Everything Location right in the market square Biscuits and chocolate bars with the tea tray Fridge in room Private entrance
Nothing
Location was great right in the centre but it wasn’t noisy at all. the room was spacious clean and the bed was extra large and comfortable The best part was the food served in the pub . Reasonable prices and the best parmo Iv had
Nothing I didn’t like
Location was perfect, right in the heart of Knaresborough. Kettle provided with tea, coffee & milk in a fridge, nice touch with chocolate biscuits left for you. Extra large bed
Old fashioned facilities, the shower needed an upgrade with a power shower, the shower head was tiny with hardly any power, it didn’t even swill my hair right after washing, the cushions on the bed smelt old. We stayed for 2 nights & they didn’t come in the room to check we needed anything replenishing. I didn’t take any shower gel because it said there was some in the room. It was a thimble full for 2 of us for 2 nights so I had to buy some
Lovely little room at the top of the inn, didnt even get woken up by the beer delivery. Room is smaller but has everything you need, TV, plenty of lighting, mirrors, hairdryer, plugs in the correct areas, added bonus of chocolate, fresh milk and water. Great asthetic and colour matching, plenty of cushions. Decent sized bathroom and toiletries, good shower and towels. Fabulous food and drink downstairs and Sarah is such an asset to to business. Lovely market square with traditional
The outlook onto a cluttered roof slightly spoiled it, although a nkice garden beyond. A squeaky floor in the room which cant be helped too much due to age of the building.
Large comfy bed, spotless room and bathroom
View of rear of hotel
Location friendly staff and comfortable room,
Quite a lot of stairs to room
no breakfast but the meals in the evening outstanding , the staff were very friendly and helpful
nothing
We loved the location disabled parking right outside the food was excellent and Sarah and her staff where lovely friendly and welcoming. We had a great stay and will definitely be back again very enjoyable.
Very central
Mirrored lighting didn’t work. Not a very nice view

Great location, comfortable room, and dog friendly.
Whilst the location was great, there was a trade off. Our room was located just above the market square which is very busy and noisy early hours on a Wednesday morning with vendors setting up for the market. We hadn’t factored that into our stay and could be easily helped by bringing earplugs. Having the market literally outside our door was lovely.
Fabulous location. The room was clean and comfortable.

Great accomadation. Friendly helpful staff . Room was a good size with large comfy bed. Bathroom had bath /shower. Toiletries provided. Also provided with tea ,coffee, hot chocolate and a fridge in room with bottled water and fresh milk and a treat of a selection of chocolate treats 😋 room was clean and comfortable. Perfect location . We stayed in room 4 We didnt eat in the Inn but the menu and food look great. . Would definitely stay again. 100%.👌
There were a couple of small flights of stairs up to room 4 which wasn't a problem for us but just pointing out for anyone who would struggle with the stairs. The lovely lady who checked us in carried our luggage up to our room for us. ☺️
Location is excellent, right in the square. Room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed. Dog friendly.
No parking
Great location Good size room Plenty of tea/ coffee inc chocolate bars
The stairs Next door in and out all through night which interrupted our sleep
Excellent location, friendly staff, chocolate biscuits left in the room.
Nothing, it was all good
Small fridge in room with fresh milk and water. Powerful shower.
Iron that was given to me was so badly burned that it started smoking. Pillows were awful.
Great location. Loved the complimentary mineral water, milk and biscuits as well as the teas etc.
Just be aware that if you have a room facing the road it can be noisy early morning with deliveries and road sweeping.
Great pub. Very spacious room. Bed was enormous and comfortable. Well furnished. Fridge in room with milk and chocolate , nice touch. Teabags coffee etc Food in pub is amazing, all freshly cooked and delicious. Very central just cross the road to marketplace centre.
TV reception poor but only there 2 nights so not a biggie.
Everything was great and a brilliant location

Very nice comfy beds tea coffee snacks in the room great 👍
A bit noisy in mornings with traffic really early
Price and location
Narrow stairs going up to room
Did not do breakfast but plenty of cafes around
The bedroom was very warm but fan provided
Location ,staff ,and room were perfect really enjoyed our stay
Nothing everything was v good
Great location near to cathedral .
Mattress was poor quality. The room was hot and stuffy the window didn't open properly and with the heat wave there was no fan provided.
Spent 5 nights at The Groves Inn whilst exploring the area. Food was amazing!
Once again a great stay staff brilliant room spacious and comfortable very very clean in the centre, I will most definitely be going back
Nothing to dislike
Everything was absolutely brilliant! Met by a helpful lass on the bar who showed us up to our room and told us about check out things n what not. Had a wee natter at the bar aft wards. All brill!

Perfect location. Very comfortable. Spacious room. Has bath. Miniature toiletries provided. Fridge in room with tea coffee milk and biscuits. Also fan provided.
Could have been cleaner. Wasn't dirty. Just some dust on bedside tables/lamps and a couple of hairs around the sink.
Despite being above the pub on a night England was playing a World Cup final, the room is (amazingly) quiet. The meals at the pub were also good and the staff friendly.
Stair up to room didn’t bother us but would be a problem for those with limited mobility. There’s no A/C but a small fan was provided.
The room was large and comfortable with all necessary amenities. They even supplied a fan for the heatwave which was thoughtful. The rooms were very quiet despite being above a pub. In the fridge there is milk and water and they also give you lovely biscuits and a selection of hot drinks if that's your persuasion. Breakfast can be purchased with a discount from their sister restaurant down the street.
The only quirks are if you are mobility challenged at all this is not the most accessible hotel, rooms are on the top floor up various narrow staircases. Don't bring massive luggage! Not the hotel's fault but parking in the town is challenging and no matter where you leave your car it will be a bit of a walk to the Inn. Parking is also confusing, chargeable from 8am to 6pm and no overnight parking allowed but residents said that parking and removing your car before 8am was fine, feels at your own risk though.

Location was great Clean spacious room

Comfortable bed and very quiet. Small fridge with 2 bottles of water and milk
Poor quality finish in the bathroom and lack of attention to detail: cracked mug handle, rusty pop up basin plug; loose sharp bath panel, rusty toilet roll holder, no hooks on the door or wall to hang anything, terrible view of rubbish from bedroom window.
Staff very helpful and friendly, location perfect, room spotlessly clean, also bonus that it's pet friendly , will definitely be going back .
Nothing to dislike
The land lady was extremely polite and on the ball. Very fussy about cleanliness an$ good service. Only to happ6 to communicate and help
We stayed 1 night . Unfortunately WE Spent SEVERAL HOURS UP LISTENING to noisy disrespect imbeciles arguing next door to us. They should have been thrown out into the street . Had it be3n my license and pub I would have physically thrown them out regardless
everything perfect
everything was excellent
The location was spot on - but what made it was the staff . Even though we arrived on the hottest day, at the busiest time (lunchtime) we were met by such a friendly barmaid - I think I heard her name was Sonia Very clean. Great Shower . Fan in room and fridge also when it was a real Heatwave .. great
Nothing
The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Central location in town, however no noise or other disturbances. Excellent food on offer in the pub below.
Great location, 4 minute walk to train station, parking 5 minute walk away, £2.40 for 24 hours, would recommend
Nothing
Great hotel in the centre of the Town. The room was bright and cheerful with all of the facilities we needed. The downstairs bar was a bonus for getting drinks on an evening and we appreciated having access to a mini fridge with additional drinks should we require them. A great place for a one night stop over.
Shame there was no breakfast available to guests, even though they provide a lunchtime & evening menu. Also, the two flights of narrow stairs were a challenge to navigate. Some of the staff in the main bar were also using some 'colourful' language with regard to a potential customer who decided against buying drinks at the bar.
Location is excellent right in the centre of town.
I knew breakfast was not available. However tea, coffee, chocolate and 2 bottles of water and bottle of milk provided.
The Groves Inn was excellent accommodation. I would highly recommend. The bed was so comfy, room had everything you needed at high standard. The location is central we would gladly stay again. Thankyou.
Very good place to stay

The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend the Groves Inn to family and friends.
Nothing could have been better. My friend and I had a lovely stay.

Nothing
all staff was very helpful room was clean and everything there for u
Staff brilliant room spacious, central to everything
Room very clean staff friendly
Do not like 2 single beds being pushed together to make a double and also being woke up at 7am by the police banging on the room next door.
The room was clean
The steep staircase going to my room and not much space around the bed and could have done with more drawers as there was only one very small one
Perfect location in the centre of Knaresborough.
5 - 10 minutes walk to an overnight carpark.
Helpful barmaid with our check-in and suggestions for local eateries. Large room and facilities good. Central town location and market day next morning.
Having sitting idling vehicle outside our room window. No breakfast served but plenty of nearby options.
Location was perfect for us. We stayed in a room on the second floor at the front of the building which had a large double bed and still had room for our dog's bed on the floor. The single pane sash windows meant it was noisy at times, as you'd expect when you're staying in the centre of town. We are early risers so the delivery of barrels at around 7:00 one morning, didn't bother us but it would have if we'd been asleep. The shower over bath was hot and pressure was good. All the staff we met were really friendly. Tea and instant coffee were provided. Fresh milk in the small fridge was very much appreciated. We ate in the bar on our last night - if you're looking for comfort food, the pie and chips with mushy peas, crispy onions and peppercorn sauce was phenomenal!
Bed was OK, but I didn't get on well with the pillows.
Soho Bar excellent
Noisy Saturday night

The room was clean with a large and comfortable bed. Lovely powerful shower. Small beer garden. Helpful and friendly staff.
2 flights of narrow stairs which could be a problem with heavy baggage.
Good location Large bed
Room Was too hot Bath taps were dirty Towel rail was rusty
We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. We had lots of fun with them. The food at the hotel was a varied menu and also special dishes and was tasty and cooked to perfection. Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable and spacious. There were plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants in the vicinity and also down by the river. That's why we have booked to go back.
We didn't dislike anything.
Everything, the staff where fantastic the location is great the room was perfect clean and comfy, complimentary tea coffee milk biccys, bottled water in fridge also,en suite bathroom clean and great size,tv if need one,if you want 24 hour parking its 4-5 minute walk up the street called york place carpark and its £2.40 for 24 hours, thankyou to the staff for making our stay simple and they are all lovely

No breakfast at this pub/hotel. Wasn’t a problem as we just walked & found lovely little cafes. Snacks & meals available when bar open. Had an evening meal & was great. Staff really helpful & friendly. Rooms very mean & bed very comfy. No parking on site but a large carpark a short walk away with 24 hour parking at only £2.50 for 24 hours. Bargain. The pub in excellent location in middle of town. Lovely walks all around & lots to see & do. Ample great ales to sample too in here & several other pubs. Highly recommend.
On site parking but that is impossible.
Comfortable with good food. Staff excellent.
No private parking, but can't have everything being in the centre of Knaresborough.
Location was brilliant the room was excellent the bed was brilliant had a brilliant night sleep and a bathroom was lovely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nothing
Friendly staff and nice room. Great location
Stain on carpet
Lovely pub downstairs with a great menu and selection of beers. My room was located up two flights of stairs but was exceptional . Very clean and smelt lovely! My bed was huge. Light switches in all the right places. Spotless bathroom and a fridge! On arrival I received a warm welcome with everything explained. I was asked if I would like to have fresh milk put into my refrigerator. Great selection of quality biscuits - Kit Kats etc. Nice selection of coffees and Yorkshire tea. Decent sized kettle that you can actually fill easily! Staff were brilliant. I ordered my evening meal at the bar and the manager arranged for it to be covered and wrapped so I could take it to my room to eat. No request too big. Staff were generous with their time and extremely polite and courteous. This little pub knocks many big city hotels into a cocked hat! 10/10. Definitely recommend a stay and I would certainly love to return when next in Knaresborough.
I didn’t have the opportunity to stay longer!
Just everything we have stopped here quite a lot
