Everything was wonderful. We were on our honeymoon and it couldn't have been better. The meals were all scrumptious, the staff busy but all helpful and cheerful. The room was huge and had everything we could need.
There was genuinely nothing to criticise
Good food. And alowing dogs
Stairs oitside.to room.
Breakfast was excalent
No sauna or pool as advertised
Rooms a little tired, but comfortable. Food good but nor exceptional.
Location
Bar closed before 11 as told it was 11 as we checked in.
Liked that there were two easy chairs in the room. Proper vanity unit in bathroom. Breakfast was very substantial with a large variety of foods to pick from. No problem asking for oatmilk at breakfast. Plenty of choice for dinner, well presented meals. Water station available at all times. Liked the idea of a free green drink if we didn’t require the room to be serviced. Staff was very helpful at all times.
Nothing. The hotel came above our expectations
The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful . They gave us directions to all the local attractions and even told us we could keep the car in the car park after we had booked out.
Location
Room to hot food not up to standard
The location, the atmosphere, accommodation and the staff
The help yourself breakfast was chaotic and food ran out frequently. There were not enough staff to manage it.
Position
Nothing really
Great location
We stayed at the Knaresborough Inn for two nights and were deeply disappointed by the severe lack of basic hygiene and comfort. Upon settling into our room, we noticed the historic beams were covered in a thick, grey blanket of dust—it was so bad that my husband was literally able to write "HELLO" and "CLEAN" into it to prove how thick the layer was. The in-room safe and surrounding shelf were also heavily coated in filth. This wasn't a missed spot; it was months of total neglect. To make matters worse, because our room was located right next to or above the kitchens, our bathroom consistently smelled of greasy cooking and beef. It was incredibly unpleasant. When we raised the cleanliness issue, the supervisor agreed from our photos that the standard was unacceptable. However, the shift manager who came up to the room didn't even bother to take a proper look. Instead, she insisted her team could deep-clean the room, change the bedding, and vacuum the beams in just 30 minutes. Predictably, it was a rushed job. While the bed was changed and the top of the safe was wiped, the surrounding shelf was still dusty, and cobwebs were left hanging in the room. The only compensation offered on-site for this massive inconvenience, the food odours, and the unhygienic environment was two complimentary soft drinks at the bar. Two glasses of lemonade do not make up for a substandard room and rushed customer service. Look at the attached photos before booking—the hotel needs to drastically improve its housekeeping and customer service standards
The room was perfect and a great size for two people. The bed was quite comfortable. However, the lighting could be improved, as my mother’s vision isn’t very good and the room could have benefited from brighter and better-positioned lighting. The coffee from the breakfast was excellent!
One member of staff was quite rude to us when I asked about finding a table for breakfast, as we couldn’t see any available tables. I understand that she was stressed because she was working on her own on Saturday, but I feel her attitude towards us could have been more welcoming and polite. Unfortunately, the breakfast we had on both Saturday and Sunday was not very hot. This is something that could definitely be improved.
Plenty of space in our room
It was a Busy road from early morning.
Very dog friendly
Good evening meal
Annex room small uncomfortable and noisy and in carpark with no character. Would not have stayed if known that was where I would be put. Totally unreasonable price for it.
Lovely friendly place close to all amenities.
Tiny shower
Location
Being given a disabled room. Very overpriced on a Saturday.
Location
Comfortable accommodation. Lovely shower. Clean linen and towels. Handy for Knaresborough town
The room was very warm. The pub was always noisy and busy. The buffet breakfast was in a small corner of the pub. We had to sit at a table in another part of the pub. So we needed several walks to the buffet to get drinks cup plates toast etc.
staff very friendly. nothing was too much trouble. rcntly refurbished, nice breakfast.
very dog friendly, however some owners observed as not having their dogs on lead allowing them to run around bar and enter the breakfast buffet area, which didnt feel very hygenic
The location to the train stationis excellent. Lovely rooms and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Vegan food available although limited it was enough for me at breakfast. We had the salad and Falafal bowl and the Sweet potato coconut curry meals they were plentiful and delicious! Great staff: The staff work really hard, were very busy and in demand and very polite and helpful.
Waiting for a suitable table to eat a meal in the restaurant whilst there were reserved signs on tables with no customer's using it for at least 40 mins . One member of staff managed to sort a table out and kept checking in with us. Need timeslots to enable people to eat . Hairdryer needs to be a higher voltage not for for purpose.
Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from buffet style and you can ask for something different. Lots of seating to choose from if you don't mind being close together.
Friendly & comfortable great location
There was nothing we didn’t like
Our room is as very clean, comfortable and quiet. We liked the garden area for breakfast and drinks.
The fried eggs at breakfast were always hard
Loved every miniit we only stayed one night but it was perfect
We liked everything we were treaded very good hope to stay again sometime
Everything. The hotel was exceptionally clean, lovely decor, comfortable beds, and excellent staff.
Couldn't fault it.
Location and free parking.
High volume of music at evening meal and breakfast. Music also not to the taste of clientele.
Great location, plenty of parking, small but comfortable room that was spotlessly clean
No negatives at all
Excellent customer service......lovely rooms and an excellent breakfast buffet
Nothing
Beautiful bar and restaurant area and helpful and friendly staff
Breakfast was almost cleared away before the deadline of 10.30. By 10.15 to 10.20 there was no hot food to have and I had to ask for a bowl for fruit salad and for butter for my toast because nearly everything had been cleared away already. I understand it can't drag out but I think clearing shouldn't start till the 10.30 deadline.
Great location, nice building and hotel room. Staff were great and very friendly. Food and drink excellent and we really enjoyed our stay.
Parked easily. Very friendly staff. Great choice of breakfast items, only let down by hard eggs.
Room was very dark needed lights on all day. Difficult to obtain extras for tea and coffee making.
Breakfast good. Location excellent
Delightful place, great food and friendly staff. The room was a reasonable size, comfortable bed and well stocked tea and coffee making facilities. As we were in the annexe, we also had a bistro table and chairs outside our room. A good base for sightseeing
Only issue that I had was there was no small window in the room to leave open at night. There was a fan provided but my other half can't sleep with a fan on
The location was central for the town, car parking was free
We were in room 117, which is above the kitchen. There was an extractor fan directly outside the room, which should have been turned off at 9pm, but it was running all night. It was like sleeping on a runway with the noise. Also the kitchen smells came through into the bathroom.
The location and the breakfast
Our welcome. We were totally ignored for over 20 minutes. All the receptionist needed to do was smile and say she was trying to help someone else but nothing. No eye contact, no apology. Just as I was about to explode, a young lad came round from the bar and checked us in. It took approximately 3 minutes. More training or a personality up grade is needed.
Perfect location near to the river. Great buffet breakfast, comfy bed & good menu with nice perks with the app. Staff attentive and professional, a credit to the inn.
I liked everything and would consider staying at other locations that are within the group. Highly impressed.
Great breakfast
Nothing
Very quite room/ very nice staff members/ lovely breakfast/ fine selection of beers and drink
Been picky..Beds too soft for our liking but that's just our opinion nothing major.

Spacious, nice power shower, quiet
I had to leave!
Very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was really good. We had the evening meal and that was amazing. Really recommend the steak pie. The staff were friendly. Couldn't fault it.
The staff were friendly and helpful. However the check in/bar/restaurant were staffed by the same people and they were stretched in terms of providing an efficient and timely service.
The room was dark, cold. It was also over priced for the facilities and under staffed.
Location and hotel is beautiful, staff were lovely, had breakfast and was very tasty would definitely try their evening menu when we stay again.
Nothing at all.
Great location, lovely place, very clean and comfortable
Nothing
Location excellent for places were we went
Too many dogs all over the restaurant where we were eating Also evening meal very poor
Fantastic location for a few days in knaresbrough.Short walk to the river and town center.Great food and breakfast at this hotel.
Nothing
the location was perfect
the rooms were very dark, not enough lights,no light above mirror in bathroom not working in room 11, round the skirting bords on the carpets we're very dirty and the room was full of dust. for what we paid for 2 nights, I must say I was very dissapointed.
Hotel was perfectly located for knaresboroughs tourist attractions. The layout and decor are quirky and interesting. Garden areas are beautiful, but smaller than pictures show. Room was comfortable, decently sized and clean. Shower hot and powerful! Restaurant/ bar menu has a really good selection, and was good but I think on the slightly pricey side. Restaurant was always quite busy so I would recommend booking in advance. Quite a few of the tables/chairs are high, which are tricky if you have your dogs with you! And if you haven't booked, you will likely end up on these! The staff were all super friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Location was excellent. Room was very good. Very comfortable bed. Dog friendly with a great walk along the river very close by.
Breakfast was very good, buffet style. Evening meal was just OK
Everything was great, some others appeared to have petty issues.
Nothing it was perfect for us

Staff were pleasant and service was excellent.
No concerns come to mind.
It was such a cosy place, in an excellent location and easy to find. The staff were lovely, the breakfasts excellent and the dinner menu/drinks reasonably priced. The staff seemed to work so hard there.
Great location
Unhelpful check in. 3pm check in. Tried to check in at 2.45 and they asked if we had booked an early check in! Room was not ready even by 3pm.
Comfy and pretty hotel just outside Knaresborough .Lovely rooms with a really nice restaurant serving great food.
A little noisy as on a busy main road but not enough to stop me staying again
Breakfast was good. Room was spacious and the bed was comfy.
Food in the restaurant wasn’t great, the chicken was dry with hardly any sauce, chips undercooked and mashed potato was lumpy.
Beautiful hotel exceptionally clean
Nothing we didn’t like
everything was great very confortable good breakfast friendly welcome
Great location in centre of town with large car park. Easy access to riverside area. Food for breakfast good and dinner was very good
Our room was accessible room although we didn’t need this but the shower was a wet room which never drained properly and floor remained soaked throughout our stay
Good Location, comfortable room , good food and very friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
A gem of a place. Very quiet at night. Exceptionally helpful staff and very cosy bedroom. Lovely selection of breakfast and the vegetarian pizza was exceptionally top quality and tasty.
Nothing to complain about.
Lovely rooms. Great breakfast buffet but the fried eggs were decidedly rubbery as theycwere put out at 7.30 and not refreshed.. Skip the room servicing and get a free drink!
Rubbery eggs at breakfast
Very friendly staff - very helpful
Very nice inn overall, clean room, cozy bar, lovely garden to enjoy a drink, excellent location
The springs in the mattress were quite hard and the quality of food was average (although decent value for money)
Great location and lots of free parking.
Not enough staff in restaurant and bar, at any meal sitting.
Buffet breakfast was very good. Location of food, etc was quite congested. We were tipped off by staff to avoid the busier times, which we did.
We were satisfied with everything.
Lovely hotel very close to the town centre Was given a room on first floor nice size with big comfortable bed, all areas really clean. Breakfast was great with good selection Ate in the restaurant in the evening food was excellent
Nothing to complain about
Location
Check in times and departure, not even 20 hours, couldn’t get out of car park due to laundry truck parked across entrance at departure time. Restaurant food was average, breakfast? Never seen fried eggs like it, perfectly round and rubbery.
Mooie buitenruimte

Clean, quiet, good food, friendly staff and good location.
Perfect location
Everything good
Amazing choices at breakfast. Sarah was superb, looking after guests and always with a smile.
Needing to update dinner menu.
We arrived late and the staff were happy to make sure the eight of us could get a meal which was delicious. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with a filling breakfast in the mornings. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful.
10:30 check out
Location, room ,breakfast
We had the cottage which was beautiful but only fault too cold. Needed heating even in August
Great location
Nothing
Room was Ok but not worth the money. Food reviews were terrible and was not tempted to eat in the hotel. Asked for a slightly later checkout..30 mins, was refused.
Good location
It wasn't good value for money
Rooms, staff, facilities and location all great
Breakfast was pretty disappointing on the Saturday morning. Buffet style, poor standard and luke warm . Decided against breakfast on the Sunday and paid for it in town
Location
Rooms small
Near amenities
Rooms small and dark , smelt of dog . Food in restaurant on first night was awful . Rooms expensive for what they were . Would not go there again . Only good point staff on bar and dining room really good
All gorgeous
All staff very friendly and always asking if everything ok and willing to help.
Only fresh filter coffee available for breakfast.

Nice location, a short walk to Knaresborough town centre and the historic train station, and the castle. Hotel is nice, with very great food and friendly helpful staff. Plenty of indoor and outdoor areas to sit. Room was good and comfortable.
Nothing really
Location and car park plenty of space round the back
Very pretty on the outside, car parking, breakfast included. Room was lovely, nice inside and the grounds were very nice
Nothing
Smooth welcome. Comfortable room and good bathroom. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Nice old building and restful, shady garden.
Staff overworked, so service sometimes slow. All food at breakfast precooked, even eggs! Some food ran out at busy times. Coffee poor quality. No fridge in bedroom.
