Staff were lovely. Great location. Nice to be able to use accommodation kayaks & snorkels.
Plastic on the beach
front of the beach, quite, connection with nature
not very clean, no internet on the beach
The location is exceptional and a true gem. The owners sister was really accommodating and did everything to make our family comfortable. We extended our stay by three nights.
The lack of Aircon can be brutal on those hot days but one look at that view or dive into the ocean makes it all worthwhile. One general comment about the island and not coconut beach in particular, lots of litter washes up from Sihanoukville and pollutes things. The government needs to really invest in preserving what they have.
Lovely original style large wooden bungalows set in pretty gardens overlooking and directly on Koh Rongs prettiest small beach. Warm and friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. Nowhere matches this accommodation on the island for a peaceful and natural experience. Forget your phone and turn back the clock.
On the beach, has the beach vibe, has access to the water, very green and nature vibe. I stayed in a tent and it is protected well from the weather. Convenient bike (scooter) hiring. Seriously have no regrets staying here, the staff are helpful and they are currently expanding on their facilities with a bar overlooking the beach. Will definitely return to see the finished product in a few months. I also think the public space they have is ideal for small events, they had a fire going and some music. Also had canoes and rubber tubes for floating on the water.
There is a lot of trash laying around, like broken toilets, broken roof tiles, I'd say dig a hole, bury it. The concrete pathway by the tents needs to be fixed/filled as they use old wood to walk over which isn't ideal if you're in flipflops or barefoot. (most people don't want to wear shoes in this area because its on the beachfront). WIFI coverage was not good where I stayed, I stayed in the tent area and would suggest they get a modem in the little office (reception) there that can reach the tents and beachfront better. I understand they are tents but spending some cash to have power ports for convenient charging without having your devices far from you would be great, this adds to the "glamping concept". Noise due to construction started around 7am which is a bit early, I'd say 8-9am for noise is a bit more accommodating. Overall, these were minor inconveniences as the stay was still great and I would definitely return.
Vue incroyable 😍
Un établissement remarquable propriétaire adorable
The location is close to the beach. It's quiet, no disturbing noise.
The hospitality is not good. No signs showing the way to the customers to the front desk. Calling the owner but lack of welcoming. Didn't give any better solution.
Die Besitzer....Orginal Cambodia Styl i love et...
The views and character of the cabins
The restaurant wasn't open
C'est une tente sous abri, a 2 pas de la mer. Belle vue.
The view so nice and the owner was kind and friendly.
The stuff use some word that impolite to talk behind about the customer.
Spacious bungalows surrounded by a beautiful garden overlooking the bay. The host was very friendly and took very good care of the place. Bungalows were very clean and every evening when we arrived home the host had prepared a mosquito smoking stick on the balcony.

Perfect location- was a great way to be in the quieter area but without the resort prices. Great for backpackers who want a more chilled vibe. Such lovely staff- they went above and beyond to help us out! Beds were comfy also:)
Only thing I would mention would be the holes in the tent- would be great if they were taped up as many mosquitos found their way into our tent every night. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us and we would love to come back- thank for a lovely stay.
The bed
The way to keep business running is to care of who bring you money. Your customers. The service was not good running by owner. Care your guests then they will bring you more and more money. The atmosphere was not clean, before renting the bike pls check your bike carefully to avoid broken along the way.
Staff were not that friendly when I arrived, toilet lights didn’t work sometimes but the location was great.
You get what you pay for! The location was absolutely amazing. We booked the bungalow with sea view and it’s like a postcard sitting on your veranda….stunning! It’s basic but worth it!
The houses were beautiful and the location was great. Right at the beach and view on the ocean. Houses were simple but everything you need. Staff was not very welcoming and could have been friendlier. However, had a great stay.
It's on the beach.
Most of the tents got completely wet by the rain, they are not good quality at all. Included the first and the other three optional tents that were assigned to me, couldn't get closed to avoid the rain to enter in.
Awesome location My favourite beach in the island The mattress was good
The staff wasn't really communicating The place was dirty The main balcony is half broken Many dishes on the menu doesn't exist
We had booked a tent bungalow. When we arrive they give us just a tent on the ground without mattress. No problem, we talked to them and the mattress was just a miss. But we paid for bungalow and not a tent. Later we got upgraded to what we paid for. Then, because they are overbooked they are putting more tents on the beach and some other people got to stay on the ground for the same price. Staff was OK, just not very trusting to their guests.
NA
The worst place I've ever been. It was so bad that I left that place. Can't even stay 1day. Staff don't care if you stay or not, very very ignorant. The tents have big holes in them. Torn, zip doesn't work so you can't close them as well. Too many mosquitoes. I was there for only 5 mins and I had 8 marks on my body. It was a really pathetic place to stay. Worst bathroom. No electricity in the tent. The beach front tents are destroyed easily when it's raining. Upper tents are lots of steps up. Very very very bad staff. Please don't go there just to save your money. You will get plenty of places in the same amount. Don't think you will get wind coz you are on the beach front, it's the biggest misconception I had.
The view is absolutely stunning. I liked how their towels smelled. I liked having a bungalow with a veranda to sit in. They have affordable restaurant and a little shop with essentials. They also have a nice communal terrace, fireplace and deck chairs by the sea. Bungalows are nice but very basic.
They said they would pick us up from the pier - but they didn't say that they go just to one pier just thrice per day, so we had to pay extra 10$ for a tuktuk. They also don't accept cards, so you need to have exact amount of money with you. It made us eat in other restaurants in the beach (that accept cards), because we didn't want to run out of cash. The terrace is nice, but the furniture is awful - tables are so low that its impossible to sit with your legs under the table - you need to sit sideways. Other tables force you to sit in a really uncomfortable position. Light in the bungalow was very poor.
The beach was amazing to be honest and it's good value for money. We checked other beaches but coconut beach was the best!
The private room was not maintained and really very hot during day and night. The bathroom was shit. I found a frog and a snake there and no one cares about cleaning it. One of the family member was staying next to our room and he wake up every day 5 am and playing music and/or calling friends very loudly!. So if you want to go there never choose room number 9 😅
Amazing location on a beautiful white sand beach! No traffic close by, only this place and 4 more resorts. Good smoothies and decent meals for a reasonable price.
The toilets were not always flushing, seemed they would be cleaned maximum once per day with limited toilet paper. The owner seemed ‘money hungry’ with his attitude towards any service offered. They also throw food waste around the kitchen so it may look disgusting when noticed.
It’s a great price and the staff will drive you to long set for a cheaper price then any tuk tuk will.
You are sleeping in tents without a fan or outlets so expect to be woken up at 8 from the heat
The room is comfortable, electricity works and there is a fan in the room. You're close to the beach and the owners are very helpful, happy to suggest activities and to sort out your transport to go back to the pier. They are also quite fast to answer on both booking and WhatsApp if you have a question. The beach is absolutely beautiful, it's a really good location.
The shared bathrooms are often dirty, not cleaned enough often enough and quite old, still decent to shower but changing some pipes and lightbulbs, fixing some locks would be good. Still overall very good price for the area. Just remember that you pay everything in cash and there is no ATM on the island, you can't pay by card at the guesthouse either.
The location was perfect, right in the beachfront. I rented a tent that was very spacious, the mattress was comfortable and the tent overall was new. In general coconut beach is a slow paced location so the vibe of the place was in the same mindset, very chill and quiet.
Great value also for the restaurant (but don't expect anything fancy), comfortable mattress, great sea view from the tents. Pick up and drop off service very convenient
The tents are showing their age, with some holes in our tent. No soap in the bathroom. The staff is existing without being too overly excited of interacting with you
I had a tent right on the beach. The mattress was comfortable. The place had a great vibe about it and the owner lady was lovely and helped me book transport.
The view from the tent was amazing. For the price 6$ for a tent, the experience was okay.
Our Tent was broken. It was a crazy storm on the night, the water came to the tent. The food in the restaurant was not good, the prices were okay.
The location. Comfy beds.
Wow, the staff were the rudest ive met in Cambodia. A real 'give me money and piss off' attitude. Don't expect any help from them. Because of the staffs attitude i didn't extend my stay. Bathroom facilites are basic - there are no free toiletries as advertised. Toilets didn't flush most of the time. I never ate at the restaurant (didn't want to interact with the rude staff) but i didn't hear good things about the food. There's not nearly enough charging ports for all the people staying in the tents to charge their phones
The property is amazing for couple and the location is in the best beach in the Island.
I arrived on time to do check in but the room wasn’t available. But the staffs give 1 hour more on the check out if we need to.
Perfect location, comfortable mattress and amazing sunrises. Okay prices for food, a bit more expensive but what you would expect from an island. The staff is not the smiliest but they are helpful and you can book almost anything from them.
Best place if you want to save sm money, the view is breathtaking. Please go to the lantern show, he really cares about it.
Nice big room with two double beds. Lovely view from the balcony. Woman serving us was polite and helpful Breakfast was nice The beach was lovely although there were a lot of ants
The man checking us in wasn't very friendly, short sharp answers to questions. Maybe a language barrier but smiles are universal Some of the food we tried wasn't the nicest we've had Lack of anything to do in the surrounding area, none of the other bars were serving any alcoholic drinks on a Saturday night and there wasn't much atmosphere in the restaurant area where we were staying
Perfect experience, right on the beach and beautiful view of sunset/sunrise! We stayed in the tent which it was very different experience but great! MAKE SURE TO BRING PLENTY OF CASH as there is no ATM/s or they don't use the card machine, also on the island is double the price compare to mainland
Sands everywhere in the tent when we get back from the day out, tried to clean the sands off before gets in but almost impossible so that was kinda annoying a little bit
The location is great! Loved the evening when we all were launching lanterns at the beach with the owner. He also makes an awesome fire show that I really enjoyed! I can see how the owners do their best to make the stay of people memorable. We stayed at a bungalow and in tents. Both places were nice. A bit worn out but it was expected knowing that this was the first hotel on the coconut beach dating 14 years back. If camping is for you, It’s amazing to wake up in a tent facing the sea and hear the waves!
We had few minor inconveniences throughout our stay. Had a hard time finding common ground with the owner’s sister. She was pretty rude to us a few times. But overall the place is ok to stay.
The people are generally kind and can help you if you approach them. They try to entertain you at night with music, fireshows and lanterns etc. The kitchen and food are fine, I ate well for around 3-5$ a meal. Other options are available at the beach. Beach/location is nice, Rafiki's (neighboring place) is a good place to eat/hang out. My tent was decent for $6 a night. A few holes here and there, but I didn't have any trouble with mosquitoes.
During my stay a number of people wake up with all kinds of bugbites/bumps. Not 100% sure if bedbugs or something else, but it's not pretty. Based on that alone I would not recommend this. Basic hygiëne is lacking. There's no hand soap in the toilet, which is unfortunate because everything is sticky. The tables, the bathrooms, even the menu's. So you constantly feel dirty and want to wash your hands. The toilets often don't flush, but you also shower in the same toilet cabin. Not nice when someone was in the bathroom before you. Bathrooms themselves are also not clean. There is a lot of trash lying under/around the tents, which no one cleans. Tent is usually hot and night, and loud boats in the bay at night will likely wake you up now and then. This place has a lot of potential and can actually be great, but it is not right now.
Stayed in one of the smaller rooms not the bungalows Great value room quite small but did the job for a few nights. Bed was reasonably comfy and cotton sheets. the fan worked ok could get a bit hot at times but for $10 a night you can’t complain it’s very quiet and peaceful there and the beach is nice
Would have given a higher score but I got bad food poisoning from eating at the restaurant here . I had fried rice with chicken. Some of the meat had been cooked previously and was cold so had not been re heated properly. Please make sure that you are reheating food properly if not fresh I felt awful for 4 days !!!!! The shared bathroom was also not clean and only had cold water
We slept in a tent with a very big mattress and it was very comfortable. The tent was old and in a few spots was broken and fixed with some paper. But it did his job, mostly for how much we payed. The food was really nice, at least for what we ate. The toilets were not dirty, it’s just that you are in the nature. The only thing we can say it’s that there was a lot of trash around the camping, mostly plastic bottle. The amazing thing is that the camping is in a very quiet spot and it faces the sea, Cocount beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Koh Rong.
Beautiful location, a tent on the beach shore. Sunrise 🌅 over the water, white sand, clear clean sea for swimming. 4-5 other resorts on same beach all for different budgets. Coconutbeach bungalows offers set time transfers to and from ferry for $1.50. Good restaurant. Complex family run. I was in a tent. Bed comfortable and clean.
I spent 8 days in a tent and it was a magical time at Coconut Beach! The tent was right in front of the sea, I fell asleep and woke up with the sound of the waves, every morning I enjoyed the sunrise and in the evening they lit the fire and threw the lanterns in the sky. I highly recommend this place, the last authentic and wild place on the island. Robby, the owner is great and his whole family are exceptional. I left my heart in that place….
The beach
Needed cash to pay which was not stated beforehand, no atm on the island which they didn’t let us know. Owner was rude and dismissive of us. The room was nice but the property itself had rubbish around and generally smelt.
Nice location, practical accommodation
Owners just care about making the most money possible (no hello, no goodbye, just trying to sell extra). Nothing seem to be done to clean the area (garbage everywhere around tents). They just don’t care
Right on the beach. Facilities were ok.
A lot of constructional debris on the territory. Could have been cleaner.
nice price for a single room 12 Dollars. Easy access to the beach. Clean toilets.
The mattress is very comfortable to sleep on, an independent tent mattress! Very comfortable and ventilated, not stuffy!
It would be nice to have more charging sockets.
First time I put this qualification to some place. The room was pretty good; comfortable, big enough, clean enough even though the humidity, and being next to coconut beach is quite unique.
The water from the tap was brown. It’s not a “problem” if you take a shower, but it is for cleaning your teeth or specially for drinking if no one tells you about it. We informed the staff about it, and they just said it’s normal and it’s not a problem, we could buy their water. That’s absolutely unhealthy. Another two issues not as important but equally rellevant are about their lack of kindness. 1. They told us to pick us up from the pier, and we were waiting for them until they realised we were in a different pier where they don’t go and they left us there. 2. We forgot a little bag in our room. We asked, called, everything we could but our ferry was leaving so we couldn’t do much more. So we contact them and asked them nicely if in one of their trips to the pier they could put the bag on it and we’d be waiting to receive it in Sihanoukville. They just said they had work to do and that was none of their business.
The atmosphere was really good here, the staff are very friendly and make you feel more than welcome. The main chill area is great to meet people & they often have bonfires/lanterns/fireworks etc which makes it very easy to meet people as a solo traveller. The tent gives you privacy, covered from the sun so isn’t in direct sunlight & a 1 minute walk to the beach! The food options are ok, pretty in line with other hostels! Pancakes are great! Can’t rate this property enough & definitely worth staying here if you are visiting Koh Rong! I’ll be going back :) pretty cool waking up in a tent looking at the beach!
I loved the bungalow we stayed in! The distance between houses was big, so it gave us the feeling of intimacy. It was calm and quiet. The bungalow was big, beds were huge and super comfortable, the nights there were our bests nights. There were no insects in the house, what was a biiiig pro! They lit a bonfire every evening, so we could chill around it. They organise a trip for snorkeling, sunset and plankton. The guy was very caring, he was preparing fireworks show for his guests as we stayed there for New Years Eve. Although it was New Years Eve, it was pretty quiet and calm, what we really liked. They also had a good restaurant there, pancakes were my favourite dish.
Beach was a bit dirty, but I know it's a not a fault of the owners.
This place is what I was looking for, I love everything about it. The beautiful atmosphere in the communal area, the books and games, the owners are so lovely, the location, the tents, the fireplace.. It's very special
