We loved our stay at Grand Siwa! They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable! A special shout out to George who took us around for two days showing us all the unique sites of Siwa, and saved the day when I lost my engagement ring and he searched all around Siwa to find it and bring it back to me! I honestly can't thank you enough! The breakfast every morning was delicious, the lodge itself is so peaceful and calm. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.
The host Abd Rahman and Ahmed deserve 120 out of 100 , so polite, cooperative, efficient and honest. I would love to see them again sooner. Grand Siwa is very well maintained and provides full relaxation to one’s mind.
Clean, calm and cozy and location is very good
Individual Urlaub vom besten.
Special, uplifting place. Very intimate. Peace and quiet. Good, kind people operating it. Delicious food.
Le décor très stylé, la situation à l'extérieur de la palmeraie, l'ambiance avec son bassin de la source d'eau chaude et sa chambre de sel, et la disponibilité du personnel (chauffeur). Les visites organisées.
Grand Siwa is a very cosy and peaceful place 15-20 minutes away from the noisy downtown. The room is spacious, super clean and beautiful like the pictures published. The host Yasser is a perfect host and always available for any help needed They serve delicious breakfast and the staffs Fatma and her brother Marwan are very helpful and friendly young people.. not forgetting Adil who drove us to the Salt Lake on a Tuk-tuk and it was awesome. I would love to come back.
The water pressure got so low in the evening which made it quite difficult to take a shower and there are much flies unfortunately everywhere in Siwa and in fact most places in Egypt
Ali was a great host, and food was excellent
Issues with the aircon, not sure whether the issue was the appliance or the extreme heat Siwa experiences during summer
직원이 친절하고 잘 꾸며져있어요.
에어컨과 수압이 약했어요.
Molto familiare
Ali was a good host and the food was excellent. I loved the food. My apparent worked well.
The lodge is out of the town as most are. Cleaner air and quieter. But you need to work out how to be mobile so you can access other areas of the town. There are versions of taxis that would work well but you need to understand how to use them so you have your freedom.
Grand Siwa is a fantastic place to visit for pure relaxation or amazing experiences. My better half and I visited Ali, who is the host of the lodges at Grand Siwa. Ali is a wonderful person who genuinely puts in the effort to make guests' visits as fantastic as possible. He is calm, down-to-earth, and extremely good at planning various activities and experiences that Siwa has to offer. When we arrived, we had a rough idea of the different places we wanted to visit. We told Ali about it, and he helped us with a program and transportation, so we could enjoy a smooth and memorable trip. Grand Siwa itself looks just like the pictures suggest — but standing there in person, it is even more idyllic. You are quickly overcome by a relaxing atmosphere and a true sense of peace. (We especially fell in love with the Lemongrass tea and the few Arabic words we learned from Ali.) It is highly recommended, especially for couples!
Ali is very kind, genuine, welcoming and calm man, with great energy. As soon as I arrived I felt at home. I was staying in a salt room and the energy was magical, cleansing and relaxing, amazing value to be staying In there. I also met friendly travellers in this place to explore Siwa with and enjoyed a filling breakfast in the morning. It’s peaceful and relaxing here and I’m so glad I followed my intuition to come here, it has enhanced my Siwa experience massively. I definitely recommend to stay here during your trip. Shuckran Ali, you are the best
Ali is a lovely host, attentive but in no way overbearing. The ambience is good and the place is quiet, peaceful and safe. It's a cheap tuk-tuk ride out of town. We would happily stay again.
Must stay in Siwa! Beautiful and serene guest house located outside the busy and noisy city centre. Ali is a wonderful and kind host, and he helped us plan everything. Also, best food we had in Siwa!! I highly recommend staying with Ali. He made everything easy, and we benefited greatly from his local knowledge.
Amazing experience! Was a very relaxing stay, with an amazing and friendly host. Mr Ali went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. He truly made us feel like we were staying at his home, and having travelled to many different countries across the world, we have never experienced this level of hospitality. Breakfast and dinner were delicious homestyle meals. They accommodated our different dietary restrictions. Come to Siwa completely unprepared, and Mr. Ali will still make sure that you have an amazing time. Our down time at the lodge, was sitting and chatting with Mr Ali over Siwan tea made with so much love and hospitality. He even took us for a mountain hike at 5:30am to watch sunrise from the serenity of the mountain top. Mr. Moussa took us on the desert safari, he was an amazing guide as well. Would completely recommend this hotel and Mr. Ali to anyone looking to visit Siwa.
Friendly staff, enjoyed the night wooden fire and tea, rooms are talking nature is recommended and i will visit it again
The lodge is beautifully located on a hill outside the town, offering stunning views of Siwa. It’s just a 10-15 minute walk to Cleopatra Hot Springs and Plato, making it perfect for enjoying sunsets and sunrises over the lakes, desert, and the city. The management, with Canadian ties, was incredibly helpful, blending Western-style service with local expertise. They assisted with arranging taxis and tours, which was invaluable for navigating Siwa’s vendor culture. Every evening, there is a central fire in the complex, where guests can enjoy free tea, listen to Egyptian music, and connect with travelers from around the world. The tea, prepared by one of the staff, was exceptional. The staff overall were excellent—young, cheerful, and always smiling. They provided great service, and the breakfast and dinner they prepared were delicious. The rooms were equipped with heating systems, keeping us warm during the colder winter nights.
While the location was scenic, it is not centrally located, requiring taxis to get around. Apps like Uber don’t work in Siwa, and arranging transportation depended heavily on the hotel manager. Without a local SIM card, it was challenging to navigate or communicate with taxi drivers, as some vendors initially quoted a price but later increased it or didn’t know the exact location of the lodge. The rooms didn’t have proper hot water, only summer water, which was manageable but not ideal, especially in the winter.
Fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff, nice setting around the fire. Highly recommended!!!
The owner is a great person, he helped us with all of our needs. The place itself is clean, simple and looks like in the pictures.
There were too many mosquitoes during the night. The owner helped us with an anti-mosquito device.
Ali and Nader were the kindest hosts we have had had in Egypt after a month of travel. We can’t recommend Grand Siwa enough, honestly. It was clean, comfortable, but more than anything, they treated us like family. If you’re looking for the essence of Siwa, come find it at this place. Oh, and the breakfast was delightful!!
Amazing stay! Had a great time - the staff is so sweet and helpful. They made my stay incredibly comfortable ! Highly recommend 😊
Siwa, itself, is a magical place, and a place of intense and serene healing energy. I loved the salt lake and the mountain of the dead, the hot springs, Shali, and most of all my host, Ali made wonderful food and was always ready to be of loving service to his guests. His warmth, his heart, and his smile made me feel safe and trusting. We communicated well by IPhone google translator. He is a thoughtful and heartfelt communicator. He is a loving presence, a healing presence, and embodies the energy of Siwa. I wish I could have stayed longer. I think the healing results would have been cumulative, intensive, and long lasting. I felt the energy of the oasis: salt and the rock, flowed strongly through my body, and the first night I felt purified, and all my worry and stress left. My mind and heart became still, and strong. I would recommend staying at least 3 full days, and if you would like to more fully get the health and energetic benefits, 2 weeks would be terrific. Next time I come I will stay 2 weeks.
Although the fan was adequate, I wish I had an air conditioner. But I am American, so… we love air conditioning! I know Ali will be providing a more clear and comprehensive orientation for future guests. I was a little overwhelmed when I first got there, and would have liked more information about food, costs, amenities. There was more available to me than I knew about and I would have liked to take advantage of it. Like resting in one of the “salt rooms,” getting a massage, and getting to know about the food in a little more detail. His wife is a great cook!
Overall, great experience with great staff ready to help you any time! The rooms were very clean and breakfast was delicious and with good variety. The owner was very nice with us and even with limite english we managed
Ali did everything to make us feel well
Hotel manager Ali is friendly and very understanding, and he arranged pick-up from the bus station and a coupe of day trips for us. Nader is a very genuine, happy and chill boy who prepared the breakfast with lots of effort. Mousa is very nice and patient driver. They all made our trip in Siwa a special experience. Thank you all for everything.
I stayed in the salt room and it was perfect you will wake up feeling refreshed, Nadda prepares a really tasty breakfast made with love, Nadda and Ali will help you with anything they are so kind, the view of the mountain and sunset is the highlight at Grand Siwa, Thank you so much for everything, I will be back to my first home in Siwa.
Amazing home made traditional breakfast, by our lovely host
Wonderful place. My room was very clean, comfortable, and nice. Excellent value. Nadir and Ali are very helpful and they organized all excursions for me and other guests.
The breakfast was exactly the same five days in a row. Would be nice to add fresh juice, fruits and vegetables.
I spent 5 nights at Grand Siwa and loved the place at the foothills of the mountains! Very nice and comfortable room, fantastic and varied breakfast cooked by Emad, warm and so friendly welcome that you feel at home immediately! Thank you so much Ali, Emad and Yasser for this rejuvenating holiday! I will come back:):)
The fact I had to leave the place :):) to get back to work
Everything. When arriving to Siwa I came from Cairo and I had a very bad intestine infection. Siwa and specifically Grand Siwa were my Paradise healing-place. The salt room was so cozy and i never slept better. Ali and Yaser they were se attentive to make sure I had in every moment everything I needed. I felt home. I could do early check in and late checkout. Musa, the driver, took me everywhere and I felt safe and enjoy a lot. The food was delicious. When everything is made with LOVE you can feel It, and thats priceless. I Will come back for sure!!!!!!!
Grand Siwa was fantastic! It’s in a quiet part of Siwa. The rooms and the courtyard are homely and made to a good standard. We had a great time chatting and playing cards by the fire with Mr Ali. The breakfast (including delicious fuul)was great too! It would be even better if there were bikes available to rent. I Would definitely recommend this place!
The people are so kind, and the place is so peaceful. Food is amazing and the room is lovely. Try the additional things they offer (massage & salt room), both incredible! You can walk the mountain next door for beautiful views and it’s not too far from town. Loved our stay, highly recommend 💛
Thank you for an excellent stay and taking the time to make sure that we have happy holiday and getting out of your way to help us visiting the site.
None to say.
The property was very unique and well kept. It was in a quiet part of town. The food they served us was amazing and the staff were extremely hospitable.
The only thing that we didn’t like was that the water pressure was extremely weak making showering very difficult.
The nicest staff I have ever met through out my various trips. Sustainability is the Moto at this property.
Location is a bit remote.
Ali is the best Host. He wants always the best for you. He always smiles and friendly. The room was authentic clean and big. Breakfast was amazing, free salt room for relaxing. Excellent
- Everything was perfect
nice rooms. quiet location w good views. very clean. new refrigerators and AC. good WiFi.
hot water and water pressure almost non existent some mornings and evenings. AC not working in room and unable to fix it so room was 28-29C…not comfortable when coming back from a hot outdoor excursion.
after one month staying in Cairo, I finally got a good sleep. Located 4 km from downtown, the place is quiet, calm with a beautiful garden. Room is fully equipped and comfortable. The stuff are very responsive even during Ramadan and Eid. I would recommend this place to all the travelers.
Everything about the place was perfect. The room, the staff, the food, the location, the view, everything. Words can't describe how simply awesome my stay at this place was. Everything about your stay in Siwa will be taken care of here. Literally every factor you can think of regarding an accommodation was perfect. Mr Yasser and his team were simply fabulous.
NA
beautiful Siwan design and friendly, attentive host
long bus ride from anywhere
the stay was amazing, i will definitely come back and stay more days. perfect location with excellent view, every point of interest is easily accessible and the super helpful staff to best fulfill your experience. magical place.
Nothing
Everything, starting from the location in Dakrour mountain and the marvelous view, to the staff (Ali Noweigy) helpful, clean, smiley faces all the time, strongly helpful in every way, to the room and how clean, neat, beautiful, comfy & saving the tradition of SIWA in all it’s details, also the breakfast amazing that most of it from the plants growing around the rooms of the Grand SIWA Home, yes it’s a home of extraordinary art and beauty.
Nothing really at all
The hotel is very wonderful, characterized by calmness and a wonderful view. The rooms are very beautiful. I will definitely visit this hotel again.
The staff were fantastic and very welcoming. They had a nice camp fire going at night and offered decent food.
The rooms are decent, but a little more effort, they could be quite nice. in the winter, it can get down to 5c and the rooms are very cold.
Location, owner and staff, strong wifi, Yesser, Nadir, and Ali are wonderful. They help you set up everything you need for a great stay. Yesser has done a great job in design of accommodation. Food is prepared fresh with many organic herbs pulled right from the garden. Have some tea with lemongrass and mint. Yummy:) Location is phenomenal! It is located on Siwa's healing mountain. There is wonderful view of entire oasis. Salt Lakes are about a 10 minute drive. Great Sand Sea is about 10 min drive. Strong wifi. I had zoom meetings with my US clients with no issue. Will definitely return
Nothing
This place is an oasis within the oasis, located directly in a quiet village you feel an amazing atmosphere and vibe here! The stuff is very nice and friendly, food is amazing and the view incredible! Definitely a must stay, I will come again!
Beautiful scenery, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Incredible view of the Oasis from up high with the mountain right behind you with a salt cave onsite.. If you want a getaway that is removed from the tourist traps then Ali and Nader will definitely look after you. They really go out of their way for you and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend
Not much, was the perfect getaway for me - far removed from the crazy Cairo life. This is basic accommodation but with clean bathrooms and rooms - unlike stories that other tourists have posted
What a great place to stay. Siwa is a very hard city to get to, but once there, you will love its people and sights. We were lucky to stay at this hotel; they were so helpful, setting up all activities we requested and always there for us. While its location is removed from the city itself, it is very easy to get a toktok to drive you around. I highly recommend this place, you will love it.
The "wet bathroom" takes some getting used to, but the water is nice and hot. Also, if you choose to go on the "safari" you will love the desert sights but the driving will take years off your life 😅.
Very quite place, the staff super friendly, mr. Ali was taking care of me like family, people of siwa are so friendly and generous. I really enjoyed the stay and serenity 😌 something i was looking for long time especially with my crowded busy city life
Seriously nothing
I totally enjoyed my 4 nights stay. Room was clean, spacious and cozy. Place was very quiet. I had delicious breakfast every morning. Owner Ali and his staff were caring and very helpful. Location was great, just 17 minute walk to the Cleopatra spring and close to other attractions. I would definitely come back again.
Everything, the location, the hospitality. Very friendly, very helpful, very kind. Very honest. Ali and his workers are very genuine, they helped with all our tours.
Nothing, everything went great
The property is located in a typical Egyptian village - unmade roads, partially finished houses. Once inside, it is an oasis of calm, hospitality and kindness. Hot water, electricity, wifi, comfy beds, great home made food and after the chaos of Cairo & Alexandria, beautifully quiet. How the hosts managed to establish this in an area 300 miles from civilization is amazing. Getting around is easy, the host organized a driver who took me everywhere I wanted to go.
