Very nice place to stay in Habarana. Hosts were always very helpful, welcoming us each time we came back from the trips. Tasty traditional breakfasts. The pool was great after the sightseeing in hot weather.

A little bit off-road, once we had trouble to get a ride on „pick me” in the evening. WiFi sometimes not working

Excellent stay with 2 other couples. We were well looked after ! Nice gardens & swimming pool. Location was good - 600m from the main road & about 1.5km from "town". Easy walk or ride in a tuk tuk. Good breakfast.

A good, spacious room, set amongst palm trees within the owners lush garden. Fabulous swimming pool was a bonus and the owners are a delightful couple who respect your privacy but are so warm, welcoming and friendly.

We had a very pleasant stay, everyone was so nice, very thoughtful and kind, the room was perfect, spacious and very confortable, the breakfast was delicious every single day. Everything was so easy, you can go to the center for dinner with a tuktuk and come back, or walking during the day ! Not at night because there are elephants ! Thank you so much again !

Nos costó encontrar la ubicación, pero al final pudimos. Imprescindible estar con coche.

The hospitable staff and tasty food. The room spacious, simple and very clean. Shower had hot water at all times! The pool is great and the delicious avocado shake served to us by it made the experience even more pampering.

No fridge in room so our drinking water was always warm, Bathroom- no shelves to put anything, & water went everywhere when showering, Big room but no chairs Terrace & main doors didn't close properly so bugs came in, Half board dinner was bland & on 2 day repeat for 4 days we there. TV didn't work- no instructions or info in room which seems to be standard Sri Lanka

My bedroom was spacious and quiet, and the whole property had a peaceful and sattvic feel. I have not slept so well for a long time! The family were very kind and helpful and tried their best to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. The person who I spoke with over the messaging app always tried their best to help, including organising me an amazing second safari to watch the elephants in Minneriya national park. Also, I am vegan, and the family prepared me delicious dhal curries and vegetables for dinner! Thank you all for a relaxing stay 🙏🏻

Whilst I enjoyed the freshly cooked roti and coconut pancakes for breakfast, I would have appreciated some more fresh fruit, as there were only ever a few pieces served.

A quiet little place that gets everything right. Very clean, beautifully kept, with a private pool and a real sense of peace. But what made the stay special was the people. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family. Dinner, cooked by the manager’s mother, was absolutely delicious. The kind of place you remember long after you leave.

Die Klimaanlage war sehr kalt, vermutlich ist der Temperatursensor defekt weshalb es immer auf gefühlt 16 Grad gekühlt hat auch wenn es wärmer eingestellt war

Une fois arrivé sur place, vous entrez dans un jardin magnifique, bien entretenu, avec une superbe piscine. Le personnel est au petit soin, toujours souriant et cuisine de bons petits plats typiques du Srilanka comme si vous faisiez partie de la famille.

Malheureusement, un peu négatif a été la chambre qui cette sous un certain angle ressemble aux photos mais nécessite une rafraîchissement car beaucoup de taches au sol et une salle de bain qui aurait besoin d’un peu plus de modernité.

The rooms were very spacious and clean with big bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner at the hotel one night and was very good.The pool was excellent, large and very clean. Also enjoyed the garden setting. The staff were wonderful and attended to every need.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Terasse mit Blick auf den grünen, sehr gepflegten Garten. Wir haben sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen in der Lodge erhalten, was beides sehr gut war und frisch gekocht wurde. Der Pool ist wirklich sehr sauber. Die Familie ist unheimlich lieb und hilfsbereit und wir haben uns sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

We were made extremely welcome by all the staff. The room was large and comfortable. The pool was very welcoming in the heat!!. Breakfast was excellent with homemade fruit juices, a great selection of fresh fruit, and freshly cooked eggs and pancakes. Tut tut rides and safari jeep were provided by the family at a very reasonable rate.

It is slightly difficult to find but worth the effort.

La chambre est hyper spacieuse, très jolie et très propre! Le jardin est magnifique et la piscine également (vraiment un + après une matinée et/ou journée de visites). Les petits déjeuners sont incroyables, nous avons également dîner 2 soirs et c'était super bon (le meilleur Kottu que j'ai mangé)! Les hôtes sont adorables et vraiment attentionnés, ils répondent à vos besoins (organisation de safari avec chauffeur privé, appel d'un chauffeur de tuktuk pour rejoindre le centre ville...). Nous sommes resté 6 nuits pour profiter au maximum des alentours et de la maison (emplacement central pour visiter le triangle culturel), nous sommes partit avec un petit pincement au coeur. Je ne peux que recommander à 100000%!!!

La nourriture est incroyable, la cuisine de la maman est fabuleuse ! Petits déjeuners et dîners variés tous les jours. Gros coup de cœur pour cette adorable famille. Merci encore !

Номер был очень большой и в нём было всё необходимое На территории есть бассейн, который очень скрашивал времяпровождение в отеле, после активного жаркого дня Особенно приятно было искупаться в день заселения, после перелета и долгой дороги с Коломбо в Хабарану Завтраки были просто прекрасные, очень вкусные Семья, которая владеет отелем очень милая и добрая, они всегда были готовы прийти на помощь Территория большая, есть парковка, что для нас было очень важно Мы от всего сердца советуем это волшебное место!😊

De matrassen slecht je voelde de spiralen( hadden we, nu achteraf moeten zeggen) Er waren geen andere gasten dus was heel erg stil. Kwam uiteraard door de situatie waardoor veel gecancelde boekingen waren .Eten vrij prijzig. Mooi zwembad. Helaas waren de zwembadbedjes nog niet voorzien van bedjes( besteld maar door de oorlog nog niet geleverd) waardoor het niet liggen was bij het zwembad.

To miejsce to raj na ziemi, polozoen na uboczu, z zadbanym ogrodem i wspaniałymi gospodarzami. To był nasz najlepszy nocleg na Sri Lance. Możliwość ochlodzenia się w basenie też bardzo na plus. Basen świetnie utrzymany, codziennie czyszczony. Pokoj bardzo przestronny, Możliwość przesiadywania na balkonie (dużo cienia!). Gospodyni w dobrej cenie może przygotować bardzo smaczna kolację. Z dala od ruchliwej ulicy, więc dojście do centrum chwilę zajmuje (polecam tuktuka albo spacer), ale to na plus. Spędziliśmy tu niezapomniane chwile.

Superb location run by a delightful local family. We had dinner as well as breakfasts there and it was delicious .The great pool was appreciated after a days sightseeing. Highly recommend this guest house.

Wifi isn’t working whatsoever, so if you need to work remotely, this isn’t a place for you. Also, they don’t take CC, just cash. $100 a night is a lot of money in Sri Lanka, so if you stay couple of nights, get the cash ready.

We stayed 3 nights in Manike lodge. Our room was lovey and big, it was a little humid but had great aircon. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Madhu and her family were charming and perfect hosts. Coming back to the pool each day was a bonus! The lodge is a 300 LKR ride from Habarana. We ate in town one night and at the lodge 2 nights where the delicious meal was cooked by Madhu’s mother, and far superior to our meal in the town.

We had a lovely stay at manike lodge. We booked with them last minute because the original place we booked at did not meet our expectations. When we arrived at manike, we immediately felt at ease. The family was amazing and we were always greeted with a smile. Breakfast and dinner was delicious and the room was Nice and big. They were so kind as well to help us with our laundry. It's a lovely place but the people make it even better!

Ravi and his family were absolutely lovely. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. They gave us recommendations on what to visit, prepared delicious and varied breakfasts, and washed our clothes. The room and bathroom were also very clean and spacious. The location was excellent - it was quiet and perfectly situated to visit all the tourist attractions in the area.

The room felt slightly humid and was cold at night (ask for a blanket!).

Sri Lankaans ontbijt en diner was uitgebreid en voortreffelijk. Safari kan voor je geregeld worden en de tuk tuk stond 05.00 uur in de ochtend klaar om je naar The Lion Rock te rijden. Het neefje dat af en toe aanwezig is spreekt vloeiend Engels en helpt de familie met de communicatie. Je bent hier te gast bij een locale ♥️ familie. Het is een prima uitvalsbasis om diverse activiteiten te ondernemen.

Hou er rekening mee dat het afgelegen ligt. Föhn, zeepje e.d. ontbreken.

We had such a lovely stay! We were welcomed by the owner’s nephew – super nice, friendly, and spoke perfect English. He was very professional and handled everything perfectly, making us feel immediately at ease. His aunt was absolutely adorable – every morning she would prepare the most amazing coconut roti for me… they were out of this world! I’m still waiting for the video of the recipe, hehe 😄 They also arranged a super cute and friendly tuk tuk driver, who was always on time and extremely helpful. It made getting around so easy and fun! A truly warm and authentic experience, with wonderful people, delicious food, and great local support. Absolutely recommended!

Super nette Familie und ein tolles Frühstück. Zimmer sehr sauber. Lage etwas außerhalb von Habarana aber mit einem Spaziergang oder dem tuk tuk gut zu erreichen und dafür unheimlich ruhig. Wir durften sogar den ganz neu angelegten Pool benutzen.

nice spacious room with porch facing the beautiful garden and pool. Property is run by very welcoming and nice family. We were warmly greeted. Very good breakfast, but too much for us, and they changed it according to our wishes. Also they arranged for us jeep safari in Minerya national park (as per their advice due to elephant's path) and we saw a lot of those incredible animals. Special thanks to Ravi - family member who speaks very good English and advised us for many things.

The place is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature! What we recommend the most, beyond the beauty of the location and the comfort of the spacious and clean room, is the kindness of the hosts! They were really welcoming – we had the chance to taste typical dishes prepared for dinner (rice and kotthu), and they kindly prepared a takeaway breakfast for us at dawn before we left for Sigiriya. Rovi, the guy, was really kind – he spoke English well and helped us communicate with his family. Thank you again!

Manike Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. The family that runs the lodge are incredibly kind and welcoming and go out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic experience. The rooms are spacious with lovely views over the garden (which is full of birdlife and the occasional monkey) from the balcony. The meals at the property are delicious and as vegetarians, we were very well catered for. The hosts are very helpful in organising local safaris and visits to Sigiriya and other sights in the area, all for reasonable prices. Overall, our favourite place we have stayed in Sri Lanka so far!

A calm oasis, near the centre of Habarana, with large comfortable rooms and a lovely garden outlook. This is effectively a homestay, with the hosts living in the adjacent house. Breakfast and (on request) dinner is served on their verandah. The hosts are very charming and helpful (will do your washing on request) and the son speaks good English. It's about 2.5km to the lake and to many of the better local restaurants, so count on a bit of walking, or a few tuk tuk rides (note that the adjacent road is not well lit). Recommended.

Run by wonderful family, husband and wife with 2 son whom speak English very well. Branch new modern building, spacious room clean, beautiful room & bath room, comfortable King size bed with good quality of linen. it was most comfortable stayed in Srilangka. The kindness of the staffs and family made my stay more enjoyable.

Room was very dirty! When we arrive it was obvious that nobody clean it for weeks. It was full of ants, spiders with nests, frogs and gecons. A lot of dust in bed. Bathroom was dirty too. There is no shower gel and shampoo (only soap), no reception 24/7 as is mentioned in description.

Everything was so clean!! The host family was the nicest and kindest people I’ve ever met. We really enjoyed the food there. I really recommend the place 😍

The owners of the property were amazing and very accommodating. Even though there was a mix up with our check in dates, they were able to get our room ready for us in 10 minutes! The room itself was a very generous size and clean. The sri lankan reakfast provided was great and could not recommend it more.

The room was not sound proofed which meant you heard all the sounds of nature at night which was hard to drown out. It would have been better to have duvets in the room instead of bed sheets as a covering, as I had to keep waking up at night to control the Air Con.

The staff is so so friendly. They try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We had a really spacious room in a nice quiet area.

Make sure to communicate your food preferences beforehand. We’re vegetarians and couldn’t eat the dinner unfortunately. You need to communicate with the manager via phone or text, as he not at the location. The very friendly staff can not speak English.

All was excellent . We loved the family who looked after us while we stayed. They cooked for us every evening with the best food we have eaten while in Sri Lanka ! Delicious! The breakfasts too were delicious with lots of variety! The room was spacious and had great aircon and was extremely clean. The family organised tuk tuk drivers and safari jeeps too. The lodge is a little out of town but so quiet away from the noise of Habarana, we were so happy there.

The place is let down by attention to smaller details. Tea making facilities provided but just 1 tea bag for a 3 nights stay. No Shampoo or shower gel. No hairdryer No fridge/mini bar or TV though the listing says they are provided. Despite such a large room there was nowhere to sit apart from on the bed or outside. It could easily accommodate a couple of chairs.

We had a lovely stay at at Manike lodge ! The rooms were spotless and the ac worked perfectly. The rooms were also very big with room to make yourself at home. What we loved most was the kind host family, they were so helpful and sweet to us. Also the breakfast was amazing. My boyfriend is a big guy and he ate very well and was never hungry. Absolutely would stay here again if we ever return and would recommend staying here to my friends and family

The lovely chocolatecakes we had when we arrived on our bicycles😁. The family was very helpful in organizing things for us like a safari and a tuktukdriver for a day who drove us to Dambulla, Pidurangala Rock and to our organic cooking class in Sigiriya (which we found on reisjunk).. Manike Lodge Is a very quiet place, which we loved very much.

Really clean and spacious room with a patio and garden view. Hosts were friendly, and were generous with their time - helping us to book tours and transport to Kandy. The breakfast was delicious, and we also enjoyed a huge dinner which they made at short notice. The location is out of the main area of town, but is only a short tuk tuk ride which the hosts can help to book.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY in Habarana. The family was simply perfect: the room very well cleaned, the guy takes care of every need and pays attention of every detail. when we came out of our room it was raining and it was waiting for us with an umbrella. we woke up very early in the morning to watch the sunrise at Lion Rock anche they provides us the take away breakfast at 5am! and finally as a gift he gave us a beautiful portrait of two of us made by him, so lovely. homemade breakfast was rich and fresh. extremely recommended 🙏🏻 Martina-Italy

Very pleasant staying. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. The staff was extremely helpful, they helped us finding how to reach Negombo by calling the railway office and they arranged us a tuk-tuk for the train station.

Manike Lodge is a very nice residence, situated a bit far off in the woods, therefore nice and quiet at night. The apartment house is placed in a very nice garden. The rooms are very big, the beds are good, the balcony very nice. Everything was very clean and neat. The breakfast was very nice, we’ve got everything we needed from tea to toast, pancakes and fruit! The residence owner is super friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed our say very much!

We had an amazing stay at Manike Lodge. Ishan, our host, was very attentive and helped whenever we needed. The location is perfect with easy access to lots of tourist attractions. The breakfast was excellent and Ishan also offered to cook us a traditional Sri Lankan dinner one night for a small price - it was delicious! The rooms are modern and spacious with everything you need. Spotless bathroom with powerful shower. The view of the gardens from the balcony was stunning. We cannot fault our stay here!
