Vaattunki Wilderness Resort

Geweldige, sfeervolle plek op ongeveer 2 kilometer de bossen in en direct aan een meer. Heerlijk halfpension met drie gangen a la carte. Vanuit de poort van het resort loop je zo de duisternis in en is het noorderlicht eventueel te spotten.

We verbleven in een Arctic Deluxe room en deze was geweldig alleen zeeeer gehorig. Alles van de buren letterlijk te volgen. Als dit niet het geval was geweest zouden we zeker met een 10 beoordelen.

Great place. Spacious, beautiful, cozy and clean room. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable, had a great sleep. Fabulous breakfast, plenty choices and freshly made varieties on the spot. The surrounding nature and river are breathtaking. Very friendly staff. Great spot to relax, enjoy the stunning nature and to observe the northern lights. We were blessed that the night of our stay the auroras showed up and we had the chance to enjoy the magical view at this picturesque hidden jam.

The room was a little cold and the heating was not working properly.

Ok I have never written a review to any places we have stayed but this one deserves it and I do it gladly. It was the best stay of our lives. I wish we could have stayed longer. The place is surrounded by beautiful nature with easy access to very nice hikes. The room with glass ceiling was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Honestly I could live there no problem. The breakfast was delicious with many options and an amazing view. The staff were helpful and super kind and friendly. And the price was so affordable!! If I ever comeback to Rovaniemi, I know where to stay :)

We loved that all the activities were right there. Others came by huge buses to do the Husky sled ride and the snowmobile ride, but we just had to go by foot with in our hotel area. If you don't want to see more of Finnland you really don't have to leave the hotel area to enjoy your time there. The food was amazing! We had Breakfast and Dinner included. The menu is the same everyday, but if you only stay for a week it is perferct to try all the different typical finnish food. Also the restaurant interior and they way you basically sit in the snow, because 3 out of 4 walls are glass is amazing. Both of us can't eat gluten and lactose, which was not a probelm at all, as ALL of the menu items are lactose free and almost everything can be made glutenfree. Also right beside the hotel are amazing trails for hiking. People come to go for a hike there, but you basically just have to fall out of your room and are at this amazing bridge that everyone wants to see in this area. They also have a great Nothern Lights app! We saw them once!

We booked the little cabin, so we also have a little kitchen. As me and my partner both can't eat gluten we like to book accommodations that also have the possibility to cook something for yourself if the food provided was not glutenfree. There was a kitchen, but NO kitchen supplies. No pan, fork, cuttlery, plate, bowl, whatsoever. Just to cups. So if you want to cook, this is not the right place for you. If you want to have an amzing restaurant and all the activities right by you, it's perfect.

Das wichtigste: Wir haben die Polarlichter vom Bett aus gesehen :) Sehr schönes Design und Einrichtung der Hütte. Tolle Beleuchtung mit verschiedenen LEDs und elektrischem Kaminfeuer. Kaffeemaschine + Kühlschrank im Zimmer vorhanden. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen mit einem tollen Grillplatz im Wald nur 10 Min zu Fuß entfernt. Trockenes Holz und Grillanzünder waren vorhanden.

Die Qualität des Frühstücksbuffets war gut, aber für den Preis hätten wir mehr Auswahl erwartet. An Heißgetränken gab es nur Filterkaffee und Tee und bspw. kein Cappuccino, heiße Schokolade etc. Es gab leider auch kein frisches Obst außer Äpfel.

Gemütliches Zimmer. Einen Tag konnten wir sogar Polarlichter sehr deutlich aus dem Bett heraus sehen.

A beautiful property in a super location. Right at the river, with incredible walks/hikes at your door step. All the staff is absolute amazing, super helpful, friendly and kind. Our hut room was super cute and comfortable. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was incredible. Great breakfast! The sauna... is a must, we enjoyed it so much and the river view from the sauna is gorgeous. Another highlight was the amazing walk and the super friendly lady at the reception, thank you for a great stay!

Das Glas Iglu entsprach den Vorstellungen; es war wunderbar den Blick vom Bett aus in den den Himmel. Beim elektrischen Kamin konnte man die Farbe umstellen und die Heizung aufdrehen. Es war sehr gemütlich. Der Fluss und der Naturweg sind sehr zu empfehlen. Das Frühstück und das Essen allgemein im Restaurant sind sehr gut. Die Umgebung ist ein Traum!

Da man ausserhalb wohnt, gab es nirgends einen Supermarkt oder Shop, um sich etwas für zwischendurch zu erwerben. Am besten kauft man sich Proviant ein. Es gibt nur das teurere Restaurant.

The resort is set in a lovely location with many places to explore and discover the beauty of the Finnish wilderness. The staff here were very warm, friendly and eager to help! The aurora cabin we stayed in was amazing as it offers you the view of the night sky from your bed!

Colazione dolce e salata super fornita e buona, Camera ben fornita di ogni comfort e bagno piccolo ma ottimo. Personale gentile e disponibile. Vicinanza di bosco con vari percorsi.

In camera assenza dell'angolo cottura, c'è solo il microonde. Alcuni servizi extra, come le navette per santa Village e Rovaniemi, che potrebbero avere più tratte durante la giornata, e i costi della spa e del ristorante.

Die wunderbare Lage in der Natur! Das Essen ist sehr hochwertig, sehr gute Auswahl und das Dinner jeden Abend ein Traum. Glutenfreie Küche ist ebenfalls fantastisch, man ausreichende Auswahl an Speisen! Safari Touren konnte man direkt vor Ort buchen! Tolle Husky Tour!

Das Resort war nachts ziemlich stark beleuchtet. Dadurch war es schwerer Polarlichter zu sehen. Personal leider nicht besonders aufmerksam (außer die junge Frau mit den blonden Haaren - die war sehr gut!) Room Service kam immer erst am späten Nachmittag. Die Straße zum Resort war eine Zumutung. Sehr schlechter Zustand.

Il posto e' meraviglioso si e' davvero in mezzo alla foresta innevata. Le camere meravigliose con vista mozzafiato. La colazione molto buona e completa. La posizione è fantastica. Inoltre nella struttura puoi fare passeggiate nella foresta e attività noi abbiamo fatto il giro di due ore con le renne e' stato davvero un Esperienza!!!

La struttura si presenta molto bella, curata e in una posizione davvero piacevole: un luogo che merita sicuramente di essere scelto e vissuto. Gli ambienti sono accoglienti e l’esperienza nel complesso è stata positiva sotto il profilo della location. Ua location davvero molto valida e piacevole, che potrebbe offrire un’esperienza eccellente con una maggiore attenzione al cliente da parte dello staff, che rappresenta l’aspetto principale su cui migliorare.

Ciò che purtroppo non è stato all’altezza delle aspettative, soprattutto considerando la categoria a 5 stelle, è stato il servizio. Fin dall’arrivo abbiamo percepito poca attenzione: nonostante la presenza di due addetti alla reception, siamo stati fatti attendere mentre uno dei due era libero, e non ci è stato offerto alcun supporto con i bagagli, che abbiamo dovuto portare autonomamente in camera. Anche durante il soggiorno il livello di attenzione è risultato altalenante. A colazione, pur essendo inclusa, il caffè non lo era, cosa piuttosto insolita per una struttura di questo livello. Inoltre, il servizio è stato piuttosto lento: ci è capitato di attendere a lungo senza che venisse portata l’acqua prevista per ogni tavolo e, all’ingresso in sala, siamo stati semplicemente indirizzati al tavolo senza essere accompagnati. Si tratta di dettagli che, presi singolarmente, potrebbero sembrare marginali, ma che in una struttura a cinque stelle fanno la differenza e contribuiscono a definire l’esperienza complessiva. In sintesi, una location davvero molto valida e piacevole, che potrebbe offrire un’esperienza eccellente con una maggiore attenzione al cliente da parte dello staff, che rappresenta l’aspetto principale su cui migliorare.

Breakfast was great. The restaurant also was wonderful for dinner. We appreciated the walking trails nearby.

Restaurant is very nice. We had dinner and breakfast. Different coffee you need to pay. People at reception were very nice.

Our cabin was a Panorama Hut. The Panorama was directly into the woods. So you see nowhere really. The woods can be nice, but it felt weird, as you just saw nothing really. If I remember correctly, 1 or 2 days later, the same place was half of the price. The panorama Hut is very small. One day before we had a very, very nice, executive suite for almost half of the price and double as big. For the price we paid, absolutely to expensive. But still we we enjoyed the stay, as we had a nice dinner.

Le site est magique. Le petit déjeuner est copieux belle variété de choix. Les igloos sont cosy confortable spacieux et j’ai eu la chance de voir les aurores boréales de mon lit

Colazione internazionale. Ben rifornita sia di salato che dolce. Ottimo l'orario di servizio. Posizione non vicinissima alle principali attrazioni ma comunque immersa nella natura ed ottima per provare a vedere l'aurora boreale direttamente dalla struttura, ma comunque ci sono posizioni vicine idonee. Stanza bella e funzionale. Nella stanza era presente un bollitore per il the e una macchinetta per espresso con le relative capsule, a disposizione degli ospiti. Molto apprezzati. Unico neo....un pochina più di cura nella pulizia delle stanze. Ma comunque stanze pulite, in ordine e con biancheria pulita ogni giorno

Sehr schöne Lage und super Frühstück sowie Abendessen. Besonders die Igloos sind sehr schön. Sehr schöne Sauna und Whirlpool.

In den kleinen Hütten sind die Badezimmer extrem klein. In Verbindung mit unserer Buchung eines Icefishing Ausflugs bei Safartica konnte uns an der Rezeption nicht geholfen werden.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, cozy, and well-prepared. Everything was in good condition and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and it was a perfect place to unwind. Overall, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

The only downside was the transportation. Although the location is peaceful, the shuttle service had very limited hours, and the only alternative was taking a taxi, which was quite expensive.

The resort is located in a beautiful serene location. The comfort of our panoramic hut was beyond. We loved our stay.

Wir hatten minus 40 grad und die Heizung in unserer Kabine hat das nicht geschafft , wir haben dann aber extra Heizstrahler bekommen

Vaattunki is such a lovely resort in a great location, with beautiful walking trails, chance to see the Northern lights and a short drive away from Santa Claus village and Rovaniemi city centre.

La cabaña era preciosa y con todos los servicios. Identica a las fotos. Aunque no vimos la aurora boreal fue una experiencia inolvidable. Nos hubieramos quedado mas dias. El desayuno estaba buenisimo.

The place looks like it’s straight out of a movie—absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The cabin and surroundings are stunning, and the service was excellent. Everything was clean, well organized, and the experience overall was amazing.

We booked a room for a couple, but it had two single beds instead of one double bed. Sleeping was a bit uncomfortable because of the gap between the beds.

I wanted to do something special for my partner’s birthday and this experience was absolutely wonderful! The location of your wildest childhood dreams, on the edge of a magical forest and frozen river. it has a remote feeling and at the same time you can conveniently reach the city centre by uber or taxi. Plenty of activities to do on site (huskies, reindeers etc), excellent food and cozy atmosphere! Staff is friendly and sooo helpful! They did their best to make sure we had an unforgettable time in Lapland. My partner is not easily impressed but he was amazed by this birthday weekend! If you are looking to do something special for someone with high standards I highly recommend this place!

Hard to find something to dislike. While in our room the temperature was appropriate for frigid nights, the couple of friends we had convinced to join us for that trip, were complaining about being too cold in their room, as that room had two outside walls. Our room had only one outside wall, which probably explains it, why it was warm/comfortable in our room.

This hotel is just gorgeous. The rooms are so well kept and exactly what you see on the photos! Restaurant is so nice and the staff are lovely

Barely anything but it’s a shame they don’t have more chairs/a reception area as such to sit for those who may not have an early flight upon checkout

Bella struttura, offre molti servizi, cucina buona, possibilità di fare escursioni organizzate direttamente dalla struttura, ma anche in autonomia essendo collegato ad un’isola che si può visitare a piedi, da dove partono molti percorsi. Abbiamo anche visto l aurora boreale.

Ho scelto il Vaatunki Wilderness Resort perché promettevano la possibilità di vedere l’aurora boreale… e così è stato! Il posto sembrava davvero estratto da una favola: immerso nella natura, silenzioso e magico. Un’esperienza che non dimenticherò.
