities are quite stylish and the room was very spacious. The staff was very attentive. We did not have time to have breakfast (had to leave early), but it looked very good.

Maybe I was unlucky and the other rooms are fine, but the mattress on my bed was just not good at all. I slept poorly. The hall and the room had a bit of an odour, which I assume is because of the carpet. Akin of older American hotels/motels. Despite being centrally located, it's not that easy to find the hotel entrance at first.

Aircon was not working, room was untidy, staff were bursting through the door waking me up without prior notice to clean the room early in the morning (07:00)

Love the decor and feel of this hotel - a firm favourite. Also like the option to have a light dinner in your room if you have had a big lunch. Just pop out and get some things at a deli close by. Each room is different and feels personalised - hate generic hotels they have no soul

Needs a bit of minor maintenance - low season so assume they will do it out before summer.

Clean and modern hotel, lovely room and Emily was excellent. Breakfast was lovely and a short walk to the V&A waterfront

When I booked with Booking.Com it said it had a bar facility which was nonexistent. You had to walk to the harbour waterfront to get a drink .

Como o hotel fica em um complexo de empresas, os portões principais fecham das 19 as 7 hs...Tendo que entrar ou sair pela Rua de trás, mas nada que comprometa a estadia.

Após 19h a entrada principal se fecha (provavelmente por segurança) e pode ser difícil encontrar a entrada pelo estacionamento.

Such a brilliant hotel, imaginatively designed and beautifully finished. Staff were lovely and friendly, bathroom was awesome and breakfast was delicious. Onsite parking was a bonus. Most comfortable bed in 9 weeks of travelling. Thank you!

The staff were so friendly and helpful...I arrived late and the concierge carried my bags up to my room like they were feathers...mind you I had flown 3 flights for about 20 hours so he made it look easy. The breakfasts were good and the front office staff were just delightful

There is a parking area but you cannot easily get into and off.

Convenient location. Great space and design. Lovely manner of retrofitting to create a cozy, comfortable room. If you are an architect, you will truly appreciate the designs and layout. The breakfast is also great. Staff are accommodating and helpful. Overall, the recipe for a great time in Cape Town.

The staff every single person was amazing. So friendly so helpful. The location for us was perfect we walked daily to the waterfront it was self contained so we prepared most meals except our incredible included breakfast - that was spectacular

Nothing to not love

The location was very central and close to the V&A. Great for catching Ubers to the city etc.. However it was also located near a homeless shelter so the main gate had to be locked at 7pm. This meant that a rear entrance to the building had to be used with a darkish passage to navigate. The coffees and breakfast served with the all-in rate, were very good.

The set up of our bathroom was odd. There was very little space between the basin and the opening of the shower so one had to wedge into the shower sideways. The noise of the pumps for the toilets was unexpected. The beds were very soft. I prefer a firmer mattress. There were only 3 coffee pods made available for 2 people for 3 days. I thought these could have been replenished.

Creative decor and lush atmosphere delivers a truly amazing experience. Michael was extremely kind and went the extra mile to ensure that I was looked after. Please thank him. The rest of the staff also did not disappoint and were just as friendly and helpful. I felt truly at home, and I know that I will be back again and again for more of the same. This hotel is going to be my home from home in this wonderful city. THIS HOTEL IS SUCH A VIBE!

Der Hotelzugang war ab 19h nur eingeschränkt und nur über die Rückseite des Gebäudes möglich. Dort musste man sich von Personal, mit dem eine Verständigung wegen fehlender Englischkenntnisse nicht möglich, in einen Fahrstuhl begleiten und mit dessen Karte in das richtige Stockwerk schicken lassen. Der eigentliche Eingang, gleichzeitig Zugang zu einem öffentlichen Parkhaus, wurde nämlich abends mittels eines Zauns versperrt. Die Hotelbeschreibung hätte dies transparent darlegen müssen, denn für Alleinreisende, insbesondere in den Wintermonaten, ist dieses Hotel so keinesfalls zu empfehlen. Es erzeugte ein extrem hohes Unsicherheitsgefühl, alleine im Dunkeln das Gebäude umrunden zu müssen, um nach einem Zugang zu suchen. Leider wurde dies vor Ort - trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage - auch nicht ausreichend erklärt. Am Ende bin ich nach einer Nacht abgereist. Das Hotel hat keinerlei Kulanz gezeigt, sondern das Geld für die weiteren vier Nächte trotz mehrfacher Auseinandersetzung einbehalten.

The establishment was close to the VA waterfront and secure. It had all the little luxuries, and then some it was stunningly fitted out with a warm and library indulgent vibe. The showers were spacious, and the rooms felt cozy.

The lighting from the hallway beamed underneath the door at night. The garbage men at 5 AM were extremely loud in the streets and there was a funky sewage smell that came through the room early in the morning which woke me up.

I loved the layout and the decor, if anyone is into antiques, this is the place to stay.

Staff was polite and always smiling. Location was good, walking distance to the Waterfront restaurants.

The Hotel presents itself as boutique. That's not true. Apart from some decoration, the accomodation is basic. I've read previous reviews about the noise in the rooms, but I could not imagine the water pump was so noisy everytime you need to use the sink, toilet or shower. It's impossible to be discrete: if you go to the WC, the neighboring rooms will hear it. Breakfast offers 1 choice of meal and 1 choice of coffee. Keep in mind it's not buffet and you can't also repeat. Even an extra egg or beverage will be charged. As for overall experience, I'd say you can get better options for the same price. I would not return.

Breakfast: can be much better. Only one cup of coffee on a rainy day ? I am sure more than one cup as standard wont break your budget.

Close to the Waterfront.

Because it has coworking spaces so integrated in the space, it feels that you are sleeping at the office... and breakfast is so sad... no guests, just staff and empty tables. Bedroom was extremely dark, fire alarm run off 3 times in 2 days, because its an old building the pipes are loud... overall it was an unnecessary over stimulating stay :(

The retro style of the hotel

Very well located, less than 2km tot the VFS Global offices. Felt safe to walk, during the day. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff

A cama de casal na verdade sāo duas camas emendadas que formam um buraco no meio, você passa a noite caindo no vão. A cortina de blackout so tem meia folha, então a claridade entra muito rápido. O encanamento do banheiro é muito barulhento e constante, você escuta o seu e o dos outros. Cafe da manhã um pouco estranho e normalmente metade das opções estão em falta.

The noise. So much noise. From the bathroom pumps, people next door. The room is not very sound insulated. Entry after 7pm is way more complicated than it needs to be.

Not so much a hotel, as hotel rooms in a coworking space. Lots of construction noise from the road easily into the room at 5am every morning. There was like a sewage pipe issue in the hallway so there was an awful smell for a few days. Whilst the overall location is good for activities, the exact location is a bit sketchy with the hotel entrance being under a highway overpass. The gates get locked from 7pm to 7am every night. Lighting in room was quite sparing

I loved that they set up a WhatsApp group so I could communicate with the staff about changing arrival times or ask other questions. All of the staff was great and explained the rooms and safety procedures very clearly.

I loved the breakfast, the location, the size of the room, and the overall ambience of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were also lovely! They also had a night butler that could welcome us quite late.

Our room was excellent, furnished beautifully. The hotel in general is lovely.

It did have a lift but it did not go from reception to rooms, suitcases had to be carried upstairs. it would have been nice to have a bar downstairs at night.

The Old Foundry Hotel was an excellent place to stay before going on a cruise as it was only a 15 minute walk to the cruise terminal. The staff are helpful and friendly. The facilities are clean and breakfast was included. The hotel has a very interesting history.

There was no bathmat to keep the floor dry but I'm sure we could have asked for one if we'd been staying longer

Entrance was odd - main gate shut from 7pm to 7am for safety which meant outside of those hours you had to use a different way in.

No full length mirror in room, inadequate shelf space in bathroom, lights didn’t all work well, breakfast menu not great, very basic service so I ate there once and ate at v and A waterfront the other two mornings.

Beautiful decor & spacious room ! Lovely breakfast - really stunning if you’re working from CPT & need a bed & work space.

Strange entry & exit rules later at night - with alternative entries on a different rode that’s a bit of a labyrinth. Room wasn’t 100% clean, there were Champaign corks under the cupboard (quite visible) & the hand soap / shampoo situation was dismal. Can’t open the windows. And they use a strange water pump system in the bathrooms that’s quite jarring.
