Hugo Homestay

L'hôtel est au calme face à la rivière un peu excentrée du centre ville. Les propriétaires sont charmant. Le mari est venu nous chercher à la gare routière car il pleuvait. Sa femme a téléphoné a l'hôtel de Tam Coc pour retrouver mon appareil photo que j'avais oublié dans un magasin On a put louer un scooter directement à l'hôtel et il nous ont organisé notre transfert vers Hué. Le propriétaire nous a servi de taxi pour aller visiter Paradise Cave. La chambre était grande, le lit aussi et confortable. Nous n'avons pas pu utilisé la piscine car la météo ne s'y prêtait pas mais elle était impeccable. Nous avons même pu prendre nos 2 repas du soir à l'hôtel. Tout était parfait.

A really lovely homestay, beautiful pool and surrounds, has a comfy feel and you really are in someone's house but that feels relaxed and easy. Plenty of break out areas to chill in and the rooms are huge with stunning floor to ceiling windows. The family meal is a great option for dinner if possible it is delicious, though it's not shared with the family as you do in some homestays. Comfy and clean, a great place to stay for a couple of nights or with a group. Hugo leant us some bicycles to get to a restaurant for food on our other night as there is not much in the area.

The rooms look directly out over the pool which is great but with no privacy curtains. It would be better if you didn't have to close the main curtains to get dressed or just have a bit of visual privacy. Not a lot of eateries close by but as said above Hugo kindly lent us the bikes.

Heel gezellige homestay! Eigenaars zijn heel vriendelijke mensen! Lekker ontbijt en je kan er eveneens lekker lunchen en dineren. De Homestay ligt op anderhalve kilometer van de hoofdstraat, dus makkelijk te voet bereikbaar. Ze verhuren eveneens fietsen. We hadden pas 's avonds onze bus naar de volgende bestemming, maar mochten na het uitchecken nog een hele namiddag aan het zwembad vertoeven. Eigenaars hebben 3 kinderen en dat was leuk voor onze zoon van 12 die mee was. Ze verzorgen ook heel wat excursies. Zeker dz moeite waard. Als je naar Phong Nha komt is Hugo Homestay zeker the place to be!!!

Hugo was a great host, he picked us up from the bus stop and maintained great communication throughout our stay. He also helped us rent a bike. The family dinner available was delicious and the place was clean, comfortable and a great place to relax!

The brakes from one of the scooters are very bad and should be replaced

Hugo was super helpful for organising stuff. The rooms were spacious and the pool was super! The breakfasts were ample and it was quiet and chilled.

Hugo and his family are the nicest people, made us feel welcome from the start. The homestay was perfect, one of the best we have stayed while in Vietnam. Our room was clean and really spacious with a large balcony. The bed was comfortable and shower had plenty of hot water. The homestay is about a 25 minute walk to the main road in Phong Nha, which meant it was lovely and quiet. We rented a scooter from Hugo and he advised on best places to visit and scenic routes to ride. The pool was fantastic after a day of exploring. Hugo also arranged our onward travel to Hue, dropping us off at the bus top too. Thank you Hugo for such a wonderful stay ❤️

If you re going to phong nha to see the caves do not even hesitate to book with Hugo homestay. They book everything for you, they are very organised, food is amazing, the facilities are clean and the price is insanely low for what they offer. The gentleman who owns/runs the place went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. 10/10 isn’t enough.

The fact that I had to leave at some point

The host was nice and very helpfull, helping booking bus Tickets to Phong Nha and to our next destination. In general the host family was super nice and helped where they could and Made us feel very welcome. The Homestay has a cozy touch to it with all the plants in the yard and the room we stayed in was very spacious and clean. We would come back any time. They also offer a delicious local dinner if asked.

The host and his family were so lovely! We were the only guests in the homestay as it was Luna new year and usually he would close but we booked in advance so it was just us and we were so welcomed! We had beer with the host and his family some traditional Vietnamese foods and sat and chatted with them and watched the fireworks at midnight! The room was large and clean and good value for money beautiful pool area with lots of places to chill!

Maybe think about putting a mini fridge in the rooms

Wunderschöne Anlage etwas abseits vom Zentrum. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, sauber und hatte alles was man brauchte. Es gab bei Bedarf Abendessen in der Unterkunft, dass selbst angerichtet wurde. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und Hugo war ein sehr sympathischer Gastgeber.

Schönes großes Zimmer mit gutem Bett, sehr sauber, die Familie sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Ruhige Lage. Den Pool haben wir nicht benutzt da es etwas kühl war, war aber schön groß. Zu Fuss ins "Zentrum" etwa 20 min. Aber man kann hervorragend auch dort zu Abendessen, frisch gekocht, das haben wir gemacht, es war sehr lecker. Frühstück ist ein Banh my mit Eiern oder Pancake. Nicht für große Esser, aber im Preis enthalten und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war hervorragend. Alle Touren und Fahrten kann man auch dort buchen oder Tipps erhalten.

Cet établissement est exceptionnel!!! Nos hôtes Hugo (Gnoc… j’espère que je l’écris bien) et Trang sont très accueillants et vont au devant pour que notre séjour soit un succès: proposition d’activités et d’excursion que nous pouvons réserver sur place, on peut aussi louer un scooter, ils offrent aussi le service de lessive. Les chambres sont magnifiques, grandes, lumineuses. On a pu souper la un soir c’est Trang qui a cuisiné pour nous c’était délicieux. Que dire du site, de la piscine!! Je recommande fortement!! Sur booking c’est inscrit que c’est à 2,8 km du centre mais honnêtement ça ne vaut pas la peine d’être dans le centre c’est Beaucoup moins beau et très petit

Hugo is such a wonderful host! Sat with us for an hour helping us plan our trip, regarding to the floods in Hoi An. The rooms were really nice and Hugo picked us up from our bus with short notice.

C’est un logement charmant avec une chambre très spacieuse et un grand lit. Il est situé à 25 minutes à pied du centre. Nous avez été très bien reçu par notre hôte qui nous a montré les différentes activités à faire dans la région mais qui nous a également trouvé une solution en raison des inondations présentes dans nos prochaines destinations.

J’ai tout aimé dans cette établissement, tout est parfait !

Wir hatten einen absolut traumhaften Aufenthalt! Die Unterkunft war blitzsauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man sich nur wünschen kann. Besonders begeistert hat uns die herzliche Art der Gastgeber, die uns nicht nur tolle Tipps für Ausflüge gegeben, sondern auch dafür gesorgt haben, dass wir uns vom ersten Moment an wie zuhause gefühlt haben. Die Lage ist perfekt – ruhig und trotzdem nah an allen Sehenswürdigkeiten.

- pick up service didn’t work, as my bus was delayed - bicycles are NOT for free and they’re crap - homestay owner tries to sell cave tours as soon as you check in. Even at the breakfast he’s sitting next to you, not to have a nice conversation - only to try to sell tours All in all I felt like the owner only saw dollar signs as I checked in

Hugo and his family are lovely and a genuinely great stay. As a solo traveller, they helped me feel comfortable and gave me the option of eating with a small group at their place, or at their families Homestay next door with a bigger group. Food at both places deliscious!! They offered advice for my solo outings, but also understanding that I had pre-booked tours/transport externally. Picked me up from the coach station and offered to drop me off. They upgraded my room free of charge to a beautiful, large room which was clean and very comfortable. Felt I had privacy whilst also not feeling too isolated as with some hotels. Lovely pool and reasonable walk from town. Best place I stayed during my 30-day travel.

This beautiful homestay is located in an idyllic setting , about 1km from the town centre. From the time I was picked up from the airport by Hugo, I felt so welcome . Hugo and his wife went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best experience, organising day tours, booking tickets , family dinners and giving lots of tips and advice. The homestay itself is spotless, the bedrooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable and the social area and pool are fab. Breakfast is included in the price , and is also really good . The value for money at this property wont be beaten. I would highly recommend this place to all travellers 👌

The dorms were very comfortable and spacious, the location was quiet but not too far from the Main Street. They helped me book a tour to Ruc Mon cave which was one of the highlights of my trip to Vietnam. Family dinner was tasty. The property was so beautiful and had lots of comfy seating to spend time reading and relaxing by the pool.

We loved our stay at Hugo's! Hugo was very very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfy and clean. The free breakfast was great and we even had the dinner too which was lovely and the portion sizes were good. The pool area was great, lots of seating and a good area to socialise! I would stay again if in Phong Nha

Hugo and his family were so friendly and really made you feel at home. We had a family meal cooked by his wife and it was superb and the overall hostel was a really nice atmosphere. It was very clean and the rooms were a good size and beds very comfy

The staff were so helpful and friendly, providing advice on what there is to do in the area and always happy to offer their services where they can! They always had a smile! The room was so big and spacious, great value for money!

Our stay at Hugo Home was very pleasant. The family were lovely, the breakfast every morning was delicious & we ate the dinner provided for 2/3 nights we stayed, which was some of, if not the most delicious food we have had in Vietnam, with hugely generous portions! The family are super friendly and happy to help with any queries. We rented a motorbike from them which was great. The room was massive and spacious with a comfortable bed and lots of light with large windows. The aircon worked really well and there was also a huge fan that was super powerful so our room was never too hot. Would 100% recommend!

Nothing that affected our stay majorly, the hot water in our room was broken but once telling them they opened the empty room next door and allowed us to shower in there instead and were very apologetic. The garden was being redone meaning the pool was a little inaccessible but we had terrible weather whilst there so it didn't bother us as we wouldn't have used it anyway, but perhaps would have been handy to give us a heads up before arriving. Lastly it said on Booking.com that we had free bicycle rental, but they didn't know anything about that. We have since had it with a few different stays so I think it's a booking.com issue and nothing to do with the hotel itself, but something to consider if you are booking and expecting free use of a bicycle! Nothing that affected our stay negatively and would not impact us staying again!

We had a good stay at Hugo's. Ngoc and his wife are very pleasant and hospitable. Loved the pool and the room size is large. Basic and clean with air-conditioning.  The linen and towels are a bit tired. Need replacement. The Homestay is on the quieter side of town, more of a rural area. Not much to see in the neighbourhood and no restaurants. Go into town for that. There are bicycles to use. Ngoc can arrange different tours, but a must see is Paradise cave and Phong Nha cave- this was spectacular. He also carries and fetches to the airport and train station. No Grab in town. The area and surrounds are being developed and tourism will boom in this area. This Homestay will need to do quite a bit of maintenance and regular upkeep to remain 3 stars. The competition is tough in this area. Quiet at night, not a party place. Youngsters stay at backpackers in town.

Extra 3% is added if you pay by ct card. It is not mentioned anywhere in the reservation information.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hugo Homestay. The room was spacious, with good air conditioning and comfy beds. We enjoyed the free breakfast and the family dinner there was delicious! The pool was lovely and cleaned daily but there was so much to do in Phong Nha that we didn't get a chance to use it. Hugo and his family were so friendly and accommodating. He helped us with transport to and from the bus stop, had motorbikes to rent for the day and bicycles to use freely. There was such a homely feel to this homestay, we definitely could have stayed for much longer!

Everything was great

- Near the drop off point of Camel Travel buses (Thien Phu Hostel), 20 minutes by walk which was totally fine. The host can also offer a pick up service. On our departure day, he dropped us off by car at the hostel free of charge - The room was spacious and clean - The family was nice and welcoming

- The motorbike we rented had a deflated rear tire, it was far from ideal

Hugo was very helpful and helped us book cave tours, buses, and even helped us get a rental scooter. The family had just got two new puppies also, so we were having a lot of fun playing with them by the pool in our free time. The location is great as it is a street away from the main town so much more quiet and relaxed compared to the busier centre. I recommend this homestay if you want to unwind and relax after exploring caves and the beauty of Phong Nha.

No fridge in the room was unfortunate. Normally we.lile to buy water and cool in the fridge to drink when we want. We had to buy every morning from their fridge which starts to add up compared to just buying a large 5L bottle. If you do decide to buy your own water we found a larger mart in town that sells 5L for 25k. All of the adjacent shops and smaller shops around town purchase from this store then marl up their prices almost double. Also the bike you rent may need some air in the tyres as a lot were flat and really in disrepair. But they were free so we shouldn't complain

Hugo and his family were so attentive, he collected us early hours of the morning and took us to the caves and duck stop. He booked the bus for us too. He really went above and beyond. The facilities are amazing value for money, we stayed in a private room and it felt like a hotel. 10000% would recommend
