Beautifully presented, very clean, added extras like tea, coffee, biscuits. Lovely outdoor seating area with blankets available. Mike was very friendly and helpful.
The cottage was in the ideal location for us, we visited some attractions in the area and found access to them on foot comfortable even with a few stairs to climb.
The property was exactly as listed , we didn’t have any problems
The property is in a beautiful location with easy access to everything you could need
Beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable
Nothing it was beautiful.
The location was excellent. The decor was lovely, the outdoor area was brilliant. The whole experience was top notch great host.
Clean room/ bathroom and we had a comfortable night sleep . Position excellent to explore Knaresborough, next to the river. Thank you Mike for making us welcome and the recommendation of eating at Carriages was excellent, the Sunday dinner was delicious.
None.
The property was very clean and well organised inside and out
Beautiful property in a wonderful location.
Nothing
Everything! Mike was the perfect host, friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home. The room was beautiful with great views, excellent facilities and the roof terrace was wonderful to watch the sights of Knaresborough.
Nothing!
The owner was away when we arrived, but instructions, communication were excellent and very friendly. The location of the residence PERFECT, on the road next to the river and it's shared balcony, excellent camera shutter chance of the bridge. Next to the bridge, next time to the river, easy walking distance to the castle and town. No breakfast, but places to eat nearby recommended by the owner. We opted for hot sausage sarnies(sandwiches) from a nearby bakery, a short walk from the residence. The residence itself, is very good, comfortable, well decorated, very clean and it had a cosy warm home feeling. The owner also instructed us about nearby attractions and we visited Bingham rocks. A very nice walk around interesting rock formations, well worth a visit.
Nothing, everything GREAT!
Great location beautiful area clean room
Room ok very creeky floor boards
Location is central to everything. Mike & partner were lovely, very accommodating & friendly.
My partner booked Tear-Drop Cottage for a romantic surprise Anniversary trip to Knaresborough. We’d both heard how charming Knaresborough was and so we wanted to experience something special. Tear-Drop Cottage did not disappoint. Its location under the World Famous viaduct is so picturesque. We stayed in the Pink Room; a quintessential English Rose Garden styled bedroom with fresh cut flowers. Everything was delightful, clean and welcoming. A small but functional en-suite. The room was adjacent to a cosy nook which lead out onto the most gorgeous open terrace space with table, chairs and outside ‘breakfast bar’ which we used to eat nibbles and drink wine. The wine was purchased at the lodgings and was perfect. The view is completely amazing, overlooking the river and the viaduct. Breakfast was substantial and filling, which we took in the nook. The hosts of this property Mike & Emma were nothing but fantastic. The communication, welcoming and the service during our stay were outstanding. If you want to experience a stylish, welcoming and beautiful place to stay in Knaresborough…this is the place to be. We are definitely going to return - before our next anniversary ! Thank you
The bed was comfortable and the room had a cute view of the bridge. It was in the best location possible, close to the train station, close to all the cafes and pubs. I was only booked in for one night but loved it so much I had to extend it.
Bad timing for a heat wave, most places I've stayed at didn't have aircon, fans or windows that could completely open. However it's an usually hot summer with the extreme heat warnings so that was out of everyone's control! The place was still maximum comfort and the room cooked down perfectly in the evening to have a great nights sleep.
Loved the view from the outside terrace
friendly host, clean and comfortable room, everything we needed and a great location to all attractions/shops etc

Very well decorated, clean comfortable, lovely view of the river Close to town.
Everything about my stay
Everything
Had a great 2 day break at this amazing cottage. Booked the room with the terrace & hot tub which was perfect for our stay. Mike, the host was so friendly & helpful. The food on offer was ideal. Had the graze board but couldn't have it on the outside river view terrace due to the weather. Breakfast also was very good quality. Will definitely stay here again. Location ideal.
Mike the host is a very friendly person and keen to help so you can get the most out of your visit to the area. Only comment I will make is that I had not realized the bathroom was seperate to the bedroom although it was solely for our use only. Having said that I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit the area.
Box room in somebody’s house .. bathroom across hall shared.. balcony shared
Dirty, no hot tub access like promised
Lovely room in a beautiful cottage. the location was perfect. Lovely view from the rooftop terrace. We really enjoyed our stay.
Perfect location, lovely terrace with a view of the viaduct and amazing service from the host - thanks Mike! There was a breakfast option available which looked good but we didn't partake.
Our room was a little small, but the bathroom and terrace were generous so it was workable.
Perfect location and friendly staff.

The location and venue was perfect
Not quite sure how this is luxury? Booked for my husbands 70th birthday and for me to relax after a operation, been to Knaresborough many times and love it but this product isn't luxury, booked the hot tub room no fresh flowers in room as stated and you CANNOT see the viaduct when you are in the hot tub, basically you are in a back yard staring at a brick wall(lovely sunny trap),was clean apart from bedside lamps covered in dust bed very comfy that's all its got going for it,parking not great if you not 1st there, not very private as room is alongside reception whilst we were in the room listened to a very intense conversation mike (the owner) had with the police ,a lot of comments we probably shouldn't have heard but not gonna put that on hear ,that night music was loud left it till after midnight then message him as music was coming from his room,it stopped immediately and the nxt day apologised and left bottle prosecco for us ( no disrespect but I don't drink anyway) and the argument was if I had been playing music I would have got a bollocking, anyway for over £200 per night i won't be going back i will find my luxury else were
Beautiful location cottage room with the hot tub was where we stayed it was a generous size and spotless
The views were brilliant from the upstairs shared patio great location for town although a little too hilly if you have disabilities
The location and the host were gr8 and attentive.
Maintenance required. The bathroom was dark at night as 1/2 of the lights are not working. The double glazing units in the bedroom window were faulty with condensation between the pains of glass. This was the window supposed to be used to view the impressive bridge advertised. These are not complaints just observations. I work in Construction so notice these things.
Room was a good size and very clean with good facilities. Hot tub was amazing and was very private. Mike was very friendly and gave us tips about the area. Location is great, right next to the viaduct and close to train station, town centre, castle and Mother Shiptons Cave. Lots of riverside cafes and you can hire rowing boats. We opted to pay extra for a continental breakfast at the property - we got coffee, juice, toast, croissants, breads, meat and cheeses and more and ate it on the roof terrace overlooking the viaduct. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Knaresborough.
Nothing regarding the property. The road is access only for traffic and is narrow and full of people walking so need to be mindfull. Also the road up to the train station/town is very steep and cobbled so could be an issue if stuggle with mobility.
Friendly host, room clean and warm with great facilities. Fabulous location next to the river.
Good location
Separate bathroom
A wonderful cottage on the river bank. Luxuriously decorated with its own private hot tub. A wonderful romantic break in Knaresborough. The host was friendly and informative. The location was perfect. A 5 minute walk from the train station (although a steep, cobbled avenue) plus near to the river bank, town and tourist attractions. A perfect stay.
Teardrop Cottage is a beautiful little apartment by the river Nidd on Knaresborough. The décor is well chosen and the bed is comfortable and good sized. The absolute treat is the hot tub. There is a patio area with views of the famous viaduct where you can soak in this luxurious hot tub. It is only a 5 minute walk from the train station although it is a steep walk along a cobbled avenue! I would highly recommend a stay here if you want a romantic break in beautiful Knaresborough. The host is incredibly welcoming and can tell you of local places to go and eat.
Fantastic location and a lovely cosy room. Will be back in the winter Thanks Mike
I have stayed here twice now. The first time in Dec 2024 and the second time last night. Both times have been amazing. The room was ready three hours early for us which was amazing. The rooms are comfortable and clean and have everything you need for a home away from home stay. Mike (owner) communicated really well prior to the stay and gave us lots of local information once we arrived. The location is perfect in our opinion - a short walk into the town centre, close to the train station and short walks to Mother Shipton’s Cave and Mother Shipton’s inn. Would definitely recommend and would stay again next time we visit Knaresborough.
Location perfect right by viaduct beautiful when lite at nite very quiet beds so comfy we had pink room which we found ideal for us
Unfortunatly the only outside area was being renovated and this was the main reason for me choosing the cottage so althought we had great time i would of cancelled if we had known this
Great property. Room exceptionally clean. Fantastic host
Location was fine.
Not as advertised, said there was a sitting out area and host said it wasn’t available & that was why I booked here as I like to sit out whatever the weather,Bed uncomfortable and very small bedroom, not worth £110 a night.

Beautiful location, room was very clean and outdoor area was well kept. Staff were very helpful and friendly!
Nothing, everything was fab! Would stay again
We decided to check out the parking before we booked, as we arrived Mike was outside he gave us his parking spot which was great and he sorted our double room really quickly at such short notice explained key codes etc and info as to where to eat etc!! Room was so compact mirror on wall which we couldn't use without moving the chair Wardrobe inside a small cupboard which we decided not to use only sockets that were visible at the time had to keep crouching down to plug hairdryer in kettle phone charger etc Bathroom was across the hall however it was lovely with a slipper bath and large shower with added toiletries etc there was an outside terrace but it was not accessible to us as it had vases blocking the door maybe it's only accessible in summer months however my husband would have liked the choice to stand out there to vape instead of going downstairs and outside each time!! Room was extremely hot even without the heating on so window was left open during the night no bedside shelves to put coffee cups on or phones or water for £100 a night we felt it lacked that extra touch room was on the small side however location was ok!!
What a magical place to stay everything about it is perfect. We stayed for 3 nights. We stayed in the Pink Room, most comfortable bed we’ve slept in and the pillows were amazing too. Lots of treats left in the room, biscuits, tea coffee and chocolate complete with marshmallows. View from the window is the viaduct which was lovely especially when it is lit up at night! Hairdryer is light in weight but brilliant to use and dries hair very quickly. Lots of bits added to the bathroom, shower/shampoo gel, cotton buds and cotton pads. Even sanitary bags left in the drawer. Everything is taken into account when thinking about the guests. Dressing gowns are provided in the room too! Fresh flowers were a lovely touch! Mike the host is just amazing, so friendly and shared information on where to eat and he wasn’t wrong! He made us feel very welcome and we definitely will return! The housekeeping staff are brilliant too very friendly and accommodating. The cottage is decorated brilliantly with a personal touch, lots of things to look at which add a lovely feel to the place. A lovely seating area downstairs where it was lovely to read and have a glass of wine. We visited the Black Mulberry (about a minute walk away) for breakfast which was lovely and very reasonable plus you get a discount if you mention you stay at Teardrop Cottage. Teardrop Cottage is situated perfectly for visits to the cave, castle and town centre. We visited Harrogate by train £6.20 for two all round tickets. We were there 4 days and didn’t move the car off the drive once. Well worth staying here it’s an experience for sure we didn’t stop talking about it on the journey home. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Mike and Team
Good location Nice and clean
Maybe could of done with some more towels go hot tub
Lovely room and the location is beautiful

The cottage is loverly! Great location. Spotlessly clean and comfortable

Everything about the cottage was amazing, the bed was comfy, the bathroom amazing, sat out on the roof terrace, amazing views , all the small details made it so special, from the tea tray with hot chocolate and mini marshmallows , to the bath robe and toiletries, everything felt luxurious, breakfast was only a short walk away , such a relaxing break , staff were super friendly as well 😀
We stayed in the room with the hot tub - a beautiful room, right next to the reception so I did wonder if we would hear people coming in and out but it was very quiet. The location is fantastic - we did have to block someone in when parking but we spoke to them as we arrived at the same time and were both leaving at a similar time so it wasn't an issue. Everything was lovely and clean, and the hot tub was fantastic! The only downside is that breakfast isn't included but that being said we had a lovely walk to the castle and bought food from a bakery to eat in the gardens overlooking the viaduct which was perfect! Mike was a great host who gave detailed instructions for arrival and was very helpful when we got there.
The room was fine, although a little small. We were disappointed and a little surprised that the 'private bathroom' was across the landing in a separate room. We had expected it to be en suite. So whilst the bathroom was really nice, we were a little uncomfortable having to cross the landing to get to it. In fairness though dressing gowns were provided. The location was really good and we really enjoyed our walks around Knaresborough.
Separate bathroom
The welcome was warm from Mike. The room very sweet and view super. The roses in the room were a lovely touch and free parking a bonus.
Personally I would not have stopped here had I have know what to expect. Yes its in a lovely spot, once you find it, someone previously had commented on how rude Mike was on the phone when directing, we had the same issue, and parking was not easy, we had to block the other car in, luckily they were not going anywhere so we were lucky we didnt have to move the car. The description said your own bathroom, what we didnt know was it was not in the bedroom, you had to kick the door to open it, the bed was right next to the wall, so no chance of keeping a glass of water or your phone by your bedside. To get out of the bed was fun as you can imagine!. We were very disappointed, also no mention of any breakfast at all. You did get some nice biscuit treats. I just dont understand how it has so many stars, but maybe I am getting too fussy in my old age
Great host, great view, very impressive
Nothing
beautiful room, exellent location
The location was great right by the river and the viaduct. Private parking next to accommodation. Room was lovely and clean. Outside terrace overlooking river was an added bonus
Location is perfect and pieceful on a night. Perfectly situated to amenities, architecture looks well incorporated with the contours of land.
The misleading information and patronising portrail on arrival. However not all experiences can be the same .
Mike is a fabulous host and Teardrop Cottage is gorgeous . Could not be in a more beautiful location right on the riverside . We could hear an owl at night ! We were 2 minutes from lovely cafes and the rowing boat hires. Beautifully decorated and relaxed accommodation . Stay here, you will love it!
Central location and handy for visiting the great Yorkshire show
Parking not easy at all especially with a larger car, only one small space at the property then it’s on street down very narrow road. Bathroom separate to room along corridor past other guests room. Not made clear at all so beware. Decked area spongy in places so hazardous. Main thing was host very abrupt bordering on rude did not feel welcome at all .
Very unusual
Can’t think of anything
Location
Owner stayed on premises
Fab, fab, fab! The pink room was beautiful, with original artwork and lovely touches. The bed was super comfy, slept really well. Window could be opened however much you wanted for cool air, or closed for warmth. Very peaceful surroundings and very special.
The only thing I would recommend to fellow car travellers, is perhaps to study the map a little before you leave - and bear in mind you can only approach the cottage on Waterside from the end it is on (station / viaduct end). Apart from that, perfect! We managed to park no problem (it was a Sunday before the schools broke up).
Lovely cottage in fantastic location.
Room small withVery tiny bathroom. Parking a bit problematic. Only space for one car at B&B with multiple rooms. Room was very hot.
Homely, comfortable, perfect location
The location is amazing. View from shared terrace is lovely. Parking at the side of the property was great. We had an early check-in. Mike was very helpful and brought us some chairs through so we could sit at the front of the property for the best view of the bed race. The little touches were brilliant, binoculars, games, books. Bottled water coffee tea hot chocolate, biscuits, and chocolate all replenished each day. Fan in room and docking station, blankets for use on the terrace. Use of iron and ironing board to name just a few. Jeanette ensured we didn't run out of anything and was very friendly and helpful.
If I wanted to be picky, I found the en-suit a bit small but perfectly adequate with modern furnishings and very clean.
Everything my stay here was absolutely superb!! And Mike the host was so welcoming and friendly, I will be back to try the hot tub suite next time!
Nothing everything was perfect!
The terrace was lovely, bed very comfortable.
The bathroom was across the corridor, .think you need to change the wording on your address...very misleading
There was no breakfast and I have already rated the location.
Basically, the room would have been an acceptable single rather than extremely cramped difficult to cope with double.
Great room, great location and lovely host. Very clean and well presented with great facilities.
Nothing - the stay was perfect and exceeded our expectations.
The location was spot on, right next to the river.
As it was an 300 year old cottage the floor squeaked which I would expect. The bed though everytime you moved it did squeak, the matress was very comfortable so I did not mind.
Location was absolutely exceptional. Really beautiful building fullness character. Mike was a charming and helpful host. Comfortable room and bed and a lovely terrace to take in the wonderful view.
Only little niggle which is totally to be expected was the beautiful floor was creaky. Just made us a bit paranoid that we were waking people up moving around. But it's a beautiful place and we really loved it.
Great location, fantastic cottage, lovely staff.
Nothing, everything fabulous.
