Nossa estadia foi maravilhosa, os funcionarios sao extremamente atenciosos e cuidadosos conosco, em especial a Pronia, que foi muito gentil conosco. Nós vimos uma manada com mais de quinze elefantes bebendo agua no poço em frente ao hotel assim que chegamos, foi maravilhoso! O quarto é espetacular e a comida maravilhosa também, gostariamos de ter ficado mais, mas vivemos uma experiencia maravilhosa.

Personeel mega vriendelijk en persoonlijk. & de dagelijkse game safari’s zijn onvergetelijk!! We zouden zeker graag nog eens terugkomen!!

Rooms comfortable and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Safari drives were amazing, and the food was great.

We had an exceptional three-night stay at Black Rhino and genuinely believe it was our best overall experience in the Pilanesberg to date. The team were outstanding throughout. Pronia gave us such a warm welcome, Patricia and Agnes were always attentive and helpful, and Gontse’s professionalism and genuine care for guests really stood out. Our ranger Jason was exceptional. Having been on game drives for more than 30 years, we would rate him among the very best we have encountered. His knowledge and enthusiasm were remarkable, and one morning we saw an extraordinary 35 rhino, including three black rhino. The food was also excellent, with Head Chef Raymond and Chef Tapelo delivering some memorable meals, while Karabo, Levi and Nico kept us very well looked after at the bar. The team also went to great lengths to make our daughter’s 21st birthday and our wedding anniversary special. Wonderful game viewing, excellent food and, above all, genuinely exceptional people. We would return without hesitation.

De locatie was uniek. De gezamenlijke ruimtes met het zwembad en de vuurpit zijn zeer uitnodigend en gezellig. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk, je wordt echt in de watten gelegd. Helaas waren de safaris wat minder omdat de beesten zich goed hadden verstopt maar onze guide deed er echt alles aan om ons een leuke experience te geven. De braai was een hoogtepunt. Leuke ambiance, lekker eten. Echt top!

Gostamos de tudo, foi uma estadia maravilhosa. O hotel é lindo, calmo. Os quartos são excelentes e a comida deliciosa (e diferente também). Os safáris foram excelentes e também conseguimos ver os bichos chegando bem perto do hotel (inclusive os elefantes vindo tomar água bem próximo à piscina do hotel).

Os dois únicos problemas: na saída do quarto, no safári das 06:00 da manhã é muito escuro até chegar à recepção. Além disto, no quarto encontramos poucas tomadas para carregar celulares, relógios e power banks. Encontramos tomadas no alto, próximo às tomadas da TV mas um pouco difícil de carregar. O USB quando conectei não carregou.

Uma experiência incrível com todo conforto no meio da reserva Pilanesberg. Avistamos hipopótamo, girafa, elefante e javalis da varanda do hotel. Além de leões e outros “grandes” durante o Safari.

Beautiful property and exactly what we had hoped to experience with our safari. The staff was great, and we could see animals during the day on the property while enjoying afternoon tea!

Everything was great!

Staff were amazing from beginning to end.. Saw 4 of the big 5 almost every day. Black Rhino has its own private ""Park" and then the entey to the main park. Rangers / Guides were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Food was great. Boma dinner was a real treat.

Takes a while to go into the main park

This was the most wonderful holiday. From the welcome we received to the final goodbye, everything and everyone was top-notch, friendly and helpful. One of the top experiences was the elephants coming to the pool in the late afternoon.

Quando conseguimos chegar na recepção (poderia ser melhor sinalizado) fomos muito bem recepcionados. Atendentes atenciosos, educados e muito animados, todos eles. As instalações da sede são muito boas, confortáveis e limpas. São até luxuosas. O bangalô (quarto) que ficamos e o banheiro eram grandes, muito confortáveis e bem limpos. Cama muito boa, parece que 'abraçava a gente e fazia carinho', dormia confortável. Os safaris foram muito bons. As refeições eram muito boas, com exceção do almoço que achei muito fraco em comparação com as outras refeições... falarei isso na parte do que não gostei. Resumindo: achei muito bom, luxuoso, mas esperava mais principalmente do almoço pelo valor e pela alta procura que esse lodge possui.

Não gostei do almoço. Muito fraco. As opções pareciam 'lanche da tarde', pois não tinha comida de verdade, na concepção da palavra. Era apena um tipo de carne e o resto eram petiscos. Sobremesa também ficou a deseja. E só mais uma coisa: o banheiro tem parede de vidros, onde deveria haver cortina, pois, a noite, não conseguimos enxergar fora e atrás do muro (que não é alto) tem apoio onde alguém possa subir.

Estrutura sensacional no parque Pilanesberg. Safari ao amanhecer e ao entardecer inclusos na diária, e com uma excelente qualidade. Café da manhã maravilhoso, sendo servido após o primeiro safari, e ja tar oferecido após o segundo. Instalações belas e espaçosas. Área comum muito bonita. Localização me reserva privada com a presença de vários animais. Atendimento ótimo.

Único problema foi que após um dos hóspedes tomar banho, a água quente do quarto simplesmente acabou, creio que por ser abastecida individualmente, não retornando mesmo após 1 hora. Considerando que era inverno, tal fato impactou diretamente na qualidade da hospedagem desse dia, ao inviabilizar o uso do chuveiro.

The staff, without exception were friendly, helpful, fun and efficient. The game drives were brilliant and the guide had terrific knowledge.

One hilarious typical African faux pas. Our double shower has two hot water taps on one shower and two cold ones on the other which made us laugh uproariously.

Friendly and helpful staff.

The lodge is Most definitely NOT on a 5 star standard. Especially if you compare it to the other 5star lodges in the reserve. So that was disappointing. It was NOT VALUE for money. Didn't like the game drives. We are not oversees guests. Although we have been to the bush many many times, the guide can still make an effort to show and tell as interesting stuff about the bush. So the game drives was not nice. A passionate knowledgable guide thet connects with guests is key to game drives! Unfortunately we didn't have that. I will most definitely NOT go BACK to Black Rhino again.

Le personnel aux petits soins, nous avons reçu des petites attentions pour notre lune de miel. Les safaris avec Meghan au top on a vu pas mal d'animaux et le service au top avec des couvertures et bouillottes pour être bien au chaud. Séjour parfait, le lit très confortable et le petit déjeuner a la carte très bon également. Nous avons fait un massage en couple et c'était également parfait. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

We stayed for 2 nights and it was absolutely incredible. We did 4 game drives, and everything exceeded our expectations. The lodge has a beautiful infrastructure, the food is of exceptional quality, and the entire staff is extremely attentive and polite. A special shout-out to Agnes for her warm welcome, and to our ranger, Ruan, for his outstanding professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness during the safaris. We not only highly recommend Black Rhino Game Lodge, but we are already planning to return with our friends!

I’ve never stayed in a place where everybody is spontaneously happy. All the staff are there with passion and make your stay the best experience ever. I have to make a special compliment to Daniel and Karabo that made us feel home and completely peaceful. Also to Gontse that welcomed us and gave all the support from the beginning. The food is also amazing, the presentation, taste and quality of food is a high level experience thanks to chef Raymond. Our 4 game rides were with Megan. In order to resume, she is blessed. Every move she made was the best possible and always respecting the park rules. Thanks to her we experienced a herd of elephants (like 30 of them) passing through us really really close and 2 male lions passing right in front of our car because she parked us in the perfect spot. She turned the experience into another level. We saw lots of animals that I can’t even describe because I would keep writing a hole day. The hotel facilities are very good and well maintained. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again next time. I’ve never felt that good in a hotel in my life and and I’ve stayed in a lot already (32 countries visited). It has surpassed all my expectations. Thank you Black Rhino Game Lodge.

My partner and I both thought Black Rhino was our highlight for the SA trip. The room, exceptional staff, amazing food, unforgettable game drives made this an amazing getaway! We loved every moment we were there and can't wait to be back someday!

TUDO. Simplesmente, incrível! Estou apaixonada por cada detalhe pensado no bem estar dos hóspedes. Desde o momento que pisei no hotel, fui bem tratada! Todos os funcionários super gentis e cordiais! Realmente, a gente pode ver uma preocupação em cuidar dos hóspedes. Ainda ganhei um upgrade de quarto. As fotos do hotel já são boas, mas lá a gente pode ver que o local é mais fascinante ainda. The location is excellent with easy access into the reserve. The accommodation and general facilities were better than advertised and the Spa was outstanding (especially after a drive). The food was well presented and lots of it, looked to perfection and lots of choice. The bar is small but well stocked and you can sit inside or outside depending on the weather. The staff were outstanding and very helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

The public road on the way to the lodge is full of potholes and dumps so please drive carefully and NOT at night.

Amazing 5 star lodge all the staff were amazing our ranger Jason was so knowledgeable about all the animals and went above and beyond to make our game drives special, Raymond the chef is a legend and with the elephants showing up at the pool to amaze us was the best !

Great experience. O lodge não é all inclusive, mas inclui café da manhã e jantar. Inclui também 2 safaris por dia. O que torna muito mais em conta no final das contas. Tudo muito requintado. Hotel e equipe fantasticos. Parabens a Pretoria, que me atendeu em 2 dos dias que estive.

Highly recommended !! We stayed 3 nights. We did the game drives with them and our guide Cameron had a wide knowledge of the wild life and made each drive unique. Also the food was delicious ! This was a nice surprise. My wife, who’s celiac, could enjoy without being worried. They paid a lot of attention on gluten. Congratulation to the chef Raymond! Last but not least, everyone of the staff paid a lot of attention to all our needs. A special thanks goes to Mofenyi who took care to us from the first to the last minute. Thank you for the amazing stay !

Very a lovely place, worth it each penny

We just didn’t get luck to see all animals

Luxury accommodation while still feeling like it honours the natural environment. So many beautiful places to lounge and hang out on the property from the private decks where you can watch Impala in the trees, to the always perfectly presented poolside cabanas where you may see elephants visit! To the lovely leather couches and egg chair. The staff were incredible and the room AMAZING. Outdoor shower and deep bath tub were absolutely eco luxury. Just superb. I can’t recommend it enough. The hospitality, our safari ranger Cameron and all the staff went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. Shout out to the designers and gardeners of the lodge too! The safari drives were EPIC.

There is nothing I could fault

Hi everyone, I’d like to start this review by saying a huge thank you to everyone at Black Rhino Lodge. Every person we met made us feel not like clients, but like friends. It was a truly unique experience. We spent a week at the lodge and went on 14 game drives, each one different from the last. Guided by Cameron, our incredible field guide, we learned about the Big Five, birds, antelopes, plants, survival in the bush, how to read animal behaviour, and so much more. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five, including the black rhino. Buffalo had not been spotted in the area for some time, and we were advised to keep our expectations low. On our final morning drive, Cameron chose to remain in an area where he suspected they might be nearby. To our amazement, there they were — a huge herd of buffalo moving quickly across the landscape. Just like that, we completed our Big Five sightings on our very last drive. It was unforgettable. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. They were especially welcome during an afternoon of heavy rain, when we relaxed between game drives and enjoyed a leopard documentary on the large TV with Netflix provided by the lodge. Housekeeping was impeccable throughout our stay. The food deserves a special mention. It’s difficult to choose a favourite meal. We enjoyed buffet dinners in the tent, à la carte gourmet dinners on the deck, and traditional Boma evenings. Everything was delicious, varied, and beautifully presented. Breakfast and high tea were equally impressive. Seeing elephants and hippos visiting the lodge’s swimming pool was surreal and added to the magic of the experience. Thank you again to everyone at Black Rhino Lodge for making our stay truly unforgettable.

Het personeel is ontzettend aardig, de kamers zijn ruim en het ontbijt is erg goed!

Er was wat miscommunicatie, eerst met onze boeking (wat netjes werd opgelost) maar dat gebeurde vaker. Verder verbleven wij 3 nachten, waarvan we 2 avonden buffet in de avond kregen. Wij zijn geen fan van buffet dus dat viel tegen, omdat de foto’s en info op booking a la carte lieten zien. Misschien hadden wij net pech qua dagen..

Amazing food and super friendly staff in a fabulous location

We came for a few days at the end of our trip to South Africa and for my birthday. It was a wonderful experience that we both very much enjoyed. Each evening we went out on a shorter game drive (about 2h), stopping for a drink and snack partway. Each morning, we went out on a long game drive (up to 5h), again stopping partway for a drink and biscuits. Clifford took us out on our game drives and he was very knowledgeable, telling us about the animals, birds and plants that we saw. While out on our game drives, we saw elephants, lions, a cheetah, rhino, hippos, giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest, a leopard tortoise along with many birds and some other smaller animals. The drives take place across the private Black Rhino reserve as well as going into Pilanesberg national park with the animals able to move freely between both areas. The room we stayed in was excellent, it was very spacious, the showers (inside and outside) were good and the hot-tub was also enjoyable to sit in. The pool was also next to a watering hole which animals would come to on occasion, with us seeing Impala there during our stay. The food served was all very tasty and the chef chatted with us a few times to check that we were enjoying the food and to see if there was anything he could do to improve our stay. My partner requested warthog which was then served that night while the following evening, the chef made me a custom starter (butternut squash ravioli) due to me being vegetarian. Additionally, the staff were all very attentive and ensured that if there was anything we wanted or needed, it was done for us. Overall, it was an excellent stay that we both very much enjoyed with our only complaint being that we had to go home and couldn't stay longer. We plan to come back on a future trip to South Africa, whenever that may be.

Our only issue is that it was raining heavily on the day we arrived which made us unsure how the game drives would be and if we'd see much or if the animals would be sheltering from the rain instead and we'd be unable to find them. Despite this, we went on the drive that evening, the rain stopped and we saw a number of animals along with a wonderful sunset. It was similar the next morning as there had been a thunderstorm overnight with it raining as we went out but again, the rain cleared up quickly and we ended up having the best game drive of our stay that morning due to seeing some of the rarer animals (cheetah and serval cat).
