Our room (Room 4) did not have an external window. It was also extremely noisy at all times: we could hear music from the restaurant kitchen, other guests’ movements and the loud arrival of the cleaning staff at 7am every day. It felt like we’d have had a far nicer time if we’d have booked one of the other rooms.

No hay comedor para el desayuno, es bufete, te tienes que servir y llevar tu mismo el desayuno o bien a la habitación o a la terraza que está en un segundo piso. El hotel no vale para una persona con movilidad reducida, hay que subir un piso para llegar a la recepción

Rustic and visually stimulating aesthetic with small rooms and bathrooms typical of a hotel with such a central location. Breakfast was good.

Ongoing construction meant the water was turned off a few mornings during our visit. I wish we were alerted when this would happen as my husband was caught mid shower without water. Coffee was only available for guests to make with a French press.

Really amazing hospitality, I was super ill on the day of checkout and the staff were so kind and let me stay after checkout with no hesitation or cost and were really caring to make sure I was ok before I left. Super sweet, stunning terrace with fantastic views, felt safe and in a great location. Also next to their amazing brunch restaurant.

I fell in love with the place even before booking it and our experience there confirmed it. The staff was always super friendly, there were welcome sweets and the rooftop terrace is stunning. The perfect escape to relax when the temperatures in Oaxaca are high. The pastries of their own bakery were delicious and make sure to try the Mezcalitas that they sell in the restaurant. They were one of the best ones we had during our whole Mexico trip.

Dagelijks ontbijt bestaande uit vers fruit, vers brood en zoete broodjes uit eigen bakkerij. Toen we een keer te vroeg weg moesten voor het ontbijt heeft het personeel na overleg 2 zoete broodjes klaargezet voor ons. Het dakterras boodt beschutting van de zon en gaf een mooi uitzicht over de stad. Door de schaduw en de continu aanwezige wind, was het altijd prettig om op het dakterras te zitten. Er is ook een honesty bar aanwezig, waardoor je zelf je drinken kan pakken. Er zijn oordoppen op de kamer aanwezig.

De tijd van ontbijten start officieel pas om 8:30. Voor die tijd staat er al vers fruit, maar nog geen broodjes. Veel tours vertrekken al tussen 7:00 en 8:00 uur, dus dit zorgt dat je niet altijd van het aangeboden ontbijt gebruik kan maken. De honesty bar werd niet regelmatig aangevuld, waardoor de keus steeds beperkter werd gedurende het verblijf. Het naastgelegen restaurant heeft ook een bar en speelt regelmatig harde muziek die op de kamer te horen is.

Me gustó mucho el estilo de edificio (vintage) y la ubicación, la opción de desayuno que ofrecen y también tienes la libertad de seleccionar el pan dulce de tu elección, mismo que elaboran en la panadería de su restaurante, es exquisito.

Derivado de la localización (céntrica), hay mucho ruido en las noches de los bares que están cerca, si no tienes problema con el ruido nocturno, esta es una excelente opción.

Excelente ubicación, amamos las instalaciones, el desayuno y disfrutamos mucho de la terraza.

Had a fabulous stay! The rooms were beautiful and the staff were super friendly. Plus, the attached café was a lifesaver - could order food to be delivered straight to the hotel next door. We ordered both sime food and drinks to the beautiful terrace. Central location was perfect, but be warned: it can get a bit noisy. All in all, a fantastic experience and I would love to stay again 😊."

Noise could be a problem, but was not for me.

Phenomenal hotel, the highlight of our trip and many travels abroad. There are some hotels you go to that “get it right”, Boulenc was one of them, incredibly kind, knowledgeable and competent staff that went above and beyond. Breakfast was wonderful and we loved the option to order anything from the cafe. The location couldn’t have been better. Noise was not a problem with the provided ear plugs and we slept very well. If we ever come back to Oaxaca, it will always be to Bed and Boulenc.

We didn’t get hot water since day 2, which was very uncomfortable but they immediately resolved it and gave us another room. The location is very close to bars so there’s lots of noise. Not their fault but good to know if you have trouble sleeping. Would probably come back but to the other place they upgraded us to

Nothing. As other reviews mentioned it is a bit noisy at night in the rooms looking onto the street but didn’t stop me sleeping so wasn’t an issue for us.

Loved this place , a real sense of calm and boujie! The room was perfect and the terrace is stunning !!! The ladies who cleaned and setup breakfast were so lovely!!! We got free cake everyday and they have coffee , tea etc available. Honestly don’t miss out on this stay !!! The WiFi was great !

Amazing breakfast and exceptional terrace, which we loved spending time on. The hotel had beautiful aesthetics, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a really nice stay.

Our room had several windows that let through natural light/light from the hallway, with no way of blocking it - we fashioned a makeshift curtain out of a sheet in the end as it woke us up early in the morning. The bathroom door also didn’t close properly which was slightly less romantic than we had hoped 🤣

This was not their fault at all but the area can be a little loud at night, perhaps there is a club nearby, and the loud music was a light problem for me, I would bring earphones next time.

So beautifully and artfully curated design and the central location was key for us. The terrace upstairs was one of the most beautiful and peaceful I’ve ever seen!

The walls were thin and that didn’t bother us but I could see it being annoying if you wanted more privacy or noise reduction

If I could give Boulenc more than a 10/10, I absolutely would. From the location to the staff to the room to the hospitality -- it was all top notch. If you're looking for a place that's quite literally smack in the middle of Oaxaca, you needn't look further, Boulenc is your home away from home. The terrace is a perfect place to both start your day with breakfast and end it with a sip of mezcal -- hopefully from Knock Knock, an amazing purveyor of quality spirits with which Boulenc partners. The bread and pastry offerings throughout the day are dangerous, but don't be afraid to take as much as you'd like. And the honesty bar provides both alcohol and non-alcohol options for whatever your heart desires. Want a meal but don't want to go far? Hit up their restaurant next door. Want some market foods or a souvenir to take home? Their shop is also next door. Want a latte? Pop down a few doors to their cafe. They have everything you need and want. Add that to the fact that you can literally walk anywhere in the city center and beyond from Boulenc, and it's just perfect. You'd be hard pressed to ask me to stay anywhere else next time I'm in Oaxaca.

It's not Boulenc's fault, but some of the surrounding businesses definitely pump the bass until late in the night / early morning. Boulenc knows this, though, because they provide you with earplugs just in case you need them!

Lovely hotel, with a very beautiful terrace overlooking Oaxaca. Great breakfast and commodities from being a partner of the Boulenc restaurant and bakery.

The water from the shower could have been warmer. Also, check in was complicated. There was no code provided and someome had to let us in. Communication was hard at times.

The hotel is architecturally stunning, the room we stayed in was well appointed, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved our time at Boulenc Bed & Bread!

Our room faced the street, which meant we had a lovely balcony, but also that it was a little noisy. The hotel provides earplugs though and we could sleep just fine.

I liked the property just confused and feel like pictures and description of room was misleading, my room had a balcony but not a patio as listed in the description.

The staff really made this stay. Paul in particular was wonderful and incredibly helpful. He offered great suggestions, including encouraging me to do a full day tour that turned out to be fantastic. For the day tour, he even sent me off with snacks, which was a very nice touch. He was also a big help with local recommendations and he and the other staff helped me ship a package home when flight weight limits made that necessary. It felt personal and welcoming, not transactional. The building itself is quite striking inside. It is more modern, but the space is softened by color, lots of plants, dim lighting, and flowers in the room, which made it feel warm and inviting rather than stark. The rooftop is beautiful, with great views of the city and mountains and even more greenery. It was a really lovely place to spend time and eat breakfast. The location in El Centro is ideal and made it easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was great with fresh pastries from Boulenc, fruit, coffee, eggs, and a nice selection of meats and cheeses. There was also a small late night nibble bar and an honor system bar, which was great after long days out. There is also a nice shop next door that sells some of the same items as Boulenc, along with ceramics and other food related items that are good for gift giving, which was very convenient. Boulenc itself is just a couple of doors down, and while the service there was uneven, the food was delicious and the proximity was hard to beat. My Spanish is limited, and that was not a problem at the hotel, the shop, or at Boulenc. I did my best to speak Spanish, pero mi Español es muy malo. Several people spoke English or enough English to communicate easily, which made everything feel comfortable. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely go back again.

You should know that there is a nearby club that goes late into the night, and the cement construction means sound travels easily between floors. It did not bother me, as I live in a loud city. For anyone who might be sensitive to noise, earplugs are provided in the room. One practical downside for me was laundry. I was traveling for a longer stretch and had packed light, and the sink in my room was quite shallow, so washing clothes in the sink was not really possible. The hotel does not offer in house laundry service, but they will help arrange laundry, or you can easily do it yourself a couple of blocks away.

Boulenc Bed and Bread was a perfect home base to explore Oaxaca. We stayed for four nights and it was incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The whole building is beautiful and charming. The upstairs terrace was a great place to relax and take in the beauty of the city. It was also easy to walk to many attractions from here. And don't get me started on the breakfast. The fresh pastries were to die for. You can tell the staff take great care into their work :)

Great location and staff went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They helped facilitate laundry service and airport pickup, and the food and beverages available were incredible

Only issue was due to the location in centro there was street noise at night going until quite late (4am) on the weekend. The windows certainly helped dampen the noise but still was awaken occasionally

Das Hotel ist perfekt zentral gelegen und stilvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist frisch und regional. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Da es sehr zentral gelegen ist, ist auch teilweise mit Lärm zu rechnen. Dies hat uns aber nicht sonderlich gestört. Es gehört schliesslich zum authentischen Mexiko.

Beautiful property with well sized rooms and a gorgeous terrace. We were greeted with welcome cocktails and were served tapas every afternoon. Such a lovely touch! There was fruit water, coffee, a variety of teas, fresh fruit and pastries from Boulenc Bakery that you could help yourself to. The staff were very attentive and lovely.

We truly loved Boulenc!!! The location was fantastic, right in the city center and felt very safe due to access door codes. We stayed in king room No. 2 with balcony facing the street and once the doors were locked it was quiet and no problem to rest/sleep. The room is very artsy and decorative and we loved the complimentary local goodies incl mezcal taster and home made sweets. Plenty of space and storage options and a functional bathroom. The rooftop terrace is spacious and offers beautiful views of the city and mountain range. But the best part, besides the super sweet and helpful staff, was the breakfast and tapas in the afternoon. Homemade bread and sweets, local cheese and meats, fruits, fresh coffee. This was THE BEST breakfast I feel like I‘ve ever had + you could also order fresh eggs of your choice for free.

Nothing, we loved everything! For some it may be important to know that there is no TV or fridge in the room though (you can store your items im the shared fridge in the lobby).

L'endroit est splendide et il y a beaucoup de petites attentions très appréciables (viennoiseries en libre service, petite bouteille de mezcal offerte..). Le rooftop est super !

Les chambres côté rue sont EXTRÊMEMENT BRUYANTES : bars où on fait la fête jusque tard, bruit perpétuel des poids lourds toute la journée... même avec des boules quies, c'est tres difficile de fermer l'œil ! Le deuxième soir on a voulu regarder un film sur mon PC portable et on n'entendait pas le son (pourtant au maximum)...

Bagno della camera piccolo con poco spazio dove poter posare oggetti senza separazione della doccia. Colazione non viene servita ma bisogna portarla in autonomia in terrazza su per le scale. Reception non sempre presidiata. Rapporto qualita prezzo rispetto a quanto menzionato sopra un po caro.

A very cool hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We loved the layout and the design. As soon as you walk in it feels very special. We had a larger room with a lounge area and balcony, which were all stunning. Breakfast was very relaxed and everything was delicious. We also appreciated the free snacks that were available and we loved having access to the cafe/bakery and shop. And then an incredible view from the roof terrace as well. Just amazing!

We loved everything. Except to say that if you're concerned about noise then maybe the rooms with balconies won't be for you. There are several bars in the street and the music is very loud until late. But the hotel have obviously considered this and provide earplugs in the room. We don't mind noise and we slept very well.

Está literalmente pegado a una discoteca y había muchísimo ruido por la noche hasta pasadas las dos de la mañana. La ducha tampoco tenía presión.

Staff were wonderful. Bed was comfortable, and the room and the entire property was aesthetically pleasing. The kitchen was great - the coffee, pastries and fruit were very good! The location was perfect! Walking distance to everything we needed

Lugar que te hace sentir mejor que en casa. Han puesto atención a todos los detalles. La terraza (rooftop) es espectacular. El desayuno viene de su panadería que era la mejor de la ciudad. Durante el dia se puede coger pan, bollería y fruta cortesía. Nos ha encantado la atención de todo su personal también.
