Super Unterkunft im Dschungel und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Anwesen ist mind. 30 Minuten zu Fuss vom Zentrum entfernt aber entlang am Strand war es toll zu spazieren oder man bestellt einfach ein UBER. Frühstück war in beiden Restaurants hervorragend. Ab und zu konnte man Affen und andere Dschungeltiere beobachten. Also wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und können es nur Empfehlen.

Nicht gefallen ist übertrieben. Die täglichen 158 Stufen wo wir mehrmals am Tag gemacht haben, können mit der Zeit schon anstrengend sein. Vorallem wenn es heiss und feucht ist. Aber ein Transport wäre immer ready wenn man diesen benötigt.

Het appartement lag in het oerwoud met af en toe apen (2 soorten) in de bomen en struiken voor het balkon. Prachtige uitzichten en heel lekker eten. Wij vonden het geweldig.

Niks. Ons appartement lag redelijk bovenaan een steile helling/bergje. Als je geen zin had om te lopen, appte je de accommodatie en brachten ze je met de auto. Ook naar het restaurant aan de andere kant van de weg.

This was perhaps the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in, and we're retired. The bedroom was large, the bed super comfortable and the view spectacular. The bathroom was clean, modern and spacious. The living area was well equipped, tastefully decorated and a perfect place to relax looking across the jungle to the sea. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. Nothing was to much trouble. The attention to detail was generally outstanding. Great breakfast with good choices. Restaurantsf or evening meals also good and reasonably priced in a beautiful setting. We would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful place for a holiday. We were at the top of the resort which gave us a fabulous view. Restaurants at the resort were very good, staff were exceptional

Just be aware that there are alot of stairs but Ambong provides a shuttle to get up and down.

Ambong Rainforest Retreat was such a beautiful haven. We loved all the wildlife and nature around us. You can watch monkeys from the trees whilst you eat breakfast. The vegan restaurant was also delicious. You must try the Japanese restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Incredible Japanese food!

Das Retreat liegt toll im Regenwald, Tiersichtungen möglich, man kann jedoch den Ort noch fußläufig erreichen, so dass man dort auch die Restaurants besuchen kann. Sehr freundliche und persönliche Betreuung, toller Pool zur Allin Ut tzung.

Die Handtücher sowohl am Pool als auch im Zimmers hole mal erneuert werden. Man muss bedenken, dass es jedes Mal viele Stufen zu laufen sind, da sich die Häuschen am Hang befinden (Shuttle jedoch jederzeit möglich). Die Frühstückskarte sollte alle 2-3 Tage wechseln in Klammer für ein Haus dieser Kategorie erwarte ich beim Frühstück mehr Abwechslung und möchte nicht an drei Tagen das selbe frühstücken).

De vriendelijkheid van het personeel, ze waren heel behulpzaam. De verblijven liggen hoger en het is telkens een steile klim maar we werden steeds vervoerd met de wagen, een berichtje via WhatsApp volstond. Super ontbijt. Er zijn 2 restaurants, vegan en normaal. Kortom, super verblijf gehad bij Ambon!! Het Rimba restaurant is ook een aanrader, lekker eten en met een prachtig zicht, ook voor de zonsondergang.

De locatie op zich is schitterend maar ligt wat afgelegen. Dus toch wel telkens een wandeling naar het drukkere gedeelte met de restaurants en bars.

Um pequeno oásis no meio de Langkawi! Próximo do centro, mas instalado numa colina muito sossegada, o que nos dá a total sensação de ficar imerso na floresta. A companhia dos animais nativos na floresta à nossa volta (macacos, pequenos lagartos, pássaros) torna a experiência ainda mais imersiva. Os alojamentos são excelentes, elegantes sem serem luxuosos, muito confortáveis e limpos. A simpatia e disponibilidade do staff tornou a nossa estadia ainda mais agradável.

Os serviços extras não são muito abundantes, mas tal não era um critério fundamental para a nossa estadia

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast at both Pegaga and Rimba was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. Drinks and dinner were amazing too. Room was great and spacious.

Loved how lush and tucked away the bungalows are - very clean and exceptionally lovely staff! Would visit again when in Langkawi, for sure!

The setting, the staff, the comfort and a number of little special gestures that makes you smile, observing forest life from the comfort of our balcony - what we’d hoped for by choosing this place, it didn’t disappoint! The Rimba Restaurant served up good breakfasts (great nasi lemak) and meals. Nearby club resort does pump out the music in the late afternoon and evenings, though not every night and always thankfully ends by 1am, as far as we’re aware. I would still recommend staying at Ambong - this one annoyance didn’t take away from our stay over all (take earplugs if a light sleeper).

Beautiful room high in the trees with view of the beach and sea. Very comfortable, great AC and nice to have a little kitchen area. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly - they were always on hand to pick you up for breakfast or dinner or drop you down at the beach - I never waited more than a few minutes. The restaurant had probably the best food in the area and it was a delight to go for breakfast, sunset cocktails and dinner overlooking beautiful island views. I also ordered room service one evening which came promptly and was great.

Didn't really get a chance to use the pool as is surrounded by vegetation and a lot of mosquitoes around. Similarly, the vegan restaurant with its open windows - constantly worrying about getting bitten! Perhaps some strong citronella or keep some insect repellant around for guests? It would have been nice to have some music around that area of the hotel too to create a little atmosphere as it was a little too quiet. Nevertheless I had a wonderful stay.

Rainforest paradise. Wonderful location immersed in the rainforest. Monkeys, giant squirrels, birds all around. Room was very comfortable with lots of big windows in all directions to soak up the rainforest views. Staff were super friendly and always helpful. A wonderful stay.

Gorgeous villas surrounded by trees and nature. Feels like you’re in a treehouse from a children’s storybook! I absolutely adored the decor and the little touches around both the rainforest villa and the pool villa. The food was truly exceptional, especially the high tea they served in our villa. The staff are so smiley and kind. They all went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I will recommend this villa.

The location was stunning and the 2 bedroom cottage was wonderful and very clean. There were drinks in the fridge and a beautiful cake welcoming us , so thoughtful 😊

- lovely room in beautiful surroundings, but be prepared for an uphill climb with lots of steps! - great staff (especially Nizal and Ummi!) who were very responsive - delicious breakfast, generous portions. We highly recommend the Roti Canai. - very close to a more private, secluded beach than Pantai Cenang.

- we ate at the Rimba restaurant for dinner one evening. The food was average and quite pricey compared to other places we have tried in Malaysia!

We (couple) came for an amazing 4 night stay. From arrival to departure, it couldn’t have been better. Every staff member we interacted with was genuine, helpful, and pleasant. This may be the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The breakfast provided by the property was delicious each day and this place was a paradise for animal lovers. Two species of monkeys, multiple bird species, and more that we come across during our stay. Lee and the rest of the staff were such a blessing each day. Highly recommend for all nature lovers.

I loved everything!

One of my favourite moments for my holiday was at Ambong. I love wildlife, so floating in the pool surrounded by monkeys, squirrels and birds was incredible. Staff were lovely and rooms were large and nicely decorated with fresh filtered cold water and a welcome dessert. Food in the restaurant was delicious and I loved the monkey guest.

Bed was too hard for me. Not suitable for anyone who can't do stairs or steep driveways, but you expect that in a rainforest on a hill.

A small hotel for nature lovers. We watched monkeys and birds from the balcony every day. The hotel is located on a hill, making the climb particularly challenging. However, the hotel provides a shuttle service to the beach and a neighboring hotel, where breakfast is also available. The staff is very polite and pleasant, always willing to help.

Internet isn't very good. The restaurant prices are a bit high.

Ich kann mich den positiven Bewertungen nur anschließen! Nach drei Wochen Malaysiarundreise eines der besten Hotels. Die schlechten Bewertungen für das Essen kann ich nicht teilen. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen im Rimbarestaurant waren ausreichend und schmackhaft. Die Aussicht einfach fantastisch. Der Fahrservice innerhalb der Anlage klappt hervorragend.

Le top a tout les niveaux. Sue surclassement proposé dans les villas avec piscine privée a dépassé nos espérances. Une immersion dans la nature avec nos amis espiègles les singes. Un régal. Posez-vous juste sur un transat et attendez la nature vient à vous. Personnels exceptionnels rarement vus ailleurs. Hébergement hors norme à Langkawi.

Impossible de trouver quelque chose à redire

Wat een oase van rust en gastvrijheid hebben we ervaren bij Ambong! We zochten naar een charmant en authentiek verblijf, verbonden met de natuur en werden niet teleurgesteld. Het uitzicht vanuit de comfortabele kamer en het balkon was adembenemend. We kregen bezoek van nieuwsgierige aapjes en zagen ook eekhoorns en hornbills. Het resort ligt op een steile heuvel wat het uitzicht ook zo mooi maakt. Het ongekend vriendelijke personeel bracht ons met een glimlach steeds de heuvel op (want in de hitte is de klim best uitdagend). We hebben ook genoten van de yoga, van de massage en van het restaurant Rimba wat vooral met zonsondergang magisch uitzicht biedt. Lief team van Ambong; bedankt en tot ziens!

Geen klachten! Wel een tip; laat geen eten slingeren en doe tassen en balkon deur dicht wanneer je niet wil dat de aapjes je spullen plunderen. Wij verloren een croissantje maar konden er hartelijk om lachen.

Die Lage ist toll. Personal sehr aufmerksam! Die Kommunikation per Whatsapp funktioniert sehr gut. Uns wurde nach einem Tag eine Poolvilla angeboten und wir sind dann umgezogen. Das Feeling, im Dschungel zu sein, war sehr schön, obwohl man nur 2 Minuten von der Straße entfernt war. Sehr schöner Aufenthalt! Das Personal hat uns auch Restauranttipps gegeben, haben wir ausprobiert, waren super. Man wird bei Bedarf kreuz und quer durch die Anlage gefahren, die Fahrer sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man wird vom ersten Tag an mit Namen angesprochen.

Leider ist das Restaurant nicht dem Rest der Anlage entsprechend. Die Lage ist sehr schön, aber das Essen hat uns nicht zugesagt. Bei solch einer tollen Anlage erwartet man eigentlich ein entsprechendes Restaurant. Wir waren einmal dort zum Abendessen und waren sehr enttäuscht, da die Preise ja auch nicht niedrig sind. Beim Frühstück sollte die Brotauswahl dringend überdacht werden. Es gibt eine Sorte Toast, dieser ist getoastet und hat eine Konsistenz von Zwieback.

Studio was nice too, room was good, but we upgraded to villas, so actually we were in a villa, not the retreat. Those were amazing. Staff was very helpful and kind.

Mega saubere und komfortable Unterkunft. Personal sehr freundlich. Schöner kleiner Pool. Das vegane Restaurant ist super. Zum frühstück würden wir lieber nur in das Restaurant des Partnerhotels gehen. Dieses ist jederzeit möglich und der Hotelshuttle fährt einen auch gerne rüber. Nicht gefallen ist zu viel gesagt. Aber die Treppen zu den Hotelzimmern haben einen Sportcharakter. Nur für fitte Menschen, wirklich zu empfehlen. Ansonsten einfach nur ein Traum, mit etwas Abstand zu dem Trubel des Chenang Beach. - Es empfiehlt sich ein GRAB Account

De locatie in de natuur, mooie ruime lichte kamer. Zeer vriendelijke personeel. Rustige omgeving maar toch dichtbij strand en andere restaurantjes. De aapjes en vogels die je kan zien vanaf je balkon. Heerlijk ontbijt

Niets negatiefs op te merken, alles was perfect. Trappen lopen omhoog kan een uitdaging zijn bij een slechte conditie maar er is altijd een shuttlebusje aanwezig om je naar boven en beneden te brengen.

A peaceful, secluded and elegant retreat surrounded by jungle and home to so much wildlife. Excellent amenities and superb staff. Had some excellent body work as well.

We stayed at the highest suite, which gave us fabulous views and intimacy with the local flor and fauna. It also involved a LOT of stairs up from the main house and the parking lot.

We had an amazing stay at Ambong Rainforest Retreat. We rented a two-bedroom cottage spread over three levels, completely immersed in the tropical rainforest — truly an exceptional setting. The cottage was very spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. Waking up in the middle of the rainforest was a unique and unforgettable experience. And yet, it’s only a 10-minute walk to the beach, which makes the location absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking for a peaceful and unique stay in Langkawi.

The hotel is set high up in the jungle and from our balcony we saw a troupe of monkeys swing in the trees, a black squirrel and even a yellow hornbill. The room was beautiful and felt very secluded and private. We loved the wellness facilities on the site and had relaxing massages. The staff were so attentive and anticipated our every need. There are 2 restaurants to choose from both with lovely food and views. We had a very special evening watching the sunset from the Rimba restaurant.

We had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. The lush greenery provides a hideaway from the Langkawi heat, facilities are beautiful. Room was spacious and had everything we needed and more. There was a wonderful view from the balcony. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay is comfortable. The property is steep but there is a car which can give you a little lift whenever needed. To be fair the little climb or decent is actually quite pleasant anyway. Breakfast is delicious, with both local and western flavor options. Yoga provided in the hotel is a great addition in a beautiful space. There is even a little medicinal herbal garden you can walk through on the side. The spa has nice and aesthetic facility. The location is very close to beaches and lots of other nice restaurants, it’s very easy to either walk over or take a quick car through Grab. All in all we had a wonderful time staying here and would recommend anyone to come here!

We had a lovely few days at Ambong Ambong. It is a very unique stay in the rainforest- you can see lots of monkeys and other wildlife and the views are incredible. The staff are lovely and always there to give you a lift up the hill or help with a question. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was also lovely with the option of going to Rimba restaurant or Pegaga. We also liked the yoga classes and had a lovely massage. Overall a great stay!

Absolutely stunning hotel, rooms secluded in the rainforest canopy. We felt welcomed from the first moment we arrived. We had a tasty drink and quick shoulder/neck massage. Staff were just superb shuttling us up and down and over to the sister resort and restaurant for breakfast. Lovely choices for breakfast and we had dinner there twice, worth it to see the sunset. We had an early check out so they kindly provided a continental breakfast for us, leaving it in the fridge when we were out. Housekeeping came several times a day so the rooms were just immaculate. Free drinks in the room, great little kitchenette, lovely balcony with views overlooking the Andaman Sea. Took advantage of the spa therapy room - excellent One of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at. Monkeys could be cheeky just heed the advice and don’t encourage them by feeding.

Le personnel aux petits soins, la grande chambre et la literie! Le petit déjeuner végan était délicieux et la possibilité d'aller en manger un non végan à 2min de l'établissement était bien. La vue sur la nature et la possibilité de voir des singes (et d'autres animaux) tout près était fantastique.

Dommage que le petit déjeuner non-vegan ne soit pas d'aussi bonne qualité que le vegan. Les belles plages sont plus loins, il faut prendre une voiture pour s'y rendre (les plages les plus proches ne sont pas idéales et appartiennent à de gros resorts - mais ce n'est pas de la faute de Ambong Hotel)

De ligging tussen de bomen waardoor de aapjes op je balkon komen en je veel verschillende vogels ziet. Daarnaast geweldige staf die van alles voor je willen regelen en super vriendelijk zijn. De laatste dag hadden we een villa met prive zwembad en dat was echt op een top luxe. Het ligt op loopafstand van 1 van de rustigere stranden van langkawi, ook heel fijn dus.

Everything about Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat is perfect. The staff are all incredible, they make you feel so welcome and all take so much pride in the place. The rooms are a little slice of heaven and you can lose hours on the balcony listening to the sounds of the rainforest and spotting all the wildlife. Dusky Leaf monkeys will melt your heart, the cheeky brown monkeys will have you giggling and keeping a close eye on all your belongings…..including your breakfast if you’re not paying attention, which one poor guest didn’t which only provided more laughs for us! And those breakfasts! No wonder the monkeys wanted them. Utterly delicious and gorgeously presented. You can not fault this place at all, it made us ridiculously happy, you even find fun in the steep walks to/from your room

The resort and room was very nice and the staff was also super kind and helpful. The resort is a bit far from the more touristy areas but we just used Grab which was very efficient and cheap.

We experienced that the breakfast service at the vegan restaurant was very slow. However, it was great at Rimba Restuarant.

We really enjoyed the nature aspect of the hotel and the wildlife such as the monkeys. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating and always happy to help. The rooms were nice and clean too.

It was almost always a workout to get to our room as the rooms are on a steep hill. The bathroom had a bit of a funky smell coming from the drains too. But wasn’t anything overbearing.

Large spacious room perched on a steep hill overlooking the ocean and hills. The room was clean and staff service was very very good. A family of monkeys (7 of them) enjoyed our balcony very much from time to time. Vegan breakfast and dinner was good but not as good as we had experienced elsewhere. My wife enjoyed the group yoga in the mornings. Pool offered a refreshing dip.

The wifi was spotty or unpredictable.

Die unglaubliche Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals hat uns am meisten imponiert - man fühlt sich einfach Willkommen, das Personal hilft wo es kann und ist immer mit einem Lächeln zur Stelle gewesen - großartig! Unsere Unterkunft (Baumwipfelstudio - Tepur 3) entsprach nicht nur unseren Erwartungen, sie wurden übertroffen. Als Natur- und Tierliebhaber kommt man hier voll auf seine Kosten: Vom eigenen Balkon kann man hautnah verschiedenste Tiere beobachten, sei es der morgendlichen Besuch der (frechen) Makaken-Affen die immer auf der Suche nach etwas essbarem sind, oder die Languren-Affen die gechillt in den Baumwipfeln wandern, bis hin zu Rieseneichhörnchen, Geckos an den Balkonwänden und auf dem Areal fanden sich auch kleinere Warane. Das Frühstück bietet zwei Restaurantoptionen (Veganes Restaurant "Pegaga", bin kein Vegetarier, aber das Frühstück war mein absoluter Favorit, tolle Auswahl an Frühstücksoptionen - sowie das Rimba-Restaurant, welches fussläufig in 5 Minuten oder mit dem hauseigenen Fahrservices auf dem Areal der Pool-Villas zu erreichen ist. Das Rimba bietet auch Abends erstklassiges Essen (höherpreisig aber durchweg gerechtfertigt) an und hat zudem eine tolle Dachterrasse zum Sonnenuntergang. Der Zimmerservice war ebenfalls sehr gut (2x am Tag frisches Trinkwasser in Flaschen, reinigen, Handtücher frisch, etc.) - die Unterkunft lies keine Wünsche offen. Wir können nach 9 Nächten das Ambong Rainforest Retreat uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden die Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen. Da sich das Anwesen am Rand von Pantai Cenang, eingebettet am einem kleinen Berg/Hügel in den Regenwald befindet, empfehlen wir zur Erkundung der Insel das Anmieten eines Rollers oder Mietwagens - alternativ kostengünstige Taxis verfügbar.

El entorno es espectacular, las habitaciones están en la selva con vista al mar. El personal es el mas amable que hayamos visto. Además sus restaurantes tienen una vista increíble y buena comida. El desayuno buenísimo y abundante. Todo estaba muy limpio y ordenado.

It was a fabulous 4 nights stay at Ambong Ambong with my sister! We chose a double room, which was nestled in nature. The best experience I’ve ever had in a resort. The staff were very warm & hospitable, attends to our WhatsApp messages speedily, and always ready to greet us with a smile & recommendations. Despite the steep slopes that the resort was located in, it was easy to navigate as we could contact the staff via WhatsApp and they would appear in minutes with a car to drive us up and down the resort, as well as to the neighbouring Rimba restaurant if needed. We even had monkeys visiting our balcony, and enjoyed the free morning yoga session once, during our visit. As a vegetarian, my dietary restrictions were allayed with the wide range of breakfast options in Pegaga and Rimba restaurant to choose from. It is an excellent resort to stay, if you have vegetarians and non-vegetarians travelling together, and want a homely resort nestled in nature! One of a kind experience in Langkawi!

Steep slope can be difficult to walk up and down without relying on the staff’s car to drive up and down.

Ambong is a very nicely thought about retreat. Cabins are along a steep curvy road, surrounded by nature. The cabins are large, comfortable and well build. The staff is super helpful and fun to chat with. They actually add “vacation value” to the place! They offer complementary car transport up and down the hill but also to their sister hotel a little further up the street. Before i came i expected not to need this but i ended up anyway. It is actually an important service regardless of fitness

Wir hatten eine tollen Aufenthalt im Ambong Rainforest Retreat. Unser Zimmer (Canopy Studio) war groß und immer perfekt sauber. Der Service war perfekt, zwei mal am Tag kam das House-Keeping Team, einmal morgens, einmal abends zur Vorbereitung auf die Nacht. Alle Mitarbeiter waren aufrichtig freundlich und haben auch untereinander viel gelacht, die Stimmung war sehr gut. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch der Fahrservice, der einen jederzeit die steilen Wege vom Zimmer zu den Restaurants und zurück fährt. Das Essen in beiden Restaurants war köstlich, das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und von sehr guter Qualität. Unser gesamter Aufenthalt hätte nicht besser sein können. Die Lage im Regenwald ist unglaublich!

It was a beautiful place to stay for the start to our babymoon. The room was perfect, great amenities, clean, spacious. Our highlight was the staff, all so welcoming and friendly. Nizal went above and beyond to make our stay easy and welcoming. Thank you ♥️

The location was brilliant and unique, the room was clean, big and comfortable. The veranda was our favourite place. We had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was great and with a good choice. The staff went out of their way to help with everything, including driving us around. We loved everything about Ambong, and we will definitely be back

Beautiful room with a peaceful vibe. Stunning view and extremely helpful staff. Loved the morning yoga and delicious breakfast. Great location and we could even pre-order our breakfast before heading down to eat.

Es war alles toll. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt mit Erfrischungsgetränk. Auch der Kühlschrank war gefüllt. Es wird täglich gereinigt. Die Unterkunft war durch und durch sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und wunderschön ruhig im Dschungel gelegen. Ab und zu hat man ein paar kleine Besucher zu Gast, darüber wurden wir aber im Vorfeld informiert. Von 8 bis 9 Uhr findet kostenfrei Yoga statt. Es gibt ein veganes Frühstücksbuffet und ein normales mit allem was man sich wünscht. Uns wurde auch kostenfrei ein Late Check out angeboten, da wir nach 12 Uhr Check out noch Zeit bis zum Flug hatten. Es wird mit viel Herzblut betrieben, ist familiär und lädt zum entspannen ein. Empfehlen können wir besonders das nah gelegene japanische haizan Restaurant.

Only thing I can think of is the lights on air conditioner is the brightest I have ever seen and could keep me up before I covered it

Spacious comfortable room. Lovely birthday welcome. Nice balcony with a view. The pool is small but nice. Wonderful hospitality. Car transfer is quick with a smile

We expected stairs but didn’t realised they were all outdoors. It’s located further away although some shops and restaurants are walking distance.
