Everything. Beautiful place. Comfortable. Attentive and friendly staff. Great location. Food is delicious!
If we really have to pick something, prices were quite high in comparison to other prices in less remote locations. Still worth it.
An absolute gem in Abu Simbel! Fikry is the heart and soul of this place. He is an incredibly warm, welcoming, and talented host who treats his guests like family. His passion for Nubian culture and music makes the stay unforgettable. Thank you, Fikry, for your amazing hospitality and for creating such a magical peaceful oasis. We will definitely come back. Visiting the temples early in the morning is an absolute blas

Location is great. Boat ride great. Staff great. Short journey to the temple. Food also great.
Nothing. Great place.

Everything about it - v helpful staff, great food, great location

Exceptionnel Chambre, repas, accueil, calme. Le tout à 10mns à pied du temple. Allez-y donc
Mid-size hotel with pleasant restaurant bar terrace, helpful staff for all arrangements

The location, the personalized service.
It would be nice if they provided water in glass bottles or reusable ones.
This is such a beautiful and tranquil hotel. The facilities are beautiful and the view on the lake is very nice. Our room was spacious and clean. We really appreciate to have a private terrace. Staff is really lovely and accommodating. They were able to organise a drive in a very comfortable mini van for us and our friends from Aswan to the hotel. The restaurant is also very decent.
The only downside was the bed. Very spacious but too hard for my own personal taste.
Located by the Nile, it was a haven of peace with beautiful birds. The manager of the hotel was charming and filled with good energy.
Endroit parfait pour une halte reposante. Personnel très disponible et aimable. Je recommande
Great location, clean, staff were welcoming and helpful!
Top Lage direkt am Nasser See.
Ci torneremmo subito!

The incredibly welcoming staff, who were extremely helpful and friendly. Good food. Very clean and spacious.

It’s in a great spot overlooking the water with lots of birdlife to enjoy. The staff were really helpful and friendly. It’s a 20 minute walk or short ride to the Abu Simbel temples. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Dinner out on the terrace was lovely. Make sure you allow enough time on your stay to relax and enjoy the place.
Nothing
The overall ambience was very warm. The room was excellent, as was the bathroom. The dining area was very well laid out. The food and service was excellent and the owner, as well as his son went out of their way to make sure that we didn’t miss the Light Show at the Ramses II temple.
Nothing
I doubt that you can find a comparable lodge in Abu Simbel village. The village is really small and sparse. The lodge is very characteristic and uniquely located to the lake at the end of a very private bay. There are a lot of wild birds living in the bush aside the bay where boat can dock and people can board. Resting on the chairs and tables in the yard in a bright afternoon are very comfortable and pleasant in December. You can immediately forgot the ashes and bumps in the 3 hour car ride from Aswan. We spent 5 dollar per person for an 1 hour sunset boat tour (I checked google and picked the exact time), we were able to Abu Simbel temple from the water in the sunset breeze with Tea/Coffee. (Wear more cloth the local temperature change day and night is no kidding). You can ask the host to purchase the light show, I think they got better deal if you cannot, and you can insist to pay with credit card if they prefer cash sometime. The light show in the night at the temple is amazing and gorgeous, and made with highly quality in art, literature and history, it also offers different language options (Chinese is rare to find in Egypt for my family). These are what you got when you choose to stay rather than rushing in one day round trip from Aswan. We have everything I am imagining from choosing to stay here.
There is space to improve in the food. But I think it is limited because the town is remote compare to other towns aside Nile
Nada
Beautiful place, comfortable and makes you feel at home
Wonderful location, wonderful staff and wonderful food - the staff at the lodge could not have been more friendly nor more helpful
Abu Simbel and being on the lake is amazing. The rooms mades of dawb are very nice. The kitchen helped our vegetarian. The sound of the birds is really nice.
I wasn't happy that when I asked for tickets to go see the show, he wanted to Make us pay full price when we had two people that paid discounted rates. And pretended he did not know. The breakfast was all convenience food and an omelet. Instead of it being more traditional or like home cooked food. Food was simply not worth it, not the ''included'' breakfast.
The owner and all the staff are kind like family. Even if you don't have a set plan, they will help you. There were no problems with the facilities.
As reservations are confirmed early, it may be difficult to be flexible.
Located right next to the lake. Easy to find.
1. Food and drinks were terrible. 2x the price and 50% portion. Beer and wine were really bad 2. Cockroach and mosquitos in room
We like the lodge as it resembles the nubian house. The experience of being part of the locals living in the barren, dusty, sunny but cold environment. The lodge is comfortable with minimum but clean facilities. Mostly, I like the staffs, very friendly and polite.
One thing that i am not happy is there was no wifi coverage at our room. Most likely is because our room was furthest from the reception. The lodge should install a wifi router for better coverage to all rooms.
Nubian charm, courteous staff, room was sufficiently large, and delicious dinner.
Interesting building, good room, very nice staff.
Nothing
The new rooms are very neat and tidy, have good bathrooms and a view of the lake from the front terrace. We were in the last room (room 5 or 6) which was very quiet and room was clean and bed was comfortable. We had dinner which was good but was expecting something special from all the reviews. They very were helpful in organising a car to take us to the aswan airport for 80 USD. Good price. The communication via email before we arrived was really good. Friendly staff.
Breakfast was average. All edible but bread was average and so was everything else. I asked for eggs cooked with oil (can't handle butter) but they were drenched in butter. The Eco lodge is growing... bus tour having lunch there when we arrived.
Well situated lovely hotel within walking distance of the Temple
Nothing we didn't like
Our room was clean and traditionally designed, the staff was very friendly and the location was beautiful, right next to the lake. The hotel arranged our boat ride in the lake to catch sunrise at Abu Simbel temple and it was absolutely worth it.
Everything was great. My only suggestion for improvement is to add a few freshly prepared items in the breakfast.
Peaceful location and very clean and charming.
The sheets and pillows are washed in lightly scented laundry soap, which some travelers may be sensitive to (such as breathing trouble for my family).
The room was gorgeous, we spent a little more than we usually do to rest, take a nice shower etc. It was quiet and the views were also beautiful.
No
One the best accommodation we have stayed Egypt, absolutely amazing hospitality, 1000/100, you can’t imagine how passionate and helpful the staffs are, they probably are the best people we met in Egypt. Food is amazing, the breakfast is super fancy but very delicious. They sell tickets for the light show at the exact same price with the Abu Simbel Temple ticket office, and they can help arrange drivers to drive to drive guest from hotel to the temple and literally wait for them there after they finish and come out, with only 500 EGP! They driver is the single best driver we ever had in our 12 days Egypt trip, no joke, he is fluent in English and is very helpful, taking us to amazing local restaurants and explaining everything we saw on the way. I got scammed by the local hospital, where I had a rabies vaccine (another sad story) for 180 USD which is absurd, and on the receipt it says I had intensive care which is completely untrue and the hotel owner really helped me, by telling us what does the Arabic on the receipt says, and suggest us how to seek for support, such as visiting the tourism police, and we end up getting half of the money back. When we left, we even got an offer from the hotel where we had a private mini bus that takes us to Aswan for only 40 USD which is amazing price, even costing less than even a sedan on inDrive
Nothing really, the facilities are obviously not on par against hotels in Cairo or Luxor, but when compared to other hotels in Abu Simbel, it is definitely top notch, and the Nubian vibe is very interesting and unique
The lodge is located by the bank of Nile River and offers clean and nice facilities and close to airport and Abu Simbel temple. Serag el din , the front office manager was super nice and kind and we were enjoying his company for a sunset water tour. He even prepared free water and snacks for our trip back to Aswan. Thank you, Serag. I’ll come back to visit someday with my family.
Food has a plenty room to improve.
This hotel is an absolute gem in Abu Simbel. The staff is incredible, and the food is excellent. They went above and beyond to accommodate my wife and me, arranging a taxi for our visits to the temples. Additionally, when I requested a transfer to Luxor, a six-hour drive, they didn’t just provide a driver; a member of their staff accompanied us to ensure everything went smoothly during the long trip. I was truly speechless at their kindness. I hope Bkar arrived home safe and sound, as they mentioned they would be driving back another six hours on the same day. What wonderful people they are!
This was the best hotel experience I had in Egypt. I was really worth spending a night in Abu Simbel! The lodge is beautiful and located on the banks of the Nile. The staff was very helpful and served us excellent food. It was also easy to communicate with them before our stay to arrange transport etc.
food was great ! everyone was very welcoming
a little too rustic
Beautiful terrasse and very cozy room. The staff was super friendly and the food was good!
The lodge is typically decorated in the Nubian style; this is a very lovely place with beautiful nature surrounding. The staff is very warm and welcoming. You need a ride to get to the temples; otherwise it is a good 30 mins walk.
The wifi didn’t work in the bedroom. Prices for food are in the high range compared to the rest of the country.
The place is really special and we have a wonderful time at here!
Not enough hot water for shower.
