Mi è piaciuta molto la camera, accogliente, confortevole e delle dimensioni giuste. Ho apprezzato anche l’atmosfera durante la colazione, che grazie alla presenza dei vari ospiti diventa un piacevole momento di socialità e condivisione. Molto comoda anche la possibilità di organizzare il noleggio dell’auto direttamente tramite l’hotel, un servizio che rende più semplice organizzare gli spostamenti e le escursioni.

Quello che mi è piaciuto meno sono stati soprattutto i prezzi delle escursioni, che mi sono sembrati praticamente raddoppiati rispetto al mercato, infatti non le abbiamo prenotate. Ho trovato inoltre poco piacevole il fatto che anche un servizio molto semplice, come la fotocopia di un passaporto, fosse a pagamento.

The hostel is very cozy, with lovely decor and common areas for guests! The room is great and the bathroom is spacious. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home! The breakfast bread is very good!

Very well located safe haven in Green Point. 44 beds total but because of the layout and spacious rooms you feel as though you are staying in a family home with a few other like-minded people. I loved the mix of guests - age range 18-65, from numerous different countries, all sharing that independent, curious, and community-minded backpacker mindset. Each space is kept super-clean, rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, and the breakfasts are healthy and generous. A stand-out staff (locals and Zimbabweans) means you feel welcome and included from arrival onwards. Very highly recommended - THE BIG enhanced my entry into Cape Town and understanding of how life is for locals.

There are LOTS of quite steep steps - if you’re not fully mobile you might want to ask about accessibility before booking. Some staff more welcoming and helpful than others - unfortunately I had a less than positive checkout experience even though I had given notice I would be checking out early. That soured my overall very positive experience, sadly. Loved the braai night but found it a bit pricey at 400 rand - I recommend you reduce the price to 350 (as it was before) and have people pay for drinks after the first one.

Ficamos num quarto com banheiro privativo, com tamanho ótimo. A ducha era agradável. A localização era boa, próximo a waterfront. As meninas, principalmente, a que nos recebeu é extremamente agradável e solicita.

O piso é de madeira e por isso range o tempo todo. Causa incômodo para quem esta no quarto e quem esta no quarto de baixo. O cafe da manha tem variedades de fruta, mas so um tipo de pão. Não tem frios e é no estilo "faça você mesmo", além de ser mesa compartilhada, o que é ótimo para quem procura um ambiente mais descontraído como de um hostel.

A localização é ótima. O ambiente é super limpo, aconchegante e acolhedor. Quarto e banheiro espaçosos. Café da manhã bom. Os funcionários são incríveis!! Nós simplesmente amamos tudo!

La habitación doble era muy bonita y cómoda. Las instalaciones comunes decoradas con mucho gusto y con muy buen ambiente. La situación muy buena para visitar el centro de la ciudad a pie. Si volvemos a Ciudad del Cabo repetiremos.

Este hostel tem tudo de bom de um hotel e de um hostel! Quarto super confortável, café da manhã ótimo, serviço de quarto, e ao mesmo tempo pessoas de diferentes lugares para trocar ideias e interagir no café da manhã. A equipe é super simpática e solicita, nos deu diversas dicas que foram essenciais na viagem,, e inclusive o John foi conosco em uma trilha, nos explicando tudo e fazendo ser mais segura e agradável. A localização do hostel é ótima, perto de tudo e em uma zona super bonita. Recomendo de olhos fechados!

A localização é excelente, assim como as instalações. Agora, o que faz essa acomodação ser incrível é a equipe de atendimento. Eles são muito simpáticos, gentis, estão sempre à disposição para tirar dúvidas e auxiliar no que for preciso. É um lugar maravilhoso para se hospedar.

Ubicación y personal muy amable y servicial. Habitación amplia con cama doble grande muy cómoda.

La habitación era algo fría debido al aislamiento de las ventanas pero se podía resolver con el aire acondicionando ya que tenía bomba de calor.

L’amabilitat del personal, la possibilitat de guardar el teu menjar a la zona comuna i guardar el cotxe, el pa de l’esmorzar i l’ampolla de vi de benvinguda.

Res a destacar, com a proposta de millora diria que es podria arreglar la llum de l’habitació de fora per a poder obrir el pany sense necessitat d’anar amb lot.

As instalações são ótimas: os quartos são confortáveis, tudo é muito limpo e organizado. As camas têm até lençol térmico, que mantém você aquecido durante toda a noite — e isso fez toda a diferença. Dormi muito bem em todas as noites que fiquei aqui; foi como dormir na minha própria cama, em casa. Mas, sem dúvida, o que realmente torna este lugar especial são as pessoas. Todos os funcionários são extremamente simpáticos, gentis, atenciosos e carinhosos. Eles fazem toda a diferença na experiência. Toda vez que eu voltava de algum passeio e era recebido pela equipe com aquela simpatia, meu dia ficava ainda melhor. E percebi o quanto eles fizeram diferença quando saí daqui para outra cidade: senti falta deles. ❤️ O lugar é ótimo, mas o que realmente faz o The Big Backpackers Luxury ser especial é a equipe que trabalha aqui. Eles transformam uma hospedagem em uma experiência verdadeiramente acolhedora. Foi maravilhoso ficar aqui. Recomendo muito!

The greeting on arrival, the support and help from all staff, the staff's attention to detail and needs of client, Breakfast was amazing, fresh home cooked bread everyday, as well as fruit, cereal and eggs. Tea and coffee always available. Help, advice and booking of trips, (there's a room with lots of leaflets about different things going on and where, also a board in the eating area with a list of things going on everyday, morning, afternoon and evening, for the whole week - so helpful) the staff are amazing, you ask, they organize an book for you, it takes away all the pressure. You can just get up and go. At The BIG, they have a nice big table to sit at and eat/chat, you meet loads of different travellers and can share ideas and experiences. Often the staff will join you at breakfast to help with anything. Fire lit. They have a comfy sitting room, again staff will bring in a fire, if it's chilly (without you requesting it) Rooms great, everything you could need and a little gift too with a welcome note. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them (Chantelle and Kaye in particular). There is an honesty bar/fridge and also you can buy snacks from the Reception desk. There is a shop nearby where you can buy food etc and bring back and cook for yourself. Everything you could need is in the kitchen. Super location for down town Cape Town, restaurants, the beaches, Table Mountain, Lions Head, The Botanical gardens and much more. All can be accessed by an uber, if you haven't a car. Also in Cape Town, you can use the Hop on Hop off bus. The staff at The Big will help you with whatever you need. It's a fabulous place to stay, I'll be going back. Oh, yes - There is also a laundry facility. Put it in first thing in the morning, it'll be back by the evening - very useful!!

Non ho avuto dubbi nello scegliere The Big, avevo avuto recensioni positive da amici già stati. 20 minuti a piedi dal waterfront. Prima dell’arrivo mi hanno offerto assistenza per prenotare visita Robben Island e Township. Ottimo braai organizzato nella struttura insieme a tutti gli ospiti, colazione strepitosa con pane cotto da loro. Calda accoglienza da parte di tutto lo staff. Grazie e arrivederci

Het personeel is heel erg vriendelijk. Het idee dat ze geven over een grote familie is erg leuk. We namen deel aan de wekelijkse braai avond wat erg gezellig was met alle mensen in het hostel. Het is schoon, goed geregeld en als je iets mist kun je het vragen.

We hadden geen koelkastje op de kamer helaas.

Personal amabilísimo, instalaciones muy limpias y cuidadas, habitaciones limpias, desayuno rico... Muy aocgedores. Estar allí es como estar con una gran familia. ¡¡¡Maravillosos!!!

Por decir algo, podría haber más luces en el exterior dentro de la propiedad, para cuando vuelves de noche.

Our stay at The BIG was one of the best we’ve ever had. If we could give a thousand stars, we would! The place is beautiful, cozy, spotless, and truly feels like home. Our room was always incredibly clean, the bed was huge and comfortable, and the common areas made it so easy to meet people from all over the world. We also loved the Thursday braai night and how they helped us arrange tours and activities around Cape Town. But what made our stay truly special were the people. Abdul, Kay, Naomi, Jojo, John, and the whole team welcomed us with so much warmth and kindness. We genuinely looked forward to coming back every day and telling them about our adventures. We also felt completely safe and welcomed as a couple. We experienced nothing but love, respect, and kindness, which made our stay even more meaningful. We loved The BIG so much that we even came back for an extra night! It truly became our home away from home, and whenever we return to Cape Town, we’ll be back.

Everyone was lovely and helpful, and when I came back to stay for one more night before flying home, everyone was genuinely excited to see me again. Everything was clean, breakfast was great, and all the staff were super helpful. I'll definitely stay at The Big the next time I find myself in Cape Town.

The honor bar beer selection could use some more variety. And the room upstairs above the wood fire heater gets a little smoky smell early in the morning when staff start to set up the kitchen for breakfast in winter. Woke me up much earlier than I had hoped to be up on a couple occasions, but this is limited to just one particular room due to the layout of the building. I stayed in a second room later and had no such issues.

Located a 20 minute walk to the waterfront. Staff are delightful and so helpful. The warming blanket made it perfectly cozy.

Very good location, great breakfast, fully equipped kitchen, the room was clean and cozy, the staff was very kind and responsive. The cost of living is competitive. I really liked the gift from the hotel — a bottle of white wine. It was very tasty.

The room was very cold (in July - winter season here). There was an electric blanket, so sleeping was fine, but getting out of bed was really hard at the night time.

This is a very cozy place that truly feels like a home away from home. The staff are all incredibly nice, and the facilities are kept super clean. Location-wise, the hotel is perfectly tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood between two main streets. It is completely walkable to the V&A Waterfront. Plus, there is a very nice supermarket and a couple of great restaurants on the main street just about a seven-minute walk away. Best of all was the breakfast! It is very well-balanced and the perfect way to start your day. It’s also a wonderful time to sit down and chat with other travelers. Highly recommended!

I loved how friendly everyone was it felt like living with one big family. I really enjoyed my stay at The Big. They did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. I also appreciated how clean the place was throughout my stay.

The steep steps to the room. The steps were too narrow and steep for my age. No TV channels for fifa football world cup games.. could even see news Quantity and variety of breakfast food. Only bread and eggs. No tomato No cheese or beacon

Staff muito atencioso. Necessitei de mudar de quarto pelo frio e tive de pagar pelo upgrade. Nos dias seguintes fizeram um ajuste do preço, pelo que acabei por prolongar a minha estadia e fiquei a semana toda aqui. Senti-me muito bem recebida e ajudaram a planear as atividades em cape town durante a estadia.

La ubicación, todo estaba muy limpio, el desayuno poco variado pero correcto.

El baño tenía techo abuhardillado con lo que mi marido de 1’91 casi no entraba y no había ni un solo enchufe en todo el baño, se condensaba mucho la humedad.

Le personnel a été juste très aimable, très à l’écoute ! Le petit-déjeuner inclus est excellent ! Première expérience dans un hostel et franchement je ne regrette rien ! Très cocooning j’adore on se croirait à la maison! De plus, soirée bbq formidable ! Pleins de rencontre, de bonnes discussions et de la bonne nourriture ! Merci encore ! Petite mention trop trop bien au chauffage intégré dans le lit, je n’avais jamais utilisé cela avant, ce fut un réel coup de cœur pour ce gadget !

A nice hotel in the city, with a good location and atmosphere. My room was nice, and everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. A continental breakfast is included in the price. The entire stay was great.

Perfect stay, beds are super comfy, staff is SO NICE and super helpful, lots of uber in the zone if you need to move, breakfast is so good (the bread is delicious), honestly it’s a great place to stay and we’re looking forward to coming back

Our room, the one on the left 😊 was incredibly poorly sound proofed , i'm guessing because the door was glass . Thankfully the guests did respect the 10pm stfup rule 🤣 apart from that we had a lovely stay .

This is one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed at in almost decade of traveling. The staff were so helpful and friendly, constantly making our stay feel like home. The shared social areas are amazing. Breakfast is great. There’s a pool, multiple kitchens and lounge areas, refrigerators for guests. Everything you could need to feel comfortable. The location is very central and convenient. Free parking. We would stay here again any time we visited Cape Town.

Fantastic stay at The Big in Green Point. Great location in a centrally-located-but-not-hectic and safe neighbourhood with lots of cafes nearby. Incredible team of staff (e.g. Chantelle, Joceline, John plus the rest) - super fun, kind, helpful and enthusiastic; they watch out for you. Beautiful interiors including the common areas and bedroom, homely vibe, very clean including the bathrooms, and a simple breakfast included. Quiet and calm. Would recommend and return in the future.

Could've been a more social vibe but it was low season when I was there so quite quiet; the staff did organise a braai night though which was fun in getting people together for dinner.

Location was very good, near harbor. Staff super friendly. Rooms very comfortable, big beds, big bathroom. Great welcome gift. Breakfast was very good although some eggs has to be prepared by yourself. It was a great experience anyway.

John is very annoying and sticky. If you travelling solo better not to interact with him. First he will be very friendly, then very sticky trying to join your trips and saying that he likes you and would marry you. Hope that the hotel will teach their staff how to work with people

L'équipe est accueillante et très disponible. Le lieu est convivial et très vaste avec les différentes parties communes. Le petit-déjeuner est assez varié et copieux. L'emplacement et le parking permettent de visiter Cape Town facilement.

Das Personal ist sehr herzlich und man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Für das buchen von Touren und Tipps für die Umgebung war immer jemand zur Stelle. Das ganze Hostel ist wunderschön eingerichtet und die Räume sind gemütlich. Das Frühstück am Morgen und der Barbecue Abend waren ein Highlight. Jeder versucht sein bestes, um als eine große Familie eine gute Zeit zu haben.

Die Türen funktionieren überwiegend mit Zahlencodes was grundsätzlich super ist, nur in der Nacht war es dadurch manchmal laut im Flur. Aber das ist ja auch normal wenn viele Leute beieinander leben.

Amazing staff, perfect vibes, everything is so special in BIG! A BIG family that makes you feel part of the tribe from the first moment. We loved the easiness, chillness, friendly and smiling people, help and support with everything, even organising a birthday surprise for my friend during the braai weekly dinner. The cosy rooms, good and comfortable beds, ,the safe location, the communal kitchen and spaces, the cleaningness of all facilities. Just perfect! Would live to come back!

Can get loud as the rooms are not isolated very well. If you have a light sleep take your earplugs.

Very cute hostel. The rooms are beautiful and the bed very comfy. The staff is amazing and the breakfast delicious. You have everything you need, hairdryer at the reception, parking, honesty bar, pool towels etc. Also the location was great.

It can be a little noisy depending on the room you stay in and the other hostel guests. But was still fine.

A great, uniquely run place in the center of Cape Town. By definition, a place dedicated to young people, but our 50-60-year-old group felt great there. A good breakfast in a family atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly.

Honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It felt like my home in Cape Town. I’m already looking forward to coming back. The energy here is unreal ,everyone is so warm and welcoming, you feel it even during breakfast. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the dorm feels like a private room. Leaving was the hardest part, but I already know I’ll be back and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else but The Big, thank you The Big Family 💛

Établissement très bien situé dans Captown et dans un quartier plutôt bien sécurisé. Personnel accueillant et souriant. Esprit « auberge espagnol » sympatique.

La climatisation de notre chambre familiale ne fonctionnait pas. Nous avons passé une mauvaise nuit compte tenu de la chaleur. Bien que nous ayons reçue un ventilateur, cela était insuffisant.

Very nicely setup accommodations with a very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was comfortable with a small bathroom. Lots of communal space to spend time either alone or with other guests.

‘The Big’ at Greenpoint is very safe and secure, open, airy, clean looking, homely, which nice communal areas and a small swimming po in the courtyard. Great value for money. I liked it attracts a wider age range from young, old, families, groups and solos. Theres lots of nicely decorated communal, work and relaxing areas. The dining and kitchen area is light, airy, clean, inviting. The 3 female dorm was lovely, light, airy, lots of airflow, large lockers, clean and didn’t feel like a hostel at all. It’s very homely with nice little decor. The breakfast is lovely and plentiful. The staff are friendly, relaxed and downright lovely, especially Chantelle and Laura. I’d highly recommend this hostel.
