The location is great

As previously said in reviews the kitchen appliances are really bad! There’s a microwave but no containers to heat food. No cling wrap. No sharp knives. It just needs a few essentials to make it a much better place to stay. Overall it’s comfortable but needs a lot of maintenance

Location was beautiful, nestled in the bush. Bed was very comfortable we both had a really good sleep.

Location

Poor signage to locate the property

No surprise that the picture of the unit features the bathroom. Coolest part of the rental. Otherwise, the bottom unit we stayed in was equivalent to any clean motel room. Being surrounded by nature was cool at first, but it was hard to venture out b/c of the bugs.

Humidity caused room to have a slight smell, which really bothered my daughter. Kitchen was not adequately equipped for cooking. One dull knife, the size of a paring knife, was provided. Lastly, although the unit has wifi, there is no phone service for urgent/emergency calls unless you have WiFi calling, which fortunately I had with my American carrier.

Did not live up to what i was expecting from this stay. Bathroom was very small and cramped.

We enjoyed the quiet location

There was nothing that we didn’t really like. There was a strong curry smell when we got to the room which remained for the stay. That was a pity but not the manager’s fault but the previous guests, I suspect. The entry door needs a little adjustment as we had trouble locking it.

Spacious and well appointed. Lovely space in the rainforest. Open deck with forest views.

Could use a couple more cooking pots.

Sehr neues gut ausgestattete Unterkunft mit orginellem, sehr modernen Badezimmer. Sehr gut gelegen, um Punakaiki zu erkunden.

Leider hatten wir das Zimmer Miro im Erdgeschoss. Es war sehr dunkel und der Ausblick (grosses Fenster) ging auf den Parkplatz. Die Unterkunft war durch ihre Lage im Wald sehr feucht, sodass der Entfeuchter konstant laufen musste. Die Fenster konnten wegen den vielen Mücken nicht geöffnet werden, da keine Mückengitter vorhanden waren. Ausserdem wurde konstant via elektrischem Dispenser ein Anti-Mücken-Mittel im Zimmer verteilt, was Kopfschmerzen verursachte. Eventuell sind die höher gelegenen Zimmer besser.

Absolutely loved our stay here. What a wonderful peaceful setting. Loved the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the place was very clean. We were sad we had to leave.

The setting was wonderful, the bathroom a delight, and the bed very comfortable.

We had problems finding it,as turned off too early and some other accomodation had the same name as our room name which misdirected us. It was late evening, dark and raining, and the bin was in the way of the sign which once found only showed the name of one room, not the other two we were looking for. It took 20 mins of confused searching.

Secluded accommodation.

Lack of proper hot plate. Temporary one was fidgety and not great to use. No pasta strainer either I know thin walls were mentioned in the ad but if you’re really sensitive to noise, this place isn’t for you

My only beef is we didn’t have a coffee maker (Yanks) just a kettle for tea. Otherwise great.

Les places de parking sont limitées. Quand tous les 4 logements sont occupés, et si l'un des locataires vient en plus avec un gros véhicule, c'est délicat de garer sa voiture ou de partir ! J'ai été confronté à une situation où l'un de mes voisins a un gros camping car qui occupe pas mal de place.

Ons appartement was op de 'begane grond' van het Treehouse, wat het redelijk donker maakte. Vrijwel geen (uit) zicht naar buiten. Tevens rook het vreemd binnen. Eerst dachten we dat de vorige gasten sterk geurend eten gekookt hadden, maar het bleek een vocht probleem te zijn. Vandaar ook de ontvochter. Verhuurder had ons hierover niet geînformeerd.

Grande douche, belle céramique, Par contre le plancher était froid.

L'odeur d'humidité, heureusement qu'il y avait un déshumidificateur. J'ai d'ailleurs nettoyé le filtre (qui en avait besoin) ainsi que le fond du récipient, d'eau. Comme l'appartement est au rez-de-chaussée, c'est très sombre à cause de la végétation très dense qui entoure la bâtisse et le balcon du 2ème étage qui avance de plusieurs pieds au dessus de notre porte patio. Le tapis était propre, mais c'est une mauvaise idée dans la section cuisine. Suggestion fournir un linge pour pouvoir essuyer comptoir, table etc. comme on en retrouve normalement dans les cuisines.

Very usual place - like being in the middle of the jungle. Various rooms upstairs and one downstairs - we weren't totally clear about this on arrival. Parking would be difficult if all accommodation full with separate people. Decoration of bathrooms amazing with sea or jungle themes (in our case).

No views but didn't matter as only there to sleep. A bit noisy if others arrive late or leave early as no other sounds other than birds. Some did the former and we did the latter so probably fair all round!

Nothing. Was as I expected. I was a little concerned what my wife would think of the experience but she found it very good.

The location was hard to find and we didn’t know there were 4 guests/accommodation in the one treehouse

Sharp Kitchen knife needs replacing (not sharp & too flimsy) Sat on verandah for a bit, but then, too many insects. Went inside. Was in NIKAU room (could hear tv next door). Not separated by a wall, only a door.

Location

The mattress which is described as a double were 2 singles pushed together. I would better describe the mattresses as a bag of springs. I attempted to sleep on the floor it was so uncomfortable, but there were no additional blankets pillows or sheets. We spent 14 days in NZ this was the only bed that was horrific. 15 years of booking hotels for myself and for work have never slept on such an uncomfortable bed in my life. My partner woke up with a bruise on her thigh from one of the springs being so bad on her side of the bed. Such a shame cos they clearly spent money elsewhere on the unit.

The reception never ansewers the phone

We were in the Nikau studio. It was clean and well equipped. Very nice balcony in the rainforest.

It had rained all Day and the room was very humid and we could smell the odor of humidity. We were not able to eat on the balcony and there was no real comfortable place to eat inside as the Stools were too Highfor the counter. We had to eat on the Small coffee table.

A nice apartment with a great balcony right among the trees.

A bit too far to walk to the center but then there isn’t really one anyway.

Mooie en rustige plek midden in het bos. Je loopt zo een mooie wandelroute op. De weka’s lopen om het huis. Het is rolstoeltoegankelijk. Goede wasmachine.

Wij vonden het appartement op de begane grond wat vochtig en zouden een volgende keer voor een hoger gelegen appartement kiezen.

The Miro Room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Good shower.

Miro is under the decking of the rooms above amongst the forest, so it was dark and quite musty. However a night ensued of NO SLEEP due to a large tree growing through the middle of he decking above us and with the breeze it screeched,groaned and thumped all night long. This was amplified beside our bed and SO loud it was impossible to sleep!! The owners need to increase the size of the hole to allow the tree to move without impacting the deck and our room below. After talking with the Reservations Manager,who then spoke with the owners just a 20% discount was offered on this $240.00 per night we paid. SO disappointing all round as we had high expectations for Treetops!

Wenn man abseits von allem sein möchte, liegt es super mitten im Wald mit allem ausgestattet was man möchte.

Gute Lage nahe an den Pancake Rocks, modern gestaltet und gut ausgestattet. Kostenfreier überdachter Parkplatz.

Im Apartment roch es sehr nach Essen, vor allem nach älterem Fett, besonders in den Küchenschränken. Auch war das Gebäude sehr schlecht isoliert, so dass es bei starkem Regen innen sehr klamm war, fast wie in einem Zelt.

The set-up was really pleasant. It was a lovely place. Staff were good. We appreciated the effort that goes into running places like this.

The only thing was the value for money. We found it an expensive place to stay, and for the price expected those little extras which weren't there- like an extra blanket, sharp kitchen knives. The reality of not having a resident manager was that we had to bother the staff via email, and the housekeeper came just once a day. Again, it was all manageable, and staff were responsive, it's just that for the price, we expected something different.

The key was kept in a lockbox. The code was communicated via Booking.com messenger weeks before. So we did not stress on the road to this place (we travelled Hong Kong - Auckland - Christchurch - Punakaiki on that day!). The lodge is secluded and surrounded by native forest, with ponga tree ferns literally touching the house. Quiet. Comfy. Good bed. Close to Pororari River Track and Punanaiki blow holes.

Very little actually. A broken mirror. A little dust in the bathroom... No reason for you to hesitate, :)

I think the photos don’t do justice to this property. The room looks very welcoming, the bed is comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Great and quiet location

Liked the idea of a treehouse but we were under the treehouse which was a bit dark.

We didn't like the darkness. Couldn't sit outside as you were under a deck.

Close by to pancake rocks and beautiful raw West Coast beaches

A door to one of the rooms was really jammed and hard to open and close. The room on the lower floor is quite dark and the main view is straight onto the car park but it depends what you want function wise.

Great location. Close to pancake rocks. Nice short walk to the beach/cliffs. Very good shower and free laundry. We loved staying here.

Die Lage mitten im Wald ist schön und nicht zu weit weg von Pancake Rocks

1. Die Wohnung Miro hat total muffig gerochen. 2. Die Wohnung war total feucht und teilweise schimmelig. 3. Der Luftentfeuchter hat die Luftfeuchtigkeit nicht genug senken können und den muffigem Geruch nicht entfernt. Der Entfeuchter war so laut, dass man damit nicht schlafen konnte. 4. Der Baum der mitten durch die Terrasse ging, war so morsch und schwankte so hin und her und schien einsturzgefährdet. Dies hätte die Terrasse und ggf. dann auch das Haus beschädigt. Es ist meines Erachtens lebensgefährlich hier zu übernachten. Außerdem war es so laut, das schlagende Geräusch gegen die die Terrasse (51 Dezibel), dass ich die Nacht im Auto verbracht habe. Zudem die Gefahr eines Einsturzes. 5. Der Eigentümer hat weder auf die Anrufe von uns noch von Booking reagiert und keine Kompensation angeboten. Fazit: ich warne hier zu übernachten! Das war die schlimmste Unterkunft die wir jemals auf unseren Reisen hatten

De locatie is prachtig. Midden in het regenwoud en op loopafstand van de mooie kust.

Het huis was erg vochtig. Nadeel is dat je niet kunt luchten omdat er dan veel muggen binnenkomen. Horren zijn er niet en ook geen airco.

Its style over substance for amount you pay everything looks fancy but not practical. Basin is so small you cannot wash your face or clean teeth without getting the floor wet, there is no toilet mat either for cold floor. Basin bench is so small cannot put your toiletries bag on it. Nobody to assist for anything. Absolutely, no supplies other than milk, we have had full spreads in places we paid less for. Would not recommend.

The door needs an adjustment to cope with a loud persistent creaking when windy. Plus the kitchen knife really doesn't cut much. Bends sideways. Otherwise a fabulous stay. Thanks.

Location was amazing!

there was a broken mirror in the bathroom and it had a musty smell in the room.

Engulfed in nature sums it up. Felt part of the rainforest. Magic . The Miro unit was clean , modern and comfortable. Very happy to recommend to friends and family. The resident Weka birds visits were a bonus. The Truemans walk was great, such a unique part of the world.

It rained a lot due to our bad timing.

Das Zimmer das mit Balkon und als Baumhaus Zimmer beschrieben wurde war im Erdgeschoss, mit Blick auf die parkenden Autos, extrem dunkel und wahnsinnig feucht. Sobald Nachbar ihre Autos genutzt haben, mussten sie zuerst über unsere „Terrasse“ laufen und haben dann damit den Autoscheinwerfern in unser Zimmer geleuchtet. Insgesamt hatten wir das Gefühl im Keller zu wohnen, statt in einem bezahlten Zimmer. Auch die Ausstattung der Küche war enttäuschend- keine 2 Gläser, Gabeln etc haben zusammen gepasst.

Situated a very short drive from town and close to Truman’s Track this studio had everything we needed for a one night stay post Paparoa Track. The three of us and our packs comfortably fitted in the room. The beds were very comfy and the shower pressure was excellent, both very important after a tramp. The kitchen was well equipped and the tea/coffee was a nice touch. You really are surrounded by bush which is lovely and we had a friendly weka that hung around too.

The room was very musty and damp, thankfully a dehumidifier was provided. Some of the milk provided had gone off.

The tree house felt remote and secluded, with the balcony surrounded by Native bush; we saw a couple of NZ birds and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We also liked the Truman Track and went to the beautiful beach to watch the roaring ocean.

The WiFi didn't work in the apartment.

This was a lovely room. We were so disappointed that we didn't get to stay longer so we could really enjoy it. Waking up in the trees was delightful. The place was co.fortable and quiet.

Epäkäytännöllinen studio. Kylmä ja kostea. Lämmitin on, mutta pitää niin kovaa ääntä, ettei sitä voi pitää päällä, etenkään yöllä. Parisängyn toisella puolella ei ole valoa eikä pistorasiaa. Terassille haisee ja kuuluu yläkerran huoneiden viemäri!

L'allocazione è suggestiva, in mezzo al bosco. Di primo acchito anche la stanza da un'impressione positiva considerata anche la terrazza. Detto questo non c'è posto per aprire le valigie, l'armadio ha due appendini come quelli che ti danno in tintoria quando ti restituiscono le camicie stirate, c'è un minuscolo cestino solo in bagno. Anche il bagno è ristretto con un lavandino che è poco più grande di una ciotola da colazione, scomodissimo da usare. Nell'angolo cucina non c'è ne' un canovaccio per i piatti ne' per le mani, ma ti chiedono anche di lavare i piatti. Pratica che trovo discutibile se l'ospite successivo deve utilizzare stoviglie che non si se come siano state lavate. L'unico aspetto meritevole è il letto molto comodo.

arriving to pungent sewage smell that didn't dissapear, no code for entry, no sharp knife for cutting cheese, no extra t-towel when requested & bathroom-which was clean but had constant mouldy smell, plus no working tv when arrived!

Lovely nature bush on deck, loved our NZ native birdsong. The plug for the wall heater was broken so initially it was a bit chilly until the little floor fan heater warmed the room up. No electric blankets as stated but apparently they are usually there. Fabulous walk on the Truman track, loved it! Great host who communicated well. SkyTV worked perfectly, tho wifi was sketchy.

Wifi needs to be more stable.
